As a New Zealander thank you so much for this video and I'm happy you love this washing machine! Being reliable as anything, they're an absolute staple in student flats and households across NZ
Excellent video!! Another (old) Kiwi fella viewing an American video on how to clean our own Kiwi machines. Ours is 10 years old. And it worked. Just as you said it would. Go girl, I say!!!
I am an Aussie and so love my F&P. Thanks for this video. We have followed your instructions to the letter and so far the machine is showing great promise.
Wonderful! So happy to hear this was helpful to you. Thank you for letting me know all the way from Australia!Sending warm wishes from the United States. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
As a 23-year-old who moved out only a few years ago, this is a really useful tutorial !! I never even knew a few months ago that there was a lint filter inside but it’s cool to know I can pull the whole thing apart
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video for us all. My machine is 14 years old. I noticed some laundry is being stained by dirt of late. So I will now follow your instructions and clean my Fisher & Paykel eco Smart washer.
@Ephesian289 How did it go for you? :-) I'm thrilled my video helped you. My machine is over 18 years old, and has NEVER failed me. I love Fisher Paykel! Would love to hear if your machine is working better now. Peace.
@@deeannmartin924 Our machine is working like new! Sparkling clean, in and out, clothes are brighter too! What an eye opener to view your video. I never knew a washer needed washing. Thank you again.
@@ephesian2894 So happy for you! Isn't it crazy no one really talks about this? My parents never mentioned "washing your washing machine" to me as I grew up... I only learned about it myself by accident. More people need to know how to do this. When I clean my machine, I notice my clothes are cleaner, also. Love my FP!
Thank you so much for this video. We paid $180 for a washing machine guy to come and check out why our machine was leaving gunk on our clothes - he checked the pump and hoses and that is about it! Needless to say the problem didn't go away. I came across your video yesterday, so my husband and I pulled apart our machine and attacked it with the pressure hose....it is sparkling now. Thank you SO much.
@Bronwyn Threlfo, Wow! That's great... now if only that washing machine guy would reimburse you your money, right? Maybe send him my video... LOL! :-) Happy to help. How are things working since a month ago? Would love to know. ~Dee
@wayle, Hello from Wisconsin! 🙂 Yes, my machine is now 21 years old, and going strong! 💟💟💟 I hope it lasts forever, I'm aware FP is no longer making washers/dryers. So sad. ~Dee
They do still produce top load machines in Australia and New Zealand, but only sell front-loading machines in the USA now as I'm aware, due to new efficiency requirements
Dee - You are my hero!!!! I was experiencing "gunk" coming out of my F&P washer and adhering to our clothes. I called a repairman who told me to put a tablet of a product called Affresh into the washer and run the Clean Up cycle. He said i should do it at least twice....which I did and it just made the problem worse!!! I called him again and he said he didn't know what to do. My husband (who isn't very handy) told me to go and buy a new washer. My daughter said - Mom - go look for a You Tube video....and I did just that. You inspired me with your easy instructions and calm voice. And when I heard you had your machine for 18 years - I thought - mine is only 9 years old - I can do this! So tonight, with my daughter's help, we took apart the machine and found more "scrud" that I'd like to admit. I NEVER knew you were supposed to take your machine apart and clean it like I did tonight. I feel like a million dollars now...and I think we just saved about $1200 (what we probably would have spent on a new washer). Thank you so so so much Dee!!! You are amazing and are now on my hero list!!!
@dlmboyer Wow, thank you so much, your comment made me well up into tears! I am so happy my video helped you and I'm glad you found value and it worked for you. Have you done your first load of laundry yet? Let me know how that turns out. @@deeannmartin924 Hi again to my hero Dee Adele Martin! I am on my 4th load of laundry and it is absolutely perfect!!! I am so grateful to you and so proud of myself!!! @Frank Czyzewski, I agree 100%! When I was looking to buy my first "grown up" washer/dryer set - nearly 20 years ago now - yes, I've had these FP machines nearly 20 years - when the salesperson said, "You can take it apart yourself," I was sold. Love, love, love my FPs!
It's me again Dee! It was that time again when the scrud was coming back into the washing machine and getting on our clothes and your video brought me through the process once again!!! My daughter and I got the job done in 2 hours and again I feel like a million dollars. Watching your video makes you higher on my "hero" list!!! Up there with Ghandi and Mother Teresa!!! Hope all is well with you. Enjoy your FB videos of your hikes in nature. I know we are kindred spirits!
