A lot of these techniques didn't have common names back in the 2000's but we knew them. I really needed a refresher though, combining these elements is how you win duels!
I'm trying to master the moves but I'm not seeing a pattern the enemies follow. It seems completely random. And that I just have to spam the attack button until something happens.
Since childhood, I would, every now and then, play Academy/Outcast on my computer and just play lightsaber-only combat with bots on a 30-minute timer. Awesome bite-sized sessions, always loved it. I can't believe that many of the techniques in this video are things I've done, innately from just playing the game and experimenting. I even learned some new things, too. Thanks for posting! They don't make 'em like they used to.
@@BMmasta27 congrats on your efforts. I don't own a console copy of Jedi Academy but I have been interested in trying it out. I have heard the switch community in particular is very dedicated and even with the limitations of Nintendo they still carry the torch of competitive Jedi Academy. Unfortunately I don't have the funds for a recorder for Switch at the moment so I can't upload content like I can with PC or even PS4.
Hi Ive played this with my nephew a lot a decade ago and Im wondering what mods do I download and servers to join to get in the scene? I just cant get enough once I install it lol so I might as well play and try competitively
nice tip about doing single swings! however, circle step is not a thing, you have more chances of dodging the enemy saber if you simply run straight away from it than when you do such small circles like this. Strafe running is not so useful either since the shortest distance between two points is a straight line and by turning slowly you run in a curve
@@Mon3yman228 No my name was either Empari, Triroa, or something like that. I don't really remember much, I was around 12 or 13 at the time haha. The clan was SnJ or similar.

I just got back into the game after so many years and i'm glad people are doing tutorial videos like this. I hope this will bring more players to JA.

@@trekoxgaming2 Welcome to the Academy mate! :P
From playing i found that yellow stance works best for me and I usually switch to blue for blaster deflection and red for battering defenses.
I’m learning the ways of a Nintendo switch Jedi. These are perfect.

@@Mon3yman228 Ah that's what it was. They were two different clans/groups and I always mixed them up lol
Am I the only one who had no idea that I should do this and just clicking furiously at the opponent??

Usually yes, I hold the attack button down.

This shit is possible but difficult on Xbox
dont call yourself a jedi, using cheap tactics like this
