There is only 1 thing i can say, Zeus's shield is the best weapon in the game overall, you can make some crazy builds, have some godly damage and have a jolly old time

I actually like the mini arrow boon from artemis. Synergizes well with my favorite weapon to use *gun.* it has been a while since I played Hades though.
@@daniellejackson6543 *GUN* is a very good weapon, my mom hates using it due to it needing to reload though... I don't agree with her on that, the shotgun firing style for it is just amazing.
They mention it in game, too, and play it off as Zagreus and Dionysus pranking Orpheus, getting him to come up with those myths. Dionysus' boons generally aren't that great, though; basically every weapon will want something besides his core boons, but he makes up for it in being very simple. You don't need to optimize boon parhs when you can just spam levels on his hangover or cast, but at higher levels of play he falls off in most cases with only some exceptions. Super mid god overall

@@jonathand.t.5051 Not really. She's more of a support God who you'd usually enjoy seeing, but can be crucial or unnecessary for your build. If you're talking about highest level as highest heat, zeus on zeus shield is the best since it's reliable spammable damage even when approval process takes away any choice in boons. Athena is the best god overall at many higher heat levels, because divine dash is amazing defensively and she can give you extra stubborn defiance charges
I'm 4 minutes in and I just gotta say this all feels like if Hypnos was just more... agressive with Zag and also took the time to write down all his thoughts to recite to you the next time you died but he wouldn't do that, thats valuable napping time.

Other fun, sometimes easy builds: - Beowulf with Dionysus on the Cast: There's a bug in the game where pom upgrades on the cast don't diminish *specifically for this combination*. Auto generating casts + chaos cast + (if you're lucky artemis legendary) and all poms go on your cast for _massive damage_ - Spear with serrated edge and poseidon on the attack, zeus on (not the cast), and then sea storm. 180 damage per dash + poseidon attack and either of the various buffs for all the goodies. Bonus points for as big a double strike as you can get. - All of the zeus on zeus shield because it's in the name and also kinda plays itself in the same way as dionysus does - Arthur with artemis and just do all the damage. Alternatively, Rama with artemis, and do the same. - Achilles spear with literally any cast, all the money in the cast. Kinda can't mess this one up. - Chiron with all the zeus (especially zeus special), or with poseidon special + sea storm again, but you need double strike because of how the lightning bolt timer works.
Seeing the way these builds just MELT bosses is wildly satisfying (and I WILL be trying these to finally get past Hades bc I'm like 40 runs in and took a break bc I couldn't get through his second phase 🙃🙃)
@@Isaac-oq3yf If you've beaten the game and unlocked Pact of Punishment (the "heat" levels you see ppl talking about) one of them progressively upgrades each boss. At max, this includes giving Hades a form 3. It's... Rough, until you get used to it. I find anything that lets me keep Aphrodite on dash to be helpful with survivability.
Love this video! I noticed that there’s no spear build, so I figured I’d post one here that worked pretty well for me. Basic Zagreus aspect works here. The build is centered around an Ares special and Aphrodite attack, as well as the Chain Skewer upgrade from the Daedalus Hammer. Impending Doom from Ares is also helpful, and if you can get Curse of Longing, definitely take it. Artemis cast and Athena dash are nice, and also as much crit that you can cram in here. The strategy for this build is pretty simple: As soon as you enter a room, use your special to apply Doom to all enemies. Use your attack to have two status effects if you have the percent buff from the mirror, then hit everyone with the special again. That’s the gist of the playstyle. Sorry for the text wall, but I hope this is helpful for people who want to use Varatha!
I was about to get mad on bashing Dionysus till Part s-Seven. the literal synergies from the duo boons are so good on any build (even ones that aren't the Aegis and Coronacht builds here). Dionysus lives up to his name whenever he shows up with the duo boons, and playing any run with them turns the run into party time with how fun and funny some builds become.
8:37 Hate to break it to you but Divine Dash can no longer be used to get Deadly Reversal. The devs know everyone is spamming Divine Dash and kept getting Deadly Reversal whenever Artemis shows up.
@@ultim8gamerz1 yes. the duo boon can still synergize with Divine Dash as it has Deflect. It is just that the Dash can no longer allow you to get Deadly Reversal and you need Athena's Attack or Special.

