Hilbert and Hilda are still alive because after you beat N in Black 2 & White 2 N states he'll look for the previous protagonist and thank them for teaching him a lesson in helping find the formula that puts the world in place which is his truth or ideal. Furthermore, after you catch Reshiram/Zekrom he appears again and says he saw that person and gave them a sincere thanks for everything

Hilbert and Hilda are actually designed well, and personally are my favorite pokemon trainers. The only damn thing that makes me hate them is that they are named "HILBERT" and "HILDA"! WTF?! My theory is that they both were killed on route 10 by Kyurem, who was stolen by Ghetsis. Out of respect, the people vowed to take them as a legend and closed down all access to route 10. I also can tell where they might've been killed. On their way to see if N was hiding in Victory Road, they went to the checking bridge. It was there that Ghetsis held them down, killed them, and took their legendary Pokémon, Kyurem and Reshiram/Zekrom. All of their Pokémon were released, and so the legendaries became catchable again.

The reason I don't think they're dead is because if they were dead,why didn't Ghetsis use their Legendary Pokémon to fuse it with Kyurem and then fuse that Kyurem with N's Legendary Pokémon to get the "Original Dragon" mentioned in all those myths?
Because even if somebody were to have their respective orbs Reshiram and Zekrom would only reveal themselves to whom they deemed worthy aka a chosen one.

actually they planned to add Touya or Touko on B2/W2, to compete on PWT, on the beta there's unused dialogue for them on PWT, but then they scrap the idea because they think it will irrelevant and will be difficult to determined the team member of their pokemon since they're the protag on prequel, and no canon idea they team would be. this proves that they're meant to be survived by gamefreaks on B2/W2.
I swear to god noone remembers the core part about Zekrom or Reshiram, before they chose N and the Protag as the hero, they were in stone form. What's to say that they won't revert back to the stone form once the hero disappears

Gen 5 has one of the richer story lines of the games imo and has a lot of fan theories, so I'm not sure why people won't look at them as much. It's probably because the game didn't have as much plot holes as others, so we don't have to speculate.

Despite Hilbert and Hilda don't appear in B2W2 as NPCs, you can still link BW with B2W2 and fight them aswell as playing together in the subway. So my bet is that they gave up on seaching for pokemon and decided to start becomeing the best trainers alive like Red is in Gold/Silver/Crystal but isn't ready yet to face the protag on B2W2. Speaking of Red, Red reappears in B2W2 Pokemon World Tournament along with all other gym leaders and chaptions of other regions, but why did Red get to Unova? My guess is that Red is seaching for the best trainer in Unova (Hilbert/Hilda), but they doesn't feel ready to face Red yet. So maybe Hilbert/Hilda just cut themself from civilazation for a while to get personal training with their pokemon just like Red did, after all Red's mom didn't know that he disappeared to Mt. Silver. This is only theory and not facts, but doesn't it seem reasonable?

