Elites are just humans like us. They need to feel 'above us simple creatures', be 'more special'. They need to waist all those $£¥₩ to satisfy their needs.
Absolutely crazy leaving a place like that with plenty of history and alot of buildings just to rot it's a massive site with land next to the sea and it's been abandoned for years must be still worth alot of money bet it gets developed at some point great explore again guys 😅
One of the most beautiful buildings you have explored. I don't normally like empty building explores so much as ones with lots of stuff inside, but this was an exception. And Ed is always quite knowledgeable about things, unlike some explorers who haven't got a clue!
This ancient place needs to be preserved for historical purposes. It's beautiful and sad all at the same time. A lot of the architecture is remarkable. Loved the skylight, and all of the beautiful rooms, the view out of the windows, and all of the mirrors. The story of the blue lady and her dog is interesting. This was a wonderfull tour, guys. Thank you. ❤❤
My Monday morning treat. I cannot believe such a fabulous place is left to rot. Its magnificent and criminal to leave. Thank you the three muskateers for highlighting such a wonderful place. Love you. Sue xx
At least 3 times I saw a eerie creepy figure at the dark end of a passage, only to see either Neddy or eddy appear ,thanks lads you owe me a new pair of scants ,lol .But once again the 3 amigos hit the bullseye with another fantastic episode ,well done
I know where this is as I was born on the Island. There is a ghost book that explains the haunting and how it is linked to the stuffed dog and it’s owner 😮
I'd stay there a night in summer; tent in an exterior barn or maybe in a room without mould. There is water so let it run a while and you can have a wash.
Beautiful building and I agree with Ed in reference to the dwellings just left when there are homeless people and also a housing crisis. It’s criminal it really is and the hotel a beautiful building which carries so much history being left. Thanks once again for another amazing explore kudos to Alex, Ed and Ned xx
Really enjoy all your explores, made me laugh when Ed was behind the bar and you were asking for drinks :) Thank you guys, so enjoyable to watch and listen to. Look forward to the next . Hugs xxx
Thank you so much to the people that filmed this. I used to work here in 1975 to 1980, season work 6 mths at a time, doing the gardening. I could cry. Oh the murel in the lounge at 23 mins. Used to be covered up with wall paper. It was only found because Mr & Mrs Lee the manages decided to strip it and found the mural. It was touched up by a lady from London.
What amazing place so beautiful Alex you have the rate the bathrooms all the time as me and my daughter and her boyfriend we say to each other what you might rate it and then you don’t lol 😂 it’s such a shame so beautiful and that window above the fire place wow thank you Alex edd & Ned I loved it x
As large and grand as this place is, i find the smaller farmhouses far more personal and interesting. The moth you saw near the grand entrance, Scarlet Tiger Moth. The large Dovecote, also known as a Culverhouse, that structure is probably medieval.
This was an absolutely fantastic explore I thoroughly enjoyed it 💯🔥... the hotel was so tranquil and something quite special seeing the ivy growing through the windows! Did you wonder down to the beech (cove) as it looks equally as breath taking?! A couple of things,, I keep hearing you say your put a link to pompeye's channel yet I've never managed to find his?? And also as a recent subscriber who resides in Fareham I took interest in your portsdown hill adventures and left some knowledge of my own for you (I think on part 4) just incase you didn't get a notification and if it's of any use.. keep doing what your doing guys it's top notch binge watching 👊👍
Thank you very much for the support and kind words. Pompeyes channel can be found here, although he doesn't really post anything these days. Also I will check out part 4 of the portsdowm explore and get back to you. Portsdown Hill was where this all started for us, such a cool place with so much history and secrets!
@VacantHaven no problem your channel is a joy to watch, by far the best urbex!! How mad is this.. i told my mate Dave to get on your channel and sent some links as he's into all the same stuff as me.. turns out he knew you straight away from working at c4 around 2007.. his name is Dave chapman.. small world 🌎 🤯👍
The room with the large walled, paintings I wished you guys would do panoramic 360 degree photos, made available online. Allow the viewers, to tour what you snap. Best video yet
This was a good one looks like it was a really nice place. Was that the family dog. PLEASE don’t stop doing this hope there’s many more vacant haven places.❤❤❤😊😊😊
Those star shaped things at 7:06 on the barbed wire are to tension the barbed wire as it get stretched out you turn them star shaped bits round with a tool like a mini version of a starting handle and as it turns it it can’t release the tension as it’s ratcheted tight. I hope that makes sense.😊 I must say you’ve gone and done it again you’ve topped last week’s episode yet again I don’t know how you did it but this was epic and you cannot top it next week surely but knowing you 3 you will but i don’t know how. Many many thanks as I’ve said before you’re doing what I’d love to do but can’t as the wheelchair gets in the way of even getting to these places and would make getting around impossible so I’m quite happy to go round them through your eyes so yet again thank you very much. 😊😊😊😊😊
