Love this topic. I definitely have money dysmorphia but on the other side of it now….I have waaaaaaay more than I need for the rest of my life…but I’m so conditioned to live below my means…I have a hard time spending money! :)
This is awesome to see and better understand the perceptions and social interactions that are influencing our relative financial status. I do feel like it is heavily influenced by social media these days. I have intentionally lived at a middle level, less than what I think of as rich. My middle class millionaire goal has been heavily influenced by social media. What I feel is missing in all the FI chat is balance with health and fitness as that is also important in retirement planning.
I personally see a lot of hyper preppers who focus on health and fitness in the FIRS community. They tend to hike and backpack and camp for their vacations. What they don’t tend to talk about is their root attachments and values around money balance. Everyone just wants more.

I was looking to shed a few lbs and a friend suggested buying a hedonic treadmill. Any thoughts?
