Personally I DO hope there's a second season. Just like Amazon doubled down with Rings of Power ( a $100 million investment), Disney needs to learn their lesson the hard way...

@@8Smoker8 the show is terrible. I was very excited for it, and just was thoroughly disappointed. Im not gonna be dramatic and say that it killed Star wars, but it's a bad show in many ways. I just started following this guy, and went back and watched all of his reviews on the acolyte.

We never thought we would see many things we have been seeing in star wars sadly.
lol, that really is nothing to complain about. We are talking about a galaxy as big as the milky way. But of course star wars makes every planet seem like its just a few miles down the road. My question is how fast is hyperspace ? It would be nice to see a star wars tail about a trek journey across the universe rather then popping up at a planet within 5 minutes.

@@fionnaitsradag5152 The bugs were coming at him at all directions. Jedis can be distracted. For example a enterage of laser bullets to block. My point is that there is far more worse things on the show to complain about then that. Jedis can be distracted. The show proved that by having Mai kill the first jedi by distracting her. And I think that is a play on how much a jedi can block lasers. They can only concentrate on so much before you have a opening to kill them unguarded. Another better question would be why didnt the bugs attack all the jedis and sith when their light sabers were glowing. For the fact that they were fighting with light sabers should of attracted the bugs on everyone.
Either he's the most powerful Sith, or the Jedi were merely like parking-ticket enforcers.

I know throwing a lightsaber LOOKS cool, but damn that’s gotta be the stupidest thing you can do. Even if you can control it with “the Force” - what’s to stop a Jedi from slicing it in half with a well timed strike? Or grabbing it, if they’re skilled enough. Then who’s laughing, Smylo?😂

By that logic you're also criticizing Darth Vader as that is a move he definitely uses. If you wanna go down that route then Vader also uses "stupid tactics"
There was this cool variant in Jedi Academy with the 2 saber style: bladelock with one blade and forcemaneuver the other in an arc to slash the opponent across the back

They killed off every single Jedi who was in the main cast except the main one. I can’t even remember names at this point and I’m like “now there is barely any cast?!” And I was like “oh they killed that Jedi that I don’t even know their name” how can I form a bond to them if they don’t have a personality…..I had zero bond to these people.
Don't worry, it was all in their heads and the dust made it worse. They'll all be back alive in the next non flashback episode.
why didn't Master Jedis from everywhere feel a disturbance in the force with Jedi being killed ...because remember The Force binds us it Connects us all everywhere
My theory is Mae succeeds in killing a Jedi unarmed and Squid game never informs the Jedi. Therefore Master Forehead never finds out about the Sith underbite. And I believe she succeeds not by killing him but getting him to give up being a Jedi. I think the four Jedi actually killed all the witches and Mae knows this. So she’ll guilt trip him into giving up. Hopefully they don’t overdo it and have Squid convert to the dark side as that would be too unbelievable. I’m sure they would not allow such bad writing on a multi million dollar show.
I think they were patting each other backs because “we foreshadowed all of it, we are so smart”.

Are Jedi's power rangers, why aren't they "allowed" to escalate? You think a cop won't pull a gun on a violent criminial because the criminial doesn't have a gun, so now they have to win in a one on one fist fight. Thats a silly rule.
Use of force model, cops do not escalate. Which is pointless in this as even without a light saber a Jedi/sith is not unarmed.....they literally trained to use unarmed fighting
It is complete nonsense and a complete lack of knowledge of the lore, the Jedi used deathly force endlessly throughout the franchise, the Jedi are not even close to anything related to our reality, they are not cops.

Cortosis ore was a very rare, brittle, fibrous material, the conductive properties of which would cause lightsabers to temporarily short out upon contact and has been brought into canon. What erks me with this episode is how useless the Jedi Masters are in combat, and how a padawan fights better than all the masters that die. The writers and directors definately don't understand power scaling.
I would've liked them making the sith more methodical and sadistic where the padawan struggled even to match blows flinching from his strength making him laugh, maybe even put a hand behind his back to taunt her effortlessly blocking what she can do playing with his food giving time for the master to return instead, of course, making the female padawan somehow be able to hold her own like a master can. Even threw away the guy who had the upperhand coming to ambush him because he was male. Really makes all of them seem so incompetent

When Jar Jar's stupidity isn't killing people, his luck does help others. That makes him more useful than the protagonist of this show and anyone else.
Also the choreography of the fights does not hide the fact that those Jedi were asking to be killed. There many opportunities for them to deal some serious blows to the totally not a Sith dude, yet they were either doing nothing when they had an opening, or charged in without a single thought.
If Jar Jar was there with a baseball bat probably would have defeated the bootleg Kylo Ren in two minutes due to some weird circumstances.

