    This is the exact same combo I recommend to people regularly. Kudos for not trying to upsell people on more than they need. I encourage the few extra bucks for the black cover like you gave a nod to, and an umbrella diffuser, because then you have shoot-through, shoot-in, and softbox in one affordable package.

    • @TaylorWillard
      @TaylorWillard  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ya it's a killer combo! Totally agree that the black cover and umbrella diffuser are a great next step. Thanks Seymoure!

    Thanks for the video! As a newbie trying to learn flash photography, just curious why you didn't put the umbrella on the right side, to fill in the light, since you had natural light coming in from the left? Is this not a good idea?

    • @TaylorWillard
      @TaylorWillard  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey great question! The flash I was using was overpowering the window light and I wanted to show what a one light set up could give you in any environment. If I had another light and wanted a less contrast look I could have added a light to both sides (or a bounce board) to fill in the shadows a bit. No a bad idea at all!

    This is a great beginner intro video! I was surprised to see all the equipment you suggested was 3xactly what I had already put together from other sources. The Godox X2T and TT685II are pretty amazing from their price tbh, as a beginner I really can get a good jump with practicing from this setup. That mount was also recommended from another channel specifically because it holds the lightso7rc3 in the center of the umbrella instead of toward the top, and that model is actually highly recommended on Amazon too, for a steal of a price. Good work, this is the perfect video to share with budding photographers!

    Wow, that was very helpful and easy to follow. I watch a TON of photography videos. You stand out by a long shot. You have a natural way of teaching and leading. I hope and would encourage you to make more videos. I'd love to see more videos around flash; if this is the budget set up, what does the upgrade look like, and the upgrade after that? How do you shoot different types of portraits (moody, cheerful, stoic, timeless, etc...). How do you get your clients to loosen up in front of your lens (posing, getting them to laugh, get them to feel natural, etc...). I'd love to hear how to shoot other studio work like products or food. I'd love to hear your workflow in editing your photos. I'd also love to hear about breaking into the photography industry; ideas on how to start, how to charge, and how to work your way up to bigger clients. Again, you have a real talent in explaining and walking the viewer through. I wish you the best and am subscribing to your channel.

    Great. I picked up something new. Adjusting the flash zoom to fit the umbrella. I usually don’t touch it. Thanks 👏🏽

    This is a very helpful video, and funny. I would have never thought to use a can of Natural Light in the intro.

    Great video. Can you share why you used an umbrella vs a soft box modifier?

    • @TaylorWillard
      @TaylorWillard  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! Ya, umbrellas are a little less complicated, portable, and budget friendly when you're just getting started. Soft boxes are great tools too, but for ease of use and getting people's foot in the door with using flash, you can't beat the umbrella!

    Really good one, new to the channel so there might already be one but how about a video about mixing daylight and flash light?
