When you consider the average monthly income for a Thai is roughly $400-500 ….. that puts everything in perspective.

I love this video! You guys share our enthusiasm for Thailand. We, like you would retire there but we’re just not ready to settle down anywhere. And we agree, we’ve never felt unsafe there either. We’re a gay couple and also have never felt any homophobia.

This is all true. They certainly seem to be a very happy couple though, and that makes everything better. They are so lucky because it's hard to find the right person. There is more than one! I'm divorced, but I don't worry about it. Anyway, Thailand is wonderful, very inexpensive by Western standards, and possibly the most tourist-friendly country on earth. I may go back this year, 2024. Next time to Phuket.

Thank you for this video I agree went to Thailand in March 2020 just before the shutdown for the pandemic and they were handling the covid situation way better than the United States, the people treated us so nicely, the massages were the best, the food was amazing I could go on and on and as black women we felt safe and sometimes even protected can't wait to get back to Thailand. p.s their 7-elevens are better than the states haha.

Thailand is definitely on our list. I wonder about the healthcare in some of these countries...do you think it's so much more efficient because people there tend to live healthier lifestyles...more physical movement, and nobody can over-eat over-processed foods like us Americans! Seems like they might spend less time on treating many of the things Americans deal with from a life of excess or just ignorance due to convenience.

I can hardly wait to go there. I just need to wait 2 more years. I will be 55 and I will be heading to Thailand. I am happy for you guys.
I will order for delivery, so that I can give them tips too since it is so cheap then I can tip more. That way it is kind of a help to them.
Ask for safety, in NY, SF, La, ectch., your chance of being robbed is just so great.

Hello Rob and Allie - my husband and I have been devouring your videos and I was so excited to see your brand new one come up. Do you have past locations you can recommend? Is the language a barrier? For purchasing food, the point and smile method or? My husband retires in July (I'm already retired) and traveling is one of our big "to do's" so your freedom of giving pointers has been invaluable - thank you!!

Thanks so much! We will be doing videos of pretty much everywhere we've been, soon. For the most part we just speak English and it is fine usually. Almost all restaurant workers we've encountered overseas speak English so food ordering isn't a problem. Thanks for watching!

Question about how what cell service provider you use for voice and data for your world travels? Do you switch sim cards for travel outside the US ? I have learn a lot on your channels on charging devices and personnel items for travel. Thanks

Great vlog! We hope to travel to Thailand someday. Would be nice to spend a month there. If we came for one month, what city would you recommend we stay in? Is it easy to get to other parts of the country on trains? Thanks so much for your time to make this and we have enjoyed getting to know you and all of your channels better over the past few months. Keep in touch! We are heading to New England for a month long journey this summer! Can't wait!

    Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately you guys come across as if you've been used to paying crazy high prices for everything in the U.S.
The UK is bad enough, but anywhere other than London, is actually very cheap compared to the U.S.
It's no wonder so many people leave the U.S to move to South East Asia.

Your videos are great. I am trying to get an idea of total monthly cost and you mentioned ~$4k as a good number. I would view that as living expenses but if you are traveling you also need to fly to and from, maybe drive if you are moving around Europe month to month. I know this is a big variable but what would you say is a good estimate for your monthly expenses (i.e. the $4k) plus traveling to and from the month-to-month locations? Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend!

    • @GroundedLifeFinances
      @GroundedLifeFinances  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, it's a good point and varies greatly. For instance lately we've been doing transatlantic cruises to get back and forth so it is kind of included as it includes food and housing. But, when we fly not so much. I would guess depending on the year we could spend 3-4k per year on airfare. But then again that is often to visit family who let us stay for free. Once you get to Europe or Asia it isn't expensive to move around. Changing continents is what gets you.

What place(s) do you recommend for someone who has not yet had the pleasure of visiting Thailand? I would LOVE to go to Phuket but if you think another area is better for newbies (i.e. Bangkok), I would love to get your opinion on that. Thank you so much for the continuous amazing content.

We have a video coming out on that in a few weeks! Shot it today. But in short, our favorite is the non tourist areas of Bangkok. We go over the best neighborhoods in the video.
