    Unlike C clamps that use rotational force (direct twisting of the screw), these are parallel closing jaws that "Can't Twist" off center as you apply tightening force.

      Now that totally makes sense. I knew someone would know! Thanks👍

    Just a tip if you would like to have the clearance and use the Kant twist clamps while epoxying... cut the fingers / thumbs off of some rubber gloves and slip them over the pads and arms of the clamps. You will get the clamp force that could be handy and you will keep the epoxy out of the moving parts..... Just thought it might help. Cheers.

    my favorite thing about this channel is how inspiring it is. Your knives make me want to start my own projects, but when you also show viewers knifes, it gets my juices flowing. I have zero tools and I'm on a budget but these videos always keep me thirsty to want to make my own knives.

    Way to give your viewers some air time. All three show some real promise. Their just going to get better and better. I really enjoy those Japanese inspired kitchen knives

    I have a box of these from my father in law. Thanks for letting me know what they're for. I was going to get rid of them. Oops. Now I'll use them for making knives. Thanks again!!

    Use them to clamp your glue ups. Especially when you are gluing handle and bolsters to spacer material. you'll find you get next to no sliping and sliding of the materials like you do when you use a c clamp. Primarily because you're not twisting the foot to clamp down. I started using them a while back and now only use them. Princess auto carries them.

    They are called cantilevered twist clamps (all over the web).

  • @dizzolve
    @dizzolve 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always thought they were called kant twist because they Don't twist. C clamps can twist and slide around when in use and you apply side forces to the work. Never thought about the cantilever idea - who knows

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you’re right. I’d never heard of them named that because they don’t twist before I made this video but that makes sense. ...they both make sense....😆👍

    I know I am behind schedule, but these clamps are way too expensive here in Australia. Just buying on ebay (no mainstream hardware seems to have them) is anywhere between $50 and $160 each.
