I have to thank you two and Dexter for the laughs and being so real. I’m in a very dark period of life. Just buried my lifetime RVer companion (my Dad). In 2011 lost Mom 2011then my husband 11 months in 2012 later.
The 4 of
Us have owned every type trailer, RV, 5th wheels and been to 47 state, every state park and so much more. Life was so good for over 27 years. After Mom and Ron (husband) past. Dad wanted to sell our houses in Central California and move back to Northern Minnesota (where we originated from). We packed up my toy hauler, Dads Dura Max and my Toyota RAv 4 with everything we needed to start a stationary life on 6 acres on the Canadian & USA 🇺🇸 border (Ice box of the Nation) this was Dad end of life dream to be in the county farming. I retired to take care of Dad.
The second day on the road in Butte Montana, we did the squat around (checked everything) and hit the road, Dad in front of me. As we hit Hwy 80 headed up over the Rockies, I noticed the trailer swaying (out of control) as Dad floored it pulled out to pass an 18 wheeler. I looked down to grab the radio to tell him to “pull it over” when I looked up- it looked like a bomb went off! I was screaming 🙀 “No Lord not my Dad” and it was my Dad. The right rear tire on the truck came off the bead and threw the truck, trailer Dad and one of our fur dogs completely over and land on all four tires a complete roll over! I like you guys am a first responder (but never thought I would be responding to my Rock (Dad) in the middle of an interstate. It was horrific! He broke his C1, T2,T3, the top of his head was in his lap (there was so much blood, I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. The trailer and all our belongings were in toothpick’s up and down the Hwy for 5 miles (the State Trooper told me). I did my job (in shock) until EMS tapped me on my shoulder and asked if they could relieve me! Then I went and threw up!
That was eight years ago, we put Dad back together and lived the farming freezing winters in International Falls Minnesota. He had a great life. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever made a decision in my life without him. Ts been 4 months now, first time ever living alone and all I want to do is take my Chevy 2500HD, get another trailer and get back to Central California (by Lake Tahoe).
I have a huge anxiety of doing it alone, and in a travel trailer again! It’s the only style I think I can afford.
Thank you for sayin “take small bites of the elephant” because I’m so overwhelmed with a farm to pack up, sell and move! I actually don’t know what the lord has in store for me. I feel completely lost everyday, every minute. Have no one to help me, as catering for Dad took 24/7/365 so I haven’t met people, found a church nothing and now I just want out of this ice box.
Watching you guys makes me laugh, cry and even giggle through the snot and tears, I so relate to so many of your adventures and experiences.
I pray constantly and still talk to my whole family and the dogs in heaven how. Bella the dog that went through the roll over, past too, her spleen got ripped up.
It’s been a roller coaster of a ride the bad 10 years.
No regrets and would do it lol over again. But looks like I will have to be doing it solo.
Really wanted to share with you and let you know the 3 of you are in my prayers now and thank you again for the smiles and. Memories.

I grew up in eastern NC and, for me, dinner is what you have on Sundays after church - Sunday dinner. Supper is your evening meal every day other than Sunday.
That’s right in my neck of the woods - Southwest Virginia. And chocolate is a great stress reliever so indulge.

I grew up (Midwest northerner) with breakfast, lunch, and supper or dinner. Brunch was what you ate when you were combining breakfast and lunch. My grandma (farm) said dinner was either lunch OR supper, whichever was the biggest meal of the day.

Woodstove install is the next modification to make along with suspension lift and bigger tires. Looking forward to more great vids from you two!

Wrong! A travel trailer is NOT a Vehicle that you can drive. An RV has an ICE powertrain to move the bus-like vehicle. A travel trailer (bumper pull or fifth wheel) does not.

Probably time to winterize ‘Cousin Eddie’ and planning small weekend trips next year. Then come September 3 weeks out west (bucket list). Mt Rushmore, Custer Park, Roosevelt Park, Yellowstone, Grand Teton. Just cant wait.

We actually had to drop our camper off to have a recall done and we only had to empty the fridge and clothes which was a pain in the rear. At least we have our sticks and bricks to go to. Cannot imagine the stress level you guys are having right now. Hope you are back in your camper soon. Hugs to you all😊

After 40 years of RVing I’m still learning. Wife was complaining about freezer space and canned drinks taking up fridge space, as we have upgraded but down sized the RV. Moved the drinks to a Pelican cooler, but then I needed ice. Two small cube trays were in the freezer and still taking up space. So went to Costco and bought a small ice maker. Foot print about the size of a shoe box. Starts making ice in 8 minutes, 23 lbs a day if managed. So no more trays in freezer, no cooler, more space in freezer, $99, and near instant ice.
Wow! Sounds like we need to renew our Costco membership 😎🙌🏼 we could go for some near instant ice! I can’t believe you guys have been RVing for over 40 years! You guys must have so much experience 😀

@@HappilyEverHanks We are at our first "work camp" gig...we are volunteering for FL state parks in Fakahatchee Preserve till the end of Dec. We're taking a little break and enjoying being useful. Dave has mad skills on a tractor and they love him here. Plus he only has to give 20 hrs a week and we're about 45 minutes east of Naples so we have plenty of time for fun. We will travel vicariously thru you till the end of the year!😎👍

We were out of our home for two months as repairs were being done. We did not have to move eveything and the service center (Luxe) allowed us to do check ups and get things if we needed them.
It does suck not having your home, but it made us appreciate our rig once we got it back!

We have a 31' Forest River Flagstaff Classic Super Lite Tow behind, We are retired and don't RV full time but do camp 5-6 times every season. Being from Virginia, The cold sets in in Oct. and lasts till the end of April. Keep making those videos, We love ya'll.

@@HappilyEverHanks I recently spent several days camping at Buchanan Dam in Burnett, TX followed by a week at Lake Nasworthy in San Angelo, TX. In two weeks I will be spending 9 days camping at Fort Pillow State Park in TN an hour north of Memphis.

Only part-time but we hope to maybe one day go full time! We love being out! There are a lot of places we have never been. Namely, anywhere North! Lol. West Virginia is the farthest we’ve ever gone together and it was not in an RV. It was in a Minivan with 4 kids and a cat! It was an adventure though. ☺️💜

Although, I am an avid hiker , love the outdoors , love road trips, but never in an RV...so this is my motivation to take this journey, ...and, I am retiring which is my other motivator to hit the road. You have inspired me to make an RV "Check" checklist (like Nene) I love lists, and I make them before I go on any road trip in my car! LOL!!!! :D
