Well as someone else pointed out, EA pushed DICE into making new games, so DICE devs left an support was lost because EA just wants new games. The Battlefield franchise is also a lot older and has had many great games lmao
Calvin S it just didn’t deserve the hype that it did. It was kinda a lack luster game, especially with the limited weapons and customization at launch. I’ve been playing since beta, and have watched so many BF2 vids, and really, I think they could’ve done better, but ig we only have the Battlefield franchise to look forward to
Back in 2009 I was always on TH-cam looking at battlefront 3 rumor videos and then in 2013 we got confirmation of the Dice/EA battlefront reboot. Now here I am again... hoping for battlefront 3. The cycle is now complete the curse of battlefront 3 continues.
I’m expecting a Battlefront 3, but in 3 years at least. Of course there are no plans right now and as a fan of both Battlefield and Battlefront I think is a good idea to focus al resources on one game. I would say that I’m almost 100% sure we will get a BF3 (:

to be fair, Battlefield is one of EA's mainline franchises. Disney rented star wars out to EA for like 10 years, which is coming to a close i believe, unless they've renewed it. It makes sense that EA would refocus on the franchise they OWN, and one of their all-time most popular franchises. I do still wish we couldve finished BF2 with ahsoka though.
I thought DICE was the perfect choice for battlefront since they are the creators of battlefield and the original battlefronts used the battlefield formula. Who else could handle the large scale warfare? But they decided to differentiate it from battlefield to my disappointment. I really hope whoever makes swbf3 they go back to that large scale battlefield style of warfare and classes without star cards and more team play involved

The reason it wasn't like battlefield is because the fan base didn't want star wars battlefield they wanted battlefront. So DICE tried to differentiate but in reality the OG was a battlefield clone.

Something as massive as Star Wars needs that battlefield flare. Besides, there’s enough differences to make it unique. The space battles, reinforcements, hero’s and it could have even more if they brought back capital ship boarding or finally introduce ground to space combat just the og swbf3 would have had if it wasn’t cancelled. It's such a shame that support of this game had to end just because Battlefield V was a failure. Really wish we could have seen that last hurrah with Ahsoka, Ventres, and Coruscant would have been a great conclusion to a great game.

They might start working on it after Battlefield 6. Which means license extension. (Edit) : Also, once battlefield is almost done, somepeople will move on. Its not like the team abandoned Battlefront. They confirmed that they would of kept working on it. Sadly, EA had other plans.

Man it's rare to see devs wanting to continue supporting a game but the publisher won't allow it. Let's hope that battlefield 2021 will be worth cancelling this game. And for Skywalker saga I hope they bring back those big battlefield levels from lego star wars 3 those were the best.
What makes me scratch my head is why EA thinks canceling a game is a good idea altogether seeing that it's profitable and has a healthy community. It would make more sense to come out and say, "we're going to stop frequent content updates in light of a new battlefield IP coming soon. This does not mean there will be no more updates in the future, but it's halted for now." EA loves saving money so it doesn't make any sense why they would just cancel a game just to dump a ton of money and resources into a future battlefront. Adding small content updates ever so often indefinitely is far more cost efficient than canceling and starting new. It doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, nobody wants or has asked for a battlefront 3. We're all content with 2, we just want more stuff (naturally). Making skins, reinforcements, maps and weapons ever so often has to be FAR cheaper than making a brand new game. I can't wrap it around my head what they were thinking. The only thing I can think of is because their contract is expiring with Disney, but I thought they had another 3 years. If that's the case, they've done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot seeing they have another year (at least) with Disney.

Hey Elliot! I haven’t been involved in the BF2 community for a little while now but I just want to say thanks for everything. I was quite sad to hear the end of support for the game. Hope you’re well and stay well!
Rockstar should make a new open world “gta-like” Star Wars game either in the clone wars or original trilogy era with the same gameplay mechanics as bf2. You can buy large amounts of weapons, vehicles and different types of armour. The main planet can be coruscant or tatooine. You can explore multiple cities or areas on multiple planets ( obviously you won’t be able to go through the entire planet). You can also become a Jedi and have 1v1 duels with other people in dojo-like systems following the same mechanics as Jedi fallen order.
SWBF 2's only gonna last a couple of more months because of EA ending support. There really isn't much more content. We just got Scarif with this update.
We need a Battlefront 3. The series has never gotten a proper third sequential installment. This is EA's and Dice's chance to finally break that cycle. If they learn from the mistakes they made from the first two games then we can finally have the Battlefront game we have been waiting for since 2005.
I wish that EA and Dice would make a update to Battlefront 2015 where a co op like gamemode would allow players to be able to play on the DLC maps because I used to love the death star DLC but because the game died it's impossible to get in lobbies for the map
Okay. I may end up being completely wrong about this. But I have a feeling that whatever DICE LA becomes will lead the next battlefront. Only because that studio had a tone that fit what Battlefront needs more

Good that I waited with the Maul Challenge. I use the time to lvl my remaining Heros and Villains espacially with the original trilogy Heros now useable in coop
They better change grievous claw rush. Since they made the change that you can control that movement with your mouse it’s broken. He can hit you 3 times in a row before you can get a shot off.

