And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. Thank you for sharing! I am a teenager and I wanted to start head covering to be more modest and to be closer to God. I feel he had put it on my heart to start covering since I am constantly worried about what I look like and I have prayed concerning this subject. Finally I got the courage and ever since I wear scarves, I have a big lace headband I use for work that covers my head as well. I've had comments my grandma actually called me gypsy and a customer (when I wore one of my nice scarves) said something about pirate. I just ordered my first veil! I’ve been praying about this for almost a complete year but have been to worried about what others thought to actually pursue it. Today I decided to mention it to my dad and he was completely supportive! I have talked to my school friends and they are all supportive as well! Veils also protect against the summer sun. I started because my grandma got skin cancer on her scalp. When I don't wear solid headscarves in the summer my scalp burns
I just kicked off 2024 wearing a veil!! I felt compelled to cover about 3-4 months. I do homeschool so I’m excited. My friend doesn’t really know but i haven’t talked about it with her.

I'm a Catholic teenager, and I am preparing to consecrate myself to Mary, through Saint Louis' consecration of Jesus through Mary. I've always wanted to veil after seeing our Muslim sisters and religious Sisters so happy with the veil. I think this is awesome you want to be more modest but PLEASE pray for wisdom & discernment and read what the WORD actually says. No where in the Bible does it say that Mary will bring us to Jesus. I implore you, scripture supports scripture, please learn to read and study for your salvation that is from grace thru faith that Jesus died for your sins. I support any woman, regardless of religion, who wears a head covering. It's such a strong character move. I don't care if someone wears a handkerchief or chooses to cover their face, I support that.
Why would god make you ashamed of any part of the body he created for you? And why is it only women that feel shame? And if it's not oppressive, then why are the countries with the worst human rights records, the least women's rights, and the highest violence towards women, also countries where women cover their heads?
I grew up in a evangelical Protestant church and I’ve started head covering and my mother has said “you don’t have to in the new testament god made us free” and this was after I told her that god is calling me to veil 24/7
Absolutely we are free. Free from the need to keep the requirements of the law to obtain righteousness before God. But headcovering is not done to earn 'righteousness points' with God. It is a symbol of our submission, an external expression or symbol of what is true in our heart and what we believe, signifying we agree with God in relation to His created order in regards to gender roles, headship and submission.
I feel like God has put head coverings on my heart I've decided to sew bandana-like head scarves and wear them they make me feel more modest already tomorrow I'll wear my first one to school I'm scared, senior in highschool 😂 definitely will be teased but whatever. God bless y'all!!! ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I've been covering as a Christian for about 5 years. I used to do all the fancy wraps with multiple scarves, huge volume, headbands and pins, and all of that. Then I took all kinds of time taking pictures and editing to show it all off for my headcovering FB friends. It consumed my days and ate up all my funds. Well, about 8 months ago, God convicted me about this prideful thing I was mired in. I quit the FB group which, although filled with such nice people, it was a source of temptation and pride for me. Then I gave away the majority of my scarves and volumizers. And now I feel a deep desire to wrap with beautiful simplicity. This feels like God's Grace. I like that you considered your husband's approval for your headcovering style. Just recently my husband did not like one of my coverings (a large blue handkerchief style). I asked him which one he preferred he replied that he liked the color and shape of my scarves. So I use those ones now. I think your style is simple and elegant. God bless you 🙏 ❤

Thank you! Me and my family were Baptized into Orthodoxy last Christmas Eve (OCA but mostly converts in our parish so most women wear head coverings). I’ve been fussing with and trying to figure out how to dress and cover my head for the past year all while having our 3rd child in April (so my wardrobe keeps having different needs). I think personally head coverings for Christian ladies should be worn while praying so I’m Pentecostal so I wear it any time I go out (it’s fine if close family see my hair)

@@janitaj.9383 if you think God is calling you to veil at all times, then do it! it used to be the social norm for a woman to not leave the house without putting her veil on, and this is a tradition that would have been followed by perfect role models such as the Theotokos and her sister St Elizabeth. So from one Orthodox Christian to another, i'd fully recommend going with your heart on this one. As for material, i'm a man so of course i don't veil but my girlfriend has very curly hair and sometimes veils so i've had to learn all about to best materials to take care of hair for when i want to buy her headscarves, and i recommend silk or satin the most - but feel free to do your own research and experiment with it, if you have straight and low maintenance hair you'll probably be able to get away with most things but, especially since you're going to be veiling daily, it's probably worth investing in a good silk or satin headscarf (i say investing, they're not even that expensive really)

In my church in Brazil, still many old women still cover their head when they are in the church praying, it’s so magnificent, it’s sad that most younger women won’t do this, I see this as a beautiful thing.