Thank you for the longer video. I realize that it took forever to edit, and I think I can speak for most people who watched it when I say that we appreciate it. I'm particularly grateful for the long content now, it's been a hellish few weeks capped off with an abysmal birthday, and this half-hour or so has definitely brightened the mood at least a little bit. Personally, though, of all the builds in Hades, my strongest tend to be with Aspect of Arthur. Just because with the right boons (usually Aphrodite, who seems to have the highest damage scaling in the game, ahead of even Athena and Poseidon) that sword SLAPS. And it's equally well suited to single target damage and clearing out crowds once you get used to the attack patterns. They may be very slow, but they hit like a freight train and they cover a huge area, and it doesn't matter if you're vulnerable if there's nobody left to be vulnerable to. Aspect of Arthur with a mostly Aph/Artemis build was what got me my 50 heat victory.
@@tonyru6982 If I recall correctly, you have to unlock the hidden aspect of the Spear first. You also have to have invested some Titan Blood in the blade, I think a minimum of 5. A lot of the hidden aspects also require you to speak to a specific person while wearing any other variant of the weapon, but I don't remember whether the Aspect of Arthur needed that, or who it was if it did.
@@artorios637 There are honestly quite a few things about the sword which, once you get used to working with them, are incredibly strong. The alt attack is extremely powerful, but it requires you to play around it in a way that very few other weapons do. It's just a weapon that works very, very differently from every other form in the game, even other sword forms, but once you get used to it, it is very potent. The main thing is just getting used to the different pace, and that every attack is a commitment. That's not much of a problem for me, though, I've always been a fan of the 'move slow, swing slow, hit BIG' style in just about any game.
Sword: Works well with all overpowed builds. Gauntlets: Damage. Gun: Good chip damage while being safe. Bow: Damage v2. Shield: crowd annihilation. Spear: the disappointing child.
Lemme but you on a spear game changer with 3 simple things: 1. Flurry Jab 2. Extending jab 3. Hermes Boon fast Attack (Epic level preferred) This beautiful combination is the base trifecta, now any additional boon is the cherry on top

he got me in the first half. Dionysus is by far my favorite god, and I was shocked to hear him slandered like that. Also, I'm surprised the spear didn't make it, since a hammer plus a dionysus attack to make him a stabby poison boi works wonders.

Aspect of Chiron is honestly just one of the best in the game for pretty much any build. If you see something that gives Special Damage without replacing anything stack it on and watching things perish.
I remember that one time I got a full ares build (super high doom damage, reaplaying of doom for even more damage and a 80% extra doom damage at the cost of activation speed, wich led me apply even more doom btw) in the fucking Special, combine this with crit boosts from Artemis and u get that I did about 1500 dmg to hades on one cast, that was a fun run
I recently got merciful end on a build with the Zeus shield that had Athena special and a doom attack so I’d just aim To blitz a boss while the shield kept telling-triggering doom every time. It was nuts
i love all this type of video. The're like so easy and fun to watch and follow, even for being literally explain in insults, some parta feels calm for the moment and it makes it feel nice about it, this is TRUE good content. Love it, keep up the great work.
My personal favourite build is Chiron's Bow with Afrodite's attack and Dionisis' Special, getting their duo boon as well. Just those three things can melt any enemy in the game in seconds, not counting any other boons you can pick up on the way.
i love the influx on Hades content being pushed on suggested due to sequel, loved the snarkiness and the absolute madlad energy you berated me with, this was 100% enjoyable

I seem to recall Aspect of Hera Aphrodite's cast Artemis's exit wounds, Hermes Quick reload and Artemis's legendary boon was a fun time. Pretty much you load an arrow attached to an Atomic bomb and paste a foe. The bloodstones then pop out fast from Hermes and the fun continues. Also, I find finishing off the temple of Styx with the Pom Blossom works out decently, since every room the blossom considers a floor.
Can confirm that Hestia is one of the best aspects, it's what helped me get 32 heat. Not with the exact build here, I went a little spicy with Aphrodite special and hazard bomb.