Hello again!! I love hearing from you! 🙂 You know, I was just thinking a few days ago, "I should clean my washer drum again...." I'm adding this to my chore list! LOL. NICELY DONE!! GREAT HELP! Local repair guys want to charge$285 PLUS PART!! to come out and work on my FisherPaykel washer. What a rip off!! I just ordered the touchpad for $48 . I'll be doing a video when I install it Thanks for posting this! .
@308alaska, wow, good for you! Glad I could help you.... let me - all of us - know how things go when you get your touchpad installed. Would love to know. Nice to meet you here. ~Dee
Great tutorial! I inherited one just like this (could even be the same) and .. yeah it definitely needs a clean. Everything came apart just like you demonstrated. Even the inner drum was easy, it just sits on the same spline as the agitator so it just needed a firm tug and then it came right out. Only problem is that it's also pretty filthy in other areas, such as around the lid, control panel, lid switch, and down the bottom of the metal outside part .. basically everywhere else .. So .. Will have to figure that one out.
@rakeau, Thank you! I'm so glad my video is helpful to you.... in fact, I need to clean mine again, it's time! 🙂 I understand, it can be a big job, and so worth it. Best wishes to you, and keep us posted. 💙💙💙
It took several hours b/c it hadn't been done before. It is now sparkling clean. DeeAnn, again, thank you! Your precise directions to got the job done! And this is from an over 65 gal.
A great tip for anyone who owns a pressure washer..... Use it for this job! Not only did I not have to scrub, it is also extremely satisfying to blast off all that scrud. It also blasts out all the little holes that were blocked.
Thanks, DeeAnn. That was by far the best, clearest, most helpful diy video I've ever seen. I'm ready to follow your step by step instructions now and service my own washing machine. Many thanks!
Excellent! So happy for help and glad my video helped you. Yes, I'm sure there are as many ways to pronounce Fisher&Paykel as there are English dialects and accents. 🙂 I love the Australian accent, too! 💚
Great vid Dee! You just saved me at least a couple of hundred of dollars in labour costs alone! Very straight forward job and you were very clear with you instructions. Keep up the great work :)
Question I have new used fisher pay. Just washed my bed sheets and the spin was all on one side. Wonder if the spring loose is was still on the washer. What could it be ? Thankfully k
@kennethficken6187, Hello! Thank you for reaching out... while I am not an appliance repair technician, you may be on the right track. Check if all springs are in place.... also, I've had this happen with loads of large garments like bed linens, blankets, etc. Before the final spin, I pause the machine and adjust the load so it's even, then it spins out evenly. Best wishes, and keep us posted here. 🙂💙💚💚
Oh my goodness this video started me down a rabbit hole. Was looking for videos on replacing stabilizer bars and the agitator. Let’s just say I had way more gunk in my washer then you did, about 14 years worth! So embarrassing. But, thanks to you, I got it all tore apart and back together. Not quite as shiney and new as yours but better then it was. Thanks for the video and the motivation. ❤️
You did such a great job! I have the exact same machine. I am a New Zealander so the factory is just down the road from me, and I haven't really bothered with cleaning. Thanks for the idea!
Aww, thank you, Tiraroa, glad to help.... and you live near FP?? That's great... I secretly wonder what the folks at Fisher Paykel would think of my video? :-)
DeeAnn, you are a wonder! I have the identical washer and it isn't draining properly. In doing online research I stumbled on your video and at first though "What can this lady possible teach me!". However a few minutes later I was like "Whaaatt!!"! About the time you showed how the drum just lifts out I was blown away! I also love my Fisher & Paykel the clothes come out so dry the electric dryer finishes before the end of the next wash cycle. First time that's ever happened. Anyway great tutorial, so clear and concise. I humble myself before your expertise! That also includes your explanation of what that little spring is for. Ours was just hanging on that strut since the red plastic thingie had fallen off. I made a duplicate out of aluminum stock and now the washer is totally quiet!
@RichardSato Wow, thank you so much for your feedback and testimonial! Your words warm my heart. 😊🥰 I'm happy my video helped you in more than one way. Yes, I love my Fisher Paykel machines and I won't be without them. Also, I love teaching. Apparently this comes out in my video. Thank you for your kindness! 💕💕💕🙋♀️
@@deeannmartin924 Your tutorial helped me understand how all these parts work and I was able to trace my problem to a MOSFET, transistor and resistor on the control module. Can't find the replacement MOSFET so ordered a used board off eBay for $89. Hope to get mine repaired as a backup!