It is refreshing to see that you put so much thought into Christian headcovering. That to me is what is important. You wear it with purpose. Not out of tradition, but out of trying to follow scripture. I too am covering my head and have tried many different styles. It has boiled down to a simple scarf throughout the day, hats when working out in the garden or wool hats when camping in cold weather. When I am praying in the presence of the Father, I veil with covering my full head, neck, and forehead. I also wear turban style when I am working in my home to keep my long hair out of the way. I am wearing it for exactly the same reasons you are. It is a reminder to me to be humble, meek, quiet, and gracious as our Heavenly Father wishes His women to be. Unfortunately, it draws attention to me. I stand out from the average woman because of my headcovering and modest plain clothing. Most people can see that I am on a religious path. Many think I am Muslim. I find that mostly women are offended by it, especially Christian women. I think it convicts them and they are defiant. I have decided to please God rather than man and follow Him wholly. I am so blessed to be finding my way back to true Christianity.

The first thing that everyone must understand when talking about this topic is that it DOES NOT say the word “veil “or any other physical headwear, as far as the KJV is concerned. It surely mentions that the woman’s head should be covered no one disputes this but it does not say that it should be covered with a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or any other specific headwear. The verses in question within 1st Corinthians 11 mention the words, cover, covered, uncovered, and covering, but that does not mean we can translate this to mean a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or anything else similar. In fact, it would seem more like an adverb rather than a noun. Nevertheless, the word “cover” is often unfortunately interpreted by head covering promoters to mean a veil above all other types of headwear, even if there is no evidence to prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. To do so would mean that one is trying to read more into the verse than what is actually stated and is not truly seeking an exegesis of the Scriptures. As I mentioned earlier some will lay claim that they must be referring to a physical head covering because the Scriptures seem to indicate that there are two exclusive conditions in order to wear one and that is when a woman is either praying and/or prophesying. But does this interpretation stand up to logic? If we were to believe that under certain conditions a woman ought to wear a physical head covering, then it stands to reason that under OTHER conditions a woman should be able NOT to wear one. Allow me to expand on this if you will because this is very important. If you are going to make the argument to prove your point that a woman ought to wear a veil because the Bible supposedly claims that women ought to wear a veil based on two conditions, then it is only logical to understand that any other condition would ALLOW them to be without one; for example: if the woman is speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc. Now if a head covering promoter should deny this, meaning that the woman should wear their “veil” under other conditions then they would be admitting that there aren’t really “two” conditions thereby nullifying the two-condition argument. Please note that the belief in women wearing veils for many groups hinges on this “two-condition” argument because if there were actual conditions then it would seem as though the covering were something that can be placed on or taken off. But keep in mind that it does not literally or EXPLICITLY say anything about putting something on or taking something off. Veil promotors get this belief based on what they believe to be IMPLIED in the scriptures and not by a direct understanding. Many people like to believe this because they ASSUME that praying and prophesying are two conditions instead of seeing them as mere examples. * Praying and prophesying were meant to be viewed as examples, not conditions… Now I can understand how someone can mistakenly conclude praying and prophesying as conditions in verse 5, on the surface, but once you read the rest of the verses in context one cannot reach that conclusion. For example, if the strongest argument is because there were conditions for women to wear veils because of verse 5 then why don’t we hear the same thing spoken of about men in verse 4? “Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.” Normally we do not hear the argument that men ought not to have their heads covered exclusively under two conditions as we hear for women as to why they should. I think it is because that would imply that they CAN have their heads covered under other circumstances like the examples I mentioned before as in speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc. But I suspect a veil promoter would not go along with this. Then there is verse 7: “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.” So, there seems to be another reason for men not to cover. Therefore, if the reason for men not to cover their heads in this verse is because he is the “image and glory of God,” then why even mention praying or prophesying in verse 4? Should he not be covered under any condition because of verse 7? Verses 4 and 5 are basically the same except for whom they are directed yet when one hears the arguments by veil promoters it is typically about how verse 5 is conditional for women yet for men in verse 4 it is usually not spoken of. Isn’t it more likely that Paul was using the words praying and prophesying as examples in both verses? We can also get a sense that Paul was referring to praying and prophesying as examples if we read verse 13 when it only mentions the word praying and NOT prophesying. “Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?” If there were only two conditions, then why would he leave out prophesying? We can’t say he got tired in his writing as he mentioned both words in verses 4 and 5. So, what can we say about this? Just that Paul was giving us a couple of examples of how doing something HOLY or GODLY does not look right if the woman is uncovered, meaning not covered in long hair and the same goes for men when their heads are covered in long hair since that is exactly one is supposed to understand when reading verse 14. KJV If the covering is long hair, then the words “covered” or “cover” (which are synonymous with “covering”) should be understood as long hair as well. If so, then we can get a better picture of