I've spent a lot of time in Pattaya, and though I've only traveled there for the nightlife one time (the first time) I always maintained positive control over myself and my wallet. Hello Jeremy, You really have the pulse of what is happening! I made my first trip tp Pattaya 25 years ago, every single point you made is 100% correct. It was the same then as now, I became more aware when I started living there and watched the falong's do the "Dumpster Dive" from the 15th floor. To this day I have this longing to return to Thailand again. It will always hold a special place in my heart....
Hi Jeremy, This is a very informative insight for anyone going to Pattaya. You really put out some great stuff for your followers...& you care. Hope you're keeping well. G
Jeremy, as you said you have little personal knowledge of Pattaya. Most foreigners do not go home and send money to Thailand, most go home and save to go to Pattaya again. Some of your vlogs have good information but when you comment on Pattaya you are way off the mark regarding what is 'normal'.
Sorry Barry. I stand behind what I said. I also said explicitly that there are exceptions to every "rule" and/or situation. I am not suggesting that all of the people in Pattaya are sinister. I'm simply speaking on experiences I have witnessed. Normal life for people who live in Pattaya is much different than those who vacation there. This video targets the vacationers who go there to enjoy the nightlife. Thanks for the comment. I mean no disrespect in any way!
@@JeremyClodfelter No offence taken. I just have far more personal experience of the place, both as a tourist and resident. The peoeple who get scammed 'are the exception to the rule'
Barry Smith UCBC Hi Barry, I guess it all depends on what one means by being scammed. We all have our own thoughts on the word 'scammed' Personally, if I want to send money to an individual in Thailand then I would not feel scammed. It would be my choice & my choice alone. But the main thing for me would be getting to know that person, knowing that person is genuine as a person & in their need. This takes time. Would I send money to a Thai i'd not met & not spent time getting to know 'NO' & this in my opinion is were those that do come unstuck & eventually feel they've been scammed.
You are 100 on what you said here and even though I pretty already knew some of this stuff it is still really good to hear. Thank you for the reminder because I will be in the area soon. Great advice, muchas gracias!
Jeremy your videos inspire me to see this stuff up close and personal , I know there's some complications with long stays in Thailand so I'm trying to learn ways to overcome that. Keep kicking ass hope we can share a beer when I touch down
Everyone should watch this, it's basically the same I tell my friends. Pattaya is like like an open world game, have fun, leave your feelings at home, disappear and return a few months later etc.. 2 or max 3 day rule sounds perfect. "Exception rule" works if you stop looking at other girls (in pattaya !?) plus you have to deal with the family clan behind to your gf or wife.
What’s up Jeremy, Awesome advice! Very transparent and real info on the potential traps! I’ll be there next month for a few weeks and hope to have a brew with ya!
I've Been Going There Since 1982 And It Really Hasn't Changed A Bit Since Then,The Bar Scene That Is,Pattaya Is Alot Bigger Now,Back in 1982 It Was Mainly Just Walking Street,So Its Got Bigger and The Girls Have Smart Phones Is The Main Difference Nowadays....If You Are Experienced At Handling Woman You Will Be Fine But If You Don't Pull Woman Back Home They Will Chew You Up And Spit You Out.....Anyway All I Wanted To Say Was One Word Brings Everyone Back To Pattaya And That Is ATTENTION.....The ATTENTION They Know To Give You Is Addictive,All Of A Sudden You Will Have More Girls Or "Friends" Than You Can Handle....You Just Need To Be In Charge And Go At You're Own Speed....Pattaya Is Not Gonna Go Away And It Never Changes,Go Slow And Be Patient,Its All A Charade And You Will Rarely Or Never Know You're "Girlfriends" Secret Thai Life.
Hahaha! I was there as a 21 year old U.S. Marine in 1990. That place was off the hook! I would go back to Thailand in an instant. I wouldn't go back to Pattaya at this point in my life. The snorkeling and diving was cheap as, amazing and a nice break from the clubs.
I've seen a few of your videos and I usually tune out after a minute or so but, people really need to see this one if they plan to visit Pattaya. You speak the gospel here as how to view and respect a visit to Pattaya !!!
Thanks for the kind words David. I'm always open to constructive criticism, so if you would like to tell me what makes you only watch a minute or two of my videos, I would love to hear it. I'm open-minded when it comes to opportunities for improvement. Thanks again for the comment.
@@JeremyClodfelter Not to mock of disrespect your videos at all: I've just seen what your videos represent in real life. After a minute or so, I just nod my head in agreeance of what you're stating. Anyone considering traveling to Thailand should watch & would benefit from watching you're videos and opinions. You are spot on w/ your analysis of the interaction of Farang and Thai (women) people !
Always stick to one night only then move on. I had a drink poured on me, slapped and kicked from multiple girls in the same club. Switch up the clubs and change soi. Great video
i'm glad you didn't go to extremes cuz not all bar girls are only there to tear the bucks from your hands; there are, as you pointed out, cases where relationships have worked and are still going strong. i'd just say that that's the exception and not the rule. best wishes to you! p.s. are you overwhelmed with people wanting to have a beer with you when they're in town? i'll be there in mid-july....