Funny thing… Jar Jar in The Clone Wars was ACTUALLY HELPFUL. There are a few episodes in the series where he actually saves the day and proves his worth. It’s one of the reasons why I love that series so much.
I would prefer darth jar jar to be a thing rather than anything Disney has done till now, and I'm not joking at all.

I liked X-23 the best out of all these Jedi. Sad to see her die, but she did go out like a boss.

If this train wreck gets renewed for two more seasons, THIS will become the fastest-growing TH-cam channel. I’ve watched around 20 reviews (for each of the episode) based on the view count and yours are the most fun!
They better keep the same team, especially the showrunner and the scriptwriters, and bring back all the dead Jedi for season 2: “somehow, the Jedi have returned!”. This show could thrive on its controversy alone. It's so bad that I no longer want it canceled - I’m having too much fun and find myself more impatient for the reviews than the episodes themselves.
So this is the fight that's gonna rival phantom menace? A bunch of lightsabers swinging behind the trees.

This week, we were treated to the steaming dung heap of “EPISODE FIVE: THE LESS THAN AMATEURISH SCREENWRITERS STRIKE BACK”. The episode that Leslye “The Harvey Weinstein’s Acolyte” Headland’s self-proclaimed as her personal favorite installment of her 8 part self-insertion vanity puff piece.
Next week: “EPISODE SIX: RETURN OF THE CRINGE”.
Sol and Qimir are likely brothers/cousins, Qimir means Moon in Arabic. Maybe they came from a dark side family - Sol was also taken by the Jedi against the family's wishes??? and so when Qimir questions showing his face, he means Sol has only ever put on a mask of his real feelings/intentions about the Jedi. Who knows?
Of course they could be going for a play on the Ra/Apophis thing, the light and dark, but I don't know if they're that deep.
I don't think so, because Seoul saw Smylo's face back in the apothecary shop. Maybe he never met him, but I think they would force recognize the family connection.
I don't know, maybe if they were separated at birth, but Sol is way older. You can't predict writing like this.

So Osha runs *away* from Yord with a wounded leg, Smilo pursues, Sol shows up, and in the intervening minute or two we have to watch the red saber flying back and forth, and Yord shows up next to Osha? Why didn't he attack Smilo? He *should have* been coming up behind him. Instead, he circled around to show up there? Seems convenient.
How when Tenebris and Plagus were alive at this time how didn’t they sense Smilo Ren immediately.

That being said, I do have to disagree about Jecki - you said they should’ve built it up, I think this show did WAY too much telegraphing of everything else, lol. So it was the only truly pleasant surprise of the episode to see her turn out to be a total bad ass! 😂

The fight choreography of this episode was one of the greatest, we've seen in SW. The 1v6 type of fights rarely work in any movie hence why they used the trees as coverage. Twirling around with a sword was also done realistically in this fight. This is also thaught in fencing. It allows a swordsman to change his stance and tactics whilst staying in motion. It can confuse your opponent and increase the speed of your strikes. Jecki reminded me of Anakin. The hot headed Padawan ready to jump into battle. The twirling is an aggresive tactic which causes higher risk but also higher reward which fits her rage, we saw on screen. I loved the choreography of this episode and despite the criticism, a lot of other duels in SW wouldn't hold up under scrutiny especially if they're compared to this. I'm sure that if this was released for the Ahsokha show, most fans would claim these are one of the best if not, the best fight scenes in SW history. I think that expecting realism and non-goofy lines from SW is unrealistic since SW and Lucas have always incorporated such elements into the movies. And there are many examples even in fights scenes where realism is non-existent i.e. Vader slamming his lightsaber against a metal pole vs Luke. The writing however is horrible and so is the opportunity for fans to connect with the main characters. Somehow movies like Rogue One were able to do that and with the Acolyte it feels like they mean nothing.
The fight scene was alright but it didn’t make me go “holy shit!” Like fight scenes in something like marvels daredevil would
@@Stark-Cinema Yup especially considering other lightsaber duels like the one on Mustafar, the one in the Phantom Menace and Luke vs Vader. Daredevil has better fight scenes, a lot of Asian movies have better fight scenes but I did enjoy the hand-to-hand combat of this episode but you're right, there's much better fight scenes out there. Only when Jecki attacked Qimir I thought it was phenomenal but that's probably because most people like sped up scenes in a fictional world.
Mae is facedown and appears to be handcuffed with her hands behind. When she gets up, they are immediately in the front...