verse 4 when it says that it is shameful or dishonorable for a man to pray or prophesy with his head “covered.” Note the similarity to verse 14 that’s because they are both referring to being covered in LONG hair. * You Should Naturally Know Right from Wrong by Just Looking…. If these verses do not move you yet then here’s one that should definitely blow your mind. Paul asks you to make a judgment call in verse 13 as if one should naturally see a problem because he asks you to: "Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?" Paul is asking us to make a judgment. Based on what? The only option is based on observation. Therefore, if to be uncovered would mean to be without a veil, then one would have to explain in detail why a FABRIC VEIL would pop up in the average person’s mind when observing a woman praying. Why would you or I look at someone and think that a veil (or any other foreign object) is missing? Someone needs to explain this logically. This is very important so please don’t dismiss it. Be honest with yourself do YOU really believe that the average person will look at an unveiled, praying woman and naturally think a VEIL is missing? Are we to assume that Paul expected the average person to have instilled within them the idea that a foreign object is missing from a woman? I have never seen or heard anyone say something like: "What a shame she is not wearing a veil on her head?” after looking at a long-haired, praying woman. To so do would be ludicrous. One would have to be literally BRAINWASHED to think that the average person would EVER think that a SEPARATE UNNATURAL OBJECT such as a veil would be missing on a praying woman’s head. There is no NATURAL or NORMAL reasoning to make such a judgment. But if the word “UNCOVERED” were to mean "SHORT HAIR." then it would make LOGICAL sense. For if I were to observe a woman who has a short haircut doing these holy things as we read in verse 5, then I can naturally judge (by sight) that something doesn’t look right. I think can say with some assurance that many of us have done double takes when looking at a woman with short hair especially if we are looking at their backs to confirm whether the person was male or female. It seems like a natural reaction especially when we were young. Also, the very next verse continues this line of thinking that things should be obvious to understand by mere observation. "Doth not even NATURE itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him." 1st Corinthians 11:14 Note that verses 13 and 14 are two consecutive questions both of which ask you to NATURALLY or NORMALLY ASSUME or JUDGE that there is something wrong: whether it be OBSERVING a woman’s uncovered head (a.k.a. short hair) while praying or OBSERVING a man having long hair. In addition, by using the word “NATURE” one can’t even use the excuse that perhaps they were expecting only Christians to see something different. Clearly, if “nature” teaches us that something looks off then it must be including all of mankind as nature teaches all of us both Christian and non-Christian. I would like to also add that these verses are NOT jumping from the discussion of a “veil” in verse 13 and then suddenly to “hair” in verse 14 like some would like to argue because you will note that verse 15 refers again to the woman which FLAT OUT STATES the “covering” is to mean “long hair.” Therefore, there is NO EXCUSE to not understand the previous verses are referring to hair length. By this, we can understand verse 4 which states that it is shameful or dishonoring for a man to pray or prophesy with his head covered as I previously mentioned.
I should note that verse 4 in NO WAY implies that the covering on the man can be placed on or taken off, like some like to argue, due to the aforementioned false interpretation that the verse is exclusive to two conditions instead of seeing them as two examples. In Islam women should cover their heads as well it's sign of modesty but nobody should force you to wear it. It IS you choice to obey God or not. Islam gives us the liberty of choice and I choice to obey my God and Wear it. May God bless and guide you sister
I confess, I never thought of the veil as being because we are brides. I have tried the turban, and I absolutely cannot tie them and get them to stay on, so I finally just decided veiling is for me, with either a headscarf, a long scarf, or the traditional lace veil. I went through a time when I was wearing hats, but now I think that they smack of wearing a crown also and will not be wearing them anymore to church. Thanks for this video, it is very informative. Why? Well, because the Bible tells me so. And I am so fed up with my own discussions with God. Always trying to avoid what He asks me to do. Why not just obey?Whatever. It's not hard. It's easy. I recently tried to wear head coverings this year and my goal is to get over my fears of people looking at me funny and wear it full time! I am Christian woman and I have done a lot of research on head coverings and how it really used to be such a common thing up until feminism unfortunately. I am happy to find people like you who are okay wearing head coverings and also talk to other people about it as well!! I'm from Malaysia and I used to veil in church, fell out of faith, left the church for many years. I shave my head with my face and eyebrows, but i feel very confident wearing my head veil head covering it's not the bandana it's a head scarf possibly be a ladies but that hasn't never bothered me personally throughout my entire life. For long hair is given to her as a covering." but I don't think that is to negate the previous verses about covering the head while praying or prophesying because you can't have long hair and only cover the head while praying and prophesying, you'd have it covered all the time if it just meant hair.

During Prayer, it is said in islam, and obviously in Other religions too, do not kid me, that the Angels come to the people that are praying and collecting information about what they did. I have been going through a great deal I had a accident at work and I started praying for God direction and I kept getting the thought to veil my head I thought I was going crazy until I I went in 2 high end stores both women that assisted me head was covered I knew it was direct confrontation from God. I have been in a better spiritual place since God is Awesome

I didn't even know that Christians covered their hair with veils until last year and I had religion classes in school (because I'm living in Austria) and it's so beautiful, I feel like everyone should at least try veiling, Christian or not (I'm an ex Christian and neopagan witch btw).

