      you say Rob is big and Tough uh no he is not, he is known as the guy who cries like a Girl......"oh god he's killing me!" over and over." and doesn't try to fight back he just stands there like a moron letting Jason kill him. he did a terrible job of trying to advenge his Sister's death........ ok to be fair he lasts longer then most of the people Jason kills...with everyone else he one shot kills them all with Rob he stabs him over and over ....taking a long time to kill ROB......which is Amazing and I do not see a Big Red "S" on Rob's chest.

      the actress in part 5 who had the clippers shoved in her eyes.....her real last name is Vorhees. (like Jason Vohees).........and I heared the studio officals got a big kick out of it. and was one reason she was hired.......also in the beginging of part 6 Tommy's friend was actor Ron Palillo he played Arnold Horshack in the 1970's TV series "Welcome Back Kotter"

      You said in this video the Final Chapter came out one year after part 3 in 3-D. It actually came out about 2 years later in 1984. Do your research before you make a video claiming to know everything about this franchise which clearly you don't. Fuckin Noob.

    You earned my respect for saying “Sean Cunningham is a hack” he truly is, he left because he thought the Jason coming back in 2 was stupid and all of a sudden he comes back when he needs money and acts like he’s always loved the character and yeah he never gave Halloween credit and I wanted to slap him for it because he lied out his butt saying he just “had” the idea lmao

    • @crazyralph6386

      Yep, the greedy old coot also put everything F13 related in legal limbo for close to 6 years, just cause he didn’t want to pay another greedy old coot more money, despite having absolutely ZERO to do with the franchise after 1980.

    • @MovieDogg50
      @MovieDogg50 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Halloween didn't create the first Friday the 13th movie lol. However, for Jason, I think that Sean Cunningham just felt that the idea was too outlandish, and he felt like having Jason come back to be a terrible decision from a story perspective, and that is understandable. Also at least he came around unlike Miller.

    Friday the 13th 5 is my absolute favorite in the series. It's every Friday the 13th/80s slasher trope turned up to 11. Plus it's not out of the realm of possibility that there'd be a copycat killer in the area. It's cheesy and awesome.

    Ted White said during the making of Friday 4 that Feldman was a total brat during the filming. Which is why if you notice scenes where he is physical with him he added a little extra muscle to scare him, like when he grabbed him through the window. Feldman was genuinely terrified during the part due to the physicality of White. After which Feldman calmed down and behaved.

I love both, but Jason Lives is where they really broke the formula and took it in a new direction, for better or for worse, and the kills from this point were so heavily censored.

    Part V was actually the first one I watched! I was twelve and saw it when it came out in the theater back when these things were being churned out. I was shocked when it was revealed it wasn't Jason at the end. My first Friday, and no Jason. But I still thought it was a blast, and all the nudity made me feel like I was entering the adult world. And I've been in love with Debbie Voorhees ever since.

    Great job! This is my favorite slasher series for many reasons. I've honestly felt like the majority of folks when it comes to 5. Over the years, similar to your feeling with 6, I've had a much slighter change of heart on it but a change never the less. You bring up valid credible reasons for it not being very good. Maybe I'll get into the reasons at some point or another. Can't wait for the next installment. ☝️🙌💪

    I actually think that Paramount executives didn't mind Friday the 13th, I'm pretty sure it was just the producer: Frank Mancuso Jr. who was embarrassed. It is funny that he would make another hit that was just another slasher movie. But I can totally understand why he was not happy with it. You have to remember that most of these movies were just cheap cash grabs, and I can see someone who works in film probably does not want to be stuck on low budget cinema as they have higher ambitions.
    Also, here is a few good 5th entries:
    Furiosa
    Fast Five
    Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation
    X-Men First Class
    You Only Live Twice

    6 is my favorite in the franchise, with Final Chapter somewhere in my top five.
    Tweener Tommy Jarvis unintentionally revives Jason, who then kills more horny stoner teens and an elderly alcoholic "fart head."
    Part 6 was extremely campy, but that's the charm for me, just like my soft spot for Halloween Resurrection.
    As always, thank you for the consistently great content! Not sure what took me so long but I finally became a member on your Patreon!

    Part VI: Jason Lives is my favorite because it's so ridiculously over the top. It's a turning point for the franchise where the movies go from being the classic slasher/who-dun-it movies to becoming full-on supernatural monster movies. It's a new direction and creates a bunch of "new blood" to explore in the future movies which become more and more outlandish!

