    Dude....I can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos including the master class. Because of you and how informative your videos are, I was able to pull my brand new MPC One+ out of the box and immediately...and I mean IMMEDIATELY start making beats for the first time ever. This video alone is going to save me HOURS of time. Keep it up, brother! LOVE IT.

    15 years working on my black mpc 1000, upgraded to a Live a couple weeks ago, I can relate to every single word and thought on this video...Technicality doesn’t slow down creativity anymore, it feels so much less like a battle to bend your machine workflow to fit your needs. Almost feels like it’s too easy some days, I mean the struggle was kinda part of why I could make beats, but it s a game changer, and a game changer that allows me to jump into present era without having to vision beatmaking as just drag and drop pre manufactured loops on a daw.

      @@HOLLASOUNDS In the late 90's I was into standalones, 4 tracks, instruments, mixers and mics. I shifted to DAW mid 2000's with tens of thousands of dollars in bootleg software and made the most bangers during that time. I never used loops or samples. Then I went back to a single standalone and knew how to manipulate it to make any sound and make it sound good. Then took a long break to get educated and to retool myself in the workforce. Now that I have money and my GAS started kicking back in I jumped back into standalone with the MPC live II... and I feel lost more than Ive ever felt. I never used the MPC work flow, but I don't think that is the primary cause. I've forgotten a lot of fundamentals that are slowly coming back with the help of Malo and other ytbers. Bottom line. I was big into DAW and had plenty of standalone experience before and after and after getting back into it the new line of AKAI are confusing to me. The next update should help people like me out a lot though. Being able to make and go right to basic sound program categories is going to be game changing.

    Malo, you're a 100% on point about the older MPCs. I've had the 2KXL ever since it came out and, I only use it as a midi controller for my whole setup in the MPC software controlling other samplers, etc. The fat pads I put in the 2KXL are softer and, modded for more sensitivity which I like.

    I dont have a MPC I use Reason and there are currantly many ways to make MPC style sample bassed beats, even back in 2006 I was doing it. Sometimes I chop up a sample but most of the time I just use one single cut and then loop it 3 bars and extend 3rd bar to bar 4. Sometimes that's enough for the entire 3 or 4 minute beat and other times I will record multiple versions of the beat with sample start point moved and I'll mix between them during the 3 or 4 minute beat.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is awesome brother, I really enjoy hearing other peoples workflow. I remember I used to use reason as well and chopped up samples with the NNXT which was a pain in the ass but the beats that I made in reason were fire. I’ve been thinking of upgrading and purchasing the newer version of reason

    • @HOLLASOUNDS
      @HOLLASOUNDS 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malobeatsCheck out My 2pack remix if you like, When I make sample based Hip Hop I think of the MPC style Using Dr Rex and rearranging the midi to make something new works but most of the time I'm using the NNXT its easier with new versions of Reason to use the sampler they modified it and gave it it's out drop down menu that maps a long sample to the entire keyboard one click, it also has a wave editor. I haven't upgraded from Reason 4 yet.

    I love the way you're thinking about this - It's the things that make the workflow a little more efficient, each one adding up to a big difference. I use Maschine primarily, but there are definately things here that I can relate to... If I want to pitch up all the chops, I have to hit Select+all, then go to the sampler to pitch.... Is that the end of the world? No, its one minimal step, but its something that takes me away from just getting to work. I feel ya on those things.

    Dope beats as usual. Thanks for posting this stuff, it has helped me plenty with my MPC live II. My favorite feature is the slice mode.
    I’m just curious if the sound quality is still good when you sample from your phone.

    Nice videos you make. Thanks. I have a question though: beyond auditioning line in during sequence playback, can you actually sample from line in during playback? That would be a killer feature to me.

    This sampled was used by Wiz Kalifa "find the one", And this is where I have issues - finding new samples.

    I didn't know about pad 16, and pad 3-6 I only use pad 9 and 13 in sample edit

    Thanks for the tips! What’s the first sample you were considering (at about 6 minutes)?