Thank you for your reply. I feel leaving out the first part of the chapter is misleading. (Verses 2-12) For those interested, it's covered (pardon the pun!) In 1 Corinthians 11 My husband and I have studied the Greek a length and the word used for "covering" is translated back to your hair is your glory "for a covering" or "to be covered". I just don't want others investigating this to be mislead. The main purpose of the whole chapter is setting up God's authority and structure in marriage and instructing us how to pay respect to this. Our husbands and God. The practice only ceased largely in the women's liberation movements of 1960s. I feel that we are not "finally" smart enough in the last 50-60 years to have finally "got it right" when our church predecessors we're covering in the new testament era for almost 2000 years. I don't mean to be argumentative, just shining light on the truth. Pray to God and see where Holy Spirit leads you. He is so faithful. God bless you 🌻

This is something I also post sometimes: If a woman needs to touch and pick up something physical, before acceptable communication with deity can happen, that would make the fabric covering a talisman. Though the woman would not believe she is using a talisman. talisman (basic definition)- a piece of clothing (or other physical object) that is believed to have spiritual (or magical) properties. The object will align with your intention for its use. Every time you look at a talisman, your mind will recall the original intention of its use, until wearing it becomes a necessary ritual. I have a little more, if desired.
Most people don’t realize that the original Christians wore scarves over their heads. Growing up in my church we would put a lace covering over our hair or wear a hat. I intend to start wearing hair coverings. I love the modesty.

THANK YOU so much for your tutorial and explanation!! I was one of the people who requested this video. I did not know about the inner tube-like head covering which then helps keep the outer scarf in place! I was trying to experiment at home with covering my head and the scarf kept slipping off and also shifting all over the place and I was becoming discouraged and that is because I did not know about the inner covering. Im Arabic Orthodox Christian, i always get Muslim or asked. 99% of Christian women in America do not wear, but it is common of course in Middle East and Eastern Europe Christians.
Protestants, Catholics and other Christian denominations do not wear veils anymore as they are free, while Orthodox do it still, but I love the Orthodox livelihood.
Yes, thank you I've always felt it right to wear my head covering during the entire day because scripture tells us to always be in prayer and if I'm out without my head covered and want to pray I wouldn't be able to until I go home to cover my head, this reason I'm always head covered so no matter where I am I'm able to pray.

I love your basic low-maintenance tutorial! My only concern is that the long sides hanging down could get in the way, get dragged through food/mess, be pulled by baby hands, possibly be dangerous around motorized appliances, etc. At home I usually just don't wear a covering at all and save it for going out in public. But maybe at home I could try an underscarf or something like that.

I play with different to wrap the 2 ends once I tiethe first knot. I wear mine full time, as I ferl strongly convicted that my head should be covered for the outside world. Just like I wouldn't be caught in my pj's or bathrobe when I answer the door even for package deliveries, I do not want my head uncovered. My husband approves either way, whether I cover at home or not., so that's something I chose to do. But I'm lije you, in that I don't want the tails of my head scarves to hang over my shoulders long and get in the way. My triangle scarves are different. I wrap the long ends around my head for extra security and double knot them in the back and let the tails and tge center point hang down in the back. And none of that gets on tge way at all when I go about my day. I fo need to look in the mirror to see what I'm going, but I'm all about qick and easy.
I've recently started headcovering. I usually use the wider headband type of coverings, but I feel like I should be covering a little more of my head. I love this type of covering, I think it looks beautiful. Where did you find your infinity scarf? Pliny says that he needed to consult the emperor about this issue because a great multitude of every age, class, and sex stood accused of Christianity. “They were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god, and bound themselves by a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft or adultery, never to falsify their word, nor deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up; after which it was their custom to separate, and then reassemble to partake of food - but food of an ordinary and innocent kind.”

