Yeah I had this back in 2009. I literally slept on the bathroom floor for 4 days so on top of all of that imagine the worst muscle and joint pain ever. I didn't have the energy to make it back to bed but even if I had, I wouldn't have been able to run into the bathroom fast enough to avoid leaving a trail of diarrhea in my wake. I was 100% ready to die. It would have been a relief. Thankfully I was introduced to a miracle supplement and I haven't had so much as a sniffle since then. I used to get sick every year. I never even got COVID.
The worst I ever had it back in 2015 (picked it up during a medic assist call where the patient had it), it was coming out of every opening! And I do mean _every_ opening-I was actually puking out my _nose_ too! I know, way too graphic, but that is something that has never happened to me before or since! I was flat on my back for three days after the vomiting subsided, and running at half-power for another ten days after all the nasty symptoms started. I’ve already had a serious hatred of norovirus because I was _always_ the one to catch it when my kids brought it home from school, but this little episode took my norophobia to the next level!
Lucky for me, I usually just have nausea when I get it, which is about every other year or so when it goes thru our building. I feel awful, I throw up a few times, but then it’s over in 12-24 hours….except for that year I got it from my niece, who had just started preschool. It hit me suddenly, like a freight train, and I spent the night in the bathroom, praying for death. The next day I spent exhausted in bed during a vicious nor’easter which just about ripped our roof off…we were on the water and probably should have evacuated, it was that bad, but I was so sick I just didn’t care.
Doesnt help the alot of parents dont teach their kids how to wash their hands (im not a teacher but I’ve just noticed anytime im in a public restroom they hardly make them and when they do its half assed)

Norovirus outbreaks happen every year in the wintertime. It’s known as the stomach flu but that’s misleading because it spreads mostly through surfaces and food. That’s why you always wash your hands after using the bathroom, before eating, before touching your face, and know that hand sanitizer doesn’t work. Three weeks ago I took care of a patient at my hospital with norovirus. He pooped out 14 liters of loose stool in a 12-hour shift for me. The doctor had to order a rectal tube for him. Norovirus is not a joke guys. Bleach wipe everything you touch and perform really good hand hygiene.
This virus has been going on for months. My entire family had it a few months back and the stomach pains that radiated to the back feeling like kidney issues that lasted a month. Hospital said all test back came back fine? I think honestly since covid that hospitals and doctors offices know it’s going around already and it’s not made known so people are not getting scared and panicking. Seems like even though these illnesses been around for years they are getting worse and elevated in different ways now. We need to clean our environment.
They will keep these viruses going, stay healthy stay safe. Fruits vegetables water and clean hands, wear a mask when you go out. When you’re in a store you never know if someone just coughed or was sneezing in the area and then you walk right into it, and get sick.
It isn't spread through coughing or sneezing,*however* you can catch it if you inhale aerosolized particles of vomit or feces. So, masking actually can help, although obviously you're much likelier to catch it through the oral-fecal route (you touch something after someone who has been sick and pick at your teeth, grab a bite to eat without washing your hands first, etc.).
Please keep these things on hand. Being able to treat things at home either while you wait for EMS or to prevent the illness from being bad enough to have to go to the hospital. Even if you never ever use them and the medical system in your area works like a charm it's so so important to have it as an option. I'm assuming you make sure to have less contact with other people (store shopping, eating at restaurants/ordering fast food, school, seeing friends etc.) and make sure to always wash your hands with soap and water
Wash your hands. I avoid eating out/take out from about October through April. If you have kids at school, chances are they aren't washing their hands before eating, or if they are, they are not doing it right before eating (for example, last child out turns out the light--now they no longer have clean hands). Don't rely on hand sanitizer. Make sure your dentist actually washes their hands before getting in your mouth. Amazing how many of them just use sanitizer and call it good. Don't consider the outside packaging of your food clean. It's kind of a pain to consider/do all of this, but *knock on wood* we have never had a stomach bug in our house and I'm a parent. I trained my spouse and my kid to be careful. 😂
Oh and also... Your phone is disgusting. If you wouldn't lick your phone, then don't use it and then eat with your hands. Basically, if I touch anything that I wouldn't want to put my mouth on (doorknob, my phone, the restaurant menu, my steering wheel, you get the idea), then I wash my hands before I touch food. We also have a house rule that hands get washed whenever we come in and before we do anything else. We also don't wear shoes in the house.