Respectfully, this video pertains to the small fraction of people who survive by working in the nightlife/entertainment industry in Pattaya. I love the city and the vast majority of the people in it. Furthermore, the concept of this video was to talk about the reality that most, vacationing men would encounter in Pattaya. I judge no one. The working nightlife must do what they do to live and thrive. The can do their thing because they have that right. I just want to prepare people for the reality that can play out if one puts themselves in a position to be played. I hope you understand. I'll get back up that way soon to see some people. Right now, I'm working a lot. Thanks for the comment!
This is where I get confused , and I’m not trying to get on my high horse , I’ve had a great times in Pattaya , but that’s it, fun , then leave it behind , It’s a trip to am amusement park :)
I love this video. Specifically because of the thumbnail. My lady friend looks just like the lady in the thumbnail, so close that I had to show her and ask if that was her. Lol. She’s older now, but man it sure looks like her. Lol
Pattaya my second home, I will be In Pattaya this October, hopefully this trip i'll get to meet you Jeremy, Excellent Video, you speak the truth without being insulting, Dont get the feels in Pattaya, come to Pattaya for fun not for love, leave your heart at home, understand that its a game, both sides are trying to win, and for first timers to Pattaya never assume you brought enough money, cause YOU didnt... LOL, if your try to wing it, omg.... your in for a nitemare...
Awesome content! I could possibly like your self, an exception to the rule! I have been to Pattaya on 7 occasions. Proud to say I have never bar fined a girl or been tempted either. My reasons to travel their are purely to enjoy great camaraderie and watch sports. Like your self i do not drink alcohol either. My actual nic name is Cupa T, because among st all the anarchy and chaos you can find me sipping on tea. This is a awesome channel hope to catch up next year for a COKE.
Thanks JC for the education. I wonder if a guy wants a long term relationship with a Thai woman why not go anywhere but a red light type of area? I'll give one tip and that is BSN. Bachelors of Science Nursing. In the Philippines the odds of a relationship working out dramaticly improve and I'm sure the same applies in Thailand. Don't get me wrong I do not judge anyone going for the "escape" but if you want long term there is two different worlds.
Good advice. Short term needs to stay that way. Anything can happen I had a neighbor in Florida that was an entertainer in The Angeles and got married and became a devoted wife and mother but if I were looking for long term such as I found I would look for a woman who is a nurse working in a hospital or a longer term employee inthe mall or even a pice lady lady. I'm happy with my kind and beautiful Cebuano wife but we'd love to take a side trip to Thailand one day.
"it doesn't matter how you say it we all know where we are talking about" Now that is a great way to put it! not that you care but when I say it, sounds like this Patty-Yacht
Guys, don’t forget to negotiate with the girls on their asking price especially on the first night together. You can usually get 500 to 2000 off depending on the season, her looks, and her debt level (i.e. how bad she needs money), your age & looks. Those savings add up to more fun for you!
sometime after the new year 2020 I am going to 14 days in Bangkok at Bangkok Smile Dental Group and pattaya Kombat Group Thailand for 90 days . And then Tiger Muay Thai Training Camp in Phuket 3 weeks . I hope you can give me some personal info thanks
The reality of Vacation in Pattaya has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. The advent of the cell phone cam has, in the eyes of the government, damaged the reputation of Pattaya in particular and Thailand in general. Hence, a crackdown in Pattaya on the sex trade. I have been spending time in Thailand for over 10 years, so I speak from personal observation. Please pay very close attention to the admonitions here around the 5:30 timestamp... these 2 skills are the most widely taught and the most dedicatedly practiced and honed skills in Pattaya, Patong, Koh Samui, or wherever else in Thailand tourists assemble. I love your videos. They offer deep insight into the reality behind the facade. Thailand is a WONDERFUL place to be, just realize that it has teeth.
Quick question. Do you have to drink alcohol when frequenting any bar or can you just drink bottled water or soda ? I drink alcohol but never to excess. Also does any foreigner have to fear getting “roofied” at one of these bars ? When is the “slow” season ? How much bat per night for companionship?
No Alcohol needed. As long as you’re drinking something, whether it be water or soda, there should not be a problem. Never seen any problems with roofs.
Hey brother. Some of the ex pats in Sihanoukville, Cambodia need to listen to this vlog. Pretty much same, same happening there as in Pattaya lols. It’s hard to watch 🤣
I think Bangkok is much better in terms of all forms of entertainment. Also so is Sosua, in Dominican Republic. Pattaya is over rated 100%. Bangkok has it all. You mentions the markets, food places, etc. All is better in Bangkok. IMO
DoMoreLife but I think it beats Pattaya.Other than pattaya having a mediocre beach which Bangkok doesn’t have, can you please tell me how pattaya beats Bangkok and why people are continuously Drawn to their? Also thank you for your reply.
I was,for the first time ,to Thailand,8 months ago. i am 52 and not the kind who socialize .I traveled alone. I was in Bangkok for six days, and then for 8 days in pattaya. I am not a pub guy, as I don't drink. I went especially for the ladies. I did a lot of walking, but felt very lonely in Bangkok, in the big city. in pattaya I felt better, felt it was much easier to find a woman's company, it was more gentle, less rough. I am planning to go next year, and only to pattaya.
