    That’s right, LivinRVision may be selling their motorhome (Vinny)🚌, but they are having a hard time deciding what class/type RV to buy. Will they find the perfect RV? 🤔 Will a fifth wheel, class c, class a or travel trailer be the next LivinRVision choice?

    After 10 months living in Vinny, we are starting to feel like we need...ok maybe mostly Michelle...more bathroom space! 🚻🛁🚽 It would be nice to have something smaller and more simplified also...so many choices and all with their own pros and cons. What are hard decision! 😩😕

    Stick with Vinnie! Way better than any of those units you viewed. I would not want a gas coach due to the restricted cargo carrying capacity and towing capacity. Maybe a different Ventana with a better floor plan?

    5 years ago we purchased 2008 Holiday Rambler 33SFS Admiral, Workhorse Chassis. 8.1 engine with 6 Spd. Allison. We love the full wall slide, like living in Condo. At 65mph it cruises at 2100 rpm. We flat tow a Wrangler. Short comment is that it has been very reliable, Drive Train has been bullet proof. Biggest expenditure was completely redoing Chassis AC , Compressor Dryer, etc. New Tires routine maintenance We attend Hershey every year, have yet to see anything that we would want to replace it with. At 33feet we can pretty much take it into places that would be difficult for larger Coaches. Best part is just about paid for. The view from the window is the same as a Prevost. Yes, if I won the lottery, but I haven't yet. You have a very nice Coach. My wife and I believe for us when we finally do trade in the HR it will be for 32 to 34 foot diesel as the workhorse chassis is no longer made. It's what works for us. I agree with one of the comments here about the greener grass. I remind myself of that every year at Hershey.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of those older coaches were built very well. That’s why we went with an older coach as well. For us, it’s more about other deciding factors to make our current situation easier. We have found that ANY coach is not the best for our situation. We are going to be getting something that is easier for us to get video footage while driving (yes, it has hindered that for us) and easier getting into more places and the ability to back up without unhooking a toad which is part of that equation. We’ve been full time long enough now to realize what we need. One RV is not a “one size fits all”. Everyone has different needs and that’s what’s going to make our lives easier “for now”. But yea, those older coaches are built well. The gas doesn’t drive near as well as a DP, but again...that’s not always important to everyone. When Michelle finds something that she is more comfortable driving, then it will free me up to do more more for this channel which is our biggest concern. You just can’t imagine how important that really is. Hopefully we can find what we want soon. Thanks again for sharing, because your situation may be the answer for others. 🧡😊🤓

    I would never go from Diesel to Gas for so many reasons, but the the top 5 reasons would be; Steep depreciation because engine life span in not near the diesel, NO Engine Break, low Cargo/Water Capacity, lack of torque on mountain roads, Engine Noise/heat. Don't like they layout get a Diesel or 5er & new truck to pull it.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely concur with you. Originally we thought about the Newmar Canyon Star, which is the only gas coach that I would consider for full time BUT, a gas coach is out of the equation now for us. The ride between a DP vs a gas is night and day, but the Liquid Spring on the Tiffin does help...just not enough... IMO. Thanks so much for the feedback.

    • @jimgior
      @jimgior 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LivinRVision Also thought I'd mention - than on a trade in (at least in Arizona) you only pay tax on the difference between the trade and the purchase price, so factor that into any trade quotes you get - you could save thousands on a trade.

  • @richarde735
    @richarde735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Canyon Star, "it's Brian bathroom" I like the face Brian made. Bay Star, don't like the carpet in the cabin. I like the color scheme. Being full time I would skip the class C Jayco. Nice to hear your childhood memory story of RV travelling. Problem with most 5th wheel is the small space with slideouts in. But with slideout out they usually offer more room in kitchen & living area. But you need to factor the cost of a 1 ton dually diesel truck and you won't be able to tow anything. Airstream are overprice travel trailer, not my thing. I still prefer diesel pusher for the HP & Torque (more carrying and towing capacity). For $5K-10K you can go to a motorcoach company that can customize/modernize the interior of your coach (desk, bathroom, furniture, etc) Thanks for taking us along during your RV shopping.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    When looking at any motorhome or RV for full-timing - you MUST always ask what is the CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity). Some RV's have as little as only 1,000 pounds of CCC (which, by the way, must also include the driver and passenger - and sometimes what is in the fresh water and grey/black tanks). This is why many folks end up with a DP.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct, we are very aware of this. The CCC is not a concern for us. Thanks for sharing this for others to be aware of that don’t know this. There are many reasons why people choose to not get a DP though. It’s not all about the CCC for everyone. We love the DP, but as we have explained many times, we are wanting/needing to downsize.