Top notch explore again guys, it's certainly a different looking place from the outside. The tower looked really interesting and the weights did look a bit excessive. Keep up the great work its much appreciated 👍 cheers.
I’ve been a fan of urban exploration for years. I just discovered your channel and I’m thrilled. You guys are fearless! I love Ed popping from odd places. ❤
The best feature in the building is the window in the fireplace. This must have been a fabulous place back in it's day. May the owner will restore to it's original beauty and update it in places like the kitchen, the nasty linen/wine room and the offices. Then put it back in use. However, many wealthy people in Russia have had their funds frozen so they may not be able to work on the property at this time.
The building that you said was for pigeons is actually to house doves and is called a dove cote. Great video had me laughing, you have such a laugh. Thanks Ed, Ned and Alex.
What a beautiful place would be fantastic if it could be saved and reopened awesome vid guys thanks. I really hope this place does not get vandalized. Like outers I have seen on TH-cam.
What a place really enjoyed watching I did find it really creepy the stuffed dog didn’t help but a great explore guys thank you for another great video I look forward to the next one have a great week guys ❤😊
That place was fantastic , just had to be haunted , that's why its in good condition . For the number of years its been empty and all the windows still with glass , a total absence of graffiti or vandalism its looked after by something . So many beautiful features to catch the eye , the room of murals and full wall to ceiling mirrors , that one fireplace with wood carvings like you might find in a castle and on one of the other buildings the surround for the entrance was an eye opener . Thank you Alex , Ned , Eddy for a special Sunday outing , I'll be thinking about it all week . Take care , God Bless , Stuart in Canada ..
Amazing building , loved the painted wall room, and the map of isle of Wight and also the tower, its a shame that it has been left empty but a brill explore guys 😊❤xxx
Great as always guys!! You did pick up, I believe, a few EVPs while exploring…around 28 minute mark (a scream, maybe) and 34:05 mark (a woman talking). Very cool!!!
Great video. I live close by this place. It’s a terrible shame it is falling into decay. I remember the meals I had there and fun times in that bar. The fire place window was always super cool with the fire roaring below. Sadly you did not feature the brass statue of Winston Churchill on a bench below that wall with all the ivy. Maybe it has been stolen or removed it was life size. The ghost stories are also correct. Interesting to see this place now. Sad though. Tks
Awesome explore guys, such a shame when historic places are left to decay. George Fisher Baker was supposedly the 3rd richest guy in America after Henry Ford and J D Rockerfeller
Hi guys. That was an epic video. The way the vine was framing the windows was absolutely beautiful. I read some info about the current owners of the property. Absolute disgrace to let that property get like that. Also interesting info on Wikipedia about George Fisher Baker, the gentleman named on the plaque around 2.46. It was certainly a real rabbit warren of a place. I bet those two big bathrooms were quite cold in winter.
This is one of my favorite explores and I return to it with frequency. Evelyn St. George was a NY socialite who had a long running romance with the Irish painter William Orpen. His portrait of her is famous.
Pompie must be one of the clumsiest of people, I am always waiting for him to trip over something, he knows a lot about antiques and history! A great explore again!
I used to live here as a baby in late 70s/early 80s. My nan and grandad managed the place and my parents worked and lived there. They uncovered the mural in the dining room when decorating and it was restored. Guests would complain of being woken by a dog licking their face. The only dog at the property was in the glass case. There was a swimming pool somewhere outside ..... so sad that its gone to ruin now
How are these places just left to rot, it's bloody criminal 😢
Either bankruptcy and no cash to repair or tax relief !!
Too high inheritance tax! 😡

Love it when Ned is there. As always, great video😊
What a wonderful building. It's a shame that these rooms remain unused. Cheers and Chapeaux to Alex, Ed and Ned
The stuffed dogs head moved into a different position while being filmed
It wasn't seen moving but it changed position
No one else noticed ?

Sounded like a dog bark to me
The only Channel I watch week after week. Awesome Gents!
I like the way Ed always has to be first either thru a door or up stairs, couple times I saw him push past Ned just to be first
@@shaunwatson2074 Ed should be muzzled aswell 🤣

thx guys for another great explore :) and that window...in the middle of the chimney, omg! beautiful!!!
This place is still beautiful in its own natural way. Shame to see it waste away.
Another great explore, the filming from Alex is excellent.
