    I manage this product. We partner with a manufacture in Michigan. Our partner sold to a larger company and new people were assembling them. The new people were not dialing in the presses and unfortunately many of the clamps made it into the market with below standard quality. We have worked with them to develop more quality checks to fix that, and the clamps are much better again than they were 3 years ago.

    I just bought 2 of the 3/4" Kant-Twist clamps from Amazon. Exact problem you had. I did an exchange and received 2 more the next day. They were almost just as bad. So I kept the 2 "best" ones and will try to fix them. Sad.

      Sad to hear you got the same quality. If you need some intense clamps, look up Dimide.... dimide.com/

      @@johnharris250 Awesome!! I'm not really one, but I play one on YT and IG now and then. LOL Do you know about sendcutsend.com for laser cutting? I've gotten great parts from them so far....and really fast, too! :)

      @@bluehandsvideo Nice. I have a local guy that I use for that, but for a few pieces like this I will cut them on my Haas. I do have a CNC plasma, but its way to sloppy.

      @@johnharris250 I've milled 1/4" and 3/8" flat plate before rather than have it plasma cut. lol It's a bit tedious, but I'd rather clean up those edges than the edges left by the plasma cutter. They've got better ones out there that seem to cut a lot nicer, but I still prefer having things done on the laser. :)

    Whats the problem with a little slop?

    • @bluehandsvideo
      @bluehandsvideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're called Kant Twist because they're not supposed to twist. The slop lets them twist. They just didn't work like they were supposed to.

    kinda weird.....got a comment with a link but it's not here anymore....they must have deleted it. Clamp Mfg has be bought by another company with different goals.

    Everyone bragged about these but I just hadn't picked any up yet. Now, I'm not sure if I'll bother. I wonder if the MFG knows about the problem or if they farmed it our overseas and QC went out the window?

      wilkbilt posted a link.....I reposted it.....Clamp Mfg got sold off to another company, so I'm guessing they've cut a few too many corners to make the $'s better.

      Kinda weird since this comment of yours shows up just fine? I had a hard time even finding your channel yesterday, but it comes right up today. Maybe a glitch on my end....no clue. I'll post it and your channel name in the description box, if you don't mind. If you do, I'll remove it. Thanks for the link!!! Mike

    As I understand it, there is a machine shop grade Kant Twist clamp and a consumer grade. Amazon sells the consumer grade. I have compared them and the machine shop grande is much thicker and no rivet problems.

      Interesting. I had done some digging around when I dealt with this and didn't find anything about there being two different versions. That would also explain why the ones I bought were cheaper than I thought they'd be. Thanks! -Mike

      I've heard from a bunch of people when I did the IG post about it......all of their older ones are in perfect shape....no bends and no loose rivets....so either these are knock offs or the quality has gone WAY down. lol

    This is why I just put tool that I want in the cart then go to the physical store myself to buy one.

      That's great idea. I'm sure it would be a welding store that would have them. I'll keep that in mind if I buy anymore. I'm pretty spoiled with having things delivered to my door. lol :)

      @@bluehandsvideoof course it's a trade off of convenience that go with it. By all mean the local store is not an Amazon warehouse. Lol.
