I've seen Ariel's previous vids using hotglue to fill silicone moulds & make filigree pieces etc, so that technique seems very "her"? But I had no idea black hotglue was a thing?! 😮 Her creative vision is so unique, & her use of all available materials very inspiring!
I didn't think I'd be able to watch this because my severe arachnophobia, but I'm happy to say I only had to close my eyes for a little bit of the video and really enjoyed the reveal at the end!
So chic! High fashion spiders, it’s all beautiful the neck piece - would never have thought it was spider related by the time you had finished and the hat and the skirt look gorgeous xx
The collar/choker came out BEAUTIFULLY! It looks amazing! Did it just clip around your neck with no fastening? Ingenious! You put in a lot of work on the skirt and hat (and they look great!) but it's the jewelry that commands my attention!
Lovely! But the bolero/jacket(?) steals the show for me o.o Did you make it as well and if so, what do you call the spiky shoulder cut? I need to draft me some of those! Edit: Alas, found some references from ShapesofFabric!
Agreed! It’s fabulous and I’m figuring she probably did make it because her past projects closet is EXTENSIVE! Also, I found a few pointy shoulder tutorials on TH-cam so you could probably modify a bolero pattern with a pointy shoulder tutorial and huge bell sleeves. Or something close to that, good luck!
Thank you @@spontaneousun! I have some basic blocks I usually draft from and I really like ShapesofFabric - she has a lot of very interesting experimental patternmaking projects/tutorials (like lots of sculptural sleeves!). I've been waiting to start on a tea-gown/bathrobe of sorts project with dramatic sleeves and considered making them pointy, but the bolero sleeve shoulders are just perfect size and shape so the decision is made o.o
Gorgeous! That neck piece is amazing, and I'm in love with the skirt. When the hat was done it looked like it was a looot more work than it actually was behind it, the same with the neck piece - even though I don't doubt that there was quite a lot of work with both of them anyway! The little black "bolero" _(or what I should call it)_ that you wore together with it all was stunning too, and really brought the whole look together. All in all; Mission *very* much accomplished! Happy Halloween - a few days early :)
Can I just say how much I love your incredible creativity and how you keep trying new methods of doing things when something doesn't work? You show us what you tried, and why it didn't work, and how you fixed it over and over and over until eventually you find something perfect (or close enough), and that determination and creative problem-solving is so valuable and wonderful to watch. I'm sitting here going ????? "what else can she even try?" but no, you have an idea, and I'm cheering you on every time. You're truly amazing, Ariel!
Second all of that!! ❤️🔥 Ariel's sense of humour was what hooked me first, but her incredibly creative concepts & impressive bravery in experimenting with super-unusual materials & techniques never cease to blow my mind 🤯 So cool to see her channel grow, YT seems to do a bad job of promoting smaller costube creators sadly but I think the WoT collab with Bernadette really flagged Hazariel Costumes wonderfully to potential fans?
You can also use a 3d print pen instead of hot glue for more structural integrity, more details and more colour options! The process is relatively easy, especially if you're already used to using hot glue for detail work, and the pens & filament are quite affordable, as long as you get a pen that works with normal 3d printer filament and not overly expensive especially for 3d print pens filament. The only problem is that you'll either use PLA or ABS plastic which is very rigid and not the most comfortable on your skin. There is flexible filament, but not all pens work with flexible filament and the ones that do are more expensive so check to make sure if you want that!
I'm very curious how much black Hotglue u needed😅 It was a nice and fun projekt to watc, thank u^^. Also I would love to see the skirt with a big white petticoat!
2:48 Another option for attaching to the tule is white school glue using your iron, to dry it instantly. When using a needle nose applicator for the glue in this method you can make the glue points almost invisible. Hope this helps.
This is Brilliant!!! No one would ever guess the hat and neck piece were made from HOT GLUE!!! That necklace looks like it cost big Dollars!! So fun and so clever!! Love it all! That Jacket(?) thing with the sleeves really made that outfit work!! Not sure what it is, but it’s really amazing.
This is FIRE!!!!!! I love it so much! The choker is my favorite part, but I love that you can wear the skirt as a poncho thing too. So versatile! The hat is adorable, you did a fantastic job! Now I want black hot glue to make my own neck piece.
(Hate spiders but) That necklace is awesome! The fact you picked two fiddle fabrics and still managed to finish this on time, hat off to you. Thank you for sharing
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something... coloured hot glue, wonders never cease. Thank you. The final ensemble is amazing. So well done. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
i made a spider look this year too! black velvet corset, a fitted skirt and i made a bunch of spiders out of mostly pearl beads. the white pearls make them less scary too haha ❤
Aaaaaaaahhhh this is perfect!! Today I am sketching the webs to add to my SpiderGwen costume and what are the odds that I would be blessed with spiderweb content from one of my favorite creators 🤩😆 thank you!
I am so grateful for your trigger warning. A lot of people don’t understand how scared I am of spiders. I can’t even stand looking at a coconut crab because of how much they look like spiders. +1 sub
OMG if anyone else did this video I wouldn't watch it.😅Then you instantly rewarded me by promising there are no actual photos of those freaky little beasts in the video so I'm totally game! The fear is real. The one stain on my favorite holiday -- after a little stomping anyway. Never trust anything with more than 2 eyes.
For whomever deleted their comment (and anyone else who may worry) I feel the need to clarify before I offend anyone: I do not kill the damned things. It was a joke. As I'm a total coward I make someone else handle it. 😁 I don't like the killing anything truth be told, even spiders. If there's another way to handle the situation I'll always choose that route but as I live in Florida (US) it is sometimes necessary.. Example: something unlawfully enters my home and is a legitimate safety risk to my household. No, I don't own a gun. Still. Don't trust the evil bastards -- especially when they disappear behind the furniture. They're plotting.
@@waterbittenFunny, I have no problem with anything else outside of a natural, healthy fear. My sister hates scorpions -- growing up we both had our duties for pest control so it worked out. Now I may consider actually moving, size depending!
I love this so much! You look so frighteningly vogue & mysterious! This video is definitely being added to my "inspiration folder". I've been obsessed with spider webs too this spooky season. I've crocheted several spiderweb themed items (poncho, shawl, scarf) & have made a couple of hats using a variety of the spiderweb fabric we have in abundance here in the U.S. I also revamped a misty grey multilayered tulle skirt I've had for YEARS by attaching spider appliques within all the layers so it looks like I've been enveloped in a web cocoon. Your channel inspires me so much! Thank you for sharing your ideas & wonderfully quirky self with us!
I got soooo excited when you posted the preview pics, all 3 pieces turned out amazing! It's giving Morticia Addams meets Cruella de Ville. Very high fashion/haute couture vibes! The choker is Goth Business Bitch at a red carpet event.
You need to make spider arms attached to the bodice and sleeves of the dress and sides of shirt. Attach string in between the legs and when you move your arms everything will move at same time
I think some wire supports along the vertical lines on the skirt would’ve given it a more A-line shape, which might’ve helped the web effect. But overall I love the outfit!
I love it all, but that neckpiece is magnificent. I could see that on a runway model. The hat and the skirt really evoke webs without hitting you in the face with webs which can be an icky experience😉. I understand that most spiders are harmless, helpful for the environment, and I do try to catch and release if I find them in my territory. However no amount of couture or bespoke spider accessories will stop me from screaming when spiders or mice (ironically I have guinea pigs and a chinchilla so, illogical?) it they enter my abode.
Looove the whole ensemble, but its definitely missing a matching bag! Certainly, as the woman who made a sparkly anatomically correct heart you'd come up with something extremely cool for this one aswell :)