I have a theory. Hilbert/Hilda is able to capture Kyurem within Black and White and I'm sure anyone who played those games made sure to do so and yet somehow Team Plasma has obtained Kyurem for their plan in B2/W2 under Ghetsis' command. They establish that the protagonist and N canonically captured Reshiram/Zekrom and yet Team Plasma is not in possession of Hilbert/Hilda's Dragon and instead perform the Abso-fusion with N's dragon when he arrives to battle Ghetsis at the Giant Chasm. I believe that Hilbert/Hilda may have indeed been murdered by Team Plasma, here's my theory as to why based on this information we have. See, N vanished after the events of the main story in Black and White but Hilbert/Hilda remained in the Unova region to continue their journey and explore the Eastern half of the Region which they had no access to prior as well as assist International Police Officer "Looker" in apprehending the Team Plasma Sages. Hilbert/Hilda traveled the region and were even approached by the Shadow Triad during their exploration. Indicating they were being followed... Maybe even monitored the entire Post game. Hilbert/Hilda's actions remained predictable as they traveled Unova. N is nowhere to be seen having began a Journey of Self-reflection in light of what had transpired... Now Hilbert/Hilda supposedly go off in search of N after the events of Black and White. Let's say for example some point after Hilbert/Hilda captured Kyurem during their exploration of the region that a "reformed" Team Plasma member somehow caught up with Hilbert/Hilda and informed them that N was searching for them and wanted to meet again and tells them where he's waiting, only to find it's an ambush set up by Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad. That Hilbert/Hilda was indeed overwhelmed by numbers attacking all at once and killed. Ghetsis would try to take possession of their legendary Dragon pokemon , However it is established that Reshiram and Zekrom are able to Transform into their dormant forms the Light stone/Dark Stone at will. Let's say that they knew they would be captured and rather than allow their power to fall into the wrong hands after seeing their Trainer's demise they chose to seal their power away. However at no time and in no way is it said that Kyurem possesses this same ability as in it's normal form it is little more than a husk shed when Reshiram and Zekrom separated from their original form. Kyurem is weaker than both Reshiram and Zekrom on it's own, Powerful, but still weaker. However let's think that maybe all Team Plasma needed to do was take Kyurem's Poke ball from Hilbert/Hilda's possession or use their Trainer Card to access Hilbert/Hilda's PC to find the only other Powerful Pokémon of theirs they could use since their potential "Original Target" was out of their hands. Ghetsis would then need to regroup and revise his plan to utilize this "Husk" of a Pokémon and see if it could still prove itself useful. Which it turns out they discover that Kyurem has the ability to reunite the Dragons into their original form (Incomplete as it may be since at this moment we cannot form the original Dragon Pokémon in the games as of yet, however with Abso-fusion it is implied that a full reunification is possible.) It would then be prudent to acquire both the means to trigger Kyurem's ability to fuse with the Dragons or at least ONE of them to help give Team Plasma the weapon it needed to and flush N out of hiding. So Team Plasma began it's public operations as a terrorist force abducting Pokémon from their Trainers once again. Which then we get the B2/W2 Protagonist and their story Feel free to add anything or correct me if I'm missing anything o.o
XxKittyJayKayxX Sounds good but there is one problem: To fuse Kyurem to the Black or White Kyurem it needs Zekrom or Reshiram for sure. They need to be in their "stone form" (visible in the fusion cutscene in BW2). So if Hilda/Hilberts Zekrom/Reshiram already turned back into that stone form, Ns Reshiram/Zekrom wouldnt be needed in the first place.
Oh is that right? I haven't seen the cutscene where Kyurem fuses in b2w2 in awhile So I guess that slipped my mind. Anyway, there was actually dialoge found in Black 2 and White 2 of Black/White in the World Tournament, they say: "You communicate through Pokémon using feelings, not words! Everything can be understood through Pokémon battles! Let's Go!" and the after you beat Black/White they say: "Make your dreams come true! Someone once encouraged me to do that. Even now, im continuing my journey to realize those dreams." I don't know why Gamefreak decided to cut them from the game though...

I think they just left the reigon. They probably just never found N, and decided to search elsewhere. It'd be a possible explanation of the Reshiram and Zekrom statues in X and Y

