- I am back attempting to cycle from Braemar to Aviemore after last year's difficult route. I have unfinished business here, so will this route be any better?

Absolutely great day rusty oh to be 30 again
Great video... Thanks 👍
Ha! This route is a lot more "gravel friendly". I like the drone shots. Shame the weather didn't allow you to do some more.
You're an inspiration Rusty! There's a bridge over the Nethy just north of where you waded near Forest Lodge. Looking to emulate route variation in Spring. 👍
Ah that's good to know about that bridge 👍
Thanks for the great video. Any chance you could make the Komoot tour public?
Done sorry. They seemed to have gone private for some reason
Great ride, great content ,well filmed and cut . Thanks for the inspiration.
Great video, just discovered it. Had planned on doing this as part of a longer route going clockwise. I was worried the route through Eag Mhor was a no go as there is no path on OS maps on the western approach through the woods. Nice to know its passable. Hopefully the weather will be kind when I go up. Keep up the good work.
Glad it was helpful!
The map marked track by the Burn o' Brown doesn't really exist, the track on the ground is mostly on the west side and crosses the burn multiple times. The burn does flood quite badly.
Your final route to try is the Geldie-Feshie watershed but it's much better after a dry spell. Again, check out the Cairngorm Loop for the route.
I think the weather is key for riding about the area. I did the road route last year and it was blazing sun in Alvie when I left by the time I got to Tomintoul it was torrential rain and on top of the Lecht 40 mph wind ended turning back into a headwind all the way back so I can imagine that route on a bad day.
Don’t you just love when someone says good luck lol. A bit like when a local says it’s flat! ….they lie lol.
Check out the Cairngorms Loop for route ideas.
Great video, looking at riding this next weekend on a bikepacking trip- I cant view the route in your link though it says set to private 🧐
This is EXACTLY the route I route many years ago. Did it as a multi day trip from Aviemore vie the Lairig Ghru, and we stayed in Tomintoul. Brought back some amazing memories, thank you.
Really enjoyed this one Rusty 👍 Actually sitting here on a rather dreach saturday in October watching this and planning to do this route on my enduro bike...we shall see.....😄
Great video looked like a great route
Thanks Rusty Loved your video
See! I said it was better.. I have to say it’s a bit more overgrown through the Dorback section from when I did it back in the 1980’s.
It's a lovely route indeed!
fantastic route, well done
Great video. I appreciate that Gaelic place-names can be tricky for non-natives, but dont be daunted. Give it a go next time.😊
Hi, just watched your film. Great inspiration! I’m planning a “bike packing Scotland” next summer and want to do this route as part of the trip. It appears the Komoot route in your link is private. Would love to get access. Thanks
Should be fixed now sorry.
Had to turn off , posh English accents in the hills give me the boak.
Haha I have never been described as posh. Thanks I guess.
The best laid plans o’ mice, and men, gang aft a-gley…. Keep working on the Gaelic, lol -it’s said ‘bulg’ like bulge, but with a hard ‘g’, like rag. The ‘i’ in Builg is like the p in both ptarmigan and swimming -silent 😂👍🏻
@@freeforester1717 In the LearnGaelic dictionary online it's pronounced "boolaik".
@@janistait8671 there’s a world o’ difference atween West coast Gaelic an’ East o’ the Spey 😊