Sound advice my man, I only wish that you'd made video 4 years ago wouldn't have been chewed up and spat out, then again it was fun learning from mistakes been back 3 more visits gets better with each one, keep up the good work 👍
well you are absolutely right in every aspect ! go to pattaya to have fun and after that get into your real life jobs ! become a bad boy in pattaya have your funtime, release your stress but dont be stupid enough to fall in love with some girl there specially gogo bar girls or other bars otherwise you would be hooked and end up sending them money ! i also fell for it when i first visited this dreamland , but in a short time after sending a lil amout (thank god ) i understood their tricks and tacts ! thats a tricky world out there mate ! :)
@@JeremyClodfelter infact i ended up taking money from them ha ha ha when my credit card got stuck in atm machine in songkran in april this year ! came back to india and paid my lady friend the money back :) so you do find gems amoung them too !
If it is your first trip, you WILL spend more money than you think - bring at least 10,000 Baht (about $300 a day). If you are an experienced Thailand traveler who is good at budgeting, but wants to experience some of the nightlife- 5,000 to 7,000 Baht ($150-$210 a day) is fine. If you are a cheap charlie and sleep at 500 Baht a night hotels ($15), eat cheap street food, avoid the nightlife, etc then you can get by on as little as 2,000 Baht ($62) a day.
"Cash is King in Pattaya, bring plenty of it if you want to continue enjoying the nightlife for the duration of your stay". So that begs the question, "How much per day are we talking about?" On average - to stay at a good hotel, to drink, enter nightclubs, eat at restaurants and entertain a girl how much as an average ball-park figure would be needed? Curious, thankyou.
Its really ”up to you”. You can have a great night for 2000-3000 baht but the sky is the limit and and some people spend much much more. Its like asking how much a night in vegas will cost. It all depends on how much you drink, what you drink, what you eat, how many ladys and what type of ladys you spend time with.
Depending on the bar you go to, you could easily spend 5,000 baht in just drinks. Keep your budget and remember Pattaya is a fantasy land. Don’t get crazy drunk.
That is entirely up to you. What do you want to do? How many nights are you going out? What is your itinerary and budget. Answer those questions, and you will probably answer your own question. Thanks for the comment!
be the game or you are the game......many guys know it but when they get there they start to be a momboy and all momboy always try to impress every girl they saw.....an advice if you are broke up there you can find a part time job until your departure date...that is emptying the garbage
I have been married for about 17 years to my soulmate, a beautiful, slim and classy Thai girl who is 25 years younger than me. She has never asked for anything - instead, she has been the one in the relationship who has worked hard and helped support us after a severe back injury stopped me from working only a few years after we were married. If you want a “real” girl and a “real” relationship, with someone who isn’t out for your money, you can find far more loyalty and integrity with a Thai girl than you’ll ever find from a US or European woman. BUT - YOU WONT FIND THAT QUALITY FEMALE IN PATTAYA (OR IN THE THAI NIGHTLIFE) !!!
If you want a quality relationship with a quality female, look for her where the decent-quality people people are! You can find her where she works, at the mall, at local events where you’re not competing with loud music or similar distractions, or on the college campuses. That’s where I met my girl: walking between classes at the university she attended. She was 19 and I was 44, and my age was never an issue (which is the case for most Thai girls). In fact, my wife has always said the age gap is perfect for her because she wanted to be with a more experienced and mature man, not punkish guys her age. At a university, you’ll find girls who are serious about life and who plan to earn for themselves or their family, not be a black hole for your hard-earned dollars.
In my experience, the poster of this video is accurate in his rundown of the issues you will experience if you fall for a girl in PATTAYA, Patpong, Soj Cowboy, or any night spot that attracts tourists. If you want a crazy-fun, one night stand, then these places are great (if you have the money). But if you don’t want the characteristics of a working girl, don’t go where the working girls are and fall in love with one!
Pattaya is - "there's a sucker comes here every minute" and, "When you are wrong you are wrong and when you are right you are wrong", that's after 26 years of living and working in Thailand. I have seen expats and visitors come to Pattaya thinking they are street smart and I have seen them go, broke, and with their tails between their legs. Don't be deceived with that "friendly smile" as it quickly disappears if there if a dispute arises, especially where money is concerned. The points raised in your video not only apply to Pattaya but to the rest of the tourist areas in the country. In saying that, Thailand is not the exception, there are lots of tourist traps in the world which are the same.
I agree Thailand is not the exception, but Pattaya comes pretty close. I'm no expert on anything. These are my beliefs based on my own, and many of my friend's experiences. The points absolutely apply everywhere, but the game has a different edge to it in Pattaya. Just one man's opinion :)