Second, their worship was directed to Christ, demonstrating that they firmly believed in His divinity. Furthermore, one scholar interprets Pliny's statement that hymns were sung to Christ, "as to a god", as a reference to the rather distinctive fact that, "unlike other gods who were worshipped, Christ was a person who had lived on earth." If this interpretation is correct, Pliny understood that Christians were worshipping an actual historical person as God! Of course, this agrees perfectly with the New Testament doctrine that Jesus was both God and man.
You may have heard of the scholar Flavius Josephus who mentioned James as being the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, which matches what Paul said calling James “The Lord’s brother” and there is another document that Josephus may have written which goes:
“About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he ... wrought surprising feats.... He was the Christ. When Pilate ...condemned him to be crucified, those who had . . . come to love him did not give up their affection for him. On the third day he appeared ... restored to life.... And the tribe of Christians ... has ... not disappeared.”
Now it’s up to debate wether this is the entirely original document of what Josephus wrote, or if a Christian had edited it. But regardless he wrote about the Lord Jesus Christ. Wether it was negative or positive like the possible document is. Anyways there are many other statements, documents, letters, and writings of all sorts from the ancient world talking about the Lord Jesus Christ and there is not one question if He was a real person or if He was crucified and went missing from the grave. That is clear as day, He is a real person, was crucified, and went missing from the grave. And He did rise from the grave. And for more evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ, there’s the Bible and you see there is no evidence the Bible is corrupted, a lie, created by the Roman government, folktale. It is the recount of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, now wether you want to believe it is up to you. And what profit was there in spreading Christianity, All the early Christian suffered persecution, beatings, and were killed. Another Scholar reported that James the Lord’s Brother was thrown off a building and then stoned to death for spreading the Gospel in Jerusalem. These people went to great lengths even giving their own lives for the Adon Jesus the Christ.

I remember getting a strong feeling to start wearing head coverings/scarves, but I always hesitated. Finally I got the courage and ever since I wear scarves, I have a big lace headband I use for work that covers my head as well. I've had comments my grandma actually called me gypsy and a customer (when I wore one of my nice scarves) said something about pirate. Im even starting a collection of scarves that I found at DD's or thrift stores.

I just ordered my first veil! I’ve been praying about this for almost a complete year but have been to worried about what others thought to actually pursue it. Today I decided to mention it to my dad and he was completely supportive! I have talked to my school friends and they are all supportive as well! Veils also protect against the summer sun. I started because my grandma got skin cancer on her scalp. When I don't wear solid headscarves in the summer my scalp burns
I just kicked off 2024 wearing a veil!! I felt compelled to cover about 3-4 months. I do homeschool so I’m excited. My friend doesn’t really know but i haven’t talked about it with her.

I'm a Catholic teenager, and I am preparing to consecrate myself to Mary, through Saint Louis' consecration of Jesus through Mary. I've always wanted to veil after seeing our Muslim sisters and religious Sisters so happy with the veil. I support any woman, regardless of religion, who wears a head covering. It's such a strong character move. I don't care if someone wears a handkerchief or chooses to cover their face, I support that.

Why would god make you ashamed of any part of the body he created for you? And why is it only women that feel shame? Absolutely we are free. Free from the need to keep the requirements of the law to obtain righteousness before God. But headcovering is not done to earn 'righteousness points' with God. It is a symbol of our submission, an external expression or symbol of what is true in our heart and what we believe, signifying we agree with God in relation to His created order in regards to gender roles, headship and submission.

Thank you so much for this video! I've been covering as a Christian for about 5 years. I used to do all the fancy wraps with multiple scarves, huge volume, headbands and pins, and all of that. Then I took all kinds of time taking pictures and editing to show it all off for my headcovering FB friends. It consumed my days and ate up all my funds. Well, about 8 months ago, God convicted me about this prideful thing I was mired in. I quit the FB group which, although filled with such nice people, it was a source of temptation and pride for me. Then I gave away the majority of my scarves and volumizers. And now I feel a deep desire to wrap with beautiful simplicity. This feels like God's Grace. I like that you considered your husband's approval for your headcovering style. Just recently my husband did not like one of my coverings (a large blue handkerchief style). I asked him which one he preferred he replied that he liked the color and shape of my scarves. So I use those ones now. I think your style is simple and elegant. God bless you 🙏 ❤

@@janitaj.9383 if you think God is calling you to veil at all times, then do it! it used to be the social norm for a woman to not leave the house without putting her veil on, and this is a tradition that would have been followed by perfect role models such as the Theotokos and her sister St Elizabeth. So from one Orthodox Christian to another, i'd fully recommend going with your heart on this one.
As for material, i'm a man so of course i don't veil but my girlfriend has very curly hair and sometimes veils so i've had to learn all about to best materials to take care of hair for when i want to buy her headscarves, and i recommend silk or satin the most - but feel free to do your own research and experiment with it, if you have straight and low maintenance hair you'll probably be able to get away with most things but, especially since you're going to be veiling daily, it's probably worth investing in a good silk or satin headscarf (i say investing, they're not even that expensive really)

It is refreshing to see that you put so much thought into Christian headcovering. That to me is what is important. You wear it with purpose. Not out of tradition, but out of trying to follow scripture. I too am covering my head and have tried many different styles. It has boiled down to a simple scarf throughout the day, hats when working out in the garden or wool hats when camping in cold weather. When I am praying in the presence of the Father, I veil with covering my full head, neck, and forehead. I also wear turban style when I am working in my home to keep my long hair out of the way. I am wearing it for exactly the same reasons you are. It is a reminder to me to be humble, meek, quiet, and gracious as our Heavenly Father wishes His women to be. Unfortunately, it draws attention to me. I stand out from the average woman because of my headcovering and modest plain clothing. Most people can see that I am on a religious path. Many think I am Muslim. I find that mostly women are offended by it, especially Christian women. I think it convicts them and they are defiant. I have decided to please God rather than man and follow Him wholly. I am so blessed to be finding my way back to true Christianity.

