This video is about a family emergency and why we are so grateful to be full time RVing. What do you do when you live full time in an RV and you get the news you never want to hear? Was it beneficial to us that we were full time RVing?

We really appreciate all the thoughtful comments. This was such a hard time and for some reason, we all never seem to believe that this day would ever come. This was a reality check for both of us for sure! First, Michelle loses her father before we were living full time on the road and now I (Brian) lose my father while we are living full time on the road. This was another real eye opener! Hopefully sharing this with you will make a difference in your life. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. 🧡

Just came across this video and want to give my condolences. My brother passed away 2 years ago from cancer and I was working full time at the office. It was a stressful job and I wasn’t able to be there for my brother, but his wife took great care of him. I really don’t think he wanted me to be around him , seeing him in pain. Last year I quit my job so that I can help my folks who are in their 90’s with doctor appointments, errands, groceries, etc. Again, it is stressful with no income and too young for retirement, but at least I am here for them when I am needed. Love you guys and enjoy your videos. God bless you and keep you safe in your adventures. 🙏💗

I have been going through your older videos and saw this lovely tribute to your father, almost a year from when you posted it. I'm sure you miss him still, always. What a wonderful gift you gave him and yourself that you put him before everything else. I know from experience that it matters how you handle life's endings. You can go forward with bittersweet memories of a job well done, Brian. My grandmother would have said you earned an angel wing.

How ironic that you sent this sweet message around the very same time I was having a memory of my father and having a hard time. Bless you and your grandmother for reaching out to send a message from my dad. 🧡

I am so blessed to have discovered you both while searching for TH-cam RV travel videos. I am not an RVer and probably won’t ever be, but I love watching the places you visit and your frequent hilarious dialogues. I’m contemplating buying a tent that can be attached to my Jeep so I can travel and not have to spend money for motel rooms. It’s not beyond me to tent and did this when I was younger.Sharing your father’s end of life experience was tear jerking for me. I was able to care for my father with home hospice while on leave from my nursing position. I am a disabled oncology/ hospice RN. I know you were so thankful to be able to go home for an extended period of time for this family emergency due to your employment situations. God bless you both for sharing the public audience this sacred time in the your lives. How special…❤️

I was in tears watching this video. I went though the same thing caring for my dad at the end. It is a hard thing to see a parent decline and pass away. I went and put flowers on my dad's grave the other day, it was the first time in four years that I was able to put flowers on his grave, and not cry, this time. I hope you are doing ok. It shows we loved our dads.

You’re so right, very hard. I can understand what you’re saying, it’s been just over 2 years and I still cry when I say prayers to him. We’re so sorry you had to go through that as well. Michelle lost her dad 5 years ago this month. He was also such a good man and missed so very much. Thank you and we hope you are doing well also.

I’m so sorry you guys. Definitely been there.
I did enjoy seeing Mt. Rainer as my folks lived there for many years. I even went up and worked for them for a year.
I would step out the front door each morning, look down the street and raise my coffee cup to Rainer.
Again, I’m sorry for your loss. Parents are tough to let go of. 💙

We are new to your channel and are working our way through your videos. This one was very painful. You were blessed to spend quality time with your dad until he went to heaven. My 94 year old mom was a tough cookie but heart problem plagued her last months. Worse, Covid shut down her facility and her children could not visit. That was the last straw for her. She was alone with the angels when she finally joined her beloved husband. It’s been a few years now since your dad and my mom passed but our love and gratitude will never pass away.