I’m pretty sure I had norovirus last year. I somehow managed to make it into an urgent care after suffering for over 12 hours and was able to get zofran. She said that if the zofran didn’t work that I would have to go to the ER.
I got norovirus as a teen & you can get dehydrated quick between diarrhea, vomiting, & trying to stay hydrated just for it to come back out. It’s pretty bad.
Hmm a super resistant bug that is suddenly going around that was "around for ages" but hasnt been in the news. Almost like its being tinkered with in a lab to be more deadly.
It's in the news every year. They have outbreak at schools, churches, etc. every year. Most people have had it, but they just didn't know it had a name. Had it as a kid when it swept thru school. Had it again in college. We had one Thanksgiving where one family brought it in, then everybody got it. It's not usually deadly at all except for those with an underlying issue where their body is already run down or those that get dehydrated. Then you go to the ER and they give you IV fluids.
Silly comment! If the government really wanted you dead than you’d be dead. There’s so many ways to go about it, it’s not even funny. The food that you eat is already sorayed with so many pesticides and chemicals.
Make sure to stay well hydrated with pedialytes as you are loosing minerals because vomiting will cause dehydration and loss of essential minerals . It’s probably circulating in your family. She gave some suggestions what to do as far as cleaning the surface. Keep your immune system strong and take your D3 and Magnesium, K2, Zinc.

I had this. idk how but no one else in my house got it thankfully. It’s awful I don’t wish it on my worst enemy.
I’ve been feeling bad with chills on my legs, arms and back. I thought it was the beginning of flu but not congestion. It’s like a weak fatigue feeling. I don’t know if this is. But good to know
This has been around forever! I am so grateful my children are older! Fall through spring one of us was sick with something.
It got me, knocked me out, missed 3 days of work.
My girlfriend had this and she wasn't able to keep water down. We actually had to take her to hospital to get hydrated.
I got this right now. It’s awful
I had it last year and i was driving!!!
You DON'T want it!!!
The sickness causes bouts of driving? That's not good.
It drives you to get to a bathroom in the most urgent way possible before you have an accident. Both personal and car🤢💩🚗💥
@@HBKshowstopper Well then I better prepare myself by eating tons of Taco Bell, White Castle and McDonald's frappes. I need to make those holding muscles stronger!
Smh not again.

It’s the worst to watch your toddler/baby with this.
@wewhoareabouttodiesaluteyo9303 thank you so much I always have spelling problems
@victoriakenney2848 it's is and is strange because their last for one or two day the most but this this around its was almost a week
@@missestela786 same! My 2 year old had it a week ago.
Great, simple and concise good information! May you and yours...Be In Good Health.
I never heard of it before! It sounds dreadful! 😰
Most people call it the stomach flu. But, it's not a flu at all. It's been around forever.
I'm sure you've heard of and experienced the stomach flu. That's what it is.
I’ve had it several times, worst was when I was about 14, I was running into the bathroom every 10 minutes for over 12 hours, just brutal
Well this would explain a lot about last weekend...
Hand washing is the single best way to prevent the spread of infection.
Wash You Hands.
Not again 🤬🤦🏻♂️
Me in a full body suit, mask n gloves cooking for my kids

I got it last month. It was horrible
I went from 181lb to 167.4lb in less than a week. Yesterday was the first time I could eat 3 small meals
How long did it last?
Lovely I’m reading comments that some people had it for a week. I’m on day 2. Hopefully I’m not sick that long.
I had it. Twice and lost 15 pounds in a week because everything came out of me including water. It's no joke.
Dose it mimic listeria
I think I had this like a week or two ago, I had all of the symptoms-
And you probably infected 20 people lol
This may explain my diarrhea this morning.
Right on time
The thumbnail looks like candy from the Wonka Factory
😂😂
You forgot to say nursing homes and facilities
Is there a way to avoiding it
I'm assuming you make sure to have less contact with other people (store shopping, eating at restaurants/ordering fast food, school, seeing friends etc.) and make sure to always wash your hands with soap and water
God help us
I’m pretty sure I had norovirus last year. I somehow managed to make it into an urgent care after suffering for over 12 hours and was able to get zofran. She said that if the zofran didn’t work that I would have to go to the ER.
