Except this sheriff failed to fully critically think it all the way through before giving his answers. The sheriff pointed out a problem that implicates "responsible" gun owners. He claims the criminals got the gun through car burglaries. Ok, fine. But what "responsible" gun owner is leaving his/her gun in their vehicle??? That gun should only be in ONE of two places - either on your person or locked up in a certified gun safe. That's how it is in the military and that's how it should be out here in the civilian world. No exceptions and no bullsh!t excuses. So how about a law to help enforce that??? 1. If a criminal gets a hold of your gun and that gun is used in a crime, then it will be assumed that you the gun owner did not properly secure your gun/s (on your person or locked in certified gun safe). You will be given the opportunity to prove otherwise. If you cannot prove within reasonable doubt that your gun/s was indeed properly secured (on your person or locked in certified gun safe), then you the gun owner will be held accountable by means of a fine. The amount of that fine depends on the severity of the crime that was committed by the gun thief, not to exceed a certain amount, say $3K, but no less than $500. 2. If you report your gun/s stolen and you fail to prove that you had the gun on your person or that it was locked in your certified gun safe, then you WILL be issued a citation for failing to properly secure your gun/s, say $100. 3. If your gun/s is stolen and later used in a crime, the only way that you are relieved of #1 above is if you reported your gun/s stolen prior to the gun crime committed (see #2). 4. 3 times and you're out, meaning if your guns happen to get stolen 3 times and all three times it was because your guns were improperly secured (not on your person or in a certified gun safe at time of burglary), then you lose your gun rights for 1 year. There's a lot of things we can do to help mitigate these gun crimes and gun accidents, and one of those things is to start getting tougher on gun owners in being more responsible with their guns. Stop leaving them laying around unsecured where someone with bad intentions can get them, or God forbid a young unsuspecting overly curious child finds daddy's gun in a drawer. In the car (locked or not), under the bed in the house, in a drawer in the house, in a cabinet in the house, is NOT secured!!! One of two places only - on your person or in a certified gun safe. Anywhere else is UNSECURED! When you're leaving your gun/s unsecured, you're part of the problem and not part of the solution.

It sounds like the victims were involved in the burglaries with the suspects? All 6 were involved in the burglaries and only 3 survived. No honor among thieves.

"If I were to give advice, I would say to parents that they ought to be very careful whom they allow to mix with their children when young; for much mischief thence ensues, and our natural inclinations are unto evil rather than unto good."
Sadly it's NOT just the kids though, it's society as a whole. Have you seen or read about the high rates of murder-suicides over the last 6 years? This is a violent country with a lot of mental stuff going on, and the LAST thing they need access to is a gun.

If you are SO AFRAID that someone is going to break into your house, you're so afraid and scared of that happening, then I'll tell you what to do - you sleep with your sidearm. Something is wrong with these Blk boys ….I’m 31 & never been in any fight except one time in High school…12 years old should be more worrying about video games, school, sports and, other fun things ….not shooting around and killing people…as long as the government allowing these hip hop and,rap culture to thrive, these gun and gang violence will keep happening
If they were stealing and selling things, the parents had to of seen or heard something and overlooked it. Heck for all we know they were helping hide and sell stuff. 🙄
Prayers lifted for the victims' families, friends, and for the community. May those young children RIP. We need more law enforcement like this to hold criminals accountable, juvenile or not. Accountability is the only thing that will encourage criminals think twice before they commit a crime, and if they don't think twice, they will be removed from society.

No one knows how much violent crime isn't committed simply because criminals don't know who is armed and who isn't. All we know for certain is that wherever law abiding citizens are disarmed the violent crime rate skyrockets.
Amen brother... This BS is never going to end until people quit having unwanted children and the ones that do want children, need to bring them up in a church that preaches the blood of Jesus.. a God fearing church that preaches straight out of the Bible, not blabbering their own opinions. Parents, take your babies to church, if you don't want to go, then at least do research on churches and put them on a church bus... There are punishments for keeping your children from the love of God!! God bless this officer ❤
I can tell you the problem here. Our parents can't be parent. Teachers have no corporal punishment power . Police are not respected and crime and drugs are glorified. No censorship at all. And it's cool to be a thug because all football players and others professionals act the part..so there u go.
Because they are raised without morals by women paid by government to breed not to raise them with love to be good people. They are vicious, violent and greedy. That's why
So many victims here. Each one looking for answers to a very complex issue. Hold your children, close folks. And make sure your children at the dinner table are still your children every time they walk out the door. Prayers for all involved.

This is what a sheriff should be! We need to get the feds out of law enforcement. They work for our criminal politicians. Keep law enforcement LOCAL, under LOCAL control.
Start giving LIFE SENTENCES for ALL murders, regardless of age, sex or color. I'm sick of the ignorance and ease of killing in this country.

Much respect for this Sheriff who tells it like it is and for not sugarcoating the facts.

I respectively disagree. Moms (parents) are responsible for knowing where their kids are. Did the mom of the 12 y/o ever check his bedroom? Duh!
