There is no need to apologize for your accent. It is part of you, and we are lucky to have you. The dress turned out cute, and I actually like the sleeves. With the chaos energy in this video, I do wonder if there are no sparkles because you ate them... 😁
Babe, we love your accent. I don't know about other English-speaking countries, but as an American I can state that hearing foreign accents is a BONUS.
I'm from Poland, my English isn't very good and I don't know French at all, but after watching Ariel for few months I have no problems understanding and I love her accent too
I'm from the UK and honestly your accent and stumbles over certain words are so adorable, I agree they're 100% a bonus and add to the "whimsy" of what you do. I love it!
Can confirm as an Englishman. Ariel’s voice is nice to listen to in general and not at all difficult to understand through her accent. The quirks make watching more enjoyable too. Also given how terrible the accents of native English speakers can often be when trying to speak other languages (despite the language in question’s phonetic rules often being far more regular and predictable than the mess that is english), it’s not like we have any place to judge 😂
I'm not French and I don't struggle with your accent at all, I enjoy it. Please don't worry about it. We are here for your creativity, skills, energy, sense of humour, and personality first of all. :-) Another stunning creation!
What a perfect summer dress! Personally and professionally (have taught English as a foreign language to French speakers for over nine years), I think your English is superb!
I looove your accent, it sounds so cute. And I have no problems understanding you (although I sometimes struggle with the technical aspects of sewing, but that is another chapter. I am still learning so much from you). Also, this dress turned out wonderfully.
Not your cat is still acting like a paid actor! Love it!! Also your dress is fantastic and beautiful, just like your accent. Thanks for putting in the hard work for us to watch!
As someone who has tried - several times! - to learn a second language, I am in awe of your vocabulary and clarity in English. It is not hard to understand or difficult to listen to at all!
ikr!! only reason I know Spanish is bc my parents speak it and I was taught it since I was little. I've been trying to learn japanese for months to no avail 😭😭
I studied French at school & when I visited my penpal in Brittany my language skills were on a par with her two year old nephew. Many years later I have forgotten most of what I learnt. My son's on the other hand speak multiple languages with ease. One is married to a Finn & the other has lives in Hungary & now teaches English at a high school I'm so jealous of anyone whois multi-lingual.
This! I took Spanish in school, and have tried to learn Japanese and German on my own. I could maybe find a bathroom in Spanish or German if I needed to. I'm always in awe of people who communicate fluently in multiple languages.
I can’t tell you enough how much I love your accent, I know that you are being kind enough to speak English for all of us that are useless at languages, and you have to find specialist words for sewing, I am in awe of your vocabulary and your sewing skills, the fact that you are fun and creative on top is incroyable- I murdered your language to make my point xx
Don't worry about the accent. I don't know about the rest of the world, but most of us in the US love accents. Yours is adorable. Whenever you struggle with the pronunciation of something I just think "oh, she's human and learning" and I'm reminded that you aren't just a goddess of sewing. I'm very envious of your language skills. The dress turned out so cute! I am seriously considering making something similar, even though I don't really like gingham. Ah, BTW, you got it right the first time, it's a hard G. Good instincts! I love how floofy it is, and it looks very comfortable.
Every time I hear a non-native English speaker stumble over a word, it just reminds me how frigging awful English must be to learn when you didn't grow up speaking it, there are so many rules that only apply half the time and no rhyme or reason for the exceptions!
Honestly, as a native English speaker, words like "gingham" are ones I don't know how to pronounce correctly either!! 😅 As an avid reader, even as a kid I was always running across the problem that I'd know all these words well in their written form, but had no idea how they were actually pronounced...
@@anna_in_aotearoa3166 Same! That is one nice thing about the ease of looking things up on the internet. Suddenly I could look up how a word I've always known was actually said out loud.
As someone with audio processing disorder, your accent is 100% fine!! It gets me to tune in more automatically, which makes your videos way easier to understand than even other Americans / other native speakers. Never apologize for a part of yourself! (though, in general, fixing up captions can be a life-saver for many viewers. Amara and Crowdscriber are good third-party sites to allow your community to contribute captions, because god knows it's a big task to add to your content routine)
I love your accent!! I'm from Austria and I have a strong German accent aswell when speaking. It's part of us! Love the cute pink ensemble you've made. So pretty 💞
Your accent is a feature not a flaw! It's honestly what first caught my attention on the first video I watched of yours. Of course your imagination, creativity, and sass is what made me stay. Thanks for sharing you with us!
Very much this! There's a lot of talented costume & fashion channels, but Ariel's accent and joie de vivre make her channel really likeable and memorable
Ariel that dress turned out amazing!! Now I want to make a pink gingham dress to see Barbie! Also never apologise for your accent, I love hearing it! I really love how you say waistband 😅
I was learning French in school and uni, but than had no practice in it for ages. So I love hearing some French words from you and even understanding them. And I love your accent, for me French is soo pleasant to hear.
