@@bluehawk7 I never even knew he was totally gone until years after I started that first playthrough actually. I only stopped when my cart slot started to get faulty (Which, to be fair, was mostly because of how much I played the handheld in general.) and the cartridge itself barely worked and could crash with the slightest movement. I was totally convinced he was still around because of all the mentions of N NPCs had. I even remember one specific NPC in Icirrus City because of it.
@Idk What Part of me wishes I knew about the internet back then since it would've helped me navigate through a lot of tricky situations (Like how to get further into the Giant Chasm. What a nightmare that was.), but the other part just misses the quaint charm that came from playing with nothing but your own wits and a book to guide you through the game (Though mine was infinitely less helpful. The BW Pokedex book only really helped me learn which Pokemon I still needed to look for and keep track of which Pokemon I thought looked cool.)

There's a theory that Hilbert/Hilda joined the International Police after locating most of the Seven Sages with Looker in Black & White. And used finding N as a pretence and cover up as to why they are missing.
In the adventures BW manga isn't one of the protag's (forget which one, might be from the BW2 ones actually not sure) an actual member of the International police? If I'm remembering that right, this would draw a great parallel.

What sucks is the fact Hilbert/Hilda were intended to be in the game. They were meant to be the final boss like Red was in Gen 2 + looking at generations i seems they would have played a role in the story. Don't get me wrong B2W2 is the best but man if they had just added this to either the main game or via the memory links, it would have been perfection.
I just finished Black 2 like 4 months ago, and I was hoping they would be the final boss. I kept playing until my Pokemon could literally sweep the league. I hope they make a remake where Hilbert and Hilda are actually the final bosses.
Not that I have high hopes 😔

Their mother actually says something about them in B/W 2, when you walk into her house. I believe she thought the player was Hilbert/Hilda, and if they had found their old friend (N). This means that Hilbert/Hilda did in fact visit the mother

The thing is Pokémon have don’t cover lot of things in the story. There’s a lot of things going on in the incredible background that they give you hints too but nothing more
We would have to wait for not even a Unova remake, but a Unova let’s go game since the let’s go games are the ones that will let the player battle the protagonists.
Maybe they’re traveling to other regions like ash?

I just realized the reason the item in Hilda/Hilbert's room is a Kings Rock is probably because N is the ex-king of Team Plasma (Which aligns with the sort of decrepit appearance of the Kings Rock) and is arguably the most important person to them (Which is why it's the only thing they left behind, excluding what they had at the start of the first games.). Gamefreak knew exactly what they were doing by putting that there >:(

@@Splatomix I didn't even think of that! It would make sense though, since champions of regions are held in very high regard (Similar to kings.), and the crown being left behind would signify them stepping down from the position to let someone else take over.

And to this very day, Hilbert and Hilda are still the only playable characters in the main series games who actually have a valid reason for never appearing in a new game since they most likely still don't know N has already returned to Unova, so they're still looking for him.

In Pokémon Masters there’s some dialogue where they react to how Unova has changed in the 2 years time skip. One I remember was Hilbert was surprised that Iris was now the champion and states that he should rematch her sometime

N was such a nice guy. He had a great theme. He had a great personality. He was the only evil team leader who was not evil. I wish N was brought back in the main series games. Black and White had such a nice story. Every thing was well planned. They were the best games I ever played. I really hope that these games get remakes and explain everything and become very popular. Not a single Pokémon game had so much story to it.

But if you watched Pokémon Generations, Hilbert did return riding on Zekrom. As Reshiram got taken over Kyurem in order to fuse, as White Kyurem was wreaking havoc Hilbert and Zekrom showed up.

If you read the comics they get sucked into the ball that holds one of the dragons I don’t remember which but yeah they are inside the ball for 2 years until they are released during the events of black and white 2
I want to know about hilbert and hilda. Those dudes are in the middle of nowhere, and can't Reshiram (I consider black the more canon because of N's ideals are powerful than his truths) just go back to unova since it felt that kyurem was suffering.
Something is going on, maybe they were captured by the shadow triad after they tried to ambush Nate/Hilda in Icirrus City. IN hoping they bring back the original dragon in black and white 3 by taking zekrom from them and recapturing kyurem.