Something you might want to check out is the hunting blades duo boon. Achilles aspect on spear buffs 4 casts/attacks after special recovery. Combined with the seeking blade vortexes, it does hella dmg.
I pressed into this video out of curiosity, was playing a run while listening, loudly yelled 'OI' whenever you dunked on Dionysius because I was playing a Chiron Dio build, then laughed when you started on the dio build because that is precisely when I started annihilating Hades with it.
As someone with a pb of 35 heat and 250 escape attempts, yes Edit: I am appalled you didn't mention Aspect of Beowulf / Hera, They're a hard carry no matter what part of the game you're in
@@Windette True, but Artemis straight up gives you more casts, which is very early on and the mirror upgrade does too and you don't even need to switch to the alternate upgrades for those. Also, don't quote me on this but I believe Hermes has stuff to do with casts too; One boon makes them drop out from enemies quicker which is good for the Aspect of Hera and another one makes them return to you way faster which is good if you either miss and they become unreachable, or if you aimed into a group of enemies and you're low hp (which your viewers will be all the time)
To add additional comment to the Chiron/Zeus build, if the game FORCES you to take a Zeus boon, throw him on your call. Smoldering Air is a very very nice duo to add to the pool.
Aspect of Eris Adamant Rail, Dionysus on attack, Ares on special, Athena on dash. If you can get Support Fire and the three-round burst hammer upgrade, you're on cruise

Sweet guide! on the gilga twin fists build, I love especially runs with fake good RNG. Got athena 3 times in the run and Ares 3 times from CONSECUTIVE rooms, and couldn't get impending doom from either of them and not even from rerolls, not to mention the duo boon also didn't roll. On paper it seemed like the luckiest run and the build just didn't happen

I've gotten the lighting-frost fog Dyonisus cast once and it was genuinely terrifying to behold. You just drop casts and walk away and things die.

rama with artemis is nice, but i actually prefer artemis on the maxed out zagreus bow, just cause you really don't have to hope for crits anymore.

Doesn’t the effect still trigger by dash you just need to get the effect without the dash

@@tonyru6982 If I recall correctly, you have to unlock the hidden aspect of the Spear first. You also have to have invested some Titan Blood in the blade, I think a minimum of 5. A lot of the hidden aspects also require you to speak to a specific person while wearing any other variant of the weapon, but I don't remember whether the Aspect of Arthur needed that, or who it was if it did.
Plus you can dash mid attack string with it and carry your current attack through. It's kinda niche but it helped me in my heart 8 run with the sword.
@@artorios637 There are honestly quite a few things about the sword which, once you get used to working with them, are incredibly strong. The alt attack is extremely powerful, but it requires you to play around it in a way that very few other weapons do. It's just a weapon that works very, very differently from every other form in the game, even other sword forms, but once you get used to it, it is very potent. The main thing is just getting used to the different pace, and that every attack is a commitment. That's not much of a problem for me, though, I've always been a fan of the 'move slow, swing slow, hit BIG' style in just about any game.
Sword: Works well with all overpowed builds.
Gauntlets: Damage.
Gun: Good chip damage while being safe.
Bow: Damage v2.
Shield: crowd annihilation.
Spear: the disappointing child.
Lemme but you on a spear game changer with 3 simple things:
1. Flurry Jab
2. Extending jab
3. Hermes Boon fast Attack (Epic level preferred)
This beautiful combination is the base trifecta, now any additional boon is the cherry on top

he got me in the first half. Dionysus is by far my favorite god, and I was shocked to hear him slandered like that. Also, I'm surprised the spear didn't make it, since a hammer plus a dionysus attack to make him a stabby poison boi works wonders.