I look you stories, I just came across this story. It hit home.
I lost my mom one week ago. Covid put her in hospice for 90 days. Then 3 months later she had a brain bleed, recovered. Then 4 weeks she had a heart attack, tried a procedure, during this she had another heart attack that took her life. It was very hard but we know she was ready and is with our Dad and our heavenly father.
The reason I am commenting is my Mom was also from Northwest Iowa. A small town called Aurelia, which is near Storm Lake and Cherokee. So when you said Northwest Iowa I was very courteous as to which town/city you are talking about. I still have cousins in that area.
Thanks for all the great content. ❤️😃🙏❤️😃🙏❤️😃🙏

When someone says something like you have, that it has helped (in any way), that makes all the difference. We’re so sorry for the loss of your dad as well. They say time will heal all, but I don’t think we will ever quit hurting. However, I do know that knowing they are still with us in the subtle ways they try to tell us, is very comforting. 🧡🧡

I know nothing helps at a time like this but be grateful that you were able to spend time with your dad before he passed and that he didn't suffer too long, my dad was 88 when he passed, yes that is old, but it was really hard to watch him suffer, he lived his last year not knowing what was going on around him and bed bound, Im glad your dad didn't suffer too long. Just watched the video. So sorry about your dad (and Michelle's). I lost my dad to cancer when he was 45. Deb lost her dad to alzheimers when he was 82. Deb and I cherish every moment we have with each other, and our children and grandchildren. We chose this life so we could be together more, enjoying the things we like together. The "connection" between the 2 of you is obvious in your videos. Thank you for sharing this personal moment with us (even though I cried).

😥😥 I’m not sure if you read any of these comments but I hope you do. I’ve watched these rv videos from full timers for about three years now. We purchased our fith wheel last year to hopefully go almost full time. My dad took a bad turn with his stage four lung cancer and then a stroke. Needless to say I’m all he has so I needed to stay home with him. So far he has pulled through but I’m with him every single day because I’m afraid that there’s not many left. Your story has let me know I’m for sure doing the right thing and considering I’m only 53 I still will have time. I truly thank you for your honesty and I’m very sorry for you but your dad was very lucky. From the video I can see the bond you had and that’s where I’m at with my father. Thank sir and god bless you.

Hi Nathan. Yes, we personally read every single comment. First, let me start by expressing how very sorry we are to hear that your father is going through this. We’re also so sorry that you are feeling such pain, but yet so glad you are blessed to be there with him.
Thank you so much for sharing your story.with us. This meant so much to me to hear my story touched your heart and meant so much to you. I too am 53 and I am not ashamed to say, but proud to say that I still cry at least once a day when I look at my dads picture every morning and night and say a prayer. You are most certainly doing the right thing. I am SO thankful I got the time I did with my father to care for him and I know it will mean the world to you as well. Stay strong my brother and hopefully we will meet someday soon and share some campfire stories. 😊🧡

Brian Thank you, Thank you for sharing your life through the passing of your Dad. I am going through this right now with my Uncle who also has pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed about a month ago. He is very much an important part of my life. At this point we are told he has about a week left. This is so very, very hard. You sharing your life with your Dad using your videos has been a tremendous help - thank you so much.
I'm very sorry for your loss. Your dad seemed to be a very special man and your love for him shined through the obvious pain. God bless both of you. Husbands and wives don't get through things like this without the others love.

Thank you for your message. We are so very sorry to hear of your uncles diagnosis. Our hearts ache for the pain you are going through. We certainly hope that this did indeed help in any way possible and has not caused you more pain through the sadness I’m sure it caused watching this. I debated whether or not to make this video, then something made me feel that it was important to share, as it may help others. I miss my dad so much and still can’t go a day without looking at his picture, saying a prayer and tearing up. We will be keeping your uncle, you and family members in our prayers through this difficult time. I’m sure your love for him is filling his heart and he will carry that with him after and he will find a way to let you know he is okay.

Sorry for your loss Brian. I know this video is almost 9 months old but I was moved to comment and express my sympathies. I too was able to help my Mom while she declined and passed away. I was lucky that at the time, my employer was so accommodating and allowed me to work remotely from her house so I could be with her to help her any way I could for several months. It was a lot of work and very hard to watch her decline but I am so grateful and glad that I was able to be there with her to the very end.
