No offense, but how does Android Authority have better information about the future of Google's operating systems than Google themselves? The way they handled messaging for this I/O has been nothing short of abysmal.

Private space is welcome - something Samsung has had for a long time. The phone theft locking is excellent! Very welcome.
That Theft lock detection is almost genius
I don’t have an android, I have iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I enjoy seeing what’s new on both sides. Some of yall have no life’s hating on the other side 🤣 just be happy
Whereas I have a iPhone 14 Pro and a Pixel 8a. It allows me to see the state of the art on both.

I couldn't agree more. I'm a pixel user, but I still appreciate other companies strides in the smartphone market. I've always said that I love iPhones hardware.

It's crazy to me how Google is the creator of android but is so behind other manufactures
@@Magddy45 I would forgive them if they were failry young in the market but even the new comers are way ahead when it comes to feature sets, but there are people that enjoy the vanilla version of android
I just want them to force devs to make apps edge-to-edge by default. The black bars on the top and bottom are so hideous.

i have installed beta 2 on my pixel6a, cant find theft and threat detections under settings

Secure folder is better I guess cause it has hardware level security.
Some of these feel like they are features from samsung : samsung knox, app pairs... Etc...

What's the point, you can turn off the internet from the lockscreen. Unless bootloader password is there nothing about theft protection is useful
Private space is buried in the setting. Also seems to be only working with crappy Google launcher
We Samsung users already experienced some of the new features decades ago 😂😂😂 Secure folder, Samsung pass is something extremely useful for daily usage.

That private spaces sounds like a more advanced implementation of oneplus's hidden apps.
Oneplus allowed you to access the hidden apps via a code on the dialer instead of a visible folder. If Google adds that option it would be absolutely amazing. As is its already great.
Call me crazy but I feel like Google is low-key giving up on Android. Last year I/O, Android only had like 5-7 mins stage time. This year they totally skipped it. I miss the old I/O days...

This year of "updates" are so lame
After all these years, google doesn't have a way to backup call logs. Still they force their own 3rd grade dialer instead of oem dialer which had such features for many years.
Nothing new .I like Android ,but newest versions after Android 10 and 11 is more and more unfriendly

googles stock does. the one ui skin of samsung doesnt. Googles own is very lame
So far, android 15 sucks. Hope one ui 7 is great

@@ShakruTheLabdude. If so, then Android 15 has not changed the interface at all. And it's the same as before. If the Android 15 user interface is not good, then the user interface of Android 14 and 13 does not like it and says it is not good. Because it hasn't changed so much.
@@Slender1230 one ui is a android skin, but its kinda its own thing. samsung adds their own huge updates even when android itself hasnt updated. we dont know what samsung will do with it. for all we know they could completely redesign every single one ui element.
