Nobody knows how cut 70s shag. It’s so simple. Most the salons just chop yr hair and styling jell to make it look good. Once you wash yr hair you have a mess.

@@izzyjones7108 You can create a shag shape with short to long layers as well. It depends on how soft yuou want it to fall, and it cam be as connected or disconnected as you want.

just did this on my fine wavy hair and I am so happy! Since it was a DIY cut, I made the first layer the length of my face (so it would be salvageable in case it went wrong), and left a thin portion near the neck almost untouched. And with a bit of wave enhancer, my hair finally has volume, movement and is fun to look at 😊. Thank you!

Brilliant technique! This is how shags were cut back in the 80s but I am afraid to ask for a shag now because the stylists usually grab a razor and they don't balance the cut. This is a beautifully balanced cut. You are a great stylist.
If your afraid they will mess up a shag and you still want. A short hairstyle I must ask if you have ever asked for a short bob cut with eye grazing bangs

This is a beautiful cut done by a well train stylist. No frills just straight, sensible cutting techniques. Most likely some or all Sassoon trained with several years of apprenticeship before going out on your own. In Europe that’s how it’s done. Love it so much!

The only difference is the bottom part of the hair was more thinned out, a bit more spike here and there. What you brought is Excellent! Thank you very much.

i am a stylist i cut my shag differently, but i like it! i like your style, a lady i work with cuts horizontal not vertical, thats how she checks is vertical

This hairdresser is an artist! A talented one too. A couple of remarks though. This cut looks fabulous on straight hair only Then hair grow all the time, and I can foresee this cut requires lots of upkeep to remain balanced
