Chase, this is such a great breakdown and explanation with fabulous examples! While we got a pretty well thought-through sales process, there is still so much room to use more of these statements. Thank you for sharing all of those so graciously.

I watched this last night. I started to watch a youtube video by somebody this morning and they started off with "I'm so glad you're here. I know you're here because you're the kind of people that are ......... and ........ . " Immediately I thought "Ooh, I see what they did there." They're saying that if I don't watch the video then I'm not a person who has those desirable traits. Watched five minutes, it was a lot of talk and no substance. Thank you Chase for educating us. I don't know that I would use these techniques myself but I'm definitely noticing them being used by others.

All of us have been target audiences for various psychological warfare operations for more than 100 years now. Time to learn how we are being manipulated to tribalize against our own neighbors and tribalize as peopel who love our neighbors and treat them as we would like to be treated. We rise by lifting others!

i SO relate to this, and your example of conservation and environmental/sustainability values conflicting with behavior and choice is SPOT ON for me!!!!! i have spent a lot of my live in the weeds of cognitive dissonance, because i was an environmental studies major in college, but also a RAGING bulimic. i suppose in short it was a jeckyl and hyde thing. so, i'm at class thinking about sheet cakes, shitty cookies, doughnuts, pizzas, all this stuff i'd be binging on later in the day - if i wasn't already home cutting class to binge. i'd be driving all over and getting like egg mcmuffins and whoppers, fries, nasty corporations and policies that i was purchasing. you name it i've puked it up. i didn't exactly justify it or anything, but it was a secret i just did not confront very often, just lived in it everyday. now i look back and it is actually just interesting. now i just eat those things and i actually don't am more of a NIMBY person tbh, or somewhere in the middle i guess. i just hesitate to give my fellow americans a hard time about it, what car they drive, where they shop. i get it, and maybe someday they will make different choices that then some people might be pleased about, not care about, or roll their eyes about. it's a moment in time, and all we can do is age and reflect if we like. thanks for the video.

5:20 That is the problem with the ego (self-identity) in our current society, that under the surface it is almost entirely built on primative survival mechanisms. We will defend our ego/self-identity as if our lives depend on it because we are fighting against what is perceived as 'ego-death'. This is largely due to the severely outdated way we raise and educate children. Our society is only 'civilized' at the surface, while underneath the surface it is not.

That was amazing Chase, thank you. Would you ever consider maybe giving some advice or book recommendation for situations when people are struggling with changing some of their own behaviors, specifically being able to recognize when that undesirable behavior takes effect and be able to stop in time and change course? For example, I'm always aware when I'm wrong afterwards, I just never manage to catch myself in time :)

Validate that wrongness. Notice it examine everything, be that person, see & hold & hug that unlovable wrongness in yourself and its capacity to make you feel shame. Embrace that we all feel some shame, every one has it. Feel and accept the dark unloveliness so you can See it in yourself and playfully give it a corner in your room to be in, to be safe in and not interupt your rightful decision makings.

@@7hilladelphia thank you, appreciated your input, I'm mostly okay with my flaws and and I'm not so harsh on myself what I wrote about is actually more about changing patterns in behavior that I know it should be possible to change and benefit from such changes in life, but somehow I can't manage to catch them in real time. You know that moment when you're talking to someone and as soon as you finish the sentence you think oh I shouldn't have said that, or I shouldn't have expressed myself so over the top emotionally but some patterns are really strong, usually inherited from parents and so hard to change, at least for me. That's something that I'm dealing with and hoping to find some advice or recommendations how to recognize that moment and react before the program with the pattern in your head is activated. But anyways thank you for taking a time to write something it's very nice of you :)

I don't know if this will be of any benefit to you but if you don't mind I'd like to share what worked for me, and that is by increasing my self awareness and retrospection. Paying close attention and analysing my thought patterns and then working to understand where any unhealthy thoughts were birthed from, and implementing healthy ways of thinking, like a rebirth of thought patterns.
Also another technique I use is playing out different conversation dialogues, and me visualizing I'm them, how I'd wish to be responded to. "Emotional empathy".
Also regulating my emotions, therefore I'm not quick to respond to the person. I tune into really listening rather then listening to respond. I learned thru my personal experience every statement a person shares doesn't need an opinion or suggestion, just simply validating what they say is enough. Some people don't want an answer to something, they just like to know they've been heard, thus they feel understood, acknowledged, supported and loved. It helps with their self esteem.
      Peace and respect to you❤

I like that in your "Identity Statements" you used the term "I" rather than making a statement like, "YOU should be a leader, not a follower". Far less confrontational. Since we are flooded by key phrases every minute of the day through the news, media ,people, and politicians if we connect the dots we can see how little of our own thoughts have influenced our mind. Most are set up to be preprogrammed. I don't think we have an original thought in our heads. Are we not just a collection of other peoples influence, and we adopt our mindset to adjust to our individual societies?

      You definitely can
Look back at a time where you were exactly who you said you were and got things done and affirm to yourself you are that kind of person the emotion of the past memory mixed with the affirmation are potent mix to enter the subconscious. If not looking back on a a past event you can look at something you will do in the future and affirm you are the kind of person who does that
You’ll be more prepared when doing the thing and it’ll be a self fulfilling prophecy as your subconscious is expecting it as a future event . Hope this can help!

If enough people believe something is going to happen, or is happening, can that cause it to? Many people believe that reality to be the foundation, or purpose behind mass manipulation and deception. That mass belief has the power to affect /create/change physical reality in the future?!? Thoughts..

suggestion: Have the 'blank' word replaced with any example that fits the context; it distracts the mind, disrupts the flow, according to my mind. oftentimes the whole narrative is clearly laid out in our head and we assume the same would be the case when we convert that mind narrative into words. We are well aware that hardly happens- there's a big gap between what we know and what we speak we know of.
(or you could also that I'm lazy to put extra efforts to understand this level of knowledgeable content)

@@jeremyfirth That is precisely my argument. Regardless of the evidence presented, religious individuals maintain their belief in a deity who created the Earth. In contrast, science is about exploration and learning new things daily, requiring us to constantly think in innovative ways. This is the essence of science.

@@jeremyfirth Actually, Christianity began with the ministry of Jesus around AD 30-33. As for the age of the Earth, it is estimated to be 4.54 billion years old, based on radiometric age-dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples. The figure of approximately 6,000 years is a historical estimate not supported by scientific evidence. The Earth is significantly older than that, at roughly 4.6 billion years.

Sometimes being highly intelligent means you are able to fool yourself all the more convincingly. IQ tests measure the potential of the brain but these tests do not measure how or if someone will choose to use to their capacities to their full potential or for the right reasons. Ego can also be a huge blinder on acknowledging impact of own actions, on other people especially if you have convinced yourself with all the power of your brain and own perceived reality that you are fighting for the good or the Godly cause and you are righteous and correct. When my daughter did an IQ test one of the questions was, what colour is the grass? she answered golden yellow because at that time of year it was golden yellow. And this was the truth, we were off a property that was in a drought, the grass was indeed golden yellow and very dry but the test said green ….you must answer green to get that question correct and get a higher score for your iq test. So take it with a grain of salt . These tests get redeveloped constantly also because they do not have it right all the time either.
