    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewhemenway5106 It's mostly what you put on the roof. You can get away with a lift, wheels/tires, and even off road bumpers without seeing much of a drop. You add a roof box/basket and other stuff to the outside, that's when you'll get an 8-10mpg hit.

      @@andrewhemenway5106 No problem! You will see a small drop, but it will be negligible. Also try to keep your foot out of the accelerator, that makes a big difference too 😜 I drive the posted speed limit everywhere I go, and try not to accelerate like I'm driving a race car, lol!

    I liked the video... I've been considering selling my Jeep, and buying a Subaru. It's more than capable for 95% of my adventures. The gas mileage, and Solo camping abilities are intriguing. The lift & tires are my big question...
    Having watch several other Crosstrek Camping Setup videos, I can definetly see it's utilty & capability. I'm a Ham as well, and always have my comms handy. Thanks for sharing!

      Those are diode dynamics. They have performed great, BUT, if you are currently, or are considering getting into amateur radio, they are very "noisy" in the common mobile 2 meter ham band. I'm actually working on a video to cover this and trying to kill the noise. So far I've been unsuccessful. If this is not a concern of yours though, then I would recommend them for their solid performance. If you want "quiet" lights, I have a set of Baja Designs Squadron Sport Pros for ditch lights that not only perform great, but are RF quiet too :)

    I also have 2019 premium MT with 80,000 miles. Sleep relatively comfortable inside with Exped mattress on top of wooden platform. However, I’ve been having so many reliability issues with the car and frequent trips to the dealerships and calls to Subaru headquarters. ( Rattling throttle, jerky acceleration with power cutting out, loud popping noise in rear when crawling down hill, rain water inside collection inside doors, and etc) definitely more problems than Jeep rubicon I purchased in 2012. My first Subaru and likely my last. Cool build though.

    I currently own a kona electric stock. Should I build on it with a lift kit, tires and wheels, custom bumpers and winch, tire carrier, roof rack and awning maybe a rooftop tent or should I sell the car for a 4x4 vehicle instead? I can't afford 2 cars, but I really love my kona, but without AWD or 4WD I'm very limited to where I can go

    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to do all that to your rig and be happy with the outcome, if it were me I'd get the 4x4. That's what I ended up doing. I drive a Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 now.