    • @AWOLlcdrpeterson
      @AWOLlcdrpeterson 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LivinRVision copy that. Some Motorhomes are only made for tailgating or weekend excursions. You guys are knowledgeable and know the risks of overloading a motorhome. Too many RV's are being driven everyday without the knowledge of how much they weight and how much they should be carrying. There are way too many RV's that are way overloaded. Just because a storage space is there, doesn't mean that it is designed to haul bricks. lol.

    • @LivinRVision
      @LivinRVision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn’t test drive any yet, we’re simply just browsing for now. Heck, we couldn’t even get a salesman near us with the camera. 🤣 Which was perfect, we just wanted to look.
      Agree, about the grey/black tanks, however...we always fill the black tank with fresh water until it comes out completely clear anyway. You want/need to clean more than the hose. The black tank needs rinsed after each empty especially to keep the sensors clean and free of debris.

    Hey Brian, the Canyon Star is a good gas coach. I think you would want to upgrade suspension and power. My 2019 Outlaw 37RB is underpowered in the mountains, next i may install Banks Power Kit. I think you should cost compare Used Truck and 5th Wheel, it would probably work since you park for a few weeks at a time. If i could do over, my choice now would be 5th Wheel. However I am parked more and only traveling a few times a year. Good luck and sell your Newmar on your own, no trade ins.

      LivinRVision It’s definitely good that you are taking your time. How does your wife feel about driving a 5th’er Would she feel more comfortable over a Diesel Pusher? Also if more bathroom space is a priority, then going to small might not be a good option?? Have you checked out “Keep Your Day Dream” u-tube channel?? They share a lot of great info. With being full time and with Michelle working full time right now, it seems that one of the big priorities would be her comfort in a work space. If you both could get to the spot where Michelle was not working full time you might then be able to consider going much smaller?? There is another couple Marc and Julie With “RV Love”, they sold their newer Class A and bought and older one and remodeled to fit their working/traveling/style needs👍🏼😃. These are only my opinions and some channels that I follow that I thought might be a helpful reference-:) Can’t wait to see what you both decide on. Love following your channel❤️👍🏼😃

      Thanks for sharing...yes, we have considered all of this and Michelle is confident she would rather drive a diesel truck. Yep, KYD is who we followed from the very beginning. I still chat with Marc once in a while. All these things you share are good for others to hear as well. There is so much info out there anymore and it doesn’t take long when you live full-time to figure these things out too. The smallest we are looking at going to is an Airstream...BUT it’s for OUR lifestyle that the Airstream would work so well. There is not one single
      RV that is a one-size-fits-all. Thanks again for sharing our experience.

      This video was about 9 months ago now and things have changed. Don’t get me wrong, I personally like the DP much better for many reasons but I seriously doubt we will be going with either diesel or a gas Class A this time around. Our needs may be different than yours or others. We are looking for ease in many ways including turning around on a highway and pulling into a spot that doesn’t have a very big drive and is impossible for a big rig, less maintenance, ease for Michelle to handle by herself if needed and many more reasons we keep coming up with. It doesn’t take long living full time in an RV to know what matters most to you and your needs. 1 1/2 years full time so far and we now know what is most important to “us”. 😊🤓

I don't think calling a Class B Van qualifies as a "Rig," its not a 18 Wheeler. Is there some type of psychological perspectives that I don't understand. On the other hand Roy Roger's Side Kick, Pat Bradly had a name for his Jeep, remember "Nelly Bell."

      😂 Well…many of us don’t get why things like this bother people like yourself, to the point that they MUST say something.
      🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️
      “Rig” in the “RV world” seems to be another word commonly used for their “setup” or even “coach”. Why? Who knows and don’t care to pick it apart…sounds like another “Nick Name”…or is it, nickname? 🤪😉
      We loved Roy Roger’s and his “rig”, Nelly. 😂