@@Windette fair enough. I switched to ares on special, for doom when throwing. If you can get aphrodite on normal attack, then you are set nicely!

@@whereismycup can confirm. grenade launcher with artemis boon and hammer that gives friendly fire wipes everything, including bosses when it crits.
@@Windette IDK, the hammer ability that gives the spear special aim assist and AOE damage seems pretty OP if you ask me.

Great game choice I loved Hades. Put about 220 hours in and go to heat 20 with most weapons along with the 100%, really really good game

Aspect of Chiron is honestly just one of the best in the game for pretty much any build. If you see something that gives Special Damage without replacing anything stack it on and watching things perish.
I remember that one time I got a full ares build (super high doom damage, reaplaying of doom for even more damage and a 80% extra doom damage at the cost of activation speed, wich led me apply even more doom btw) in the fucking Special, combine this with crit boosts from Artemis and u get that I did about 1500 dmg to hades on one cast, that was a fun run

I recently got merciful end on a build with the Zeus shield that had Athena special and a doom attack so I’d just aim
To blitz a boss while the shield kept telling-triggering doom every time. It was nuts

i love all this type of video. The're like so easy and fun to watch and follow, even for being literally explain in insults, some parta feels calm for the moment and it makes it feel nice about it, this is TRUE good content. Love it, keep up the great work.
My personal favourite build is Chiron's Bow with Afrodite's attack and Dionisis' Special, getting their duo boon as well. Just those three things can melt any enemy in the game in seconds, not counting any other boons you can pick up on the way.
i love the influx on Hades content being pushed on suggested due to sequel, loved the snarkiness and the absolute madlad energy you berated me with, this was 100% enjoyable

I seem to recall Aspect of Hera Aphrodite's cast Artemis's exit wounds, Hermes Quick reload and Artemis's legendary boon was a fun time. Pretty much you load an arrow attached to an Atomic bomb and paste a foe. The bloodstones then pop out fast from Hermes and the fun continues. Also, I find finishing off the temple of Styx with the Pom Blossom works out decently, since every room the blossom considers a floor.
"An ice cube in hell's chance" is definitely a phrase I'm going to use in regular conversation from now on.
Can confirm that Hestia is one of the best aspects, it's what helped me get 32 heat. Not with the exact build here, I went a little spicy with Aphrodite special and hazard bomb.

Something you might want to check out is the hunting blades duo boon. Achilles aspect on spear buffs 4 casts/attacks after special recovery. Combined with the seeking blade vortexes, it does hella dmg.
I pressed into this video out of curiosity, was playing a run while listening, loudly yelled 'OI' whenever you dunked on Dionysius because I was playing a Chiron Dio build, then laughed when you started on the dio build because that is precisely when I started annihilating Hades with it.

provided you understand how to get more casts which also requires a lot more game knowledge than my viewers could manage
@@Windette True, but Artemis straight up gives you more casts, which is very early on and the mirror upgrade does too and you don't even need to switch to the alternate upgrades for those.
Also, don't quote me on this but I believe Hermes has stuff to do with casts too; One boon makes them drop out from enemies quicker which is good for the Aspect of Hera and another one makes them return to you way faster which is good if you either miss and they become unreachable, or if you aimed into a group of enemies and you're low hp (which your viewers will be all the time)

To add additional comment to the Chiron/Zeus build, if the game FORCES you to take a Zeus boon, throw him on your call. Smoldering Air is a very very nice duo to add to the pool.

Sweet guide! on the gilga twin fists build, I love especially runs with fake good RNG. Got athena 3 times in the run and Ares 3 times from CONSECUTIVE rooms, and couldn't get impending doom from either of them and not even from rerolls, not to mention the duo boon also didn't roll. On paper it seemed like the luckiest run and the build just didn't happen
