Excellent video on Rhyl. You should send copies of this video to Wales TV , BBC & Rhyl Town Council & disgrace them into smarten up their town especially the cemetery. That is an absolute disgrace considering their are WW1 heroes I there. Well done Adam Mark. Keep up the good work.

Just wanted to say I live in Rhyl and I have done my whole life and most of what you said is true, the council round here is shocking they only want their money from the job they aren’t bothered about fixing things.
As for crime rate a lot of people seem to think tourists are at danger but you aren’t, think of it this way if you visited a volcanic island for 1 day you’ll probably be fine but if you lived there your whole life it’s way more likely you’ll be hit by a lava stream if you get what I’m saying, I was jumped literally a month ago walking back with my family from a birthday party, I didn’t know the guys they seen me drunk stumbling home and falling over so they took the mick out of me and my girlfriend said something to them to leave me alone so they attacked her I jumped in and they pulled weapons and whacked me in the head, I’m fine now tho but the crime that happens here happens way more to the locals so take that as you will.
And one final thing is that we are full of drunks and drugs from county line’s dealing and it’s a known fact that sex offenders/nonces from England and south wales get sent here for some reason (probably to hide or protect them) I will never understand it disgusts me knowing that they do tho
Anyways good video I just thought I would give people an actual resident’s opinion

Thank you for sharing. I love Wales and sad to see this area being mismanaged. What is the main source of income there? Looks like tourism is not really a big draw. Crime etc seems to happen where there isn’t much to do. It’s a beautiful sea side area I hope it will seen have a resurgence of tourism and the economy will rebound.

    • @nhome-x5g
      @nhome-x5g 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@ that’s the thing from what I have heard (I’m in my 20’s) tourism was great for a while and definitely the main source of income around here
then it became really easy and fairly cheap to travel the world so small towns like Rhyl couldn’t compete with that meaning less people were coming so less money, Less money means less being put back into the community and that means less opportunity for us locals, you see this in plenty of places like Rhyl around the uk and I think the mismanagement goes way beyond a small town in north wales. But I’m not qualified in anything to be fair so what would I know lol
I do think having a positive look on things is needed for a lot of us tho because being negative about the negative will get us no where, but it is important to talk about the negatives not ignore them

Absolutely agree Adam, Once they shut the big fair on the promenade, replacing it with Aldi, the town died.
I was brought up in Llandudno and used to love to get on a bus to the fair in Rhyl.
That was the year Rhyl died.
And I was shocked to find they spent 17 million on a bridge to nowhere.
They need to wake up and spend money where it's needed.

Wow!! Fun to see you and Matt do something different, Adam!! I’m in the US so for me it is really interesting to see towns in other countries. I thought it was curious that the crime rate was reported as so high yet you were able to walk all over during the day and night with no problem. We have very similar issues in many towns and cities here is the US- housing shortages, abandoned businesses, high crime rates, widespread drug use problems, etc. As long as greed runs the shows these days, problems will get worse, more widespread decay will continue and desperation will get worse. I enjoyed watching this, thank you!!

Woah! This is a different type of video from you Adam. I like it and hope you do more. I have to say, it looks pretty grim! The council should be ashamed of themselves for letting it get so run down but spending a ridiculous amount of money on a bridge! So many councils are like it. Always pleading poverty but find enough for their bonuses and expenses of course, not to mention making stupid decisions on where to spend our money. It’s the same where I live. The local council have just spent over three million on replacing footpaths in the town centre, even though there was nothing wrong with them and most of the shops have closed down 🤪

I think that this is a great new direction--not just exploring, but revealing the corruption that leads to abandoned places and towns in the first place. Or the incompetence, or the greed--because every abandoned place has a story, and some of those stories really need to be told. Maybe with more videos like this one, you might raise awareness enough to reduce the number of dead downtowns and economic wastelands. Really well done. Thank you.