Yep I will admit I was taken in by the attention I was "given" there. Luckily I didn't lose too much out of pocket. Always funny how Asian family members get sick so quickly after you meet their daughter in bar
It happens Ron.
@@JeremyClodfelter I was given that line😐🤔, i knew her for 2 days. I gave her about 200 baht, she got the point and did not ask again😁. I did not meet her in a bar.
They think you should full in love with them..lol and when you don't they scratch there head
with disbelief thinking this isn't in the little black book.
Thailand and life is terrific if you don't full in love ...
I really admire and respect your frankness about the scene in Pattaya. Some of the other cats on TH-cam selling smoke and mirrors. Great video.
Thank you! Much appreciated!
I wouldn't call "walking away with a marriage" "walking away unscathed". But maybe I'm just jaded. lol
LOL! I understand what you are saying Roger!
No man gets away from marriage by unscathed.
lol
Going there in just over a week. Some good advice in this video. well and truly taken on board.
Thanks Howard!
I went to BKK and Pattaya a few months ago . I was talking to a Canadian guy at my hotel who said the same thing about mindset , you have to realise what the game is . So your advice on mindset is great ..cheers . Thanks ..keep up the good work.
Thanks Steve! Much appreciated!
Add all the golf courses ( over 20 ) within pattaya ( max 1hr taxi to get there ) you can play for a reasonable price compared to back home.
That's true Sten. There are many golf courses around Pattaya! Good point.
Thanks Johnnie! "Fantasy Land" can turn into Hell for anyone who is not prepared. Thanks for the comment!
Been travelling through Asia for a long time and this guy knows what he is talking about , hit the nail on the head
Thanks Angus!
Very sound advice especially for 1st timers visiting Pattaya...!!!
Thank you!
Hi Jeremy,
This is a very informative insight for anyone going to Pattaya. You really put out some great stuff for your followers...& you care.
Hope you're keeping well.
G
Thanks so much G! Great to hear from you!
Agreed, and understood.
Barry Smith UCBC
Hi Barry,
I guess it all depends on what one means by being scammed. We all have our own thoughts on the word 'scammed'
Personally, if I want to send money to an individual in Thailand then I would not feel scammed. It would be my choice & my choice alone. But the main thing for me would be getting to know that person, knowing that person is genuine as a person & in their need. This takes time.
Would I send money to a Thai i'd not met & not spent time getting to know 'NO'
& this in my opinion is were those that do come unstuck & eventually feel they've been scammed.
‚Escape the reality of normal life.‘ well said. Escaping the reality of being kind of undateable.
Speak for yourself lol
You are 100 on what you said here and even though I pretty already knew some of this stuff it is still really good to hear. Thank you for the reminder because I will be in the area soon. Great advice, muchas gracias!
Always cracks me up with I hear people say “IC you don’t believe me me you can ask me friends”. Dude we don’t know your friends.
If you watched the Channel regularly, you would.
Good points! Thanks for the comment!
Great stuff, Jeremy. Lots of good, down to earth info.
Thank you sir!
Good line Jeremy. "Pattaya will expose your character". I will be there Wednesday, we shall see.......
It's true! Lol. Good luck, and safe travels to you David!
I don't need Pattaya to expose my character David, I know exactly what I am and I'm comfortable with it. Enjoy your time there.
What’s up Jeremy,
Awesome advice! Very transparent and real info on the potential traps!
I’ll be there next month for a few weeks and hope to have a brew with ya!
Thanks! Sounds good!
What’s the best way to contact you?
FB messenger, but I am very busy, so please be patient with my responses.
I have no plans to go there, but I like this guy's videos.
Thanks!
Another great video. Thanks.