So glad it worked for you! Please, don't be embarrassed at all, most people don't learn such things.😊 The good news is that we can all learn new things.
Thankyou for showing this. What type of detergent did you have in the bath when you let the drum sit in it? And what detergent to use to scrub the outer drum in the machine? Thanks

Thank you. Your video was a great help. I have spent half the day cleaning my washing machine because it wouldn’t spin dry properly. No surprise the holes were full of muck. Have a great Christmas thanks for the info 🙂
I don’t use a cloth on the inner bowl because you can see that these holes have been punched through from inside and they leave sharp edges which are like a cheese grater and they’ll take the skin off your knuckles very quickly if you are just holding a cloth
I want to say thank you so much. U really gave me the confidence to take my washer apart and I just about passed out when I saw all the gunk and funk. Any tips on getting the drum out? When you started lifting that’s exactly what mine does. It will lift up to a certain point but then it gets stuck on a nut or something and it won’t come out after that. Maybe I don’t have enough muscles
@Erin Habing, Yes, takes a bit of muscle! I'm short, about 5'5", and I had to step on a low step-stool to get the leverage needed to lift the drum. Try that, or ask a strong friend. You got this, Erin! ~Dee
@Matowix, I'm sorry, I'm just seeing your comment now, 11/5/2024 - do you mean the center cup where you would add bleach or softener (I don't use either)? I'm not aware of a filter there, no. Best wishes! ~Dee
I got mine apart with the exception of the drum I can't get it to come out. Is there something else I should disassemble before pulling it out? That is the part of the video that you had paused at.
@Scheryl B, good question! Nothing additional to disassemble - I had to pause the video only to adjust the tripod/camera out of the way so I could set up a step-stool. I'm 5'4", and I needed height to get the leverage I needed to lift the drum - and use your muscles! Don't be timid, engage your core, brace your feet, and LIFT. 🙂 Heave ho! If you have a strong friend, two people should be able to do it. Best wishes, and keep posted, will you?
Just found your video because my 2008 machine just started to leak from the bottom. It's not happening each time I wash a load and I don't overfill the drum per the troubleshooting suggestion in my manual. Any ideas or have you ever had a leak which you repaired yourself? Thanks for any help!

