I mean. they will know usually anyways, because unless he only has one land out, hes gonna cast it. Even at worse its 2 mana draw a card and you may play an additional land.
Marco Giovanni >Subs to black pidgeon speaks >Bitches about dictatorships, racism, homophobia, etc Nice going ya doofus, you have cognitive dissonance. Also cuba is undoubtly better than it would ever be with batista and his cronies.
Against the tron player, when you've exhaustioned them and are taking extra turns, it's actually better to fate seal yourself with Jace. Their draws don't really matter and it helps ensure that you keep hitting good cards.
on the last turns of the final game, you could have thing in the ice, snap+exhaustion, serum visions (8 mana, you had 8 mana). Then they need to peel exactly red mana for bolt (which we might have known they had, I wasn't paying attention to their bob flips). Then next turn you get two draws and you have 2 counters on your thing which makes flipping somewhat easy, and flipping means you get to replay your snap.
I've seen people make the argument that white border lands are easier to find when fetching in paper Magic, seems like you're taking it next level here. Taking Turns is exactly my kind of deck, and watching you play it makes me feel like a bad person for knowing that.
at 1:02:20 your cryptic should tap team and bounce the ravine, even if the didnt have bolt or brutality they could animate raging ravine after cryptic resolves
It is kind of hard to put someone on two copies from a single serum vision scry though. And they are Goryo deck so probably care about their own graveyard.
At 1:02:20 if they casted Collective Brutality couldn't you have used Tap all creatures and Counter spell? Cryptic Command doesn't necessarily have to be used to draw a card.
You can't preemptively counter spells. If they attack first, you have to tap the team to not die in combat, but then second main they kill you with spells.
8:14 missing a jace activation to give your opponent a break? edit: then you cast a new jace, so yeah. pretending your opponent killed him. good guy lsv
last turn of the game he needed to bounce the raging ravine along with tapping the team or ravine could activate to kill him. didn't matter away bc he had bolt but still.
TheDeckinator pretty sure it reads, "If it is your turn, end your turn". I really don't like days undoing in these decks. For sure not in any non As foretold lists.
TheDeckinator please explain why Days undoing on your opponents turn is so great? Because you can pseudo counter and refill your hand? Considering it costs UU11 between 2 cards, it sounds pretty meh. What other cards benefit from having quicken in the deck? Visions ? Exhaustion? Also meh. Not worth losing slots in the 60 imo.
Go to some pptqs and watch some coverage, you will find that many tron players play their decks terribly. It's just hard to notice because sometimes they make a ton of mistakes and still win.
Any thought to playing dictate of kruphix over howeling mine? I know 3 vs 2 mana is huge, but howeling mine just seems bad right now with all the kolaghan's commands running around
Actually, you could cast Time Warp with an As Foretold off of Snapcaster because it doesn’t care where you cast the spell from, just if it meets the CMC to counters on As Foretold Edit: Turns out, alternative costs can’t pay for alternative costs. Oops!
It doesn't care where you are casting it from, but it does care that it is allowing you to cast the spell using an alternative cost. Snapcaster is also giving the card in the graveyard a way to cast it using an alternative cost (flashback) and you can only use one method for casting the spell. This means you can't use As Foretold to cast a flashback spell since that would be combining two different alternative costs.
Seriously so many miss plays game one exhaustion against Delver game one is freaking hilarious because it Taps down lands and creatures and it doesn't care how they got tapped its essentially a time walk in almost all circumstances
Ancestral, As Foretold and mono Jace plan feels like a trap. Classic U/UW/UB running gigadrowses, dictates and part the waterveil is much more consistent.
To the uninformed its looks like the deck is boring as hell... but it takes alot of skill to pilot it that good like luis here! this deck is SO blue lol
"I'm gonna treat this Jace as dead to the Delver"

Those islands....
CaptainSauce Gorgeous, aren't they? You can see the love that went into curating the best of the best from throughout Magic's history.
At 35:15 ish - you could've played an As Foretold through one As Foretold with the three counters, then play Ancestral Vision through the new one.
I love how this deck went from looking like hot garbage to a somewhat resilient, if not consistent, combo deck. All because of a 4 mana brainstorm.
Should always have a stop on your draw step when playing this. If you don't, they will know when you draw temporal
I mean. they will know usually anyways, because unless he only has one land out, hes gonna cast it. Even at worse its 2 mana draw a card and you may play an additional land.
'Close match, I was Exhausted after the first one'
He can't keep getting away with this!
I cannot wait to see LSV upload a video with the updated list!
Good guy lsv
You and SaffronOlive know what good magic is all about!
Maybe SaffronOlive will see this video and learn how to pronounce Mikokoro.
