Really dig your truck. I too am trying to keep the OEM plus look. The biggest upgrade would be the tune I won from you. I suggest you looking into the blackout turn signals for the mirrors. Subtle but makes the truck look so much better.

Nice content, I bought 23 Trd Pro to avoid doing anything to the truck and keep it stock. The only thing i added was light rocks sliders(Greenlane) so i can go offroad without worrying too much. But i am curious about performance upgrades you mentioned, subscribed to make sure i don't miss it.

Looks awesome, the only thing I’d suggest you replace that tonneau cover for a hard one it’ll look perfect on your beautiful taco these cheaper ones eventually will degrade too soon in a couple years due to the sun heat, I installed one on my taco,and ended up replacing it for a hard one in less than a couple years!!

Yes, the K&N intake does give more of a growl to the sound of your Tacoma.
I noticed it right after I installed mine. It has more pep as well.
My next investment will be the Overland Tailor Tune, (OTT). It causes your Tacoma to have more lower end torque and the transmission won’t “hunt” for the right gear.

Hey bro, Nice recap on your truck! I’m debating the bug deflector myself. I’ve had them in the past. Don’t feel they do much as far as preventing bug splatter. More for aesthetics and paint chips like you mentioned. Might add to the Stormtrooper look I’m going for. Purchased the same Cali Raised Cat Guards for my dad’s Taco. They won’t work for me since you don’t get full protection with a MT. Still deciding on what solution I want to go with. Gonna install some Diode Dynamics fog lights next week. I don’t recall if you’ve done the led conversion for your interior lights? If not totally worth the $25.

Great to hear from you man! I met a guy with a manual Pro and he had the “Miller Cat Shield” for his cat shields.. completely guards the m/t setup and he was happy with it. Enjoy the install on the lights. Always a good time when working on the Taco. I haven’t done the conversion just yet, but it’s on my list. Talk soon 👍🏼🤙🏼!

Nice vid! You got a sweet taco. Do you have a vid on how you clean your truck up? Car wash? Or do you do it yourself? I’ve never taken it to the wash as of yet but what are your thoughts
Hey Scott, thank you! I wash I wash it myself and try to stay away from car washes, especially the tunnel ones. You’re not the first person to ask me about this and I’ll be doing a video on my full detailing process I do on the truck to keep it in this condition.

Great Setup. I have the same rims/wheels. Any tips on installing those wheel caps without breaking the clips. Seems impossible. 🤔

I have 21 Tacoma TRD off road and I'm in San Diego as well! I'm really considering the KO2s on my stock 16" wheels as well as I really like the look. I plan to do a decent amount of off-roading in Ocotillo, Anza borrego, Big bear, maybe a few Arizona trails. You still recommend the KO2s? I probably will get the OTT tune from Q in future months but def want to put tires first. And maybe a lift sometime later (after recovering from tire price lol). Thanks!
I love the KO2’s.. I think they are by far the best looking tire.. heavy.. but they look great and outside of rainy conditions most people don’t have too many bad things to say about them. I’ve only driven it on a couple of dirt paths, but there was a Tacoma I saw on the “car care nut” channel and he was reviewing a Tacoma that travels to Africa and all over and they were running those I believe?

I guess with the OTT tune do you feel like you still have good power with these heavier E rated tires? Have you noticed any harshness or stiffness in the handling on the road?

@@westcoasttaco Thats great to hear. i'm still pretty torn between these E rated tires, or going to SL rated Goodyear wrangler Ultra terrains from DiscountTire. Was worried about the weight and power loss from E rated tires. But i do eventually plan on getting the OTT tune from Q, so maybe it wont be so bad with E rated tires.
We need the wider fog / driving lights because we live in an area where there is a LOT of Wildlife.

With the westcott design lift kit for the trd pro won’t the 285s fit without any rubbing etc
I believe they install a 1.25” spacer on the front tires due to rubbing on the UCA🤔. I may be wrong, but I don’t think it fully clears without the spacer when flexed etc.

I just recently bought a 2023 black trd off road. Have a couple questions. Did you remove the trd off-road decals? It looks so clean. Also what wheels are those exactly so I can make sure and get the same wheel and tire set because I’m going with the trd lift myself. Thanks man
Congrats and thanks for reaching out! I did remove the decals.. I felt like it would look much cleaner by removing them. My tires are the BFGoodrich KO2 265/75/R16 and I have the 2nd version of the Tacoma TRD Pro Wheels: parts.elmhursttoyota.com/p-genuine-toyota-2020-2022-tacoma-trd-pro-16-matte-black-wheel-set-pt9463520002wcapset . What's the offset compared to the stock wheel it came with? How does the truck ride compared to stock with the lift and add a leaf?

@@roncrow7976 I believe the offset of the stock off road wheel is +25 and the offset of trd pro wheel is +13. Going with the AAL is a big improvement over the block. I really like the TRD Lift.. it’s OEM and the truck feels great.👍🏼
Did you ceramic coat the finish?
Nope just wax.. I’ll be doing a video soon on the process and what I do to keep my vehicle looking this way. I had a few people ask, so hopefully it might help some people out.

Predator Tube-Steps. They are a Toyota part. You can find them for sale at most dealerships or on sparkparts or bam wholesale.
I traded in my 2023 sport long bed. I just couldnt justify payments on a vehicle with so many issues. Beautiful truck, but not for me.

This is my third 4Runner and it is fantastic. As for the issues, it’s the same ones that everyone has with these trucks. It’s just a matter of how much a person is willing to put up with, for the sake of owning a Tacoma.