Thank you. I just purchased a second hand portable washer from my upstairs neighbor. It smells so bad of cigarette smoke, especially when it's spinning. I will try this.
Yes, I bought mine here in the US back in 2003.... in checking fisherpaykel.com today, I'm not sure if they're still selling washing machines??? Oh, dear, this makes me sad. 😞 I'm looking to purchase a new dryer, not sure I'll be able to. I'll update here as I learn more. ~Dee 7/9/2024
@raizamae2501 Hello! Thank you for reaching out, however, the only tutorial I have is the video above on which you commented. You might check the Fisher&Paykel website for your model's user manual. 😉 Best wishes! 💜
Thank you for this video I just moved into my place and I have never had this brand. My agitator is loaded with "Scrud" I am assuming mostly from fabric softener it is coated in a sticky waxy thick layers over a 1/4 inch thick down the entire agitator, I can barely see the wing nut I wasn't sure that came off your video nailed it for me. Unfortunately my arm is to large to reach in the center of the agitator. I'll figure it out, this thing needs a massive cleaning.
@Ted Standish, yay! Glad to help... I'm just seeing your comment 5 days later, how did it go? I hope your FP AND your clothes are much cleaner now. :-) ~Dee
If you always use white vinegar instead of fabric softener, once you've deep cleaned it, you won't have a problem. At least every 5th wash should be hot. It should be deep cleaned at least every three months. You can use special washing machine cleaner with very hot water or white vinegar and hot water. Otherwise you will have the same problem on a regular basis.Pulling washing machines apart is a last resort and not always easy.
Hello thanks for the videos, I have the same machine and my clothes have a bad smell I Can only smell it on some of my clothes at it seems to be on the end of the clothes if that makes sense more on the collars, I cleaned out the machine like you did but I'm still having this problem its driving me crazy, I've also used vinegar and bicarb but still same problem...its strange because the smell is only on a small area of the clothes not all, anyway if anyone has any ideas or the same problem please let me know...thanks
Hello, @Drifta11, just seeing this a few days after you posted your comment, how are things going? I have no additional advice, except to suggest perhaps treating your clothing before washing? Perhaps a product that removes stains and odors? I use PreSpot from The Wellness Company, and it works great. Best wishes! ~Dee
There is one additional place that your smell can be coming from which wasn't shown in this video. On the inside tub on the inside bottom where the agitator would go into there are three screws that you can undo and discover a lot of grime. Hope this helps two year later.
Thanks very much for this, I've just gone through the routine myself based on your video, albeit I didn't take the toothbrush to every nook and cranny. I did struggle with what to do with the spring which in your vid was visible but not connected. I took off the top circle of the drum and moved it around out of the way with the spring still attached. At one point I moved it too far and the spring popped off that end. It was still connected to the bar running down from that corner of the chassis so I was able to pull it back up. But reconnecting it was not easy and I've stretched the end of the spring wire in a way I'm sure it's not supposed to be. In retrospect I probably should have removed the top of the assembly in that corner to slide the spring off the bar, leaving it connected to the plastic circle. Anyway it's all back together now and I'm doing a full hot cycle, hoping it all holds together on fast spin!
We had a mouse in our machine! Thank you for your clear demonstration. We ended up taking our machine apart because we leave our lid up to dry and a mouse chewed the edge of the plastic rim and had gotten inside the machine! It was confirmed that the mouse was still in there by filling with some cold water which caused the drum to move noticeably a couple of times. I then drained the water out using the spin cycle to pump out and stopped before it actually started to spin. We then fed a rope in to between the bowl and the outer casing (left for a few hours in the dark) to help the mouse get back out. Then we moved the rope to between the bowl and the drum (with lights out overnight) in case it was stuck there. The next morning we took the drum out to check it was not still there - thankfully the mouse did get out. We have seen some gruesome video's where people found mouse carcases/bones. :( Then we took the opportunity to give everything a thorough clean :)
@WendyIsGrowinginWisdom WOW.... that's all I can say.... if I were to find a mouse in my machine - or in my home - I would have fled! YOU are my hero for helping this little critter out. I would have called in the troops to take care of that - that's my mouse phobia speaking. Good for you!! Happy for you, glad to help, and I bet your machine AND your clothing smell a lot cleaner and fresher. Thanks for chiming in. ~Dee
Good video, congratulations a warrior lady, good cleaning by the way. My question is what thing did you wash to have broken the agitator blades in that way, they are normally very resistant despite the fact that they are made of plastic.
Hello, Guiro lain, good question! ... and I have no idea. 🙂 My machines are about 20 years old now, and I'm thinking it was good old wear and tear that wore out the agitator fins. Anything that moves will eventually wear out. Thank you for your compliment, tho! Glad to help. ~Dee
Thanks DeeAnn, great video. I wish I had seen it prior to doing exactly the same thing with what appears to be the same machine (GW612 is mine). Mine stank but it is years old and was never fully cleaned and brown all on the outside of the inner drum. Hopefully now its better that we did all the same things you had. The inner drum had fluid in it, which I assume is some kind of ballast, as it appears to be sealed. I was hopeful that wasn't the source of our mould smell. Thanks again, great job.
I enjoyed and learnt a lot watching your video of Dis metalling, cleaning and putting it back together, I got the same washer, exactly 18 years old, i got big problem with fluff smothering my clothes, I cleaned the machine up to the agitator part but never cleaned the drum, do you think I have to do all what you did, clean the drum to solve my problem or is there any other easy way to stop the fluff coming on to my washed cloths. Regards