The last show I played as a bass player in a band back in 2006 was in Rhyl. I found the town depressing and it seemed to serve as a relief to the events that unfolded-The friendly nod of acknowledgement earlier in the day from one Motorhead shirt clad fan to our similarly dressed singer did nothing to improve the proceedings.
The venue took ages turning off the background music as we began our set; the merchandise stall was left to die on the vine by the meagre audience, and the singer didn't endear himself to the venue's management by using the C word repeatedly.
On the drive on the way back, the singer seemed depressed, even suicidal, this was backed up by a comment from the guitarist (now a pilot in the middle east)
The predictable email was received by all of us a few days later, informing us the band had been dissolved.

Adam this was a cracking vid. I am so gutted to see Rhyl this way, I used to holiday there every year with my nan and grandad in the 90s..it was buzzing! I have such fond memories, and can still remember the excitement of going on holiday there, going to the fair , playing the arcades, fish and chips on the seafront.. such a wonderful atmosphere. I was gob smacked watching this video just how run down it's become and to see yet again councillors and government wasting millions of tax payers money on pointless sh*t whilst we are in a cost of living/housing crisis..just shows how corrupt this whole world really is.well done for highlighting it all. So sad that a cemetery has been left like that, no respect even for those who sacrificed their lives for us.But what a great interesting video. Brilliant, Adam. I really enjoyed this new type of explore and would love to see more. As for the council, I'd be willing to bet at least one of them got a kickback on that bridge. What a ridiculous waste of money.

So sad, I used to live at Rhyl, well at an army camp situated at Bodelweddan where my Dad was posted to. Rhyl used to be a busy, bustling place, full of kiss me quick hats and a lovely fairground. With wonderful golden sands on the beaches. My how times have changed and not for the better. You've broken my heart!

Brilliant video i really enjoyed it. Something different. That bridge is absolutely stupid and the graveyard a shame. Typical town or city around the uk 🇬🇧 these days. Thankyou for the video

So sad to see it like this. I used to stay in my Nain’s in Rhuddlan every school holidays growing up and spent lots of time in the Sun centre, arcades and funfair. I also lived there for a couple of years in my early 20s and it was buzzing. Such a shame to see the decline 😢

    I'm commenting
halfway through, or I'll forget. 😅
So Adam, what's going on? Is it the big box stores (Walmart in USA), or is the city moving away, & these places are turning to ghost towns?
Wonderfully presented, & what a great clap back at the "Council" for failing the cemetery, town, & Most importantly the people.!! And the awareness about moving the "condemned cabinets" to new flats!!?😮
I would've loved to see it back in its hey day!!
    ✌️💜🇺🇸
I'm back😂 @ 24:50 one of those little cars would blow off the hwy here in my part of Texas during our March winds. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Fantastic.... its the same all over the country, my village shopping area is mostly shuttered up... and theres only a post office doctors surgery a couple of chemist shops.... Our council purposely moved the co op off the main shopping area so that people would nt come there. So the butchers bakers and green grocers all closed down... so now people dont even walk around the corner to the new co op,,,,, they travel half a mile to the morrisons supermarket.... and when the shops all were there,,,,, we were always fighting traffic wardens... All Purposely done.... Oh we we a couple of nail bars lolllllll ........ Great video though . Thankyou

Such a shame. Great upload! Rhyl is beautiful and the amount of Manchester, Birmingham citizens holidaying here was so immense back in the day. It was an English haven. It would be lovely to get this beautiful Rhyl back to it's original Welsh culture. Beautiful place.

Absolutely loved this video!! Certainly would love to see more, highlight the issue of alot of towns within the UK. Its heartbreaking to see how the council really just does not care to keep such lovely locations in their former glory! Blackpool is definiately one of those, completely changed over the years!

That was a great video Adam really enjoyed it, it's a shame like you say all the councils at the sea side resorts are a waste of space they do piss all they live in luxury and we're surrounded by empty buildings and crap shopping centres, and homeless people on every corner, think Blackpools got to be the most neglected it's just pure poverty and has a massive drug problem it's so sad to see, when you can remember how good these places were back in the day, much love from Manchester 👌❤️