Looks like Jeckie hit his helmet with her hilt twice, which supports the brittle nature of the metal that shorts out lightsabers, iirc.
Surprising myself and actually defending the show, but having the siths armor be made with Cortosis is kinda sweet
lord teneborus have his mines ...and him and his former master had lot of it after teneberous found new apprentice but qmir don't trust him. I really don't know what happen in qmir backstory with his master and other acolyte that teneberous found that both apprentice know rule of 2 ...and only one is choosing. Its why qmir want his master see the truth he does not trust plagueis ..
weirdly enough I found stuff to enjoy in this episode even though it still clocked at least 3 unintentional laugh out loud moments. the fight choreography is solid and several of the better characters got screentime. kind of a bummer that mae and osha are still the weakest link, both in terms of storytelling and acting.
Sol cant FEEL that Mae isn't his former padawan???? Ughhhhhhh. The writting is atrocious.

I just caught myself in thinking ;"yes! New Acolyte episode". I must've now fully converted from enjoying watching Starwars to enjoying watching the shitshow unfold and tear itself down.

In their previous meeting, Qimir is really worried the Jedi will erase his mind.
Qimir doesn’t know whether the helmet protects his mind or not. Now meeting with Sol, paranoid Qimir asks, 'you don’t remember me?’
Now Qimir realises the helmet works.
Sol being able to sense a familiarity suggests the helmet isn’t blocking entirely, and lets us know that we’ve met the character in the mask before.
The telepathic blocking proorty of the metal is new lore from this helmet.
If padawans could fight like that.. anakin would never have been able to mow them down like he did
F's for Jeki, the only decent character in this shitshow. Her death made me sad then mad because it just felt cheap and pointless. Osha doesn't seem to give a rat's ass that all of her friends/ships died.
She isn't the only one. Sol and Qimir (in episode 5) are pretty interesting. It's just the writing around them mostly sucks.
I finally figured out why Master Sol is mostly absent in most of the fights and suddenly appearing... He actually got Master Trinity's "High Ping"... Also, he also has the force capability to pull Jecki and Yord away from Smilo Ren to prevent their deaths but... he got the "High Ping" now... Also, in retrospect, Master Sol and Jecki are to blame to all of this because they went with their idea about Qimir on the apothecary instead of Yord's in episode 2...

Honestly I thought they were going to pull a Black Widow and reveal that Smilo Ren was Mommy Many.
What I got from this episode is that in episode 2 if they just went up to him and tried to use the force to make the dude confess he would have been outted as the sith then and there by either having his mind read or resisting the force with his own power so not doing that was just for the sake of the plot and nothing else

I think when Smile-O REN says “you tell me” (who hides there face) he’s implying that he’s been hiding his true face (his past evil deeds) from his padwans.
About that “you tell me” line about hiding face I think it was about hiding his “face” from OSHA meaning hiding truth about what happens on galactic lesbos
It would be awesome if Mei just winds up becoming a jedi and osha just winds up becoming the sith's apprentice for no real reason than convenience.
Disney should embrace it and say, “Guys, this was a parody all along!” They should renew it for 10-15 seasons, add time travel to the Old Republic, parallel universes, and even include video game and anime episodes!

I mean, the TV series "Bones" was pretty grim during its first two seasons, then they turned it into a cheesy murder mystery comedy.

Not that this is one of the more major flaws, due to bad writing, in The Acolyte. The Acolyte has to be one of the stupidest worst written, both in characters and storylines, characters dialogue and motivations etc..
But if you point out how bad it is then they, the producers and writers, call you toxic, which is kinda ironic considering they're the one's who "love nothing more than to make men feel uncomfortable".
If they made a good well written show nobody would give 2 hoots that it was "the gayest Star Wars ever" and very few people would mention that it was DEI/Woke. It's starting to feel like they're making shite DEI shows on-purpose in order to stir up their agenda politics... With all the money that went into The Acolyte how hard would it have been to get a really good writer, great director etc. and produce a great show that fans would've loved? Star Wars fans actually aren't that fussy, it's only when they completely butcher the franchise and the characters within the Star Wars universe that the fans Strike Back (see what I did there😀).
Double Dropkick is a legit super dangerous attack. Well trained guy can jump up in place, turn to the side in the air, kinda like doing side flip, and double kick you right in the stomach.
If you fail to flex abs on time, you might have broken organs. Check how Houdini died - guy punched him in the stomach in the sleep, he died from internal bleeding.
It’s also a technique used often by policemen in one of the best Korean movies - “Momeries of a murderer”