@@deeannmartin924 so much better! I think I also did the same as you, soaked up the scruddy water with a sponge and then repeatedly drained and sponged until it was gone. One thing I learnt was to be a bit more careful in the bath when scrubbing...I ended up scratching the bottom of my bath as I flipped the drum horizontally to scrub. Lesson learnt!
Keep trying, Ella! I had to really use my strength to get the drum out - if you're short like me, you may need a step stool give you enough height to get it out. Best wishes..... let me know how it goes. :-)
I tried loosen the nut and still can't get it. I'm not short but climbed on a stepstool and also tried using pliers to hold onto it in case my hold wasn't tight enough. Any other options?
@s pro @spro Yes, this seems to be a common problem... I had to stand on a step stool to get the right leverage to loosen the wingnut. If you have a strong buddy to help, that might work? There's always calling a pro, AND I'm too stubborn to do that myself, hence my video. LOL. I hope it loosens for you. Keep us posted. :-)

Besides cleaning the drum is there a lint filter somewhere? Thank you. Mine is about as old as yours. Can hardly wait to clean it as I have blown three pump motors, probably cause it is so scruddy and linty.
@CMNW Ushers, not sure about any lint trap myself.... I recommend referring to the Owner's Manual, which you can find online. Keep us posted, will you? Best wishes. ~Dee
Very nice video DeeAnn and cleaner than the best repair person would do, but how did you not scratch the heck out of your fiberglass tub? The Fisher & Packel wash drum's drain holes in the stainless steel are as sharp as the tip of knives 🔪 on the outside. They will cut or scratch just about anything they come in contact with. Don't ask how I know🩸. You didn't mention that wash drum holds a lot of water in the base that doesn't come out even when you lift it out of the machine, that's partially what makes it so heavy and awkward getting it out.
@Stephan T , thank you! Honestly, I had no problem with drain holes, no scratches at all - I just made sure, as I lifted the wash drum out, that they didn't touch anything - including my skin. :-) I'm on the short side - about 5'4" - and I was able to lift this out by myself with one good HEAVE-HO.... if you're shorter, you might need a sturdy step stool or a friend to help. Others have commented about water in the wash tub, but mine didn't seem to have that problem. There was a LITTLE water in the bottom - maybe a few cups of water total? - and I soaked it up with a few paper towels, easy peasy. If there is a LOT of water left in the wash drum or the fiberglass tub, perhaps you have draining issue? Just a thought. Best wishes and let me know how things go for you, Stephen, we'd all love to hear back. :-) ~Dee
You mean the washer drum? It's a bit heavy, keep trying... It takes a bit of muscle. 😊 I'm short, and I had to stand on a step stool to get enough height and leverage to lift it out. As long as the center nut is removed, it should lift. Or do you have a tall friend who can help? Keep us posted, you got this!🙌🤩
@@deeannmartin924after 3 hours I got it out! I had to step on the middle and pull but it came loose, wiggled it a bit and it came out 😁 just cleaned the inner drum now to do the rest. It is absolutely filthy ! Second hand, obviously never been cleaned before so this is gross but satisfying, nearly the entire outside and inside was brown gunk
I really doubt you did all the hard work yourself without help. I tried to unscrew the agitator bolt but couldn’t make it as it’s too tight. Any suggestion?
@Zhang Ten LOL! I assure you, I did this entire job myself, no help, including moving the camera as needed. :-) I'm happily single, and I have to do things myself. You may need to use a step stool to give you height, and then you'll have better leverage, or ask a strong friend for help. :-) Best wishes, @Zhang Ten
