In Jacob's Ladder the entire experience was him coming to terms with his guilt over his son dying. It wasn't just a vision-the chiropractor, the wife, the girlfriend, the doctors and his army buddies were angels (or whatever).
One movie that comes to my mind for this category is Passengers (2008). A group of five passengers are found at the site a plane crash and attend counselling sessions, but then they start to disappear. It turns out they had died in the crash, and their disappearances were them moving on into the afterlife.
You could also have included Amicus’ The Vault of Horror, where at the end the characters are revealed to be dead but doomed to reconvene every night to retell the stories of how they died.
Also in reeker, the characters don't know they had a car crash, and the way the " monster" is attacking them , are actually the injuries they suffered.
I got one for ya: Duke Desmond Salvage (2006) In the film, Claire is a college student who, much like the later movie Happy Death Day, Claire keeps dying. At first she writes it off as just a nightmare. But it continues to happen, getting worse each time to the point of her finally believing that she is actually living in the same nightmare. The twist comes when, after it's revealed that Claire died at the hands of local serial killer Duke Desmond, it's further revealed that the person we've been following the entire run of the flick isn't even Claire. It's Duke, reliving the final hours of his last victim before he himself was gunned down by local police.
A cool one that was missing here is definitely the end of Tales From the Hood, if only for the batshit insane performance by the late Clarence Williams III

They're in a car accident and go to a local farm house looking for help from the seemingly friendly couple living there, played by Steven Weber and Kelly Hu. This is one of those movies where things are gradually revealed to be much worse, much nastier as we go along. It's a hidden gem.
What about that movie at the cabin with apparently ppl meeting there from different time periods and it turns out theyre all family. Clint Eastwoods son is in it.. not bad
2 thoughts. 1 Carnival of Souls is a ripoff of a Twilight Zone episode called the Hitchhiker and 2 I wouldn't EVER call Beetlgeuse a horror movie. The Twilight Zone episode aired a year before Carnival of Souls

I've never seen Carnival of Souls, but I have seen that episode of The Twilight Zone & it was so creepy and good! Also, 💯 agree that calling Beetlejuice a horror movie (or even a horror-comedy) is reaaaaaly stretching the definition of a horror movie.

In the others the daughter says mommy went mad a few times so I don't think they knew nothing they had remembered the event and I think they did know she killed them but the mom is so mental and neurotic all the time she couldn't tell her because she knew she would never believe her .....maybe
And Torture Garden. Basically the same format as Vault of Horror and Dr. Terror's House of Horror only the "Story teller" is called Dr. Diabolo . . . I'll let you figure out the rest
In a way, the teens who make up Bea's gang in "The Babysitter" become victims themselves due to them being killed trying to go after the main protagonist Cole, including Bella Thorne's character, Allison, who gets her head blown off by Bea.
Beetlejuices one of the all-time scariest horror films! So glad it made this list of horror films. I was completely frightened when I saw a Beetlejuice for the first time and every time I show it to my friends they always look terrified that I think this is one of the scariest films ever made.

SHHIIITTTT I loved Haunter! I thought it was a breath of fresh air at the time it came out. Still love it. And Hellraiser Hellseeker I thought was a pretty good subversion at the time as well.
Since Supernatural's Roadkill came out 2 years before The Devil's Ground, does this mean they ripped off the idea, or is there a ghost story they're both based on?
Well, there are a lot of legends of female ghosts showing in roads and interacting with the drivers for whatever reason. In my village in asturias they had a very wholesome one. A spirit of a girl who died in a car crahs, due to heavy fog and the very dangerous curves of the mountain road,, would show up at night right before the area in which she died. She would pretend to be trying to get a ride and when picked up, talk with the driver and keep them alert, awake and focused on the road. Once the dangerous part of the road was over, she banished. So yeah, a friendly ghost just wanting to save other drivers from her fate.
There was a pretty good super low budget horror film in the early 2000's about a dead girl stuck in a loop of when she was murdered, constantly pursued by her killer. At the end it turns out the girl is the killer. Forced to relive his victim's murder for all eternity. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the movie though. If anyone knows give a comment😅

I'm glad someone else has seen Salvage! It's extremely underrated and, in my opinion, has one of the best twist endings of the horror genre!
I was so disappointed that this wasn't on this list. This is one of the few horror movies that I own on DVD.