You DO know that the BW's MC has a Resharam or a Zekram, right? Also you DO know that he was trying to obtain both legendaries, right? Even Ghetsis didn't know where the BW1 MC was. He was still looking for him/her. Plus, if Ghetsis did kill BW's MC then he would also have the other legendary and spliced all 3 together to create Kyurum's True form. Actually, the protagonist of bw were mentioned in bw2, especially N. N even stated that he might start looking for him/her to thank them. Also they mentioned two heros, one's N the other is hilbert or hilda, they mentioned them because of the crisis with team plasma, or Ghetsis, using kyreum to freeze unova, but they stated that the heros were far away.
It was more like nobody knew where they were it was just said they were going with the legendary pokemon but nobody actually saw them again or got to meet them
But the problem is that he only mentions them when thinking (or rather...telling it outloud...) of how they changed his perspective of things. If my memory isn't wrong...i think that in one of those cutscenes he wonders where they could be, meaning that he doesn't know where they are. Are they mentioned in the end? Yes But still no clue about where they are.
Maybe they met N, but are caught up in another series of events, like a new villain team, and pokedex. It isn't far'fetched considering professor oak just gives away pokedexes.
I suppose we can safely dismiss this theory now that Hilda and Hilbert have made their appearances in Pokemon Masters, which takes place many years after the events of B2/W2.
Actually, this can still hold weight given in US/UM the Ghetsis we battle is from an alternate timeline/dimension where his plans actually succeeded, and he takes Lillie hostage after he's defeated threatening her life. His succession in his world would mean if 'alternate world' Hilbert/Hilda failed to beat him, he would have killed them and would successfully take over Unova.
I think it's more the case of, one person is looking for another one person. It could be they're checking somewhere else further away, after searching Unova with no results, not being able to return to Unova in time. Perhaps it is a situation of them just being in the opposite half of the region. Maybe they got over their search for N and moved on, starting their own life. Maybe they're waiting on a random mountain top until some chump trainer arrives to battle them.
Or maybe in one of the later games all the discarded protagonists will come back as gym leaders and the elite four, now that would be funny... I can't wait for elite four member hillda. XD
I can't remember the exact quote, but I'm sure Cheren in B/W2 says something like "{...}But Reshiram/Zekrom(What ever the protagonists choice was from the first game) aren't in Unova". I think they're probably just travelling in other regions, after finding all of the seven sages, they went to look for N since Looker says something like a trainer's been spotted on a Black/White dragon in a far away place. They might have been too busy or far away to hear about the news in Unova, and their best friends didn't seem to want to contact them or anything, perhaps not wanting to involve them again?

i dont think they are dead. As shown in the final battle in black and white to defeat the final team once and for all, hilda/hilbert can defeat ghetsis. Going on that journey to look for N obviously, they would encounter other trainers, making their pokemon stronger. So if encountered by Ghetsis on that journey, there's no doubt that it would be easier to defeat Ghetsis. Needless to say, he could've also gotten stronger, but he would've been more focused on getting Kyurem. Plus Hilda/Hilbert have the other legendary pokemon. If Ghetsis killed them, then he would most likely be in possession of that pokemon. He would've also used their deaths as a taunt against N. Which leads me to believe that they are most likely lost or caught up in events from another region, but I don't think that they're dead. Also japanese names are Touya(b) and Touko(w)

in the manga they were says to disappear after the defeat of team plasma on BW and Hilda is looking for him. But what really happened is that Hilbert is absorbed by reshiram into the pokemon dream world when reshiram returned to Stone form. Hilbert and reshiram planned to attack kyurem from inside.
A theory that I have come up with (or maybe someone else has as well) is that the protagonist of Platinum, was assassinated by the shadow triad. The reason for this is because in B&W, the shadow triad are the ones to give you the Adamant orb, Lustrous orb, and Griseous orb. Three pretty unique items that were previously owned, by the protagonist of Platinum. Since we are talking about a trainer, who possibly caught one of the strongest legendary trios in the world, I doubt they got it by defeating him in a pokemon battle.
Even if they were murdered it can't be Ghetsis because if he did he would have stolen their legendaries (Zekrom or Reshiram) meaning the plot and his plan would have been much different if had possetion of one of the legendaries.
It could be ghetsis as if they felt like something bad was going to happen so they sent there Pokemon away which would explain why he doesn't have their legendary of possibly it turned back into the light or dark stone and he can't get them to come out and he got his grunts to release the other Pokemon or one of the sages who was against ghetsis in b2/w2 took them in as a way to try to apologise to the protagonist for not being able to save them