Literally had it this week, the best part of the virus, the blisters on my butt from having to wipe 300 times a day 😭🔥
Very interesting this is getting around so quickly
Stay safe everyone
How much you wanna bet this will "peak" in the 4th quarter of 2024?
Mail in voting only.
I got norovirus as a teen & you can get dehydrated quick between diarrhea, vomiting, & trying to stay hydrated just for it to come back out. It’s pretty bad.
I've never had it, I known people that experienced this illness and was told it was awful. Hope to never get it.
i got norovirus THE POOP KEPT COMEING and i was like OH NO BRO IM NEVER GONNA BE DONE AEAEAEAEAEAEAE
Exactly
💯.
Oh ffs.
Silly comment! If the government really wanted you dead than you’d be dead. There’s so many ways to go about it, it’s not even funny. The food that you eat is already sorayed with so many pesticides and chemicals.
I just got over it and now my husband has it! THE worst stomach flu ever! It took me 3 days to recover and my appetite is not back.
My whole family is vomiting is there anything we can do
Make sure to stay well hydrated with pedialytes as you are loosing minerals because vomiting will cause dehydration and loss of essential minerals . It’s probably circulating in your family. She gave some suggestions what to do as far as cleaning the surface. Keep your immune system strong and take your D3 and Magnesium, K2, Zinc.
Oh I frickin knew it!! My whole family threw up around me BUT I NEVER DID!! I was greatfully fine never threw up or got diarrhea,.. was crazy!!! This is spreading badlyy around…
How did you avoid it?! My dad has it right now and I’m so scared I’m gonna catch it too😭
The next deadly breakout for a another global pandemic
My mom had it bad a few weeks ago be careful everyone
I got this in Japan last year and boy I was out for a couple days
i had a bad case of diarrhea after eating chef boy ar dee ravioli years ago. sat on the toilet all day
Is that relevant 😭😭😭
So it's a virus that keeps you in the bathroom for a few days? Sounds like lunch at Taco Bell.
I was hospitalized with it and it was THE WORST ILLNESS I'VE EVER had! I had to actually call an ambulance I was so sick! I was in the hospital for SIX DAYS, and wasn't sure if I would LIVE, and when I was released the doctor said the same! 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I had to go to the hospital 5 times because of this! They didn't know what it is and told me to take Zorfan until the sickness went through. I was at an inch of my life. Extreme vomiting, extreme diarrhea. Please be very careful!
It’s awful having it as a family with 3 little ones and both husband and I are also sick with it!
I got this a couple weeks ago. I was wondering if I got it from oysters.
this is basically like getting your period this is what we ladies do for a week every month. constantly on the toilet with diahrrea PLUS cramps
I was saying the same thing, I go through this every month
Omg i was going through this for 2 days at work . Had diarrhea problem through the whole day smhh
Sorry not the same by any means!
@@kristysantiques14 you probably haven't had period pains as bad as others. Some of us are going thorough the most on our periods.
@@nthabisengsello6428right so maybe for some not for all women. That was my point.
Hey Dr Igudia ! Thanks for your work on my HSV case. I couldn’t have done this without your help. You were awesome at my checkpoint! I couldn’t thank you enough. Appreciate that you help me stay healthy. God bless you Dr Igudia
Wash your hands everyone and stay hydrated!
Thank you for telling everyone that what we should already know!! Wash you hands!!!! Drink pleanty of water I am not a doctor but it is common sense but then again people do not have common sense!!!
I never heard of this
You've never heard of the stomach flu? Because that's what it is.
My sister and nieces had this for literally 24hrs.
1:25 She is suggesting Gatorade as a treatment 😂 She can't be a real doctor. I suggest drinking coconut water or just plain water for hydration.
After a trip to Disney ( several several pounds gained) I got it the last day. Sickest I’ve ever been. To this day I call it “the Disney diet” because I got so sick I lost prob 15 lbs. passed out several times just couldn’t be worse. If you have it stock up on electrolytes asap and get to it
I have it, and every time I go to throw up and I throw up 5 different times while in there, leading to dry heaves where you're throwing up buy there's nothing left so it feels like you're forcing everything out
