OMG. Loving everything here. Sean actually being deferential and not going for the kill. David turning the tables and interviewing back. Then David dying and still going like we've never seen him on TV before.
I can't imagine what that level of hot sauce would do to a brain, so the fact that, after all of that, he was able to get four of the five mother sauces is clearly the sign of a superior being.
I like pumpkin pie. (Starbucks has oversaturated things, not pumpkin's fault.) Gourds are fine, wtf David Chang??! Gourds: squash , watermelon , pumpkin , kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) I could eat every week.
as someone who has experienced most of those sauces including da bomb and the last dab apollo let me assure you the last 3 in that lineup are legit super-hot sauces not made for the faint of heart, mouth, stomach or b-hole... one small drop of apollo alone is enough to put my whole mouth on fire as if i have a mouth full of molten lava for about 5 or so minutes and i consider myself to have a pretty high capsicum tolerance i.e. - have eaten raw chocolate bhutlah pepper with little reaction.
@@jasonlebeau1288 I eat spicy pretty well, I can deal with spicy and I really enjoy spiych, but I tried Da Bomb and The Last Dab dry (no prepping) on tortilla chips... Da Bomb was so much worse than The Last Dab which made zero sense, but I think bc TLD has actual flavor, it kinda masks the heat a little, and Da Bomb has absolutely ZERO masking lmao. Da Bomb fucked me up.
@@Simitachi the reason da bomb is so much more painful is a combination of no actual good flavor to try to hide heat behind and it actually uses extract which makes it way way worse than non extract sauces of equal or greater shu. da bomb is for sure the worst on the lineup. apollo is an actual usable super hot sauce.
Mad respect for David Chang! Never seen a last "dab" turn into a lava fall. Good chef, down to Earth, and like Bourdain...doesn't mind ruffling a few feathers (although making fun of pumpkin pie, yelpers, and hamburgers with beets on it isn't exactly mocking Emeril as a troll). 2) Could the makers of DaBomb come on the show and explain themselves?!
What's there to explain? Those people wanted capsaicin pain in a bottle and to be fair, some people want heat. No flavor, just pain.
The American flag in the background of the yelp section... pure unadulterated majesty! well done
That “support 3 to 5 restaurants” advice is beautiful
Sean preaching what Yelp's true purpose should be, great to see him get so passionate 😂
Absolutely! I could not agree with him more.
“You should run for office goddamnit” 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know what it is, but I love David Chang. I think it's his demeanor and mix of knowledge and pure passion for food providing a good balance. Glad to see him finally on the show!
OMG. Loving everything here. Sean actually being deferential and not going for the kill. David turning the tables and interviewing back. Then David dying and still going like we've never seen him on TV before.
David, you took that last wing like a savage. I was thinking, that shit is going to hurt real real bad. Well done sir.
I love the fine dining question. Super smart and considerate answer.
Holy shit, this man gave a well thought out, deep, insightful, and self reflective answer after Da Bomb.
That’s hall of famer shit right there
Yet again, a 10/10 choice in guest. But sweet lord, Sean, that jacket was a BOLD move.
Saw this comment before vid started, died when I saw Sean ☠️☠️☠️
That jacket is making me call my dealer
This mans smile is infectious, loved this interview!
I think David’s got the record for most last dab dabbed on the last wings
Definitely
That was no last dab - that was the last drench
David-"That was stupid" goes in for another bite
Let's not forget the 'all sauces' last dab
You obviously haven't watched the Shaq interview.
When David POURED the last dab.... I got physically ill.... LORD that was a baller move!!! David Chang is a culinary god!!!! Great episode!!!
He might actually be *the* legend of the show. He drowned that last wing in the sauce and could still manage to talk!
Literally drowned it bro!
Dax is a legend too
I can't imagine what that level of hot sauce would do to a brain, so the fact that, after all of that, he was able to get four of the five mother sauces is clearly the sign of a superior being.
I dunno, Lord made almost everyone look like pansies, she was pretty champ about the whole lineup
@@Nickwhit20 Dax did this?! When? How did I miss that?!
I’m obsessed with Dave Chang. Literally any time he goes on a rant about something I’m like “welp I guess that’s my opinion now, too”
David Chang is a fuckin gangster. He's out his damn mind about pumpkin pie but... respect on that last dab.