Awesome!
Great Advice and you are 100% right id say by only me Watching tons and tons of Vlog on Pattaya thanks for sharing
Thanks!
I see. That's cool David. Makes perfect sense. Thanks for replying!
Be there Thursday for about a week (don't tell Pan lol) then going up North to meet my girls family. Take care Jeremy
Lol. No worries. Have a fun, safe trip!
Always stick to one night only then move on. I had a drink poured on me, slapped and kicked from multiple girls in the same club. Switch up the clubs and change soi. Great video
What did you do to piss off the ladies so much that they beat you up?
Thanks!
john smith nothing just went with someone else another night in Ibar
i'm glad you didn't go to extremes cuz not all bar girls are only there to tear the bucks from your hands; there are, as you pointed out, cases where relationships have worked and are still going strong. i'd just say that that's the exception and not the rule. best wishes to you! p.s. are you overwhelmed with people wanting to have a beer with you when they're in town? i'll be there in mid-july....
This is where I get confused , and I’m not trying to get on my high horse ,
I’ve had a great times in Pattaya , but that’s it, fun , then leave it behind ,
It’s a trip to am amusement park :)
It is if your mindset is correct going into Pattaya. Obviously, your has been. Thus, you have had good experiences.
I love this video. Specifically because of the thumbnail. My lady friend looks just like the lady in the thumbnail, so close that I had to show her and ask if that was her. Lol. She’s older now, but man it sure looks like her. Lol
That's ironic, but very good for you! lol
Another great video JC! Keep up the good work. You can lead the horse to the water, but you can't make him drink.
Thanks Neil. Much Appreciated.
Study the Game and learn from others. Know what you're getting into.
Good advise, overall.
Good point Bernie. Thanks for the comment.
Pattaya my second home, I will be In Pattaya this October, hopefully this trip i'll get to meet you Jeremy,
Excellent Video, you speak the truth without being insulting, Dont get the feels in Pattaya, come to Pattaya for fun not for love, leave your heart at home, understand that its a game, both sides are trying to win, and for first timers to Pattaya never assume you brought enough money, cause YOU didnt... LOL, if your try to wing it, omg.... your in for a nitemare...
Hopefully, we can meet up geo! Your comment is correct. Much appreciated!
geo max I’m headed over the 1st two weeks in October. Will be my 1st time in Thailand. I need my escape from reality 😁
Thanks for the comment Big T! Our interests in traveling are very similar!
I agree Paul. Good point!
Good information
Thanks
Good advice. Short term needs to stay that way. Anything can happen I had a neighbor in Florida that was an entertainer in The Angeles and got married and became a devoted wife and mother but if I were looking for long term such as I found I would look for a woman who is a nurse working in a hospital or a longer term employee inthe mall or even a pice lady lady. I'm happy with my kind and beautiful Cebuano wife but we'd love to take a side trip to Thailand one day.
SO true.. Long as you know the game and what it entails you'll be OK
Agreed Kevin!
Some good content there. Thanks for sharing.
Very welcome Davie!
Thx for this if i ever go on Vacation to Pattaya i will follow your recommendations.
Awesome! Best of luck, and thanks for the comment!
"it doesn't matter how you say it we all know where we are talking about" Now that is a great way to put it! not that you care but when I say it, sounds like this Patty-Yacht
Very informative. Good video.👍🇹🇭🍺