That bolero gives bat vibes so if a spider and a bat had a baby, that would be it xD
Using the black hot glue as a "manual 3D print" is actually genius! I love it!! 🕷
It’s so cool. I need to find some black hot glue and start playing!
I've seen Ariel's previous vids using hotglue to fill silicone moulds & make filigree pieces etc, so that technique seems very "her"? But I had no idea black hotglue was a thing?! 😮 Her creative vision is so unique, & her use of all available materials very inspiring!
That necklace looks like it belongs on the runway. I can't believe you managed to make something so elegant out of hot glue and Halloween decorations.
100%
The hat too! I 100% want a cool spiderweb hat now, even though I have nowhere to wear it! 😆
I was this year's old today before I learned about black hot glue!
Your Spidey garb is wicked cool.
I didn't think I'd be able to watch this because my severe arachnophobia, but I'm happy to say I only had to close my eyes for a little bit of the video and really enjoyed the reveal at the end!

I love spiders so l’m into this! I feel your skirt works better as a cape, gotta love a multifunctional piece!
Yeah, the skirt would look better with a big petticoat underneath.

You put in a lot of work on the skirt and hat (and they look great!) but it's the jewelry that commands my attention!

Sounds very Morticia Addams in style! 😆 Best of luck with the project, sounds super-dramatic & awesome!

Oooo, I love how everything came together here (I especially love the necklace)! I actually like spiders so adore an arachnid-inspired look ✨
The everyday version of your giant white one😊
that choker is INSPIRED!! looks like it would cost hundreds but was made so simply and cheaply! wow. and i LOVE the skirt as a robe/shawl piece!

Love both, the last one brought back memories of childhood cartoons.
I would love to see an entire dress made of hot glue and rhinestones 😍
The whole thing is a mood. Mais ce collier en hot glue... 🤩🤩
Extra points for perseverance. Great work.
Thanks.
I love this, especially when you went for a Lydia look! I loved that show as a kid/young teen! I watched it when I came home from school. So fun!
That neck piece! 🖤

The black hot glue neckpiece is amazing! It's incredible what can be done with simple materials and a good plan.
All the hearts and thumbs! sad there was no kitty in this episode. kitties will pounce on spiddys!

I once spent twenty minutes on a chair trying to convince my cat to handle a spider. My Dad eventually saved me.
Your creativity is a wonder.
I love the whole thing, but particularly the surprise appearance of the skirt as a poncho near the end!
(Hate spiders but) That necklace is awesome! The fact you picked two fiddle fabrics and still managed to finish this on time, hat off to you. Thank you for sharing
Looks very glamorous. ❤
Beware if the rain when wearing your lovely hat.
Most wood glue isn't water resistant
The black hot glue neck piece is magnificent. Very clever and chic.
I love the headpiece, so spooky!
Spectacularly spooky. That necklace turned out so amazing. Love the whole look.
Love how the skirt looked ontop but you should have left the neck piece on their that would have sealed the look

The neck piece is amazing! It looks like jewelry, not hot glue.
Your pieces are wonderful!
That necklace is wonderful, paired with the hat and skirt: totally Hallowe’en!❤
Love it! 🧡 That neck piece looks like expensive jewelry and the hat & skirt have a wonderful vintage vibe!! Tres bien!
I love how the necklace turned out and the skirt is versatile 😍 just beautiful!!
That poor floppy skirt! I think the hat would have looked better if you wound the velvet around the frame. This was such a cool idea!
