    I love the fact that u mention the band names, gives us the idea which preamp is for which kinda music and also helps to make decision not hoard all these cute mini pedals.

      haha me too. I love these micropreamps. The 005 has always been my favorite, but 017, in addition to having an excellent red channel, has a clean channel really clean. Blue channel in 005 is crunch. The 017 is my favorite now. :)

      Hi Wayne. Some of them have been with me for about 20 years :) That's why I like Boss so much. In addition to excellent effects and quality, these pedals are very resistant to time. I had a CS2 and Me8 in the late 90s, I regret not having this equipments with me today.

    Seus vídeos são sensacionais. Que Deus abençoe grandemente você e família.
    Eu pensava que devido a ser um pedal de pré amp, tinha que ser obrigatório ele ser o último da cadeia antes de ir direto pra mesa/interface. Não tem ordem correta. O importante é a função pré amp estar ligada, é isso?

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar
      @DirectRecordingGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amém Isaac! Deus te abençoe também! Olha, se o preamp for somente Clean, ele pode ser usado no final da cadeia ou no meio após os pedais de OD/DS e antes das mod, delay e reverb. Mas se o pedal tem dois canais (um clean e outro de drive) como o 017 ele deve ficar no meio da cadeia. Pois, quando vc usar o canal de drive ele estará antes das mod, delay e reverb entende? Em pedaleiras como a GT100, Hd500x e outras o preamp/cab sempre está no meio da cadeia assim podemos usar efeitos de modulação, delay e reverb em stereo. O mesmo se aplica a preamps como o 017. Se tiver dúvidas pode falar comigo por aqui. Há outros vídeos nesta playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLrxXQYEp-_ujR9UVRBTGLnO19557YFKMe.html / Em um deles usei o Mooer 004 + IR loader no final da cadeia, e em outros usei no meio. dá uma olhada. Abração.

New sub here. I've watched and read all previous comments in your channel about mooer 017 and feels very interested in buying one. As time passed by, do you still recommend it for ampless board? I don't have any plan to get a dedicated IR loader pedal and in your videos the stock cab sim of 017 sounded fine to me. Please kindly respond how do you suggest it today? I'd like to know how you feel about the stock cab sim, if IR is a must or no? Thank you for uploading.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar

      Hello my friend! Thanks! Yes, I recommend. The 017 has an excellent clean channel and a drive channel. Native cabinet is great and very functional. Especially in live shows, at high volumes, his sound is very good and impresses everyone. In the case of studio recordings, I prefer to turn off the native cabinet and use one of my personal IRs as I can get closer to the sound of the real Mark IV (you will find links to these IRs in the description of my Nux MG30 videos). But as I said above, in rehearsals and live shows I prefer the native cabinet because at high volumes it is very good. :) *Edit: All the videos I've used the 017 in are gathered in this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLrxXQYEp-_ugIxv7cwPkg7MX719Ex1AIf.html // And this is the MG30 playlist, where I share my IRs: th-cam.com/play/PLrxXQYEp-_uiQCE40VwQfoJ8FTFzUpD9p.html

      @@DirectRecordingGuitar thank you for such detailed answer, I really appreciate your time to write me these. I'm considering buying an IR later when I have money for that. But I guess I can use IR from DAW reaper as I'm just a home player? I really dig your video on 017 because you convinced me to choose it over 005. I have ts808, ocd, turbo rat, nux horseman klon, timmy, riot and crunch distortion pedals. As you said the clean channel on 017 receives these pedals better made a big impression. How does 017 sound when pushing it using other OD/dist pedals in front? I'm looking for a melting crispy/juicy lead tone and chuggy riff tone. Thank you man for assisting me to make the right choice.

      The 006 also has an excellent clean channel. It accepts OD/DS pedals excellently. It was my last purchase of Mooer micropreamps so I only made two videos. I use it live shows in a set with Rc Boost, OCD and Angry Charlie and it's wonderful. 006's Red channel is Crunch/OD. 006 and 017 are my favorite. th-cam.com/video/B5RGW0lAl10/w-d-xo.html / th-cam.com/video/T5QbJphK6-U/w-d-xo.html

      @@DirectRecordingGuitar nice sounds brother. I'm really into the 017 because I like the dirt channel more for sick lead tone. So how do pedals react in dirt channel on 017 in live situations for boosting to increase sustain of the notes? All my pedals are analog and I see the mooer micro preamps are digital recreation of famous tube amp heads so how does they react? If I place my delay reverb after mooer preamp do I still get the stock cabsim or I have put the preamp at last of chain? Thanks again.

    • @DirectRecordingGuitar

      They react very well! And the better the OD/DS/FZ pedal, the better the end result will be. Have you seen the other video, using SD1 and the loved/hated MT2 haha. Normal noises like all guitar equipment, which actually comes more from the cables, guitar wiring in need of overhaul or low power grid. Mooer micropreamps need 300mA to work properly. Less than that will have noise and malfunction.

      Fala Nidson!
