Is there a reason these are so short/rushed? It seems BONKERS to put in that much time, effort, pain, weeks of prep, footage, etc etc and just condense it to 14 minutes. It feels so rapid-fire, like we barely even get settled in to the meat and pace of it all. Just racing through totally new faces, job titles, tasks, locations for just a line -- more like an intro video or trailer.
(I also feel like you used to take a long, thoughtful moment to really explore the hard, serious issues within each job you're "trying on" - bc you really want to do it justice and at least explain with words what you can't know with your body in just a week. I know you've done soooo many now that it might feel repetitive or like people "already know", but each one is definitely unique and I know folks often watch them in isolation. To see "their thing". But you are also so in tune with people that you find the unique threads in everything.)
I think it's because statistically the algorithm favors videos less than 15/20 minutes and those are usually the ones with the most views. If it's too long a lot of people won't click on them, that's why a lot of the top TH-camrs seldom have more than 20 minute long videos

I'm so happy you got to experience the Army life a bit. I was in for 10 years as an audiovisual combat photographer. I also went through airborne school at Ft. Benning and also was attached to the Golden Knights for their annual winter training. I made their annual winter training video back in 1998. But I got to get 3 tandem jumps with them, they are so awesome. So I'm glad you got to finally experience jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, nice job Michelle! Go Army!
Is it just me or do these videos get shorter and shorter? I would really love longer challenge accepted videos. Like explaining the course properly etc. But maybe its the matter of not being able to show all of the parts since it might be a military secret or something? Either way love these videos and if possible can they be longer?🥺🥺🥺
Not all of it military secret. What the video described is of course what the activities are in the Army but they probably just did not want to show what it's like to be in 1 lol.
I agree with the comments on this one, I would have loved to see more, maybe a longer cut. It's probably hard for the editor to take so many parts out and chop it down as well so maybe it would help both the editor and the audience. It's also the fact there's so much planning and work involved behind the scenes I think it deserves to get the most. Even if this ended up turning into like a two-part video I wouldn't mind.
I feel like today's video was a bit too short for all the activities they took part in. I think it was too fast, everything happened super quickly and I couldn't really understand what was going on. I still love your videos, you're amazing !
oh yeah anyone who has done prior service or even police work ( we had a few of those in my company in bct) and they are quite high speed, they know the whole thing is just to keep your mental and keep going, every day is just another day.
Being a team exercise, I kinda wish there was more footage of the obstacle course - I kinda wanted to see more of how you guys worked together to get past the stuff that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do alone.
There's lots of swearing, people being at odds with eachother (at eachothers throats) petty differences and impending constant soldier correcting by DS (drill sargents) they wear and tear you down by punishing you and everyone around you until you get the job done which is called negative re enforcement which is something anyone can subject themselves to without having to contract themselves into the military, which operates in a very socialistic way where they punish the whole group for ones mistake and reward the whole group for ones hard work while pretending to fight for freedom, (freedom to choose which fast food joint you wanna eat at) that's the idea of freedom not actual freedom, otherwise they wouldn't use a socialist model to train them, pretty ironic huh?
I love how despite trying out multiple jobs associated with the military or government defense agencies she still doesn’t know how to hold a fucking gun.
I'm from Columbus GA. when I joined the army they had us go to Benning. which is outside my house lol, they had us do most of what you're doing as a holiday field day. 9 years Active as 94M. NG now
You have really made it clear that any one, man or woman, can do anything they put their mind to. You have been rejected and you haven’t gave up, you have been in incredibly hard situations, and you have pushed through and not gave up. You are truly such a strong and amazing woman that the world is happy to have, and you have showed the world such amazing things. And when I feel like something is too hard, I think of all the incredible things you do! Omg this is the most likes I have ever had Tysm
@@oliverbrandaris1415 Why even try to undermine her? Certainly not everyone can do boot camp. Whether in terms of physical ability or determination, the average person can't do half the stuff she's tried for the proper amount of time actually required to pass. Without knowing anything about you, I have a hard time believing you'd succeed in special forces training yourself.
@@lurategh Boot camp is designed to make you pass. It's a 3 month training process that you cannot fail. It shapes you into what the military wants you to be. Special Forces, though, is literally a "tryout", and if you can't cut it, then you fail. I certainly cannot pass Special Forces training, yes. What's your point? She couldn't either.
I was a Marine and while I was in college, my girlfriend went through Army Airborne School. On her first jump, because she was so tiny (4'10", 80 pounds) they had her lined up as the first jumper. When the green light came on, the jumpmaster said "Goodbye Smurf" and literally kicked her out of the plane. She ended up landing on someone else's canopy. While he was yelling at her to get off his canopy, she gathered hers (which had collapsed), threw it up and it (luckily) caught the breeze. She finished the jump unharmed.
@@tia8245 Yeah, when she told me I felt a little faint. Kind of like my mom when someone told her about things that happened when I responded to fires with the volunteer fire department.
My dad went to that exact airborne training building I even showed it to him and he had flash backs some good some bad he’s always told me stories and every year i come back to this video. Well done Michelle.
With your training in martial arts to act like Batman, as well as training to accurately act like other fictional characters, and your experience with what it's like to become part of the police, SWAT, FBI, and the military, you've become one of the most badass women I know, Michelle. Muggers in the streets better think twice before attacking you. I'd like it if you took a look at what it's like to be a fighter pilot or a Blue Angel. Hell, I'd really like it if you trained like John Wick. I'm looking forward to the day you might try out military hardware.
I think the same, it feels more like a: "Hey, look how cool the army is! Wanna try going to war and killing people? Join now!" And showing off guns when not too long ago there was a massive school shooting feels kinda disrespectful to me idk…
it was sponsored by the army. of course it is. they wouldn't show you any of the real suck that they put us through because they would never recruit people.