If we follow those who subscribe to the doctrine of women wearing veils, then it can be argued that the most often cited verse is 1st Corinth. 11:5, which states:
“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”
According to many of those who believe women ought to wear veils this verse supposedly implies that a woman’s uncovered head is a woman who does not wear a veil. Such a woman is either dishonoring God, their own physical head or her husband for failing to wear it which implies that they are in disobedience. Some have gone so far as to say it is a sin. Another assumption is that the woman being referred to already has long hair and since they conclude that the covering is a veil then it must be referring to an “additional” covering otherwise it would clash with verse 15 stating that God gave women long hair for a covering. Another conclusion is that women ought to be covered ONLY when praying and prophesying which would make it seem as though it were something that can be placed on or taken off like a veil. You’ve probably noticed by now it takes several assumptions for them to reach the conclusion that women ought to wear a foreign object on their heads, despite the lack of evidence.
* Does the Bible really give a clear command that women should wear a veil?
The first thing that everyone must understand when talking about this topic is that it DOES NOT say the word “veil “or any other physical headwear, as far as the KJV is concerned. It surely mentions that the woman’s head should be covered no one disputes this but it does not say that it should be covered with a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or any other specific headwear. The verses in question within 1st Corinthians 11 mention the words, cover, covered, uncovered, and covering, but that does not mean we can translate this to mean a veil, a shawl, a bonnet, a cap, or anything else similar. In fact, it would seem more like an adverb rather than a noun. Nevertheless, the word “cover” is often unfortunately interpreted by head covering promoters to mean a veil above all other types of headwear, even if there is no evidence to prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. To do so would mean that one is trying to read more into the verse than what is actually stated and is not truly seeking an exegesis of the Scriptures.
As I mentioned earlier some will lay claim that they must be referring to a physical head covering because the Scriptures seem to indicate that there are two exclusive conditions in order to wear one and that is when a woman is either praying and/or prophesying. But does this interpretation stand up to logic?
If we were to believe that under certain conditions a woman ought to wear a physical head covering, then it stands to reason that under OTHER conditions a woman should be able NOT to wear one. Allow me to expand on this if you will because this is very important.
If you are going to make the argument to prove your point that a woman ought to wear a veil because the Bible supposedly claims that women ought to wear a veil based on two conditions, then it is only logical to understand that any other condition would ALLOW them to be without one; for example: if the woman is speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc.
Now if a head covering promoter should deny this, meaning that the woman should wear their “veil” under other conditions then they would be admitting that there aren’t really “two” conditions thereby nullifying the two-condition argument.
Please note that the belief in women wearing veils for many groups hinges on this “two-condition” argument because if there were actual conditions then it would seem as though the covering were something that can be placed on or taken off. But keep in mind that it does not literally or EXPLICITLY say anything about putting something on or taking something off. Veil promotors get this belief based on what they believe to be IMPLIED in the scriptures and not by a direct understanding. Many people like to believe this because they ASSUME that praying and prophesying are two conditions instead of seeing them as mere examples.
* Praying and prophesying were meant to be viewed as examples, not conditions…
Now I can understand how someone can mistakenly conclude praying and prophesying as conditions in verse 5, on the surface, but once you read the rest of the verses in context one cannot reach that conclusion. For example, if the strongest argument is because there were conditions for women to wear veils because of verse 5 then why don’t we hear the same thing spoken of about men in verse 4?
“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.”
Normally we do not hear the argument that men ought not to have their heads covered exclusively under two conditions as we hear for women as to why they should. I think it is because that would imply that they CAN have their heads covered under other circumstances like the examples I mentioned before as in speaking in tongues, interpreting tongues, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc. But I suspect a veil promoter would not go along with this.
Then there is verse 7:
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.”
So, there seems to be another reason for men not to cover. Therefore, if the reason for men not to cover their heads in this verse is because he is the “image and glory of God,” then why even mention praying or prophesying in verse 4? Should he not be covered under any condition because of verse 7?
Verses 4 and 5 are basically the same except for whom they are directed yet when one hears the arguments by veil promoters it is typically about how verse 5 is conditional for women yet for men in verse 4 it is usually not spoken of. Isn’t it more likely that Paul was using the words praying and prophesying as examples in both verses?
We can also get a sense that Paul was referring to praying and prophesying as examples if we read verse 13 when it only mentions the word praying and NOT prophesying.
“Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?”
If there were only two conditions, then why would he leave out prophesying? We can’t say he got tired in his writing as he mentioned both words in verses 4 and 5. So, what can we say about this? Just that Paul was giving us a couple of examples of how doing something HOLY or GODLY does not look right if the woman is uncovered, meaning not covered in long hair and the same goes for men when their heads are covered in long hair since that is exactly one is supposed to understand when reading verse 14.