Your accent is lovely, and you're not hard to understand at all. In fact, I followed you because your crafting is spectacular and your voiceover is incredibly fun. I'm an actor who is constantly striving to improve my dialect work, and I always pull up your videos for reference when I need to expose myself to French.
Sewing the elastic to the needle was GENIUS! I'm definitely using that trick! This is such a cute outfit, I love how it came together! I'm an American who knows maybe 4 words of French - I've never had trouble understanding your accent. It's a lovely accent! Stay sparkly 💖
Please do not feel like you need to apologize for your accent! Your English is much, much better than most of our French :) I love seeing how much your editing skills have progressed, too. Oh, and the dress is gorgeous, of course!
Not My Cat escaped the pink Barbie dress attack! :) The outfit looks super cute. Have fun at the movie! I will be watching it, too, on my side of the world. Maybe I can find something pink to wear. 💗
Your dress turned out so cute! Love the pouffette sleeves!! Not your cat looks to be a great sewing buddy. Please don't worry about us for your English or your accent! I am in awe of your language skills!! Language is hard and learning and speaking English even more so! Love your work! Look forward to your videos 💖
What?!? I love your accent!!! I could listen to you talk all day. Honestly it’s like everything you say it’s fancy and it doesn’t matter what you’re actually saying, it’s all just beautiful and fancy. If somebody could draw the way your voice sounds it would be the big frilly pink bow dress with all of the ruffles and ribbons and poof. That is what your voice sounds like and I say that in the best way possible.
Wait, those sleeves are SUPER cute! Without them, the vibe would be soooo different. If you want them to have more poof/retain their poof, you could always inset a lining and sandwich a bit of tulle between the lining and the sleeve fabric so that the tulle helps the poof keep its shape without scratching your skin?
I never have any problems understanding your accent. I like it. Also, I am in favor of the sleeves. Thank you for your videos, I look forward to seeing what you are up to next.
I love French, and I speak English, and I love hearing them both from you, and everything in-between!! Your pronunciation is very entertaining, and you try so hard! What is not to love?? ❤
This is so adorable! I'm making a Barbie outfit, too! But it's got 6 pieces and some are made by means other than sewing and there's no way I finish before the movie comes out. Yours is way cuter than mine will be, anyway.
That's adorable! I wish I had time to make a pink outfit before seeing the movie with my friends. Don't apologise for your accent - we love it, you are perfectly intelligible, and most English-speakers are used to hearing people speak English with all kinds of accents. Hope you have a great time at the cinema!
I think one of my favorite things is that you've just GOT so much stuff already done. Like even if you put a lot of work into something and don't finish that project, nothing's going to waste in the long term
Maybe I’m biased because my partner is French, but I never have trouble understanding you :) I think the big sleeves look great! They balance the top and the bottom and give that extra cottagecore aesthetic. Very cute!
Girl, your accent is one of my favourite things about you (along with your amazingly quirky personality and wonderful content)! I love listening to you, and I have no trouble understanding you. And I have an actual brain faulty issue thing where I struggle to understand regular words cause my brain doesn't want to process things properly, so when even -I- can understand you just fine then your accent isn't a problem. It's absolutely delightful, in my not-so-humble opinion!
I always enjoy a cameo by "cat who is not my cat...who is still not my cat". I admire the persistence of that remark in the face of cat-itude. Dress is quite adorable. I like the sleeves. It somehow seems more Barbie-like with the puffed sleeves sleeves. Maybe if you want the dress to be more versatile for warm weather, use the cosplayer trick (which I know you know due to that 🎉AWARD🎉) of attaching sleeves with velcro? I would say go with pink accessories such as jewelry and shoes, but the car bag is the ONLY accessory you need worry about and go with comfy shoes, I think that Barbie wore flats?😉
Truth be told I find it easier to understand you than some British accents, but then again I am German. And when I say "easier" I mean I have no trouble at all. Fancy that.
Your accent is charming! Don't change a thing, it's all part of the delightful experience of your videos! We understand you, the language of creativity is universal! ❤
„Other foreign country“ (germany): ✨your accent is just perfect to sound pleasant. ✨Please do not loose it!!! A french accent like your‘s is lovely. If an accent is too hard (in every language), toenails start to wrinkle up- but a sligth accent makes a person often even more sympathical. And the french accent is one of the most sonore ones😉🇫🇷🥐🥖☕️ I like the way you improved your videos! Great work! And nice work!!!