I love how the instructors/drill sergeants are friendly in the video compared to the real thing LMAO, the power of a camera. Excellent job to all of them and you, this looks hard and it's even harder in real life, it takes a lot of commitment.
instructors are always gentle and calm when it comes to serious things they don’t want you to jump under stress because it just means trouble and potential injury shouting and harassment is more of a circus and a choreography to discipline “young soldiers” and make them serious Believe that you will not see the jump from the plane before the basic training is over, and then the harassment stops.
their job isnt to break Khare down and make her a soldier, their job was to introduce them to some of the training. Drills being assholes only really constitutes the first few weeks of BCT then they tone it back unless your a constant fuckup. then your drills take on their mentor mantle
This reminds me of my days in regular army. I was in an armor unit in 1st Cav Div,rode in some tanks,it was fun !!! LOL. Only did 7 yrs tho, but, the experiences I had was GOOD. I also did 4 yrs in the navy, was aboard aircraft carriers-USS Kittyhawk and the USS Roosevelt. GO,NAVY and GO
@@Asomwhatokdude to be honest this is an army-sponsored recruitment video so a handsome colonel was chosen and the best instructors were selected the filming lasted for hours or rather days but a joke aside when it comes to jumping off a plane and shooting with "live ammunition" then there is no joking and harassment Everyone is aware that one wrong step is a disaster that is why instructors are gentle and dedicated they are there to teach you, not to kill you or you to kill them
OMFG the army is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more calm than the marines man. i am a kid, and i seen the marines video, u did the best u could, u gave it ur all, im proud of you. now that i see that the army is calm, i can proudly say that my grandma was in the army. i thought it would be at least really hard but she said it was easy. but sadly she passed a few months ago from cancer... hopefully when i grow up i can be in the army and join the army to thank her for her service as a veteran and i can honor her. hopefully she is looking down on me writing this comment. she would be proud of me. she would probably be proud of you too. keep up the good work!!!!! hopefully u is still alive when i grow up so ya know, u can see that my grandma and you inspired me to join the army when im an adult. and if u dont write back to this comment, thats fine. you dont have to. but im just saying, thank u for inspiring me, and thank you too grandma. i love ur videos Michelle, again, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SO THAT I CAN LOOK BACK ON THIS VIDEO AND THIS COMMENT AS AN ADULT TO BE INSPIRED TO JOIN!!!!
I dont wanna be so negative but at 3:30 I think some of us who have done at least basic training know that the whole encouragement thing is not really true. At least for me, drill sergeants would make fun of us, call us names, laugh and curse at us all the time lol, that was their encouragement for us. Amazing video 👊🙏
@@laurioho2041 it’s not bullying lol it’s training to work harder and be tougher so you don’t fall out behind peers. War is a lot worse than what you are facing in Basic Training

Awesome, my hubby was airborne and did 5 very long, 12-15 month deployments in Iraq. I appreciate you doing this and yes, you barely scratched the surface but at least you had guts and didn’t quit. I’m proud of you. You’re showing exactly why army camaraderie is such a huge thing. God bless our fallen heroes and their family and may they Rest In Peace

Because what you do is absolutely amazing and it takes so much strength and courage and training and devotion. So for that - thank you for that quality of content and good job once again.

I’ve been thinking of joining the army after high school and college and I’ve always wanted to know what goes on for training. Seeing this video really helps. Thank you Michelle.
This is not Basic Training. Basic Training is rougher and you probably will not touch those weapons and be in those range courses. I think she got special treatment. It's ok because of her work. It just wouldn't be like this for average Joe, unless you get in these special training groups.
This particular video shows good training for Army schools, but not the full Army experience. Doing your regular day to day MOS is what you should look into. Also would recommend doing college in the Army.
unless u need free school don't join the army they just use ur life for their twisted corruption (not military itself but they all follow trickle down orders) u think fighting another country's battles is worth dying for by all means but our country the way it stands today isn't worth dying for. they'll use n abuse u give you ptsd n let u live ur life out on the streets begging for change

