A shorter version is starting at the bottom of Dash Falls and looping around... As it's at the start it makes the Dash Falls climb a bit more manageable to clean. Great ride with a real out in the wilderness feeling... even the road sections are generally fun and quiet. I've ridden it in reverse (Clockwise) and it's not fun... especially back up from Mosdale to Skiddaw House. Your Hobcarton Video.. I wouldn't have gone up in the wind.... If it's windy at the top of the South then it can be pretty severe up the top.
It flows much better after a dry spell, we do it as an 8 out to the Blencathra centre then back via Glenda. You did right on the crags, I never ride them when it's wet serious consequences for an off.
This is the route I should of done last week. I took the direct route up Skiddaw from where you veered right into the gully. It was a push ALL the way up for most of it (80%). I made it to nearly the summit and my bloody rear derailleur hanger snapped 😵.. Luckily I had a chain tool so removed the derailleur and free wheeled most of the way down the route I had come up. But it was so dry and loose in places which made it nigh on impossible to stay on. Next time I will follow this route. Cheers Andy. Great videos and bike 👌🏻🤙🏻
Really enjoyed that! Last time i rode that, i started from mosedale on my old orange five, must have been 2009! If i ever get back up there it will most likely be on a ebike lol 🤣
Nailed it again Andy, mint footage and love the fist bombs 😆 stunning scenery as well, after getting you to tell me about your frame bag I’ve discovered that the Blackburn bag won’t fit into my frame, there’s hardly any space in between my top tube and battery tube on my bike so it looks like I’m gonna have no choice and have a back pack ☹️
Trail-Finder looked at it? I’ve never even heard of it let alone looked at it 😆 where do they get the names from I wonder, cheers Andy I’ll have a butchers now, I never wanted a back pack and the thoughts of wearing one when it’s hot does nothing for me what so ever either.
Trail-Finder got home from work tonight and my lovely wife has bought me a camelbak mule back pack, if I take just the necessities I think I should be ok with it 👍I couldn’t find a bag to fit my frame so it’s just as well she bought it for me
Another awesome route and quality video mate but my god there was some scary bits in there! Then at the end you said it was easy but long 😲 i think we're at different levels 😂
Quality video, the kind of ride I want to do now I've practised at Leeds Urban for a bit after a 20 year break from bikes. Need to find someone willing to come with because solo I think would be a real bad idea... especially since I tend to aim for gnarly stuff by default 😁
You can go to the summit from Skiddaw house. There is a path up to the right hand side. As far as I know it's only on wainwright maps and not OS. It's more rideavle than the tourist path from latrigg
@@TrailFinder it's just a grassy path. It's still very steep. But not quite as steep or loose as the usual route up. I have the gpx on my Strava from 2016 somewhere
been watching, and saving to strava the routes, did one today. you called it best natural ride you done. its was a good ride. i got a canyon e-bike but it was a good work out especially the part when you start pulling away from windermere at the south end. i`m gona do lots more over the months. with all these trails you do are they one way or is it a dual carriage way, i expect some are as good in reverse. some of the up peddeling today would be amazing downs. are we allowed to ride em as we like(in reverse), i don`t want to cause an accident or conflict. thanks for the strava info they look really good rides. gona give lots of rides in coming months.
Hi Neil yes every ride I do that is not at a trail centre can be done either direction as they are just bridleways. Once I get an ebike I will be doing all these in reverse
Another belter. Next Saturday can’t come quick enough! A weeks riding in the lakes these vids have helped loads for us not knowing the area.
Have a great time 😁
Trail-Finder will be getting off the boat this time next week I’ll be like a kid at Christmas lol

Great video Trail finder. I had done this trails in 2018 and really wanna come back again. Keep shredding mate.

Bad luck Micky. Don’t you just hate those kind of rides where it all goes wrong. It happens to us all mate. Thanks for the kind works 😁

Thanks. It’s one of my fav rides. Would be great on an ebike
I was up in the lake district the other weekend, ended up at ullswater at aira force
I've walked most of the early stuff on this route, it's a fantastic spot to be no matter how you got there.
Sure is 😍

Thanks Sean. Shame about the frame bag. I hate wearing backpacks so glad I found it. Have you looked at the dakine hotlaps gripper.

Beautiful countryside I bet it can get very bleak when the weather turns.👍
Do you have any advice for finding/planning routes like this?
Top vid pal as always 🤟🏼 what garmin do you use & do you load maps on to it & is it easy to follow many thanks 😊
Another awesome route and quality video mate but my god there was some scary bits in there! Then at the end you said it was easy but long 😲 i think we're at different levels 😂
Great video 👍🏻. What’s that bracket thing on your stem?
You have some fantastic routes near you.👍
great route as ever buddy cant wait till its bit warmer and i can get out being a noob not sure in these conditions
Are you running the fox X2 rear shock, if so what did you change and why, was it just air pressure or that combined with tokens?

Which Garmin gps are you using buddy ?
It’s the 820
Did you ever do skiddaw summit?
Great vid lad!! I don't suppose you a have a gpx to to download?
Where do you get the routes for your Garmin?
I build the routes my self before adding them to the Garmin
Trail-Finder I found it last night on the Garmin connect app after I asked you. Thanks anyway 👍
Will stick to going around Derwent water not for the faint-hearted best for 2 man or 3 man ride .cracking one
Another quality vid.
🤙
Stunning Mate!
Yet another great route/video. Unfortunately I'm banned from watching future vids in the presence of the Missus until you sort your brakes out! Lol
You’ve got bigger balls than me than to ride along that ledge, that’s a pusher for me
Hey Dude, Any chance of you tackling Skiddaw Summit with Ullock Pike descent. Its what we all want to see Bro :)
Did I hear you say new bike!!! I see a new ebike coming??
terrific !! :)
Ace 👌