I like pumpkin pie. (Starbucks has oversaturated things, not pumpkin's fault.)
Gourds are fine, wtf David Chang??!
Gourds: squash , watermelon , pumpkin , kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) I could eat every week.
@@VideoNozoki Butternut squash is one of the greatest veggies ever discovered.
"I'm probably going to sweat more than anybody has ever sweated on your show before."
*Joey Diaz enters the conversation*
Joey immediately popped into my head aswell when he said that! xD
He always has been a sweater. I will never forget him on Getting Doug With High. Looked like he was in a sauna.
Joey is still the heat sweat king
Sean looks like he's about to perform Last Rites. Is this season's lineup that deadly?
as someone who has experienced most of those sauces including da bomb and the last dab apollo let me assure you the last 3 in that lineup are legit super-hot sauces not made for the faint of heart, mouth, stomach or b-hole... one small drop of apollo alone is enough to put my whole mouth on fire as if i have a mouth full of molten lava for about 5 or so minutes and i consider myself to have a pretty high capsicum tolerance i.e.
I just commented the last rites thing before I looked at comments. 😂 That's exactly what this jacket reminds me of.
The Last Dab.
David Chang was already my favorite current chef... He has moved into my Top 2 all time, with his assessment of Pumpkin Pie, and pumpkin in general.
The most shocking part of this episode is where Sean says he eats wings outside the show.
Why is Sean dressed like a priest in a jogging suit
Haha. I was thinking distinguished professor at a graduation ceremony.
My exact thoughts, looks like he's ready for a quick 5k before baptisms
cant unsee it but goddamn that made me laugh
And he is pulling it off!
Reverend Spice!
Mad respect to David for this incredible authentic, highly sauced episode.
BTW, you're wrong (but excused) mornay is NOT one of the 5 mother sauces. You missed Veloute.
Huge David Chang fan. Ugly Delicious is in my top 5 Netflix shows and he’s made plenty more worth watching/listening to.
He's fantastic! He won millionaire and I couldn't have been happier for him.
Really enjoy David in an "I do not think he is lovable, but he is definitely someone worth listening to" Ugly Delicious is just fantastic.
You should have chef Roy Choi next!
Yes! And Roy Choi would be great to see!
Also Kenji Alt would be great
I love Dave Chang, I appreciated so much that he read the ingredients for each sauce - probably a true chef move
Such a cool episode. Great interview and great guest. Food brings us together and lifts us up. Thanks to everyone that makes this show happen!
I would love to see Jon favreau come on, his journey with marvel but also his cooking/foodie side
I audibly shouted “nooooooo” when David started dumping on the Last Dab. Holy smokes dude.
I wish they could have had Anthony Bourdain on. That would have been legendary.
I miss him so much. He would have been a blast to watch on this show. I think David Chang is as close as we’ll get. He’s got the same energy and sarcastic wit. David has smashed this episode! It was fantastic to watch.
You made me cry and laugh at the same time. I miss him so much.
That brought a tear to me eyes, He was such a bad ass I loved his personification but I did not know the man
@@MrYatesj1 he showed us who he was through his shows. His friends have said after his passing that what you saw was Tony. He was warmer to friends, but other than that he was himself onscreen. I would have loved to have sat and shared a meal with him. The table and chairs he sat with President Obama are hung on the wall in that tiny restaurant in Vietnam. I suppose that’s the closest I’ll get.
One of the nicest guests you’ve had on the show, a real pleasure to listen to.
this guy legit is taste-testing these hot sauces, how can you NOT like this?! :D I dont understand why I like this channel so much :D watching people deal with hot sauces while being asked legit very GOOD questions is so satisfying. who knew?!?!? :D Great stuff man.
The taste-testing part is why I look forward to food personalities appearing on Hot Ones; they always have a lot to say.
As someone part of the food industry, conversations about the reality of food has to happen more! David Chang is one of the best if not the best person who can represent us in the most realistic way
Dave Chang is one of my all time favorite "food personalities". Ugly Delicious was a brilliant show.
If you havent seen The Next Thing you Eat yet, give it a try!
@@Harkenize I want to, but don't have Hulu.
@@Harkenize added to my watch list.. haven't seen that on there yet
mind of a chef season one is unbeatable. that was my intro to him, and i have loved him ever since ❤️
