Thank you for taking the effort to make such a good video on the Godox X3 flash trigger. I agree about the orientation of the buttons especially when Godox had changed the orientation of the X1T deliberately to the left side on the X2T as well as the XPro triggers. Many be there will be a X3-II or X4 to fix the orientation. Size is the most attractive feature to me as an event photographer who is looking to carry a smaller bag on location. Godox make this touch screen module for the Godox user to get used to the touch screen functionalities so I can only imagine that more of the newer products will come with them to compete with their competitors; however, for on camera flash I am not sure how functional it would be when waring gloves in the cold weather condition.
Thank you so much for the video. I just bought an X3 and didn’t know where to start. This is a lifesaver 😍👍
Glad I could help!
I thought I would have zero interest in this, but decided to watch it to support you. But with the size of the device this could be fantastic when you don’t want to carry a flash on your camera and just keep it in your pocket. And the trigger is so small it doesn’t interfere with you on the camera.
Thanks. It really is small.
Great review, Rob!
Exellent review. Really informative. I appreciate that you always include features and compromises (pros and cons) of products you review.
Glad it was helpful!
This was a really helpful review of the new flash trigger. It's great to see companies continuing to innovate and make their flash systems even more portable and user-friendly.
Glad it was helpful!
You are on a video roll! Perhaps every day should be a Rob Trek day!
Let's not get carried away!
Nice review. I would consider the new mini trigger as a second trigger now that I have an idea how it works. Thanks.
Rob, thanks so much for this review/tutorial. I have one Godox flash and have been wanting to figure out their triggers and I think this one will be a gear starting point for me. I'm on the wait list at B&H Photo already. 🙂
It will probably be late June.
@@RobTrek Thanks!
I’ve had the Olympus on backorder since February at B+H. I was also intending for use on small MFT cameras.
I tried to get the OM version but it won't be available until late June at the earliest.
I've had the Olympus one on back order since early March, and looking forward to getting to play with it. Enjoyed your initial thoughts.
Thanks. I tried to get the OM version but it won't be available until late June at the earliest.
TY good vid - big oversight placing the dial on the RHS of the trigger - designers must be kicking themselves
Thanks.
Another reviewer used several guitar picks to open his, and found the battery has a connector to make it replaceable without any soldering. Not that anybody will be selling the exact batteries when that's needed, but Lithium Ions are pretty much a standard voltage, so at least there's that.
Good that it's not soldered. It makes it easier for those so inclined.
Nice, detailed video. Thank you.
I need some help please. Can we trigger Nikon SB700 flash with this? or do we need a Godox receiver for the flash?
It only works with other Godox flashes. You can get Godox receiver hot shoes to mount the SB700. amzn.to/4bMQMiZ
@@RobTrek ok Thank you, I will get one. 🙂👍
You know what I noticed? There is only 1 review on the new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18MM F4.0-5.6 II lens lol. it must be that 900.00 price tag
That, and that there is nothing new about it except the name.
@RobTrek guess it's more of a money grab. "It says Mark II so it has to be good!" [Gets the same lens]
I ordered the Flashpoint version for OM Systems in January. Alas, I still have not received it.
I tried to get the OM version but it won't be available until late June at the earliest.
hello I have a question about this trigger. Adorama store sells these products with different name, it calls Flashpoint and BHphotvideo sells with this name Godox X3. my question is , i have two flashpoint lights from Adorama one of them is godox AD200 PRO which in my case calls Flashpoint eVOLV 200 PRO AND Godox AD400 again in my case Flashpoint XPLOR 400 PRO. i bought from BH godox x3 trigger so i am curious will it work without any problem with Flashpoint lights which are basically the same product but branding standpoint different name
Yes. I use Flashpoint and Godox. They work together seamlessly.
My X3 C doesnt work with my el-5 cannon speed lite on my r6 mkii body . Is that an error or is it not supported?
The Godox X3 doesn't work with non-Godox flashes.
It is my understanding that you would need a Godox X1R-C receiver to attach to your Canon EL-5. Canon's wireless system is not even remotely compatible with anyone else's.
