This is the bike most people need instead of the current super sport bikes. They are comfy, can handle what most riders will throw at it and are not “fast”. You don’t need to go 180 on public roads, but racing from light to light is a blast on these. Coming from someone who has an FTR, had a Ducati 848 evo and a gsxr 750.
yeah its nice, but I found my happy place on my 22' Ducati Streetfighter V2. Upright comfy seating and body positioning for my old back and 153HP of ripping performance and it handles like a scalpel.
As an ftr owner I can tell you that the exhaust absolutely roasts your nuts to the point that it's almost painful. Also mine has had several serious electronic issues.
Yup, need an FTR in my life too. These have come down quite a bit. I found a rebuilt title Carbon edition for $6500!!! Even for a clean one they’re only about 9500
I've had my 2022 FTR Black Smoke for 3 years now. Got the Toce exhaust, Lloydz tune, mirrors & lights tidied up. I LOVE this thing, I also own a Ruby 2023 Sport Chief for hauling my leading lady around in comfort, even tho the FTR can do it easily, just not as passenger friendly ;) For the FTR I highly recommend just getting the base model & doing the mods & upgrades yourself, but if you wanna spend that extra 5k for a carbon & the money doesn't matter, umm go for it. That new 100% blue carbon version is AMAZING, the dealership here in SLC has one & it is a work of art. Putting some new Continentals on in a couple weeks so that'll be nice to get back on fresh rubber. Anyway, ride safe, & happy hunting. Really enjoyed your video.

I just installed toce full system with Ryan's v6. You're right. Gopro doesn't do justice. Toce/Ryan's v6 setup delivers such a unique riding experience with thunder like sound. Incredible Machine
Memphis Shades makes front fairings for other Indian models, but nothing on their website for the FTR. It would look good (and help with the wind) if they come out with a Cafe Fairing and/or Bullet Fairing for the FTR.... give 'em a call, Burch.
I own this bike and it's fun...rode it to Daytona from S. Fla and it's not the most comfortable for that kind of riding but holy crap it's a lot of fun to ride
I just bought a super hooligan, this thing is awesome! Tough because I’m still in the break in period and this bike loves higher rpms but after about 800 miles I’ll start ripping it more, def getting this exhaust.. sounds sick! Great bike.
Love mine, lloydz V6 tune and toce exhaust but with the 19/18 tires. it's such a unique bike and sounds like nothing else I've heard. Like you said, there's no way to do the audio justice unless you hear it in person.
I went from an r6 to not riding years because of little kids, that are now older and I’m riding again. I went out on a limb and got a Harley, an m8 streetbob hoping it would be sporty enough being their lighter 655lbs model with near 100hp and 120lbs of tq. It was quick to me at first and definitely not the slowest. But heavy. It’s a great cruiser, but I still want to hoon more, i wish id had just gotten the ftr. Probably try and trade soon when im not as upside down on the Harley.
I like the idea of setting one up as a scrambler. I come from a MX background and have been off dirtbikes for too long (still have them, but collecting dust) and only street riding. So a scrambler would take me back to roots a bit. I can daily it and blast a dirt road/trail when I see one running around. It also would be a sporty change of pace when not riding my Harley.
Sport nakeds are the perfect motorcycle, especially for those who can only own one bike. They are so versatile and so great for so many different applications. If the bank account permits it I definitely recommend you grab yourself one. And you can always do what I do and add a windscreen for when you do long stints and then take it off when you are going to be doing more city riding, but your rebel is definitely a far better touring bike.
FTR coming soon hell yeah! That’s a bad ass bike. There’s some speculation that the FTR engine may be in a Sport Scout model which would be insane. Looking forward to that reveal in a couple days!
Was on your channel because I was looking at the mods you did on the Honda scrambler, but Ive been looking at the samme FTR for awhile now. Seems we have similar taste
All Indians are sweet but the FTR is just on a different level. It’s almost on an island by itself. I really like the look of the Rally, but prefer the wheel/tire setup of the other models. I may just be a sucker for the Indian in full headdress on the tank on the Rally.
3:00 this exact railroad track back in 07/08/2017 is the day I became the Shocker! That’s where I crashed my Ducati Monster and lost my finger! Back then it was wayyyy worse. Huge potholes and heavy gritty road
Bought a 675R a year and a half ago and absolutely love it (esp on the track) but want another bike for the street and I'm deciding between this FTR and a mt-09sp. Has anyone rode both and if so, how similar or different are they and which would you prefer for street riding and just chilling, with the occasional ripping and twisties.
Dunno if it’s a unpopular opinion but fxkit. The og 2019 Speedo display with the bar you had on is cooler than the new 2023 with a billion gauges and info.
Really wish Indian would produce a competitor to BMW's GS using the FTR platform. Can you imagine? I used to own a 2019 FTR 1200 and to this day it's my favorite bike. The only reason I had to move on from it was that I had to get luggage and wind protection. I was getting beat to death highway commuting on it. But an FTR with GSA-like wind protection AND the ability to mount luggage on it? Also maybe a stronger power plus? Maybe from the Challenger? I honestly think it'd be a Harley killer...
I really enjoy the way you present your videos and I was wondering if you could recommend anybody else that does Honda or Indian motorcycle videos in a similar style please and thank you

XSR is way lighter. The brakes on the FTR feel better. Overall I feel as though the FTR is more premium feeling but I would buy the XSR because of weight and cost savings.
