Is there a reason you for the SCT Max 10 and not the regular Max 10? Just curious. I am looking at buying a Rally and getting the same brushless set up.
I'm new to all this rc stuff but I have a fiesta st rally what battery would be an upgrade from stock and work with my 2-amp NiMH peak detecting AC charger
Sorry dude not much NiMH battery upgrades the only thing I could think of is getting a venom 7cell nimh with more mAh. If you can I would definitely recommend getting a lipo charger and a 2s lipo. Hope this helps 👍
Upgrade to the aluminum ce ter driveshaft! They're super cheap for either traxxas or STRC. The stock shaft is terrible and noisy on anything over the stock 12t
I would go with the Max10 from hobby wing (the one shown in the video.) It fits in with no modification and is only $130 on Amazon. Which is actually cheaper than the traxxas brushless system found in the vxl models.

That extra esc wire is a temperature sensor wire that goes into the motor.

A bit late, but was the Hobbywing pinion 32P and the stock spur is 48P? Basically the mismatch in pitch caused your spur to get chewed up.

You need to change the gears pitch to at least 32p or Mod0.8 The stock 48p will get shredded on any system upgrade Especially 4s!!! Good Luck 👍

All the venom battery would do is increase runtime not power

How fast is it after upgraded and how long can run?
With the stock gearing it should do around 40-45mph, I would say runtime (6000 mAh 4s) is around 30-45mins depending on how hard you run it.