In that case, we should be asking when they are referring to “covered,” “cover,” “uncovered” and “covering” is: Are they referring to long or short hair or some kind of foreign object that goes on the head? Some will even say all the above, but if we carefully examine verse 15 it would seem that we would be getting a clearer picture of what was being referred to in the earlier verses when it mentions the words, “covered,” “cover” and “uncovered."

If the covering is long hair, then the words “covered” or “cover” (which are synonymous with “covering”) should be understood as long hair as well. If that’s the case, then to be uncovered would mean to have short hair. If so, then we can get a better picture of verse 4 when it says that it is shameful or dishonorable for a man to pray or prophesy with his head “covered.” Note the similarity to verse 14 that’s because they are both referring to being covered in LONG hair.
* You Should Naturally Know Right from Wrong by Just Looking….
If these verses do not move you yet then here’s one that should definitely blow your mind. Paul asks you to make a judgment call in verse 13 as if one should naturally see a problem because he asks you to:
"Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"
Paul is asking us to make a judgment. Based on what? The only option is based on observation. Therefore, if to be uncovered would mean to be without a veil, then one would have to explain in detail why a FABRIC VEIL would pop up in the average person’s mind when observing a woman praying. Why would you or I look at someone and think that a veil (or any other foreign object) is missing? Someone needs to explain this logically. This is very important so please don’t dismiss it.
Be honest with yourself do YOU really believe that the average person will look at an unveiled, praying woman and naturally think a VEIL is missing? Are we to assume that Paul expected the average person to have instilled within them the idea that a foreign object is missing from a woman? I have never seen or heard anyone say something like: "What a shame she is not wearing a veil on her head?” after looking at a long-haired, praying woman. To so do would be ludicrous. One would have to be literally BRAINWASHED to think that the average person would EVER think that a SEPARATE UNNATURAL OBJECT such as a veil would be missing on a praying woman’s head. There is no NATURAL or NORMAL reasoning to make such a judgment. But if the word “UNCOVERED” were to mean "SHORT HAIR." then it would make LOGICAL sense. For if I were to observe a woman who has a short haircut doing these holy things as we read in verse 5, then I can naturally judge (by sight) that something doesn’t look right. I think can say with some assurance that many of us have done double takes when looking at a woman with short hair especially if we are looking at their backs to confirm whether the person was male or female. It seems like a natural reaction especially when we were young.
Also, the very next verse continues this line of thinking that things should be obvious to understand by mere observation.
"Doth not even NATURE itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him." 1st Corinthians 11:14
Note that verses 13 and 14 are two consecutive questions both of which ask you to NATURALLY or NORMALLY ASSUME or JUDGE that there is something wrong: whether it be OBSERVING a woman’s uncovered head (a.k.a. short hair) while praying or OBSERVING a man having long hair.
In addition, by using the word “NATURE” one can’t even use the excuse that perhaps they were expecting only Christians to see something different. Clearly, if “nature” teaches us that something looks off then it must be including all of mankind as nature teaches all of us both Christian and non-Christian.
I would like to also add that these verses are NOT jumping from the discussion of a “veil” in verse 13 and then suddenly to “hair” in verse 14 like some would like to argue because you will note that verse 15 refers again to the woman which FLAT OUT STATES the “covering” is to mean “long hair.” Therefore, there is NO EXCUSE to not understand the previous verses are referring to hair length. By this, we can understand verse 4 which states that it is shameful or dishonoring for a man to pray or prophesy with his head covered as I previously mentioned.
I should note that verse 4 in NO WAY implies that the covering on the man can be placed on or taken off, like some like to argue, due to the aforementioned false interpretation that the verse is exclusive to two conditions instead of seeing them as two examples. As mentioned before this verse simply states that it is dishonoring if a man does something holy or godly like praying or prophesying while covered in LONG HAIR.

I confess, I never thought of the veil as being because we are brides. I have tried the turban, and I absolutely cannot tie them and get them to stay on, so I finally just decided veiling is for me, with either a headscarf, a long scarf, or the traditional lace veil. I went through a time when I was wearing hats, but now I think that they smack of wearing a crown also and will not be wearing them anymore to church. Thanks for this video, it is very informative. I recently tried to wear head coverings this year and my goal is to get over my fears of people looking at me funny and wear it full time! I am Christian woman and I have done a lot of research on head coverings and how it really used to be such a common thing up until feminism unfortunately. I'm from Malaysia and I used to veil in church, fell out of faith, left the church for many years. You don't look like a Muslim, you look like a believer ♥️ ... 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved.
6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.
@@user-iz8np3vv4i We are meant to keep our hair long based off these verses, but also to cover our heads. 1 Corinthians does also say, "15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering." but I don't think that is to negate the previous verses about covering the head while praying or prophesying because you can't have long hair and only cover the head while praying and prophesying, you'd have it covered all the time if it just meant hair.

