      @@TofuAutoWorks your modesty fits the idea of you being a 'regular kiwi', but the quality and inventiveness of your creations show that you have 'irregular', outstanding talent! The degree of enthusiasm and admiration that your viewers show in the comments should be enough of an indicator to illustrate that.
      I really loved seeing such a practical application of the advances in technology of the last thirty years. Where carbon fiber turbofans were solely in the domain of factory race teams in the nineties, they have since trickled down to end up within reach of your average, 'regular kiwi' 😉
      Excited to see how things come to fruition in the next episode!

    Dial indicator, skateboard wheeled carousel, I admire all your thoughts and how well you executed them.
    All those comments about slicks have no traction.....idiots don't realize your soft compound warmed up on asphalt will give you insane grip even wet. Those crap talkers are haters of your mad skills...I recognize and appreciate. I too can spend hundreds of hours in the workshop instead of just watching reruns of Murder She Wrote!

    • @timecowx
      @timecowx ปีที่แล้ว

      Give it a shot! You can pick up something like the Ender 3 for under $200, and with TH-cam's 3D printing community I doubt there is any topic on 3D printing (and even CAD software) that there aren't multiple tutorials for. I have been distracted with other projects recently, but I got into it wit ZERO knowledge, even handicapped by being a bit of an idiot, and was genuinely surprised by how fast I started picking things up. You might be surprised how handy even the most basic skills can be when you just need a spacer or bracket or something and can just sit down and build it. Plus, the community is amazing about sharing the files for stuff they already designed. (go look at GitHub) Spend a few minutes whenever you can watching a tutorial and trying it, and suddenly you're printing stuff. It's handy, and it's pretty fun. If I could do it, darn near anybody can do it!

    For the 3D printer, you might consider trying hairspray instead of a glue stick. In my experience, the glue comes out very chunky and doesn't leave a smooth/even surface for your first layer to bond too. Hairspray, like spray paint, gives a nice even coating and leaves less of a mess.

    • @DrCoolHands

      With a PEI coated metal bed, extra adhesive shouldn't be needed. Just wash the bed with dish soap once in a while and wipe down with isopropyl alcohol every couple prints. May need a scrub with a melamine foam sponge to remove some oxidization.

    This thing has a killer stance. The look is there, to anyone actually trying to use 10-12 wide wheels in the front, as soon as they are on and your driving down the road, you now get to learn about scrub radius, and how it affects handling.
    Anyone who has done this knows how it drives,
    Every groove in the road, every bump, the way the car is trying to rip the steering wheel out of your hand.

    I'm going to start a SBC engine swap into a 1967 Mercedes W111 se coupe!!
    I plan on making an extremely oversized 4 bolt main 350ci engine to around 480ci with a stroker counterweighted and forged crank, sleeves as big as possible mated to a Porsche Tiptronic 6 speed paddle shifting transmission. Maybe a Jaguar independent rear end....HRE 22" billet wheels...all on airbags...
    To keep costs down I'll be doing most of the mods like you, slowly but with passion. I choose SBC motor over LS due to low cost and infinite selection of parts available...Twin turbo kit with quality intercooler sells for under $1,500! That is with Garrett turbos too!

      Plastic Filament arround 1,75 mm of thickness is extruded by some sprocket in a heater block that melt it. The same extruder is pushing both the dry filament and the melted part into a little cone named head nozzle. Basically you print a lot of 2 dimension layer : If you want to print a cube, you print a sery of square in top of each others and at the end, there is a cube.
