For ex: They would say things like: don't date that dude, he just cheated on his last girlfriend. On the comedy show 3rd rock (I believe it was) there was this obese older mail man and he was in love with this tall lanky blonde woman(she was brilliant brain wise) so he would do things to make her think she was inadequate in everything b/c he didn't want her to go anywhere except be with him and he didn't feel good enough about himself or that he deserved her. Because she looked like this tall beautiful model female compared to his short dumpy self. And she'd always dote on him and talk about her horrendous look and how sex and hot he was and every woman wanted him. Which was hystericall funny. So I think men do this when they're in awe of you and want you as a wife but seriously feel they don't deserve you b/c you're too good for them so they have to humble you to rationalize and justify why you two should be together and that means being on your level or higher then you to feel like the man and make you dependent on them. I noticed how he appeared to be fearful and anxious when she rejected him and was about to move on. So he started another argument to get her attention. They're still the same boys they were in elementary school who would have a crush on a girl and pull her pigtails or play fight her and act like a frenemy and always try to hang around her. Dote on her but then yell at her or try to fight her or control her. It's in their nature. 🙄