Your accent is one of my favorite things about your videos, I love listening to you talk and when you speak french in your videos! Also, I just love the way you say "waistband" it sounds so cute. So don't feel bad at all! The poufette sleeves are super cute! They turned out great and I love that you were able to use every bit of the fabric. The bow on the hat is cute too.
Oh my goodness I love it so much! And also like others have said I love your accent and I think anyone who is not multilingual and thinks that they should be capable of correcting you is just wrong and people who are multilingual also can shut up. Closed captions though are priceless!
Your English is awesome. Never apologize for being bilingual. I only barely speak the one language. You’re doing great. And most of your pronounciations were perfect by the way.
So cute I love the dress!! The sleeve are super cute but it would look amazing with or without sleeves❤️ I love the shot of you trying to capture the kitty and it runs away I felt that haha. You’re accent is wonderful I love hearing the way you say things even if I don’t quite understand I’m enjoying watching the process of you creating these masterpieces!!
I absolutely adore your accent!! Maybe it’s because I took 3 years of French class in high school, but I never ever struggle to understand you. If it makes you feel better, talk to text on my phone has a hard time understanding my Texan accent. Also your dress came out amazing! I got a similar fabric and have been stressing out about trying to make it movie accurate, but I think I’ll follow your lead and just make my own summer dress out of it that I’ll still wear to the movies 🥰
I too really enjoy your accent and the fun of you trying to pronounce some of the more challenging words! The outfit is lovely and I feel needs the sleeves to balance the floofiness of the skirt. I wonder if its the bottom of the sleeves that is giving you doubts? The outer edge looks lower than the inner and maybe altering that line to be more level would help? Also if you have a lot of ruffles in your future I would suggest investigating a vintage Singer ruffle foot. It should fit your modern machine and will be a gamechanger. Really fun to watch it work too! Enjoy the movie 💓
I don’t have problems understanding your accent; your English is very good and your accent is charming. Also, I think it’s especially funny when you poke fun at French stereotypes; that always cracks me up.
There's also a foot you can buy for your serger that will gather fabric for you! You change the differential feed on your serger, and it will gather the fabric for you! That's how I make all my petticoats.
So it turns out I am slightly more intelligent than TH-cam's closed captioning. Allowing me to understand you perfectly, but then I've always been a sucker for a good accent.
This dress is the perfect solution for the disgusting heat of the Summer. It's gorgeous, and you look marvelous wearing it! This dress brought back memories of my favorite dress, pink gingham, that I had when I was a little girl. Have a great time at the movie, xoxo's Sandie😊💞
Don’t ever complain about your beautiful accent! I am an American, from the Deep South, so I have one of those southern hillbilly accent you always see in the movies that makes us out to seem dumb and stupid 😂 😂 I say a lot of yalls and I’m always “fixin” to go or do something or other 🤣❤️ The dress is beautiful and the puffy sleeves are perfect!!
I thinks is too cool that you live speak French, makes content in English and I watch from a Portuguese speaking country. Also, congrats for your videos, I love them. You're such a incredible person putting a lot of effort into making this clothes and content! A hug from Brasil 🤗
I love your accent! I think it's honestly very soothing to listen to, personally. Also I love the sleeves, I think they're super cute with that outfit! Though if you're planning on mixing and matching the outfit in the future, it might be more versatile without the sleeves. It's really up to you, imo. I hope you have a ton of fun at the Barbie movie!
Wonder if they could be made detachable using small domes or very thin velcro along the seams! Feels like that would be in line with the idea of having the outfit be adaptable for use as single pieces or as a full outfit, & add even more flexibility? Esp. when it gets very hot!
Your accent is lovely, as everyone else has said h - don't let TH-cam's captions put you off. (Seriously, they can't even tell the difference between music and applause.) I don't think you're hard to understand either. Besides which, I don't even know a second language, let alone try and film videos in one! Your projects are always so full of joy and you are a pleasure to watch ♥
The outfit is super stinking cute!I love the sleeves but I see why they would make you wear the top less often in the future. Proposal: detach the sleeves, add elastic around the top and a few snapbuttons. You could have detachable sleeves the you could pair with other outfits (like that skirt, basic black top and ~ *sleeves* ~)
I don't know how I missed this video, but omg that skirt is so swooshy and it's all so pink, and flouncy, and adorable! I want this outfit for my own! Gonna have to make something. I'm glad you mentioned your amount of fabric at the beginning so I know approx how much I need to get
I love the shirt you’re wearing while making the skirt btw! Always in awe (and envy) of your skill and creativity, also your accent is perfectly intelligible don’t worry! I appreciate the little quirks and they don’t have any impact on your effective communication :) Guest kitty is always welcome too xD ❤
I think your accent is delightful. I appreciate that sometimes you add your own captions, but, I certainly don't expect or ask it of you!💗 In English/ American, many people have regional accents anyway, although Californian accent seems to be globally popular these days. In my region we say "gingham" to rhyme with "king-um" (like drum & come), but, I really don't care how you pronounce it. Your voice and accent are a delight to listen to. My condolences on your struggle. English pronunciation & spelling are profoundly challenging, even for many who speak only English.