If you've seen the sun and moon trailers the battle tree has red and blue in full conversations and even shows cinthia and wally so maybe gamefreak is just waiting for Pokémon's 20th anniversary to show all the previous trainers and rivals like a trip down memory lane
I'd like to point out they were originally supposed to be programmed into the PWT after the memory link function was used. Also base dialogue was encoded into the game for the in B2W2.
Note: I haven't watched the entire video. Hilbert went to an island that you go to post game in black and white 2, and when you go there, you can find Hilbert is on the edge of a cliff, and you can fight him.
i honestly think GHetsis Brainwashed them into working for him, i mean think about it Hilbert/Hilda Single handly destroyed his team, it would be a waste to kill them losing all of the potential they have so instead he brainwash's them making them his loyal puppets, and then has Hilbert/Hilda trade him Kyurem and Zekrom/Reshiram(depending on the version) i Honestly hope they bring back Hilda and Hilbert in Later generations it would be interesting to see a old Protagonist as a Villain for once, for ex. Red as the Leader of a New faction after completing his pokedex he was notified of the many other regions causing him to travel these regions and continue to catch pokemon and collect badges but soon, he elt no sense of Accomplishment, everything was the same, bored with his Repetative life he Began to stray towards the side of evil, his actions escalating more and more finally leading him to create an evil team

This theory can also be supported by the fact that Ghetsis did try to kill your character in BW2, meaning that he wouldn't give a second thought about murdering the original protagonists.

Um... If Ghetsis really did kill either of the protagonists then why didn't he take Zekrom/Reshiram and use them instead of luring N to take the dragon he had? I know this is really late... But the perfect theory is that they went in search of N. "But black 2 and white 2 has N in it". NO. That's his zoroark. His zoroark appears in our rivals dream, and also guides us through victory road into his castle. Implying that ZOROARK is N, and the real N is still out somewhere. Why would N-zoroark have zekrom/reshiram? Because its literally the smartest Pokémon ever.