Trust me, i saw girls who were barely tall enough to not be called dwarves do basic. Its hard but really its just a mind game. Remember -- this video is sponsored by the Army. All the benefits they tell you like "I got two masters degrees" is pure propaganda Edit: to the people saying "it's not propaganda, I got a degree blah blah" clearly you didn't pay much attention during your classes because the point went entirely over your head. I didn't say it was impossible to get a degree in the military, I said that this video is propaganda. Some people don't make it out of the military alive. For those that do, many are left with permanent disabilities, PTSD, alcohol addiction, etc. Many American veterans don't receive adequate healthcare and more die from suicide than from combat. This video is propaganda because getting a degree in the military can have significant costs -- not with money, but with your mental and physical health, and maybe even your life. But they don't tell you that in a recruiting center now will they?
Especially the part where she says, "but i wasnt being laughed at i was being supported". And i love how these army promotional propaganda pieces never show any combat training or anything that you would actually be spending your time doing there.
Fort Benning was my first duty station after basic training in 2001. I was a mechanic with the 988th MP Co, 92nd Military Police Battalion. Cross traning with them daily help me gain a lot of skills that revolve around law enforcement even though it isn't the path I switch to after retiring
Thank you my dad was a veteran and this means a lot me so thank you he passed away in Afghanistan 10 years ago so thanks Edit- he was killed in action and it was very hard news for me and my family to hear so thanks

Okay so this was one of my favorites because she looked like she was having hella fun! Michelle you can literally do anything! I'm SURE her fear of heights has diminished a little bit because she jumped out of a whole plane!! She is so lucky to have gone through all of these cool experiences and I'm happy that we get to see the day in the life of all these different professions.

I appreciate that these videos need to be done under 30 minutes. However, the last few and this one seem kinda phoned in, or at least the editing makes it appear that way. It cuts off the emotional connection that the earlier Challenge Accepted videos really had. This one was a bit more "Cadet Kelly" and less facing something hard but conceivable and achievable. Its wonderful to show the positivity of that environment, but don't cut the dedication portions from it for that end.
I appreciate your videos on boot camp with army/marines but it doesn’t really portray what you actually go though. I think the videos would be 100x better if it was like the actual real thing.
While I do think it’s cool you get to do all the fun stuff, in order to “try the army” or any other military branch in general I think you would have to witness what it’s like to sacrifice your body mentally, physically, and spiritually. Think long hours and little pay. Think sexual harassment and and poor living conditions. The hardest part about the military isn’t Boot Camp. I would encourage you to use your platform not make it look like sunshine lollipops and rainbows and instead to explore the fundamental issues that nobody talks about within the military.

Sure, anyone can do boot camp. But, lets see if she can complete Special Forces training.

With your training in martial arts to act like Batman, as well as training to accurately act like other fictional characters, and your experience with what it's like to become part of the police, SWAT, FBI, and the military, you've become one of the most badass women I know, Michelle. I love how the instructors/drill sergeants are friendly in the video compared to the real thing LMAO, the power of a camera. Excellent job to all of them and you, this looks hard and it's even harder in real life, it takes a lot of commitment.
instructors are always gentle and calm when it comes to serious things
they don’t want you to jump under stress because it just means trouble and potential injury
shouting and harassment is more of a circus and a choreography to discipline “young soldiers” and make them serious
Believe that you will not see the jump from the plane before the basic training is over, and then the harassment stops.
their job isnt to break Khare down and make her a soldier, their job was to introduce them to some of the training. Drills being assholes only really constitutes the first few weeks of BCT then they tone it back unless your a constant fuckup. then your drills take on their mentor mantle
Lol no its not the camera its the Colonel being there lol

to be honest this is an army-sponsored recruitment video
so
a handsome colonel was chosen
and the best instructors were selected
the filming lasted for hours or rather days
but a joke aside
when it comes to jumping off a plane and shooting with "live ammunition" then there is no joking and harassment
Everyone is aware that one wrong step is a disaster
that is why instructors are gentle and dedicated
they are there to teach you, not to kill you or you to kill them
OMFG the army is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more calm than the marines man. i am a kid, and i seen the marines video, u did the best u could, u gave it ur all, im proud of you. now that i see that the army is calm, i can proudly say that my grandma was in the army. i thought it would be at least really hard but she said it was easy. but sadly she passed a few months ago from cancer... hopefully when i grow up i can be in the army and join the army to thank her for her service as a veteran and i can honor her. hopefully she is looking down on me writing this comment. she would be proud of me. she would probably be proud of you too. keep up the good work!!!!! hopefully u is still alive when i grow up so ya know, u can see that my grandma and you inspired me to join the army when im an adult. and if u dont write back to this comment, thats fine. you dont have to. but im just saying, thank u for inspiring me, and thank you too grandma. i love ur videos Michelle, again, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SO THAT I CAN LOOK BACK ON THIS VIDEO AND THIS COMMENT AS AN ADULT TO BE INSPIRED TO JOIN!!!!
I dont wanna be so negative but at 3:30 I think some of us who have done at least basic training know that the whole encouragement thing is not really true.

Remember -- this video is sponsored by the Army. All the benefits they tell you like "I got two masters degrees" is pure propaganda
Edit: to the people saying "it's not propaganda, I got a degree blah blah" clearly you didn't pay much attention during your classes because the point went entirely over your head.

As well as ofc unjust wars, destabilising countries and murdering innocent people.