I discovered a lot of black mould all over the drum and plastic liner tub ..YUCK. I'd make sure your work area is well ventilated, clean parts outside if its an option. I used hose, brushes, Eucalyptus oil and a natural lemon cleaning agent that's better for environment and left parts out in the sun to dry. I found the drum is not super hard to get out but its awkward to lift off the gear shaft and may initially seem heavier until it clears particularly if first time its been off since assembly. If you take it slow and talk to it nicely, it will unseat. Thanx DeeAnn for your helpful vid.
Good morning Raoul, so glad you found my video helpful! Yes, as you saw in the video, I also used Eco-friendly and safe cleaning products. I liked your comment about go slow and talk nicely, so true! 😁😁😁🙋♀️🌿🌱🌿🌱
Hello, Alyson Wheeler, thank you so much.... for me, the wing nut loosened quite easily. Because I'm short, I had to step on a stepstool to reach it and get the right leverage. Hope that helps. Keep me posted? :-) ~Dee
Mine is also almost impossible to remove. Gonna have to wait for hubby’s muscles to do this one. I did replace all four of the stabilizer rods so I get credit for those. ❤️
@@deeannmartin924 Good. Was able to to finally get it off. Was shocked at the buildup of junk in the very bottom of the washer. The part you can’t normally get to. All clean now, our laundry smells as clean as they did when we first got the washer. I do the vinegar wash every week now. Thanks again for the great video.
@@MegaMindyLou Fantastic! So happy to hear this! Yes, isn't it amazing how fresh and clean your clothes smell after being washed in the Fisher Paykel?💜🙋♀️
@@sarahwhite6677 I had my F.P for 19 years until the motor controller board burned up yesterday. I've had to purchase two agitators over the life of the washer. I just bought one last year and you may have if near Cville, VA.
@@tracynelson8038 Good for you for keeping your machine and fixing it vs. throwing it in landfill..... Don't you just love FP? :-) Nice to meet you here. ~Dee
My husband purchased a refurbished FP washing machine recently. I'll admit, I was not impressed when I first saw it because it seemed so different than anything I've known with Samsung and GE washers I've had in the past. What's more, I don't think the thing had ever been cleaned... probably why it was replaced! 🤢 This video was extremely helpful! Wish it had been my scrud to clean, but it came clean nonetheless! I ran one cycle of hot water, highest level, with white vinegar. There was a small amount of scrud in the drum after the spin cycle. When I had the drum in the bath tub, it sounded like there was water in the top "ring" (not sure what you would call it? Rim, maybe?) There was no obvious way to access it, though. I'm thinking there may be scrud in there. What are your thoughts? Run another cycle before adding clothing? Or maybe run a load of towels?
@Stephanie Mahan, just seeing your msg today, 5/7/2021. :-) If the top "ring" is what I'm thinking it is, you should be able to remove it - if memory serves, I address this in the video. There are small clips around the perimeter of the "ring," loosen those and it will lift off easily. Another hot water cycle with vinegar certainly can't hurt. Hey, keep me posted on how things go? Hope this helps. ~Dee
Hey, those rings at the top (and bottom) are intentionally filled with water to stabilise the machine during high-speed spin. Do not drain them as it will probably cause a lot of out-of-balance errors.
Yes, I love the 1000+ rpm.... when the cycle is done, my clothing comes out "damp dry." I can dry a load of heavy towels in about 30 mins. I love it! :-)
As a New Zealander thank you so much for this video and I'm happy you love this washing machine! Being reliable as anything, they're an absolute staple in student flats and households across NZ
@Hayden, indeed! Love my FPs, I won't live without them. Glad to help. :-)

~Dee
Hi from NZ! These SmartDrive washers are the best! My Mum owned one for basically my whole life and I've had one since moving out too!
I'm thrilled, and thank you for your rave review! 💜💚💜💙💜💚💜

Yay! Congratulations!🎉💐🎉 I'm so glad my video was helpful for you. ~Dee
lov the video and my machine looks stunning after a great clean and thanks for making it so easy.
Excellent, glad to hear this! Happy to help.
@blackvulcan3 You're most welcome! Glad to help, hope your machine is working well again - and smells better! :-)
What a helpful video. Thanks for your clear instructions.