During Prayer, it is said in islam, and obviously in Other religions too, do not kid me, that the Angels come to the people that are praying and collecting information about what they did.

I have been going through a great deal I had a accident at work and I started praying for God direction and I kept getting the thought to veil my head I thought I was going crazy until I I went in 2 high end stores both women that assisted me head was covered I knew it was direct confrontation from God. I have been in a better spiritual place since God is Awesome

I didn't even know that Christians covered their hair with veils until last year and I had religion classes in school (because I'm living in Austria) and it's so beautiful, I feel like everyone should at least try veiling, Christian or not (I'm an ex Christian and neopagan witch btw).

For those interested, it's covered (pardon the pun!) In 1 Corinthians 11
My husband and I have studied the Greek a length and the word used for "covering" is translated back to your hair is your glory "for a covering" or "to be covered". I just don't want others investigating this to be mislead. The main purpose of the whole chapter is setting up God's authority and structure in marriage and instructing us how to pay respect to this. Our husbands and God.
The practice only ceased largely in the women's liberation movements of 1960s. I feel that we are not "finally" smart enough in the last 50-60 years to have finally "got it right" when our church predecessors we're covering in the new testament era for almost 2000 years.
I don't mean to be argumentative, just shining light on the truth.

Not sure what you mean. You don't have to cover your hair, as if
it is sinful or for some other reason, if that is what you're saying. So not sure what you mean.
This is something I also post sometimes:
If a woman needs to touch and pick up something physical, before
acceptable communication with deity can happen, that would make
the fabric covering a talisman. Though the woman would not believe
she is using a talisman.
talisman (basic definition)- a piece of clothing (or other physical object) that is
believed to have spiritual (or magical) properties. The object will align
with your intention for its use. Every time you look at a talisman, your
mind will recall the original intention of its use, until wearing it becomes
a necessary ritual.

Most people don’t realize that the original Christians wore scarves over their heads. Growing up in my church we would put a lace covering over our hair or wear a hat. I intend to start wearing hair coverings. I love the modesty.

THANK YOU so much for your tutorial and explanation!! I was one of the people who requested this video. I did not know about the inner tube-like head covering which then helps keep the outer scarf in place! I was trying to experiment at home with covering my head and the scarf kept slipping off and also shifting all over the place and I was becoming discouraged and that is because I did not know about the inner covering.

@@byzantineladybug9471 Google inner tube for head scarf. You can find many from many places. No matter where I bought mine from I washed them in Holy water and prayed over them when they came into my home. Sort of like baptizing them just to be safe. God bless.

Im Arabic Orthodox Christian, i always get Muslim or asked. 99% of Christian women in America do not wear, but it is common of course in Middle East and Eastern Europe Christians.
Protestants, Catholics and other Christian denominations do not wear veils anymore as they are free, while Orthodox do it still, but I love the Orthodox livelihood.
Yes, thank you I've always felt it right to wear my head covering during the entire day because scripture tells us to always be in prayer and if I'm out without my head covered and want to pray I wouldn't be able to until I go home to cover my head, this reason I'm always head covered so no matter where I am I'm able to pray.
You did a great job explaining how and why. I have never tried the magnets as I worry that I will lose one and a child may find it and swallow it. Have you ever lost one? A veil was not used when I was a child. Women wore hats and that was the norm at that time.Women also didn't wear pants and revealing clothing.

I love your basic low-maintenance tutorial! My only concern is that the long sides hanging down could get in the way, get dragged through food/mess, be pulled by baby hands, possibly be dangerous around motorized appliances, etc. At home I usually just don't wear a covering at all and save it for going out in public. But maybe at home I could try an underscarf or something like that.

I play with different to wrap the 2 ends once I tiethe first knot. I wear mine full time, as I ferl strongly convicted that my head should be covered for the outside world. Just like I wouldn't be caught in my pj's or bathrobe when I answer the door even for package deliveries, I do not want my head uncovered. My husband approves either way, whether I cover at home or not., so that's something I chose to do. But I'm lije you, in that I don't want the tails of my head scarves to hang over my shoulders long and get in the way. My triangle scarves are different. I wrap the long ends around my head for extra security and double knot them in the back and let the tails and tge center point hang down in the back. And none of that gets on tge way at all when I go about my day. I fo need to look in the mirror to see what I'm going, but I'm all about qick and easy.

I've recently started headcovering. I usually use the wider headband type of coverings, but I feel like I should be covering a little more of my head. I love this type of covering, I think it looks beautiful. Where did you find your infinity scarf?