N *does* make mention of Hilda/Hilbert in Black 2 and White 2 though. After you battle him in his castle after following his Zourark, he says "Now I'm going to find that important friend I made two years ago" which is of course, the player character from the previous game.
Spoilers for the Black and White manga... Black got sucked into the Dream World through Light Stone after defeating Ghetsis in Black and White. He poped out with Reshiram 2 years later, united with his friends and family. White was especially happy to see him, considering she was there to watch Black get sucked into the Pokèmon Dream World.
if ghetsis killed hilbert/hilda, then wouldn't he have taken reshiram/zekrom as well. if he did, then the opposite black/white kyurem would've appeared. they are lost
That's pretty much the biggest hole with the theory. At worst, Ghetsis would have obtained and enslaved Reshiram/Zekrom after murdering Hilbert/Nina (after all, wouldn't Ghetsis, a power-mad despot, want that power all to himself?). At best, Reshiram/Zekrom would have overpowered him and killed him to avenge its fallen master.
Black and White are not dead. Remember, they have Zekrom/Reshiram. If they were murdered by Ghetsis, he would have stolen the legendary from them, (probably) along with their entire team. So no, they aren't dead. It would be cool if in Sun and Moon, you find one of them in the Gen 7 region where they have the starter that's the same type as yours.
They should do a game where they take a couple extra years to make to create a game where you explore and battle every gym leader/villain group and have all the protagonists join together from all the regions and be able to play in all the regions(with transferable data from the rest of all your games)
I doubt Ghetsis could have murdered them I bet Resharam/Zekrom wouldn't have allowed someone to have killed they're trainer so my bet they're in another region and likely getting caught up with helping people of some other trouble while looking for N
The other one, who did not end up with a legendary pokemon might either really be dead or just gone away. If I remember their role correctly it was just an AI controlled multiplayer substitute. Or am I confusing them around with the secondary protagonist of B2/W2? The other one is ..... somewhere, but probably alive due to their mother not frieking out out with worries because they do not answer their (what was the device called again?) This is probably because the last contact made has not been too long ago. Just 2 weeks max. I think but hey. Speculating is defenitely not the answer, just a little possibility
Oh God how could I forget this? Pokémon Master literally showed us that they are alive (even if there are some "problems" because the timelines and behavior are different from show to game to Manga etc. For example in Pokémon generation Hilbert come back and meet N during Black and White 2 events, in the Manga Hilbert meet N however the events with N are mixed with both Hilbert and Hilda but mostly Hilbert, in Pokémon Master Hilda doesn't even know him and while she's more energetic Hilbert is more calm and serious while in the Manga it was the opposite. It's more like they are different timelines) I think that we should also remember that depending on which protagonist you chose the other one won't end up dead (or whatever happened to the other) because as confirmed in the game Black and White (I'm using who I used as main character) if you chose Hilbert it's canonically confirmed (in the game) that Hilda is doing her own things. Now, there is actually a big problem with main character meeting another main character but that's not related to the Theory even if it wouldn't be possible for a lot of reasons. Anyway, maybe they are dead or maybe not, I don't know, however if for example you chose Hilbert then Hilda have nothing to do with N, Team Plasma or Ghetsis so if one of them died the other one must be alive minding their own business and keep going with their lives. Even if this Theory make sense there is still this part that can't be explained because if Hilbert is searching for N (and then he got killed) while Hilda was a character we met only once then we never saw again in Black and White and she continued living her life how can she disappear if we have to canonically separate the two and their life after Black and White events? Depending on who you chose they never met N, Team Plasma or someone else connected to them. It would however make a bit of sense if when you chose Nate or Rose (it's just a random "Theory" that I thought right now but I don't have actual proof) as main character then the other is actually Hilbert or Hilda as a grown up versions of them. For example if you chose Nate then the other one who you don't see (and is traveling to find N) is Hilda going with the name Rose maybe because she doesn't want to have problems with Team Plasma. Same goes if you chose Rose and not Nate. Nate his Hilbert going around to find N and changed name for the same reason. I don't remember however if in Black and White 2 you can meet the other main character around somewhere that can confirm if they go by the name Nate/Rose, however it would be interesting if the missing main character that you don't chose is either Hilbert or Hilda searching for N so that's why you can't see Hilbert or Hilda but at the same time you kinda did. That's just a Random Theory like I already said though and I literally wrote it at 4:45 AM so if it sound crazy or there are mistakes I'm sorry Edit: Also, about the Ghetsis killing them Theory. It's not impossible, in the Manga (SPOILER FOR THE END) even if Hilbert isn't really dead he got trapped in Reshiram orb by Ghetsis out of revenge while Hilda couldn't do anything to save him because she wasn't worth as a Hero and the Orb probably followed N or went back to the sand Castle (because as the Manga said Reshiram can't stay without Zekrom even if it doesn't make sense because N would have died splatting on the sea since if Reshiram can't stay without Zekrom same goes for Zekrom but let's pretend that it only happened to Hilbert for plot sake)

My theory is that they both were killed on route 10 by Kyurem, who was stolen by Ghetsis. Out of respect, the people vowed to take them as a legend and closed down all access to route 10. I also can tell where they might've been killed. On their way to see if N was hiding in Victory Road, they went to the checking bridge. It was there that Ghetsis held them down, killed them, and took their legendary Pokémon, Kyurem and Reshiram/Zekrom. All of their Pokémon were released, and so the legendaries became catchable again.

The reason I don't think they're dead is because if they were dead,why didn't Ghetsis use their Legendary Pokémon to fuse it with Kyurem and then fuse that Kyurem with N's Legendary Pokémon to get the "Original Dragon" mentioned in all those myths?

