I worked in a hospital for 44 years. Every gown was the same style and color and they all came from an outside service. Everyone, children to adults, wore the same gown. Like Brenda said, they were "just patients". What she did was wonderful. She gave each person the choice to be different. I wish I had thought of that. It would have made a BIG difference to not only the person wearing it but to the families that came to visit. Thanks Brenda... and thanks to you George.
I make something called Poncho Power, and it is pink for people with cancer, mainly breast cancer. I use natural fibers like cotton, wool, silk, linen, and when it is donated acrylic fleece. The poncho takes 1 yard of fabric. I teach how to make one on TH-cam. I don't charge for them for people with cancer. I have been making them for a design groups I belong to. So far I have sold one and given one away. I am glad you are making anything to help the core of sick people stay warm and secure. I don't have any organization. My work is on a smaller scale than your nonprofit. I retired from my nonprofit. I worked for 10 years and now I am only making ponchos when someone surfaces, which is not as often.
How many of us watch these shows and think, gee I could really use a George rescue. But for us, we haven't suffered like most of the people on these episodes with cancer or physical disabilities or death of a loved one. We have just gone through several years of life draining financial difficulties that have left us unable to finish what we've started in our home. Not sure that would actually qualify us for a George to the Rescue rescue. But I do really enjoy watching these shows.
Such a worthy woman with a worthy mission. I worked in a nursing home and ALWAYS hated the hospital gowns we had to put on residents. I do have one question. Where did you hide the rest of the fabric? I know she had 100 times the amount we saw placed on the shelves LOL! A fabulous rescue George and crew!
George you're wonderful. Brenda you're a hero! I cried when Brenda just held Susan's hand. Susan your grandmother is proudly looking down at you. The world needs you George!
As a Cancer survivor myself, I appreciate the mission she is on. She is magnificent :) I do have sewing room envy though, those built in's are amazing. The monogramming sewing machine....wow! My sewing table fell apart a few years ago and was never replaced. The kitchen table has become my sewing area. I think I might be motivated to carve out a space for sewing somehow and the sewing table will be on my Christmas wish list :) George, you made her so happy and organized all of her supplies so well, besides making each room absolutely lovely. Keep paying it forward.
Brenda your Hug Wraps are a great idea, and what George did for you was just fantastic. We need in this world more people like you and people like George and his crew to help you. 💐 for Brenda 👏👏👏 for George and crew.
This lady sews night goes for other ladies that are going through cancer as she has. She is providing a great uplifting gown to make other feel and look better about themselves. Great job.
Oh George, your hugs are the best part of each & every rescue. 💯 And what a beautiful rescue it is & for a delightful, truly selfless & dedicated lady, Miss Brenda. To all of you who helped George & Miss Brenda...you did a wonderful thing for Hug Wraps & in turn helped innumerable people feel a little better as they fight the good fight against cancer. Thank you 🙏
Omi gawsh George at the end!! Talking turkey, lol and got some response back...! (I knew I had seen a turkey in the background before too.) Anyway wonderfully done, great job, for a very deserving lady, such a lovely person, so cute how she's so sweet and adoring with George, but he is adorable... ! I absolutely have organisation envy, and sewing station/office envy too now! :P
Im not sure I can follow her point when it comes to the impact it has what you wear. I mean if I had cancer and specially breastcancer, I couldnt care less what I had to wear. What would matter to me, was to get healthy and cancerfree again. But for those it matters for, respect, for what she does :)
Brenda is not only a sweetheart but she is an amazing woman too.
oh my goodness. seeing Georges eyes when he was sewing was priceless.
Thank you, George ♥️ love you ❤️
She is an angel, I always said that angels come to people's lives in many forms. God bless her.
Amazing woman! God bless you Brenda and George. Great renovation for such a deserving cause.

They want to be on the show just to hug George.