I guess the word "no" lacks of meaning in Pokemon world
There is also the possibility that Hilbert/Hilda are in johto. There is a reference in game that says he/she "disappeared by the ghost towers". In pokemon crystal the burned tower is known as the ghost tower. In that tower you find entei, suicune and raikou. They just most likely got distracted from finding N and went off searching legendary pokemon from other regions
On the last two dialogue, N says to Nate that he wants to meet that Trainer (Hilbert?) he battled and say thank you.
While as Rosa, N tells Rosa that he is searching for a Trainer (Hilda?) so he can tell her how he feels (about Hilda?).
Am I correct or is there's something I'm missing?

Dynamax is basically we’re you see high amounts of radiation from the stadiums that you start hallucinating. Fortunely, it does not affect the Pokémon and you see them to appear to be very strong because of the radiation.

They are on an island in game waiting for you to confront them. The island is available once you have seen All Unova’s Pokedex.

Gen 5 games storyline is the best form me. Its dark, exciting, and abit sad that they havent visited their mom for long time. Ghetsis was truly evil and taking him down was really satisfying.
Would have enjoyed to see them return in BW, hopefully in a BW3 we will finally see them return

Wait, how could u read "hilbert's house"? In the games I played it said only "house of... You cannot read", and N talks about you as "a trainer" but doesn't say "Hilbert". Why?
Let me answer your question. I dunno how exactly it works, but there's an option to connect your Black/White game to your Black/White 2 game, doing so, will make it so every time they mention the name of your character in the game, it will appear as the name you put to your character. In this case, Mixeli actually named his character "Hilbert" in his Black/White game, and that, would explain it.

Gen 5 is when Pokemon was at its peak.
It would have been amazing if you would've had a Red-like battle with Hilbert/Hilda and after the battle he/she tells you they're looking for N and so you tell him/her that you met him so you reunite them.
N is that type of character you would hate but really want to like due to how he liberates pokemon. He's just so chill unlike the 7 sages and the grunts. Which makes him suitable for a king.
What caught my attention is the king's rock, a stone native is mainly involved with poliwag and Slowpoke. Which are native to Kanto and Johto. My bet is that they went to explore previous regions starting with Johto.
N used to wear a crown and was king of team plasma it was probably N's.
I think originally there was going to be plans for you to be able to battle black and white's protagonist in the sequel games. This would make since because they were tracking N. I also love the Pokemon Generations episode because it shows the old protagonist coming back to Unova to help N.

Theory: The player died when N’s Castle collapsed back into the ground, and the entirety of BW1’s postgame isn’t canon.
In Pokemon Black and White 2 the castle is still there and you can still visit it and meet N again

It's nice to see this theory bet kinda confirmed in pokemon Masters EX, and apparently Hilda never met N? Whilst Hilbert is the one looking frantically for N. They got to say their thank yous and goodbyes and they seem genuinely happy, it's heartwarming
I was so excited when I found out that my favorite character from DPPT came out here and when his theme started playing all of a sudden that I screamed.
2 possibilities of what happened to Hilbert And Hilda
1: they probably joined the international police to locate the remaining team plasma members and sages and potentially also search for N as well
2: ghetsis likely found them and killed them....
And years later, Hilbert finally finds N on Passio.
I keep thinking this but I’m always sad to see the original protagonist never came back in the sequel it been a few years and their friends (Cheren and Bianca) grew up without them for a few years
well quick theory, maybe just like in Legends Hilbert and Hilda got sent back in time by something like Meloetta’s ruin form to stop the original dragon (kyu/resh/zec) from reeking havoc on the unova region from like 500 years ago

Did Hilbert have Zekrom while N had Reshiram? I believe it would’ve been cool if a third game was made where you can get all three like Emerald. If I recall the Tao trio were once a United dragon until they split when they came into conflict with each other of how the world should see fit.
But the real question is if the mother of the protagonist of B2/W2 was a nurse joy because she worked in the poke center

The Gen V games are my favorite set of Pokémon games, I think that this video describes Hilbert's/Hilda's and Natural's ambitions perfectly.

The art style in black and white 2 was something else. It just conveyed emotion a lot better (they did it in x and y too which was one of if not THE only saving grace for it)
what really happened with these characters is very simple, they are still there, because they are you and this means that hilbert and / or hilda are the same as the protagonists of black and white 2 you are yourself but with experience in black and white 2, Representing it as that we are a different person than we were before, thus changing the character even though this is only symbolic because in reality it is the same person, you

If you put it all together exactly the story makes sense the hunt for N isnt over yet hilbert/Hilda is still searching for N although I think they already found N in the unova may be just maybe hilbert/Hilda went for a another region but was never seen or the hunt for N is still going

He doesn't. He uses N's dragon. We never see Hilda's
