FTR-1200 It's very solid at 500# Very stable in the curves.. Long Wheelbase .. It won't wheelie by accident // It has power from 3,000 RPM but the Torque kicks in at 6,000 RPM's and pulls hard to 9,000 RPM's
Absolutely the best middle naked and best looking one on the market!!! Little baby tune and it goes over 155 easy..... Tune and it will pop up in the first 3 gears... Cat delete and slip on make a huge difference. It's also an absolutely beautiful machine and if you haven't played with one in the twisties, go for it. I can't say how many bullet bikes I've lit up in the canyons.... Bike handles awesome and runs awesome!!!
@@glennhand2593 ridden both, and there’s no comparison. The ftr handles and corners significantly better. And has a better sporty ridding position. The sportster is a little faster in a straight line. But is really hampered by the riding position and poor lean angle “compared to the FTR”

Love my Harley’s but I’d try the ftr. I’ve always liked naked bikes cause the stances being more up right and aggressive makes them so much more like dirt bikes and that’s what I grew up riding.
Word. I know there were some pros and cons to the wheel sizes on the first edition/changes they made on the newer models. I think for the average joe, the current set up makes sense for keeping things simple. But I agree the flat track wheels look more authentic.
Completely agree. The fuelling is diabolical though and the exhaust hideous on the 19. It needs a full exhaust system (if you cat delete), a bench tune and a series of after market mods to get the best out of it and make it resemble the flat track racer that it purports to be, but you're right, the 18/19 wheels really are in sympathy with the FT pedigree. I've chucked serious coin at mine and it isn't far off the project bike that they tantalisingly rolled out in 2018.

I actually own one and just Love it. My only 2 complaints are, seat a bit small for a big guy like me, 235 lbs 6’2” and gas ⛽️ tank too small, besides these, Just Love the Beast and the looks I get on the roads
A much needed larger fuel tank or additional linked tank would be a great start... fixed fairing with MX style high-mount fender and some nice tubular crash guards on either side with auxiliary lighting mounted to it. Large GPS nav display (NOT ANY FORM OF RIDE COMMAND!!!). I'd pay $15-18k for something like that, depending on accessories offered at launch.

I new chassis/frame would be obvious, to make way for the larger fuel tank or additional linked tank. But many of the parts used on the FTR could be reused in an adventure platform. I have a 2017 Yamaha r6 I am looking for a more comfortable ride but still sporty and power I am 5’6 do you think this will be a good switch I also did like the Ducati scrambler pro any suggestions?
Depends what you want it for. The Ducati is a much smaller bike physically with significantly less torque than the Indian, but more versatile. The FTR is a completely unique motorcycle, very individual, but expensive, arguably impractical and highly nuanced. IT;s also much more expensive than the Ducati.
For what you get, 17k is understandable. Go find me a new HD with inverted fully adjustable forks, fully adjustable rear suspension, brembo brakes, brembo masters, braided lines, wheelie control, ride modes and carbon panels for 17k... Hint, you can't. It's literally a race bike right off the floor!

Nothing like these. Burn outs, drifting, wheelies, racing, stoppies. They do it all and gladly so. Also fun to beat up on sport bikes and Stage 9,000 CVOs.
They've had street fighter bikes for a long time that make way more power than and FTR. And handle way better as well. FTRs do alot of thing well but it's not gonna outhandle a superduke or by any means out power an mt10. A ducati 1200r will destroy one in corners. Cool bikes tho. Fun to ride. Practical power on the street. And honestly a stage 4 CVO with a bullt 128 will walk an ftr in a straight line. But one is 230lbs more has a fairing stereo rear seat and bags. Comparing apples to oranges. Go ride a built m8 bike with a decent 128 set up. 150hp/150tq at the wheel is not joke.
Smooth power delivery? Predictable power delivery, why it sont freak you out maybe. I've never rode ftr but was always little intimidated to seriously look into the bike, seen lot of videos of people taking off and wheeling unintentionally, and was like dang this must be just wild bike, maybe people just dont know how to ride showing up at these demo days and messing up. Idk sounds approachable though from your thoughts.

@@gd6349 No engine upgrades have been done to the weeStrom no exhast intake or anything. It runs away from all American made V twins. Sadly. Doesn't even breathe hard at 100 mph. Not bad for a totalled bike resurected. It is a wheelie monster! 650 V twin. Has no bad habits at all. On my local mountain road it is the best and I own 7 bikes. Including an 03 SV1000S that I bought new. It is a riot. Suzukis Ducati. Very comfortable at insane speeds. But reliable.

My son just swapped a 22 lowrider S for this today.
I've got 18000 miles on my 2019 base model. No issues and still smiling! Insurance is only 250 a year. Nice.

I have a 2019 Race Replica. It is my first motorcycle with a motor over 800cc. I love this thing. I hope they bring back the 2019 model one day.

They would have to fundamentally change the bike from stem to stern. It is not an adv platform by any measure