Despite Hilbert and Hilda don't appear in B2W2 as NPCs, you can still link BW with B2W2 and fight them aswell as playing together in the subway.
So my bet is that they gave up on seaching for pokemon and decided to start becomeing the best trainers alive like Red is in Gold/Silver/Crystal but isn't ready yet to face the protag on B2W2.
Speaking of Red, Red reappears in B2W2 Pokemon World Tournament along with all other gym leaders and chaptions of other regions, but why did Red get to Unova?
My guess is that Red is seaching for the best trainer in Unova (Hilbert/Hilda), but they doesn't feel ready to face Red yet.
So maybe Hilbert/Hilda just cut themself from civilazation for a while to get personal training with their pokemon just like Red did, after all Red's mom didn't know that he disappeared to Mt. Silver.

I have a theory. Hilbert/Hilda is able to capture Kyurem within Black and White and I'm sure anyone who played those games made sure to do so and yet somehow Team Plasma has obtained Kyurem for their plan in B2/W2 under Ghetsis' command. They establish that the protagonist and N canonically captured Reshiram/Zekrom and yet Team Plasma is not in possession of Hilbert/Hilda's Dragon and instead perform the Abso-fusion with N's dragon when he arrives to battle Ghetsis at the Giant Chasm.
I believe that Hilbert/Hilda may have indeed been murdered by Team Plasma, here's my theory as to why based on this information we have. See, N vanished after the events of the main story in Black and White but Hilbert/Hilda remained in the Unova region to continue their journey and explore the Eastern half of the Region which they had no access to prior as well as assist International Police Officer "Looker" in apprehending the Team Plasma Sages. Hilbert/Hilda traveled the region and were even approached by the Shadow Triad during their exploration. Indicating they were being followed... Maybe even monitored the entire Post game. Hilbert/Hilda's actions remained predictable as they traveled Unova. N is nowhere to be seen having began a Journey of Self-reflection in light of what had transpired...
Now Hilbert/Hilda supposedly go off in search of N after the events of Black and White. Let's say for example some point after Hilbert/Hilda captured Kyurem during their exploration of the region that a "reformed" Team Plasma member somehow caught up with Hilbert/Hilda and informed them that N was searching for them and wanted to meet again and tells them where he's waiting, only to find it's an ambush set up by Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad. That Hilbert/Hilda was indeed overwhelmed by numbers attacking all at once and killed. Ghetsis would try to take possession of their legendary Dragon pokemon , However it is established that Reshiram and Zekrom are able to Transform into their dormant forms the Light stone/Dark Stone at will. Let's say that they knew they would be captured and rather than allow their power to fall into the wrong hands after seeing their Trainer's demise they chose to seal their power away. However at no time and in no way is it said that Kyurem possesses this same ability as in it's normal form it is little more than a husk shed when Reshiram and Zekrom separated from their original form. Kyurem is weaker than both Reshiram and Zekrom on it's own, Powerful, but still weaker. However let's think that maybe all Team Plasma needed to do was take Kyurem's Poke ball from Hilbert/Hilda's possession or use their Trainer Card to access Hilbert/Hilda's PC to find the only other Powerful Pokémon of theirs they could use since their potential "Original Target" was out of their hands. Ghetsis would then need to regroup and revise his plan to utilize this "Husk" of a Pokémon and see if it could still prove itself useful. Which it turns out they discover that Kyurem has the ability to reunite the Dragons into their original form (Incomplete as it may be since at this moment we cannot form the original Dragon Pokémon in the games as of yet, however with Abso-fusion it is implied that a full reunification is possible.) It would then be prudent to acquire both the means to trigger Kyurem's ability to fuse with the Dragons or at least ONE of them to help give Team Plasma the weapon it needed to and flush N out of hiding. So Team Plasma began it's public operations as a terrorist force abducting Pokémon from their Trainers once again. Which then we get the B2/W2 Protagonist and their story

To fuse Kyurem to the Black or White Kyurem it needs Zekrom or Reshiram for sure. They need to be in their "stone form" (visible in the fusion cutscene in BW2). So if Hilda/Hilberts Zekrom/Reshiram already turned back into that stone form, Ns Reshiram/Zekrom wouldnt be needed in the first place.
Oh is that right? I haven't seen the cutscene where Kyurem fuses in b2w2 in awhile So I guess that slipped my mind. I just remembered Kyurem getting those "wires" around the other Dragon I was making the presumption based on the idea that if Reshiram/Zekrom turned to stone and refused to reawaken that Team plasma would be unable to force a fusion