Blue cards. Good magic is all about blue cards.
Keith, one can hope.
We need LSV to guest star on Commander Clash at some point. I feel like the two of them could be very entertaining together.
Magic really need more players like you, LSV
AlexGidra If he was playing purely to win he would give no quarter. Nice racist, homophobic, murderous, and country-destroying dictator pic btw.
WHAT is going on here.
Everything needs more people like LSV. He is a national treasure.
Who keep a 2 land hand with no spells to cast? Or who are so freaking lucky they draw Azcanta on that hand?

You're a good dude LSV. Even more respect than you than before.
"You showed up at the wrong time, Temporal Mastery"
Magic as Richard Garfield intended
Seth just played this deck last week lol anyway I love have you explain how the deck works.
wtf why has the Marsh Flats at 11:16 for one frame an Emrakul picture?
Mise its a moto-bug thats been showing up.
Same at 51:32
I don’t play modern neither have much interest in the format but I just love LSV !!

You're forgetting about the nihil spellbomb, opponent could crack that in response to snapcaster
Great vid! The only thing is I could hear every time you swallowed your spit...
Please play this deck again it was awesome! :D
Watching your forst match I was about to ask what the win con of your deck was... then I watched match 2 - I love this deck!
7:20 Your opponent definitely did not say "mess" up
LSV is a class act. Bravo!
40:45 - "We can't win this game no matter what decisions we make" at this point might be the most LSV claim to ever LSV.
I've seen people make the argument that white border lands are easier to find when fetching in paper Magic, seems like you're taking it next level here.
Taking Turns is exactly my kind of deck, and watching you play it makes me feel like a bad person for knowing that.
Confirmed: LSV is the Tom Hanks of Magic :)
Such a nice guy, his opponent misclicked but he will treat Jace as Dead. Awesome!
That first round opponent ran SUPER well.
at 1:02:20 your cryptic should tap team and bounce the ravine, even if the didnt have bolt or brutality they could animate raging ravine after cryptic resolves
Ctrl-Z learned.
Your out at 57:30 was the 3 copies of terminus you left in the sideboard I think.
LSV true magic pro. Insanely good player and a very good sport.
Hola luiis
Nice attitude, man.
I do feel like this deck needs to fit another playset of extra turn spells somehow, maybe trimming a search, two opts, and a cryptic for it
Hey LSV, why not run Dictate of Kruphix opposed to Howling Mine? It has flash so no tapping on your turn and you get benefit first.
Fun and interactive magic
Ugh, when your opponent let you Jace the miracle to the top and Thought Scour'd himself without thinking...
Yeah, that was silently painful
Well, they countered both instances so maybe that was their plan?
The other guy, who whiffed with Inquisition and saw two of them, was the one that hurt me.
It is kind of hard to put someone on two copies from a single serum vision scry though. And they are Goryo deck so probably care about their own graveyard.
not doing snapcaster exhaustion at the end of the jund match was kind of crazy imo
It's definitely a mistake to not play Dictate of Kruphix in this deck.
What's the cut?
Dictate also doesn't die to Kolaghan's Command, which is pretty relevant considering how many jund and grixis decks are running around.
Maybe try to fit in a one of dragonlord ojutai in the mainboard? Maybe take out an exhaustion or days undoing or opt?
The little giggles when you time warped about 7 different times greatly amused me. I knew there was a little troll in you.
"you showed up at the wrong time, Temporal Mastery!"
TheK3vin I feel like I’m always reading comments like this at the same time they say it lol
8:14 missing a jace activation to give your opponent a break?
edit: then you cast a new jace, so yeah. pretending your opponent killed him. good guy lsv
I usually skip through dead space with the arrow keys. Missed it for that reason.Probably made myself look kinda dumb in this case.
You 2 just gave me hope for MTG players in general.
37:45 thanks for the lesson lsv
LETS DO THE TIMEWARP AGAIN
At 29:39 or so, why Temporal Mastery instead of Jace + Exhaustion against a completely tapped out opponent?
Temporal trespass is also great
last turn of the game he needed to bounce the raging ravine along with tapping the team or ravine could activate to kill him. didn't matter away bc he had bolt but still.
Tooo funny ! All da turns!!!
I did not know you could undo scrys
where in the vid ?
Jmy mcl 37:45
Any idea on how to play against burn with this deck? Or hollow one? seems unwinable kinda
I like the as foretolds but I run 4 dictates of crufix and a howling mine. .. with thassa god of the sea and part the waterveil for win cons.
White-bordered Howling Mines? White-bordered basics, even?!?!
Birds of Paradise mtgo avatar???
at 29:40 why is hard casting the temporal mastery at 7 mana better than Jace to brainstorm putting back temporal mastery and casting exhaustion?
