  • We took 4 days to cover 413kms from Calgary, Alberta to Kindersley, Saskatchewan. They were long days often fighting a strong headwind or crosswind!
Total distance pedaled now is 2017. :)

You folks are amazing. I took your advice and watched Arthur and Dawn. Binged the whole ride. I just don't know how people can sit on a bike for 90-100+ K. I can only do max 50 and then I need a few days to recoup. Their ride was pretty scenic and they didn't camp at all and rode ebikes however they are 81 and 77 same as my husband and myself and they still averaged 100k per day VERY impressive for sure.

Another great episode...it was fun watching this one since I took this exact same route 4 Yeats ago. Safe travels!

Just wait for Regina... I've ridden into Regina 3 times and the headwinds were 100KPH for sure difficult getting above 12kph.

Merci! Nos aventures en cyclo-tourisme ont débuté en Alsace! On est d'accord, c'est à la vitesse du vélo qu'on peut bien apprécier le paysage!

I stayed in the same Drumheller campground. Worst campsite I’ve seen in all of Southern AB! The badlands are still one of my favourite places to ride a bike, the scenery is spectacular. Best of luck with the bald praries, it’s tough to comprehend the distances involved. Helps motivate me to plan this year’s trip, riding out to Bella Coola this fall!

Quick tip, put your glasses over the helmet strap. If you wipe out the glasses won't get caught between the strap and your face, allowing them to fly off and not smash in your eyes.

Hmm. Never heard that one. I've never paid attention to the order I put them on. I'll try to remember that tomorrow when we head out.

Fingers crossed for less rumble strips and no wind in SK.

It's been much better in SK. The shoulder is wider so we can look around more...and less traffic.

How I envy riding every day….Arthur and I sure miss that now that we are back to reality! The best cure for butt ache is actually not to let it rest a few days but to get back on the next day and in no time there is no longer any pain!

So true. I love the daily rythm if riding and will miss the simplicity when we finish.

What podcast was a favourite for this tough ride?

A Radiolab episode on square dancing. :)
Shannon wanted to play her Tabata workout playlist but I vetoed that one LOL