  • @MovieDogg50
    @MovieDogg50 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    This will take a while, but here is my rather long thoughts lol:
    The Prowler is one of my favorite and scariest slashers I've seen, and Part 4 might be the best version of the standard slasher story I've seen. It is unfortunate that he started directing action films instead. I love the Final Chapter, and I think that it might be the best 80s slasher film ever made, and one of the best slashers of all time. The cast is excellent, and I like the John Hughes drama with the character arcs, which makes the horror work really well when it does come up, because you actually want the characters to survive and succeed in their lives, and it makes their deaths much more impactful and slightly disturbing. Speaking of the deaths, they are excellent using all types of kills, ranging from subtle shadow kills to sliding down a machete. It has some of Savini's best work, and it is awesome to see it used on characters we grow attached to. Also props to Zito for screwing with the MPAA, because if he didn't then we would have not received the same amount of gore that we got. I just love this movie so much, and I think it should get more recognition as a standout horror film of the 80s.
    I cheered when you said Part 5 sucks. People act like "just because this film doesn't have Jason doesn't mean it's bad." Although A Nightmare on Elm Street was also porn director, as were a lot of 80s horror directors, but Steinmann mostly directed exploitation films, which lets be honest, is what most slasher films are, including this series. But yeah, almost all of the characters are annoying and the story is terribly structured. Demon and Reggie are amazing brothers tho. And the sleaze of this film just doesn't work at all. I've seen so many people talk about the boobs of a certain lovely lady, and it's like some Friday the 13th fans care more about hot girls than horror movies, they are like Danny Steinmann. Although it gave use Deborah Sue Voorhees, who is a really cool lady, who became a director, and seems to like this series. This film is pretty terrible, but people will have stupid reasons for liking it. I physically irked when Chelsea from Dead Meat said it was her favorite Friday the 13th movie, and funnier than Part 6. Speaking of...
    Part 6 is awesome. It is a good soft reboot, and Tom McLoughlin is such a cool dude. Apparently he liked the first movie, but wasn't knowledgeable on the sequels, but after watching them, he really had a vision, which was not really a thing with maybe the exception of Part 1 or 4, but those were still largely for profit. It is just a super entertaining and fun movie, and it has a driving force for a plot with two different characters with two opposing goals which makes it really accessible. And I think that accessibility really turns off a lot of fans such as yourself. Which is completely understandable, I'm not knocking you for that, and it is cool that you have somewhat turned around on it. But this accessibility also makes me resent the film as well, as this accessibility makes a lot of people believe that this is the only good film of the franchise, something I wholeheartedly disagree with. Part 4 is definitely the stronger film, but people don't think so for some reason, although Part 6 is my second favorite. Also yes, this is the first movie where you root for the killer, and I don't get why people feel that way with the first 4 movies. Sleepaway Camp started that trend in 1983. Also you might like it better in black and white, because apparently it is better experience that way.

    Friday the 13th Part 5 is one of the weirdest and bad sequels ever made. I'll never forget the infamous axe murder, and it was all for a chocolate bar. Even the reveal of Fake Jason makes no sense too. The cliffhanger is dumb too. Showing Tommy wearing the hockey mask, just to tease us for him being the new Jason. Is a dumbest thing ever. The reason I loved Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part 6 was because it decided to poke fun at itself. As soon as you saw the James Bond gunbarrel homage that begins the title sequence, you knew you were in for something different. Not to mention the dialogue poking fun in itself, years before Scream and Wes Craven to credit for it.

  • @Allison_Troy

    I thought I remembered reading in an interview (** I think in "His Name Was Jason") Corey Feldman was originally keen to star in Part 5, but with the Goonies and his career taking off it didn't line up so he spent a day in someone's backyard getting fake rained on and yelled at by the director so there would be some connective tissue to Part 4 -- one of the few cases of them attempting a tight continuity. Ironic. As kids Part 5 was kinda fun -- it was over-the-top, our parents HATED it more than the others. It was also kind of like a cartoon and didn't require great attention at slumber parties -- the new characters every scene meant if you missed something it wasn't going to hurt the story. Although rewatching it as an adult, it's the one I usually skip during my marathons. Part 6 was my first "drop the kids off at an R-rated movie because this theater will let us as adults by the tickets and go do something else without the kids" and it was a lot of fun. It's pretty anemic these days. I prefer the first 4 Friday the 13th movies for rewatches and generally don't revisit any of the later ones. They don't have the nostalgia or the fun of those first 4. Anyway. Another solid addition to your work, sir.

    The Tommy Jarvis arc as I call it is my favorite portion of the Friday the 13th franchise. The Final Chapter is awesome and probably my second favorite overall F13 movie. The first being Jason Lives. I love how he is now a freak of nature zombie and the movie has some of my favorite kills. I agree that the ending was bad but not the worst. I heard everything you said about A New Beginning and I respect it but it doesn’t change my mind on enjoying this movie lol. I can watch this 5th entry any day of the week over the 5th installments of Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween. I love horror movies with a little nudity as long as the women are comfortable in doing so and Reggie survived with hot ass Pam. In my mind watching New Beginning, I’m thinking they were setting the movie up as a who is the real killer because a few of the men in this movie were sus lol. Anyways, glad you covered this part of the franchise. I’m fond of all three movies. The next ones you’re covering next not so much 😂.

    The Final Chapter is my favorite film of the franchise and one of my top favorite horror films of all time. It had a great way to end the franchise, though due to the money it made as well as the glance Tommy gave, the franchise went on and Tommy Jarvis returned two more times in giving us the Tommy Jarvis trilogy in the Friday the 13th franchise. Also, Part IV came out 2 years after Part III since III came out 1982 and IV came out 1984. Small thing I know, but I’d rather say something fairly calm rather than some “ackshually” dork going on some long spiel on getting something wrong and being a jackass in the process. Anyway, I’m really enjoying these videos, keep up the great work man. Take care!