You DO know that the BW's MC has a Resharam or a Zekram, right? Also you DO know that he was trying to obtain both legendaries, right? Even Ghetsis didn't know where the BW1 MC was. He was still looking for him/her. Also they mentioned two heros, one's N the other is hilbert or hilda, they mentioned them because of the crisis with team plasma, or Ghetsis, using kyreum to freeze unova, but they stated that the heros were far away.

I suppose we can safely dismiss this theory now that Hilda and Hilbert have made their appearances in Pokemon Masters, which takes place many years after the events of B2/W2.
Actually, this can still hold weight given in US/UM the Ghetsis we battle is from an alternate timeline/dimension where his plans actually succeeded, and he takes Lillie hostage after he's defeated threatening her life. His succession in his world would mean if 'alternate world' Hilbert/Hilda failed to beat him, he would have killed them and would successfully take over Unova.
I think it's more the case of, one person is looking for another one person. It could be they're checking somewhere else further away, after searching Unova with no results, not being able to return to Unova in time. Perhaps it is a situation of them just being in the opposite half of the region. Maybe they got over their search for N and moved on, starting their own life. Maybe they're waiting on a random mountain top until some chump trainer arrives to battle them.
Or maybe in one of the later games all the discarded protagonists will come back as gym leaders and the elite four, now that would be funny... I can't wait for elite four member hillda. XD
I can't remember the exact quote, but I'm sure Cheren in B/W2 says something like "{...}But Reshiram/Zekrom(What ever the protagonists choice was from the first game) aren't in Unova". I think they're probably just travelling in other regions, after finding all of the seven sages, they went to look for N since Looker says something like a trainer's been spotted on a Black/White dragon in a far away place. They might have been too busy or far away to hear about the news in Unova, and their best friends didn't seem to want to contact them or anything, perhaps not wanting to involve them again?

i dont think they are dead. As shown in the final battle in black and white to defeat the final team once and for all, hilda/hilbert can defeat ghetsis. Going on that journey to look for N obviously, they would encounter other trainers, making their pokemon stronger. So if encountered by Ghetsis on that journey, there's no doubt that it would be easier to defeat Ghetsis. Needless to say, he could've also gotten stronger, but he would've been more focused on getting Kyurem. Plus Hilda/Hilbert have the other legendary pokemon. If Ghetsis killed them, then he would most likely be in possession of that pokemon. He would've also used their deaths as a taunt against N. Which leads me to believe that they are most likely lost or caught up in events from another region, but I don't think that they're dead. Also japanese names are Touya(b) and Touko(w)

in the manga they were says to disappear after the defeat of team plasma on BW and Hilda is looking for him. But what really happened is that Hilbert is absorbed by reshiram into the pokemon dream world when reshiram returned to Stone form. Hilbert and reshiram planned to attack kyurem from inside.
A theory that I have come up with (or maybe someone else has as well) is that the protagonist of Platinum, was assassinated by the shadow triad. The reason for this is because in B&W, the shadow triad are the ones to give you the Adamant orb, Lustrous orb, and Griseous orb. Three pretty unique items that were previously owned, by the protagonist of Platinum. Since we are talking about a trainer, who possibly caught one of the strongest legendary trios in the world, I doubt they got it by defeating him in a pokemon battle.
Even if they were murdered it can't be Ghetsis because if he did he would have stolen their legendaries (Zekrom or Reshiram) meaning the plot and his plan would have been much different if had possetion of one of the legendaries.
It could be ghetsis as if they felt like something bad was going to happen so they sent there Pokemon away which would explain why he doesn't have their legendary of possibly it turned back into the light or dark stone and he can't get them to come out and he got his grunts to release the other Pokemon or one of the sages who was against ghetsis in b2/w2 took them in as a way to try to apologise to the protagonist for not being able to save them

Black got sucked into the Dream World through Light Stone after defeating Ghetsis in Black and White. He poped out with Reshiram 2 years later, united with his friends and family. White was especially happy to see him, considering she was there to watch Black get sucked into the Pokèmon Dream World.