I enjoyed this episode, my one gripe is that not one of the ten Jedi that got stibbed got a single echo of emotion from anyone bar Sols reaction to Jeki.
You would think seeing our colleagues and friends getting massacred around you would illicit some response

it actually would've been dope to play up the bugs during the saber fights. Qimir could've used it as a tactic. Engage then turn off his saber and let the bugs snatch up jedi into the night.
i havent seen the ep but multiple people falling into dust will probably mean that some things witnessed by those characters will be hallucinations. next ep will be showing what actually happened lol

Hand to hand combat when you have access to lightsabers is so goofy. This is Star Wars, you’re Jedi and “Sith”. Use the force and duel, not karate. I’m not saying there isn’t a place to hand to hand in the universe, but in this situation it feels silly. 90% of the Jedi on planet have just been wiped out by this dude (who happens to be Mae’s master), get serious and cut them down. We want lightsaber duels in Star Wars, not Enter the Dragon kung fu. This is the only show in the franchise that made up this stupid “a jedi only draws his weapon when he intends to kill somebody” rule. This rule has been proven false a hundred times now. Also, head butting a lightsaber is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Yes Cortosis is a thing, but 1. They haven’t explained it to people who don’t know the lore , 2. We’ve never seen this happen before, and 3. Lightsabers are highly deadly plasma swords that can cut through almost anything, seems silly to not be able to cut through a tiny helmet. If they wanted to show Cortosis off, it could have been implemented in a much better way imo. This show is so unserious and goofy. I’m blown away that people genuinely think that this episode has saved the show and erases every other shitty thing about it.

I have a theory with the show. Towards the end where mei was trying to tell osha that she’s brainwashed, I feel like that’s actually true. And that the Jedi actually killed her family. It gives confirmation as to why mei is angry with the Jedi and why she cares deeply for her sister, even though it seems like mei has not nothing for her. Idk it just seems like by how the writing is going, this is what will follow
So like the flashback we saw before of mei burning the building was osha memory of is after the brainwashing of sorts

I think Darth Wataryu is awesome, especially 1 Sith can kill lots of Jedi.

Ghirahim would make for the Perfect Sith Lord. Despite that he's a Flamboyant Demon Lord Guy from the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, his Moveset is perfect for Single, Dual, and Heavy Lightsaber Combat. Plus he can have Force Guided Throwing Daggers that could be used, of course they'd be made from Cortosis which is a Lightsaber Resistant Material to make their Effectiveness that much more Efficient against Jedi.
*What could’ve been:*
✅ Sith perspective story similar to Darth Plagueis or Darth Bane novels; Sith warrior and inquisitor stories from SWTOR.
✅ Mature and grounded story similar to Andor but with the mysticism of the Dark Side. In-depth look at Sith philosophy as we follow a master/apprentice two vs an entire galaxy story.
✅ Well-written Sith protagonists part of a two-person organization in a thousand-year conspiracy to upset the Galactic status-quo.
✅ New Star Wars timeline.

I really hope we get at least 2 more flashbacks episodes one to show why smilo ren is evil and not just because he wants to be it would be so funny though because of how the last flashback episode went.
Sol masking his evil actions from osha has been hinted at several times over a couple episode.
It's a metaphoric mask but not cryptic for the sake of it.

Look this has been peace time for the Jedi, I like the idea of the Padewan having sharper light saber fighting skills being fresh out of training compared to the others who have gotten rusty then Sol being great because he stays sharp teaching. Still poorly written arc though

The best part is how they wanted to be game of thrones brightness level. 25 years ago. With half of the fight on greenscreen stages. We could nicley see Maul VS Qui & Obi. Here, we get to see trees. Phantom only cost 20 million more.
They should of just made the show about Plagueis. Also anyone who uses the dark side is a Sith, even if he/she has a rainbow lightsaber.

Yall will never understand how peaceful life is when you just watch shows and find things you like about them. The hate for this episode is crazy because that ahit was fire asf. Sure it had some points that didnt make total logical sense but its a fucking show it doesnt affect your life in any tangible way
I will point out that scientists just figured out that bugs aren't actually attracted to light. They simply orient themselves by keeping their backs to the light. Works pretty well with sun or moon light being so far away, but it causes them to just orbit around lightbulbs. Very sad. I guess the bugs long, long ago hadn't realized this yet