I must listen to a lot of different sorts of accented English because I feel like I barely register any sort of "sounds weird" except for when you humorously upplay yours! I think it sounds fine and is easy to understand. Thank you for the fun sewing project videos! I love watching stuff get made and learning things - like how to make curves look nicer - about sewing from these.
The accent is cute and subtle and gives character to your videos (I wish my English accent sounded as charming when I attempt French). Also if you’re going full Barbie that bow should be on the back of the skirt on the waistband
I love the growing trend of people making outfits to go to the movies. This was so cute~. As far as your accent is concerned, I’ve heard a lot of difficult to understand accents and trust me, you’re fine. Hehe
That's a great dress - looks really lovely on you. I'd turn the hat band into a headband (bow on the side), but that's just me because the hat isn't a straw one. . .possibly In the future you could pair the dress with an ruffled white pinafore apron to make the ultimate cottagecore outfit.
I feel your pain in hemming all the ruffles!! 😅 Loved the shot with the pink ruffle just looping across the whole room... 😂 And what a bonus being able to reuse the petticoat ruffle, very clever to hang onto it! Also, I suspect even most of us as native English speakers don't know which pronunciation is the right way to say "gingham" correctly either...?! 😜
Never be worried about your accent. Love it. In fact I watch your videos to practice mine as my DND character has a French accent because of your channel!
Ok order placed for my new shampoo and conditioner set! 😂 I went a little crazy, I got the caddy set, sampler set, pillow cases, scrunchies, shaving bars and more! My daughter is going to love these!! Thank you so much ❤😊

And the french accent is one of the most sonore ones😉🇫🇷🥐🥖☕️
I like the way you improved your videos! Great work!
And nice work!!!
The sleeves are excellent! The poof is such a look
Good thing you have an infinite supply of bed sheets for your projects 😉
9:14 You're good. We know what you are meaning and completely understand. 👍
NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR 🥐🥐🥐
quasso
🥐 yur aksant iz zharming!
This turned out beautiful! I’m in the process of making my own version of Barbie’s dress using a 1959 pattern!❤
Perfect to go with the car and the perfect harness!!! You know.. theres only one thing that can be said.
MMMOOOORRREEEE!!!
It's so amazing to me how much talent you bring to these videos. I love your editing.
That is one of the best dresses you've made and it makes you look even cuter than normal. Well done my lady, well done.
This dress is the perfect solution for the disgusting heat of the Summer. It's gorgeous, and you look marvelous wearing it! This dress brought back memories of my favorite dress, pink gingham, that I had when I was a little girl.
Have a great time at the movie,
xoxo's Sandie😊💞
Thank you so much!
I came for the crafting but stayed for the whimsy and the accent!
And don't apologize for your english, it's good!
The microphone on the little spoon is everything. 🥄❤
I thinks is too cool that you live speak French, makes content in English and I watch from a Portuguese speaking country. Also, congrats for your videos, I love them. You're such a incredible person putting a lot of effort into making this clothes and content! A hug from Brasil 🤗
Okay but your accent is therapeutic!!! Don't you dare apologize for it!!! I want you to just narrate my life please and thank you
I love your accent!
The perfect twirl dress! Very cottage chic.
Good idea!
I appreciate the little quirks and they don’t have any impact on your effective communication :)
Guest kitty is always welcome too xD ❤
Your accent is delightful. This turned out perfect! And your sleeves have the perfect amount of Puff!!!
I think your accent is delightful.
I appreciate that sometimes you add your own captions, but, I certainly don't expect or ask it of you!💗
In English/ American, many people have regional accents anyway, although Californian accent seems to be globally popular these days.
Your accent is a bonus and a delight, and not at all difficult to understand 💖
I can listen to your accent all day long. I am sure that I'd be doing the same thing with French words. You have all the understanding from me.
You are the queen of SWOOSH 😍 I wonder if there's an easy way to make the sleeves detachable, so you could wear them only when you feel like it 🤔
Good idea, maybe finishing the edge, and having little buttons on the shoulder straps.
Love the swosh, it's a sign of an excellent skirt.
Your English is so good, never apologise ❤
Ok order placed for my new shampoo and conditioner set! 😂 I went a little crazy, I got the caddy set, sampler set, pillow cases, scrunchies, shaving bars and more! My daughter is going to love these!! Thank you so much ❤😊
les poufettes! sometimes french just makes the cutest words.