That's pretty much the biggest hole with the theory.
At worst, Ghetsis would have obtained and enslaved Reshiram/Zekrom after murdering Hilbert/Nina (after all, wouldn't Ghetsis, a power-mad despot, want that power all to himself?). At best, Reshiram/Zekrom would have overpowered him and killed him to avenge its fallen master.
Black and White are not dead. Remember, they have Zekrom/Reshiram. If they were murdered by Ghetsis, he would have stolen the legendary from them, (probably) along with their entire team. So no, they aren't dead. It would be cool if in Sun and Moon, you find one of them in the Gen 7 region where they have the starter that's the same type as yours.
They should do a game where they take a couple extra years to make to create a game where you explore and battle every gym leader/villain group and have all the protagonists join together from all the regions and be able to play in all the regions(with transferable data from the rest of all your games)

Pokémon Master literally showed us that they are alive (even if there are some "problems" because the timelines and behavior are different from show to game to Manga etc.
For example in Pokémon generation Hilbert come back and meet N during Black and White 2 events, in the Manga Hilbert meet N however the events with N are mixed with both Hilbert and Hilda but mostly Hilbert, in Pokémon Master Hilda doesn't even know him and while she's more energetic Hilbert is more calm and serious while in the Manga it was the opposite.
It's more like they are different timelines)
I think that we should also remember that depending on which protagonist you chose the other one won't end up dead (or whatever happened to the other) because as confirmed in the game Black and White (I'm using who I used as main character) if you chose Hilbert it's canonically confirmed (in the game) that Hilda is doing her own things.
Now, there is actually a big problem with main character meeting another main character but that's not related to the Theory even if it wouldn't be possible for a lot of reasons.
Anyway, maybe they are dead or maybe not, I don't know, however if for example you chose Hilbert then Hilda have nothing to do with N, Team Plasma or Ghetsis so if one of them died the other one must be alive minding their own business and keep going with their lives.
Even if this Theory make sense there is still this part that can't be explained because if Hilbert is searching for N (and then he got killed) while Hilda was a character we met only once then we never saw again in Black and White and she continued living her life how can she disappear if we have to canonically separate the two and their life after Black and White events?

It would however make a bit of sense if when you chose Nate or Rose (it's just a random "Theory" that I thought right now but I don't have actual proof) as main character then the other is actually Hilbert or Hilda as a grown up versions of them.
For example if you chose Nate then the other one who you don't see (and is traveling to find N) is Hilda going with the name Rose maybe because she doesn't want to have problems with Team Plasma.
Same goes if you chose Rose and not Nate.
Nate his Hilbert going around to find N and changed name for the same reason.
I don't remember however if in Black and White 2 you can meet the other main character around somewhere that can confirm if they go by the name Nate/Rose, however it would be interesting if the missing main character that you don't chose is either Hilbert or Hilda searching for N so that's why you can't see Hilbert or Hilda but at the same time you kinda did.
That's just a Random Theory like I already said though and I literally wrote it at 4:45 AM so if it sound crazy or there are mistakes I'm sorry

It's not impossible, in the Manga (SPOILER FOR THE END) even if Hilbert isn't really dead he got trapped in Reshiram orb by Ghetsis out of revenge while Hilda couldn't do anything to save him because she wasn't worth as a Hero and the Orb probably followed N or went back to the sand Castle (because as the Manga said Reshiram can't stay without Zekrom even if it doesn't make sense because N would have died splatting on the sea since if Reshiram can't stay without Zekrom same goes for Zekrom but let's pretend that it only happened to Hilbert for plot sake)