Great video. Thank you for taking the time to make. On a side note, I doubt very seriously the old agitator was recyclable. I hope it did not go in the recycle bin.
@Flo In my case, the agitator was indeed recyclable. :-) I checked with my municipality before placing in the recycle bin. Indeed, when you're not sure if something can be recycled, it's best to check first. Glad you liked the video! Thanks for chiming in. ~Dee
Great machine made by an awesome New Zealand company. What I would suggest, install a lint filter. They don't come standard with the machine but can be brought online. You will see a major improvement.
Thanks for the tip!😊
Can you list the cleaning products that you used please? Thanks!
@stageleftguitar, I would be happy to share about these eco-friendly products, but not on this page - I'm a No Spam Gal - if you'd like to learn more, please reach out to me through my FB page (@healthjoyhiking) or email me at deeadelemartin@gmail.com. Most appreciated! :-) ~Dee

@Vickie Easther Thank you! Good idea about your missing socks, will you let me - us - know what you find?? I'd love to hear back from you. Good luck on finding your wayward socks! :-)
The best video ever. Simple, clear and precise instructions delivered charmingly and naturally. So well done Dee you should do it professionally. I followed your instructions step by step and voila it worked saving me hundreds of dollars. So special.
@marlene5393 Hello! I'm just now seeing your comment. I'm so sorry for my delayed response. I'm thrilled my video helped you. Yes, I love teaching, and that comes out in the video. Good work and congratulations to you, too!🎉🙋♀️
Thank you SO much for this video! One question for you - when you take the first metal drum out and scrub the white drum that it sits in what do you do with all that scrud filled water? (section 12:23 for reference)
This washer came with the house bought the house and I hated it, but now I think I didn't like it because it was soooo dirty! Once I get it clean I think I will love it forever! Thank you for saving me so much $$$
Would love to know the answer to this too
@@fernandoninjaskill I ended up sucking it up with shop vac- I don't think there is any way to drain it. Just remember to take your filter out of your shop vac :)
@@fernandoninjaskill Sorry for my delayed response to you, I'm just seeing this now (8/29/2021).... honestly, I'm not quite sure how I drained that scruddy water... I may have removed the white tub and rinsed it out in my tub, and then put it back.... OR - and I think this is what I did - I rinsed down the side with a *little* water, and then soaked up the scruddy water with paper towels. I love Ashley Walker's shop vac idea - I don't own one and if I did, I would have used that for sure. Thanks for chiming in, Maria! How is your machine working now, 2 months later?

@@deeannmartin924 so much better! I think I also did the same as you, soaked up the scruddy water with a sponge and then repeatedly drained and sponged until it was gone. One thing I learnt was to be a bit more careful in the bath when scrubbing...I ended up scratching the bottom of my bath as I flipped the drum horizontally to scrub. Lesson learnt!
Great video! How did you get the drum out? Mine is struggling to come out like yours was at the start.
I had the same issue too, we had to use a wrnch to get some leverage on it and I had my husband help
@@amnite1 Don't have to worry with it any more. It decided that it was tired evidently and decided not to spin any longer. So, decided to retire it instead of putting money into it. But loved it while it lasted. Have a great weekend
@@spro3347 Totally understand this decision.... I will rue the day when I have to retire my FP.... hopefully MANY more years ahead of me before that happens. Cheers! ~Dee
@@deeannmartin924I hated it but had to get a new washer. There was no hope.
~Dee
Your awesome, saved my day
Wonderful! Happy to hear my video is helpful. 💜💜💜
:-) ~Dee
I can’t get the bowl out 😢
You mean the washer drum?

@DeeAnn Martin Wow you are great! Yes I used tools to unscrew the nut.

:-) ~Dee

Thank you! Great demo on my model too.
You're most welcome, Rose Kemp! Glad to help.
My husband purchased a refurbished FP washing machine recently. I'll admit, I was not impressed when I first saw it because it seemed so different than anything I've known with Samsung and GE washers I've had in the past. What's more, I don't think the thing had ever been cleaned... probably why it was replaced! 🤢
This video was extremely helpful!