He had a plan earlier to play it and it would effectively end the game so I guess he didn't see much reason to change from that.
11:16 did anyone else notice that the marsh flats trigger looked like an emrakul?
does anyone know what the esper list the first deck he played against?
I’m somewhat noob to Modern. What’s this decks win con? Is it just Snapcaster?
GOOD GUY LSV WOW
How about playing Quicken so you could play Day's Undoing on their turn? Seems sweet.
TheDeckinator pretty sure it reads, "If it is your turn, end your turn". I really don't like days undoing in these decks. For sure not in any non As foretold lists.
Well yeah, that's why you play it. Because, you know, it doesn't end your turn during the other player's turn.
Umm, you don't have to end your turn prematurely? You can play it at the end of your opponent's turn and you get to untap first?
Can you try to do a New versión of this ?
How does opponent not thought scour LSV at 7:05 ?
LSV is /ourguy/
So you can cast multiple spells that allow you to take an extra turn and they stack?
solotopp Yup.
51:00 LET’S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!
Why not snapcaster time warp on that last turn?
that Tron player will win the pro tour next.
I didn't think you could be bad at Tron... Like wtf...
Go to some pptqs and watch some coverage, you will find that many tron players play their decks terribly. It's just hard to notice because sometimes they make a ton of mistakes and still win.
Game 1, why wouldn't you neg 1 Jace, THEN play the other Jace, then +2? Did I miss a thing where you can't do that any more?
He was treating the jace as dead to the delver to be a nice guy. Opponent misclicked through their attack step.
sGoobTube ahhhh, I misunderstood the nice guy thing. My bad.
If this wasn't MTGO, I would be suspicious of that round 1 opponent. He had"it" every single turn in games 2 and 3.
no reliquary tower?
why no search the city
Im still living with the fact that LSV is a much better player than me, but i think that keeping that awful opening hand m1g3 was a mistake.
What is the win condition of this deck ? Am I dumb ? Can't see it...
Emrah Ekinci Jace or Snapcaster beatdown.
Lol I love that deck I got it in paper lol
About shits pants ant the sight of emrakul at 51:31
Did anyone see emrakul 51: 32 ?
What’s the win condition of this deck? Is it Jace?
Max Waterson Jace or snap caster beats.
LSV getting trolled by the user friendly interface of MTGO by getting tricked into believing they drew two inquisitions from confidants.
Any thought to playing dictate of kruphix over howeling mine? I know 3 vs 2 mana is huge, but howeling mine just seems bad right now with all the kolaghan's commands running around
How quaint is this video in retrospect? Oh, taking a non-infinite amount of turns, pedestrian.
Would elixir of immortality be good in this deck so you don’t deck
Irewolf that's sort of what days undoing is in there for. As it's a draw 7 that refills your deck.
Expedition map vs LSV
as fortold really goes well with expensive take extra turns spells. Yeesh.
lantern is dead... huh?
what happens if they don't concede?
Lasse Raatz you kill them with snapcasters or jace ultimate
so you die to any blocker + needle on jace?
Lasse Raatz cryptic command answers these things
ah, makes sense :)
You attack with snapcaster or ult jace
WHITE BORDERS
Actually, you could cast Time Warp with an As Foretold off of Snapcaster because it doesn’t care where you cast the spell from, just if it meets the CMC to counters on As Foretold

This means you can't use As Foretold to cast a flashback spell since that would be combining two different alternative costs.
Willd That actually didn’t occur to me. Thanks for the clarification
Look at all these Jaces LSV keeps drawing lmao! I swear if he had 1 jace in his deck he would draw 2 by turn 4.
Why doesnt this deck run Colonnade?
TheSilent006 it has plenty of ways to win the game and is punished by a tapland pretty hard
if you want a manland, inkmoth would be better but lacks the color
Watching this makes me physically ill.
LSV play a troll deck? Never.
Seriously so many miss plays game one exhaustion against Delver game one is freaking hilarious because it Taps down lands and creatures and it doesn't care how they got tapped its essentially a time walk in almost all circumstances
play treasure map!
One of these days he IS going to lie and none of us will have seen it coming.
Ancestral, As Foretold and mono Jace plan feels like a trap. Classic U/UW/UB running gigadrowses, dictates and part the waterveil is much more consistent.
*Looks at deck tech* only win con 3 snappys 2 jace? Okay I guess you are just planning to bore the OP into concession...
To the uninformed its looks like the deck is boring as hell... but it takes alot of skill to pilot it that good like luis here! this deck is SO blue lol
Why are ppl playing 1 mana 1/1s in modern?
