EM is actually a pretty solid set, i can't believe the run of bad luck hes been having opening them! rudy does keep skimming over the uncommons tho! The ashnods altars are 5$ a pop and blood artists and relics are 3$$ so its not as bad as it seems. The real punch in the balls is balance and the dragon, which even at release everyone agreed shouldn't have been included in the set.
Depends on the opening - most he announces to his Patrons and you send him the money and get on the list when he announces it. This one was different and we talked back and forth. I ended up sending him the money without knowing what was going to be opened, I just asked for him to make it fun, so this was as much a surprise for me as it was for everyone else.
I don't know about skipping ahead but I watched this video in reverse... It was an amazing video of Rudy making repacks to hose a patron out of 1k. Happy birthday indeed.

Eternal Masters is absolutely Hosetown USA. Rudy's box openings confirm my suspicions on that set. I bought like 5-6 booster boxes and never got anything good from it. Ultimate Masters makes Eternal Masters look like a cruel joke. On another note, love this Mystery Box opening video... a lot of fun to see the different sets being opened.
The reason Athreos is climbing a shit ton recently is because of good ole Teysa Karlov. Forces your opponents to pay 6 life for you not to return a creature, that dies, to your hand. Crazy nasty
Love the openings. I opened a "god-pack" of Zendikar when it came out, didn't know it was "a thing" and thought I just got an error pack or something. @ 13:05 the word is "deicide" (dee-ah-side) and refers to the act of murdering a deity (a god).
I remember getting my Journey box after prerelease, opened it up and the bottom pack on the right hand side of the box had the god pack. I was opening it up, and got extremely confused when I seen Iroas on the top...then i slid it sideways and lost my mind because I realized it was a god pack. I wish I had it video'd, because at the time my shop owner immediately started looking to see how many was reported to be opened. I was apparently one of the first to have opened one in the US. Too bad it wasn't recorded so we could have had the proof that I was one of the firsts.
I remember I did a sealed tournament where I got the god pack so then they replaced that pack with a regular pack and then we had to record what cards we got and then turn it in. The random pool of cards I had from theros, journey and born had mogis, Iroas, and Erebus in it. So I got 18 gods in one day.
I hope there are more of these kinds of videos in the future, they're really fun to watch since it was like a 5 course meal of Magic That said yikes if it wasn't for Ultimate Masters his return value would've been in the toilet
Rudy, I need advice regarding why Tournament-Pack Box of a Set like Mirrodin, Time Spiral, Lorwyn often costs half the price or at least way less than a Booster Box of the same Set even though get the same randomization, same amount of Rares and same chance of Foils. I just noticed that recently after watching your Time Spiral Tournament-Pack Box opening and then went to check for Booster Boxes and Tournament-Pack Boxes of Time Spiral. Found some but I ended up buying 3 Lorwyn Tournament-Pack Boxes in English for 220 Euros each and Booster Boxes of the same Set were available for over 450 Euros each. Why is that? You get the same amount of random Rares, Foils and on top of that, even a lot of Lands
Yeah, for some people (like me) MtG is all about limited. Especially draft. I usually sell all my cards after a limited event, but I love doing them. I don't care if I come out at a loss, I treat it like going to the movies. Going "back in time" for a nostalgic set is even more amazing and occasionally worth the extra cash. I haven't opened a booster without it being part of a limited event since Apocalypse. That was, like what, 18 years ago?
That Nyx box brought back memories, man. I remember prerelease, my brother and I did a two-headed giant sealed. I pulled two of one god, and HE pulled two of another god. That was such a busted pool.

That Pacifism foil was cool. My favorite card from Mirage! Traded uncommon etc to get more. Just one of those things, loved the art and idea of it. Keep um coming, wish I had your gig!
Sooo I have my vacation for this year scheduled the last week of December and I’m planing to go to Rudy’s shop to play casuals/Friday night and buy some stuff in person. I’m going to ride my Honda CB650R from Houston, Texas to Rudy’s soft taco in Jacksonville, Florida. 870ish miles, it’ll be the longest ride on a motorcycle I’ve done.
Believe that the reason the Gods are creeping up is how much they are in demand for Commander. Can confirm at least that Phenax is crept up due to being the most popular commander for his colors

I bought 1 pack of ultimate masters at magicfest Memphis. It had desolate lighthouse. Bought one pack of conspiracy take the crown. It had Phyrexian Arena.
So when iconic masters was still in print, the Walmart in my town accidentally had them at normal pack price, I spent $200 on them and pulled over $300 in rares and mythics

I bought 1 box of journey into nyx and drafted it with my brothers and a few friends. We got a God pack in that box. Man that was a fun draft because everyone had a God card in there deck
I don't think I've ever seen cards from this set. Just sae Rudy open up that 2nd or 3rd booster and there was a filigree Fox. Just went to eBay and picked one up in foil that thing's gorgeous.

people are dumb and overlook stuff like that all the time, they just think I NEED PACKS and they get packs and booster boxes
