Your African series and this China series are very enjoyable to watch. 5 stars. I like your travel vlogs more than your other stuff. Because you're a well cultured and travelled person, and understand the nuances of differences in culture.
I dont usually do comment like these but i have to say that as child of chinese immigrants, youre china series is absolutely fantastic. Everything is so perfect, from the humor to the tension and emotions. The editing is fantastic and i wish that you can continue the series for a long time. I am absolutely thrilled to discover my country this way. Well done
I recently watched several videos about a hornet hunter life in Chinese TikTok, this job is actually a bit more advanced than I imagined. Normally they would put some baits in certain areas, then the hunters will put a tiny label to the wild hornets when they are eating the meat bait (Yes the hornets are omnivores). Once the hornets are done with eating, they will fly back to the wild nests in the forests, and hunters will use drones to locate the labels, so that they can have an idea where the nests are. Then hunters will put on the jackets and harvest the nests (just like what you see in this video). Usually the hunter I watch on TikTok would use Baijiu (Chinese distilled spirits, Peter drank it in previous video) to drown the hornets. It may sound kinda cruel to these hornets, but wild hornets are extremely dangerous and harmful for bee farmers by killing thousands of bees. Also like Peter says it’s seriously fatal, in the videos I watched, 2 old ladies got killed at home as the hornets just followed them back to house, and she just happened to pass by a countryside road where hornets nested. It’s so sad to watch that short video that the family was still crying for the losses, and the hunters agreed to help them took down the nests for free of charge. So guys be safe, stay away from these wild hornets, absolutely no jokes.
Parts of Yunnan was very impoverished historically, so they needed to get protein from every single source they could, including (but not limited to) all kinds of bugs and of course, these things.
I think the most likely reason is they saw some Eagle kept hunting for these nests so they decided to try themselves. Also people who say they did it because there was no food is BS. If they are hungry they wont spend that much energy just to get a few grams of protein. This is the kind of stuff you do when you have too much free time.
Living for this series. I went back and watched your Africa series too and they’re my favorite things in the world. 💜💜💜 yall give me the same feeling as when I was a kid watching zaboomafoo
I have spheksophobia too and people laugh at me for it, becase im panicking if i see a wasp or hornet. Its very annoying that i can not enjoy nature like others do.
I don't think it's fair to say that fear of hornets is a phobia, who isn't afraid of something that can kill you? It's like saying I have a phobia of serial killers
Spiders aren't deadly (most of them) yet many people have arachnophobia.. It's not just because a hornet can kill that people are automatically afraid of it, it could also be because of their size, sound and/or quick movement. Spheksophobia is real just like other phobias. Also.. Comparing a hornet with a specific type of human being is just stupid.
I definitely have arachnophobia but does that mean that I have this phobia because I'm scared that they're deadly? No absolutely not. We don't even have dangerous spiders where I'm from. Hope you can understand my arguments. With respect.
Brother, what you need to know is that in the long years of mankind, countless people have been attacked by this wasp, and their bitter cries have been etched in their genes, telling future generations to stay away from this stuff, so that later people will be afraid whenever they see it. The desire to escape, it's inscribed in the genes, so people can live more safely@@n1mand
I LOL'ed when you cut the panic attack scene with footage of Bruce Springsteen singing "I'm Going Down". As a lifelong die hard Springsteen fan, I highly approve.
Hey pppeter i bought your book and said that im gonna travel to which ever country i get a flag inside , and im glad i got the maldives and not togo or some other place in africa😂
Great video man. You're crazy but damn it's a good video. It took balls of pure titanium to do what you did and you have so much of my respect and admiration for facing your fears. We never really appreciate where we get some of our resources and to know and see first hand where these things come from is amazing. Thank you so much for making this video. FYI For your next video, you should go see how they (the Chinese) farm salmon and lobsters in the desert. hehehe
Big props for facing your fears, I'm questioning if the young guy perceives it as dangerous as how we perceive it from afar. Like for us doing sth dangerous for example roofers working on houses seems like a 5/10 compared to clearing murder hornet nests being a straight 10/10 on danger level. So would that guy also rate clearing hornet nests as 10/10, or is it so normalized for him already that it's like a chill 5/10 for him.
I watched ALL of your videos, but this one, i didn't finish watching! I'f been hauntend and stunged by a asian hornet and still have nightmares! So thanks for the discount!
Have you seen the video of that guy who puts a cup with wire coiled around inside, up against a bee hive? Changes the pitch lower and it sounds like people talking to each other.
So glad I don't have this fear. I DO have a healthy respect for the Asian Murder Hornet however! And I also suffer from severe open acrophobia. On an airplane, no worries. On an open bridge, walking over the sidewalk of the same bridge I drive over every day, I am paralyzed with fear even though i KNOW there's no possible way I could fall over. Phobias are funny things.
That's not an electric car, it's a gasoline car from GWM, which is famous for its cost-effective gasoline SUVs and is sold in Australia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
You got balls of steel my man, I have arachnophobia and I can't imagine myself in the same situation, even with protection I wouldn't come close to a swarm of spiders, fuck this shit.
Hello! I'm a fan of yours from China, and I absolutely adore your TH-cam videos. May I share your videos on Chinese video platforms? I'll include your video link and name in the video description.Looking forward to your reply! Thank you!
It might not take your phobia away. Still you know you can get through it. So it has made you stronger But yes its insane to risk your life for a relatively small amount
While these hornets have only been found (and eradicated) on the West Coast of Canada to date, climate models show that southern Canada is well-suited to host them should they get past the Rocky Mountains or be accidentally introduced.
Very grateful for your china series, its truly incredible
Your African series and this China series are very enjoyable to watch. 5 stars. I like your travel vlogs more than your other stuff. Because you're a well cultured and travelled person, and understand the nuances of differences in culture.
Agreed. The two best series on the channel so far. I only find one third of the comedy videos funny. Travel vlogs are quality.
Ohh cmon I am dying for some Worst reviewed episodes. Him and Vlad are really good comic duo!
I might be biased here (being Chinese myself) but this is honestly the best series he has produced yet
ALL content he makes is so much exceptional and so much effort
I missed you Sir. Gaylord ❤️
🤣🤣🤣
you mean Sir Plowhead?

Great vid again. Always watching with a big smile!
I didn't know that I can feel pain through a video
You are super brave to face your fears, and it is very interesting to see the habits and traditions of other cultures.
Bro who tf was like “here is a nest of death, I will eat the little eggs” ☠️

Chinese eat everything
There where so poor in china the eat everything they can..

@tristanlwkns That's my point, a phobia should be irrational, most spiders are not lethal. All Hornets will kill you or at least cause extreme pain.
@@visekual6248 But he was in a suit so they cant do anything to him, so it's irrational.^^

Criminally underrated.
I legitimately had to check around my room to make sure the hornets didn't fly out from my screen. The immersion from the camera recording is surreal.