Guys, don’t forget to negotiate with the girls on their asking price especially on the first night together. You can usually get 500 to 2000 off depending on the season, her looks, and her debt level (i.e. how bad she needs money), your age & looks. Those savings add up to more fun for you!
Once again, appreciate the heads up. Thanks for looking out for the rest of us out and about. Keep doing what you do, man.
Thanks so much for the comment! Much more to come!
Excellent video and sage advice

Sure. I'll help as much as I can.

Thanks Addison. I'm glad you understand the facade!
You're a real and well balanced brother always good true info:)
Thanks so much Craig!
Best vacation ever! Golf is great. Balance your life and have fun!
I agree. Balance is the key!
When is the slow or off season for Pataya ?
Now through October
Very good video
Thanks
God damn it. Where was this video when I was in Pattaya 2 months ago😂
Had a great time though. Never seen a place quite like that.
LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and made it home safely!
Sweet vlog brother. Great advice.

Hey brother. Some of the ex pats in Sihanoukville, Cambodia need to listen to this vlog. Pretty much same, same happening there as in Pattaya lols. It’s hard to watch 🤣
Share the video with them. Lol
Ok, it will be my first time going. This video has made me worry. How much money should I take?
As much as you can afford to spend. That's a serious answer!
Yes the long play is very common
Love Pattaya for the seafood and beaches. I go yearly with my issan girl. She loves the beach too.
Great idea!
I think Bangkok is much better in terms of all forms of entertainment. Also so is Sosua, in Dominican Republic. Pattaya is over rated 100%. Bangkok has it all. You mentions the markets, food places, etc. All is better in Bangkok. IMO
I love Bangkok. It definitely has a lot to offer.
I am planning to go next year, and only to pattaya.
nice video. thx for sharing
Very welcome Chase!

How much would you say to bring on a 5-7 day trip
That totally depends on how much you want to spend. If you are a nightlife guy, you'll likely need, at minimum, $100/day in spending money.
As much as you are willing to spend.
Straight talk! Thanks!
Welcome!
Great video
Thanks!
Thought I seen you in Chiang Mai late October, were you there? You were walking and in a hurry
I've never been to Chiang Mai.

Yep
one question plzz would $5000 be enough for 2 week stay in Pattaya, Thailand?
That is entirely up to you. What do you want to do? How many nights are you going out? What is your itinerary and budget. Answer those questions, and you will probably answer your own question. Thanks for the comment!

It’s easy to get a foreigner in trouble for no reason. They can get a lot out of you for a small cost to them.

I’m not sure. Lol. I’ll have to go back and watch what I was referencing.

@@JeremyClodfelter Easy to explain that away.......she didn't know what day it was. 555
Naked Singularity
Well said & I totally agree on all your points. All the best.
I agree with the vast majority of your comments. What you are saying is common sense that many men need to hear. Thanks!
First like :) ... Keep up with great and informational videos! Cheers!
Thanks so much! I appreciate the comment!
Truth I couldn’t have said it any better!
Well said.
