Great ride, done most of it twice before. I did chuckle as you were pondering what the Nan Bield climb might be like as I was getting horrific flashbacks 😅
Fantastic video mate, I’ve done Garburn & Nan bield but only once, both are very challenging trails if I remember right, Nan bield probably the trickier of the two, I wouldn’t mind doing them again one day, i don’t fancy that hike a bike up to Nan bield though 🤣
Great vid mate, some loop that one (a while since I've done it in one, as in MANY years); good to see that Gatescarth is getting rough again as last time I rode it, it had been sanitised to within an inch of it's life (with the kind of gravel and rubbish that storms wash away). Climb up the back of Nan Bield is grim isn't it? We should try and ride down it one day though, that would be interesting 😃
Didn't enjoy gatesgarth 1st time down it. but actually preferred it this second time to garburn. prob never do this ride again. would prob go over harter fell next time
I preferred the nan bield climb after gatesgarth descent. I much prefer steep hike a bike climbs than long pushes. gets my calfs. a lot easier when its more like steps than a slope. Garburn always fun
Do you think the car park at the corner of Haweswater would be a good place to do this loop from? Starting with the worst climb, ending on that nice log steadier Gatescarth decent?
Another great video covering the entire nature of the ride. Done Garburn Pass. Gatescarth and Nan Bield on bucket list. Would you prefer this way over Gatescarth Pass to Nan Bield or your previous route over Mardale Ill Bell though?
1st two climbs an e-bike would be able to ride. also little sections of the 3rd. but totally doable on an e-bike. last part of climb 3 you will have to push and carry

It's brutal, not sure id do it again, unless a friend wanted to tick it off. it would have to be a good friend though 🤣

that climb is pretty tough. you could get to nan bield via harder fell again though 🤣🤣
@@TrailFinder no thanks 😬🤣
Holes in your gloves, love your Yorkshire sensibilities and making things last lol
Ive been looking for a new pair. they are about done 🤣

Love the garburn pass descent 👍 not so much the gatescarth climb 🤣

I’ve done this but instead of the hike a bike which I heard was a killer I cut across harter fell. Which was all rideable.
will be doing the same in the future. but wanted to tick this ride off and do all 3 passes on the same ride
Well done mate. Big day out
tough one. the plan was to finish with HP plantation. but was done in by the end of nan bield
@@TrailFinder it's hard enough without Garburn, good going
from 24min 😎 looks very steep
its pretty steep, but lots of fun

defo mardale bell. but choose a dry day as the rocks are lethal
Would you get up some of those hike a bike bits on an e-bike ?