Could easily make a Battlefront 3: Clones Wars - with Ahsoka, Ventress, Savage Opress, Cad Bane and all the other characters like Anakin, Grevious, Obi-Wan, Dooku, etc. Massive missed opportunity.
One thing I would like to see if there was a bf3, commander mode, you control a squad of around 10 cpu and you can specialise each soilder with classes and star cards could be cool

The battlefront title will for ever be haunted by battlefront 2's launch star wars should be passed to another publisher because EA clearly does not care about star wars because battlefront worked so hard to get a new reputation and it did it was doing so well and they cancelled it is star wars online wants to be popular it needs a fresh start and new publisher.
Broken lobby, no ship phase, empire is too strong, because of lack of ship phase matches are too short, no Jyn and Krennic on Scarif it's outrageous it's unfair i waited for OT in supremacy but for me its big disappointment(especially its final update) at least for now supremacy in prequel and sequel era is much much better
I feel while they are abandoning the whole live service plan, we may see small skins and updates here and there adding occasional new locations for battlefront 2 and maybe a new hero every year or so....
Battlefront 2 Supremacy matchmaking is very broken after this last update. I keep having problems arriving at the match at the end of the battle, having trouble even finding a match, and also showing up to the battle at the right time but with no enemy team. It's very frustrating when Scarif has been out for a week and I haven't even played it yet.

The only thing I can think of is because their contract is expiring with Disney, but I thought they had another 3 years. If that's the case, they've done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot seeing they have another year (at least) with Disney.

It would be nice if they could rebalance the weapons. The default Assault weapon has the same stats as the E-11D!
I hope someday we get a sort of Battlefront anthology game that has all the games combined into one, sort of like the Halo Master Chief collection.

Spawns on scarif and takodana are completely one sided for imperials because of the player spawns.
Rockstar should make a new open world “gta-like” Star Wars game either in the clone wars or original trilogy era with the same gameplay mechanics as bf2. You can buy large amounts of weapons, vehicles and different types of armour. The main planet can be coruscant or tatooine. You can explore multiple cities or areas on multiple planets ( obviously you won’t be able to go through the entire planet). You can also become a Jedi and have 1v1 duels with other people in dojo-like systems following the same mechanics as Jedi fallen order.
We don’t even need another Battlefront for a while, Battlefront 2 has pretty much the whole package now

SWBF 2's only gonna last a couple of more months because of EA ending support. There really isn't much more content. We just got Scarif with this update.
Tons of missing heroes, villains, maps and weapons to be fair although the game is still awesome just a shame its ending

We need a Battlefront 3. The series has never gotten a proper third sequential installment. This is EA's and Dice's chance to finally break that cycle. If they learn from the mistakes they made from the first two games then we can finally have the Battlefront game we have been waiting for since 2005.
I wish that EA and Dice would make a update to Battlefront 2015 where a co op like gamemode would allow players to be able to play on the DLC maps because I used to love the death star DLC but because the game died it's impossible to get in lobbies for the map

on attack mode (instant action) the ai soldiers get stuck on the B point on the second wave and its impossible to win the third wave

Good that I waited with the Maul Challenge. I use the time to lvl my remaining Heros and Villains espacially with the original trilogy Heros now useable in coop

They better change grievous claw rush. Since they made the change that you can control that movement with your mouse it’s broken. He can hit you 3 times in a row before you can get a shot off.
Dice should be able to give us one last big and final update to the game and add ahsoka and ventress with whatever they would add

Been following this channel for a long time. So sad to finally see an end to this incredible game’s support. I’d love to see what kind of future content you have in store. I’d personally love to see you cover the old Battlefront games, like the PSP titles.
Could easily make a Battlefront 3: Clones Wars - with Ahsoka, Ventress, Savage Opress, Cad Bane and all the other characters like Anakin, Grevious, Obi-Wan, Dooku, etc. Massive missed opportunity.
One thing I would like to see if there was a bf3, commander mode, you control a squad of around 10 cpu and you can specialise each soilder with classes and star cards could be cool

the next battlefront game should be the old republic themed, that would sell an insane amount of copies and it would just give all the star wars fans a fresh new game with fresh new ideas. i’m surprised they haven’t already done this because it literally is an amazing idea that they need to get on
Too bad to see Battlefront going away, but cool to see a new update for Fallen Order. Hopefully Lego Star Wars can hold us over until more cool games show up on the horizon.

The fact they have no plans for any fixes right after a release is crazy. They should at least plan to do 1 fix after a release.

The battlefront title will for ever be haunted by battlefront 2's launch star wars should be passed to another publisher because EA clearly does not care about star wars because battlefront worked so hard to get a new reputation and it did it was doing so well and they cancelled it is star wars online wants to be popular it needs a fresh start and new publisher.
Broken lobby, no ship phase, empire is too strong, because of lack of ship phase matches are too short, no Jyn and Krennic on Scarif it's outrageous it's unfair i waited for OT in supremacy but for me its big disappointment(especially its final update) at least for now supremacy in prequel and sequel era is much much better
You could say that EA and Dice made their own version of WW2 Berlin. With two games and two fronts.

I feel while they are abandoning the whole live service plan, we may see small skins and updates here and there adding occasional new locations for battlefront 2 and maybe a new hero every year or so....

Battlefront 2 Supremacy matchmaking is very broken after this last update. I keep having problems arriving at the match at the end of the battle, having trouble even finding a match, and also showing up to the battle at the right time but with no enemy team. It's very frustrating when Scarif has been out for a week and I haven't even played it yet.
So long battlefront updates thanks for letting me tune in that past few years but we had to take a L.
Just give the Rebels the scavenged AT-ST Resistance has. That will fix the problem of Empire being OP