I don't think many are gonna look too much at slight inconsistencies. On the whole, was not looking for intellectual drama, only escapist fun. Here's what i would do with inconsistencies-
In earlier timeline, Sol stops & pauses, then looks at osha. Osha instinctively asks what's wrong. Sol replies, saying he can't empathically sense any thoughts or feelings from her. But strangely could when younger.
Sol privately wonders if now older Osha has developed a more "mature" barrier against him. In his experience, it's not the first time this has happened & suspects it won't be the last either.
During the battle with the "adversary" in helmet, Sol ponders on whether Mae has this same innate ability to block his senses of her. As the battle begins, sol looks for Osha & is concerned that Mae might use this time to get to Osha, use her as a hostage to flee from here. Or worse, persuade her to follow her. Sol calls out to her. He quickly looks back & sees 2 Jedi fall. He Quickly stops calling for her. Putting his fellow Jedi first, he rushes towards the fray.
The Sith expertly draws them further away from Sol, widening the distance between him & the skirmish. By now, The last of the day's sun leaves the horizon & as "darkness" envelops all, a palpable feeling of fear seems to "preternaturally" radiate out towards Sol & jedi in waves. As if the darkness itself was strengthening this strange sith. In each jedi mind, their training against fear & mind manipulation takes over. They whisper their taught mantras against this attack.
"Fear is the killer of thought & strategy. I shall not fear, for the force is my strength & guide"
One of the jedi falters & literally, he begins to shake, then go "rigid" as uncontrollable fear literally freezes his actions. The others ignore this, but "position" themselves between the victim & sith. Light flashes from their sabers, then coruscate as theirs clashes with the sith. The sith attempts to reach the frozen victim, but now sol enters the fray. As he does so, the Sith "smiles", & as he smiles, a sound of cracking branches & heavy breathing, faint at first emanates mere inches away from Sol. Sol's actual feeling of fear this time feels it's "a warning" to turn around. He quickly whirls around, while the other 2 confronts the Sith. Sol gasps !! Surprise & shock sets in momentarily as the force "manifests" an "ethereal" Sith, garbed in ancient old republic era. An ancient sith ghost conjured by this sith ??? Sol always theorised that if the jedi could call on the dead, then maybe the sith could as well?? But an incorporeal capable of fighting them ? Sol sees the ghost is unarmed, but nevertheless strikes diagonally down at it !!... ....Nothing happened ?? Sol strikes again ! Again the light saber passes harmlessly through this ghost.
The ghost looks to the Sith, as if waiting for instructions. While the sith feverishly battled on, the sith stole a moment to quickly glance at the ghost, then towards the frozen victim. The ghost sith understood, then moved straight through Sol, then "thrust" his hand deep into the chest of the frozen victim. A silent scream flashed across the face of the victim as his heart is violently squeezed. Blood trickles from victim's mouth as he gasps his last breath !
By now, Jeck Lon has eventually overpowered & handcuffed Mae, but hearing the ongoing battle feels she might be needed. Sol, seeing Yord & remaining knights are still alive orders them to attack sith while he confronts the apparition. Sol uses the force to "push" the ghost away from battle. Then he closes his eyes & concentrates, trying to telekinetically "rend to shreds" the apparition. The ghost "falters & wails" momentarily, then "re-coalesces" & laughs !!
One by one the ghost focuses on each jedi, deliberately leaving Sol to the sith, quickly moving "through" sol & thrusting his hand over each victim's heart. Yord valiantly fights on as Sol continuously tries using the force to push away and rend the ghost. By now, sol is weakening. Just as Yord gains the upper hand, the ghost snatches at yord's heart. Yord grimaces in sheer pain & looks at helpless Sol, whose face by now is contorted with emotional frustration & helplessness !! The sith hovers over yord & laughs. The sith quickly raises his saber & cuts off the arm of yord whose still alive. Sol lunges at sith while his friend agonisingly dies. Just then, the full moon" comes out from beneath the clouds & bathes the apparition in white light. The ghost howls & fades to nothing. Now the battle is even !! But sith manages to cut Sol's saber, disabling it. Sol, now defenceless backs away. Osha, who watches on helplessly now has an idea. She charges her stun gun to overload & uses it as an EMP bomb. Sith's saber dies out. Quickly, osha attaches 2 found light sabers to the side of her "floating bot" companion, then orders it to sol. With sabers on outer side of bot means sith cannot see them. The sith senses the danger & sends out a force grip towards the bot flying towards sol. But the bots "slippery" suspensor fields causes sith to loose grip. However, "one" of those sabers, partly caught by force grip drops to floor. Sith sees it & force pulls it successfully to himself as Sol grabs the other. By now, Jecki Lon has arrived at the scene. Sol, still unsure of his odds sees Lon is way too inexperienced & quickly orders her to escort osha back to the ship & leave !!
Just as lon escorts osha away, she notices a glint of shiny metal reflecting the moon's light in the dirt ground, strangely drawn to it, she realises one of those in battle had dropped it ?? She picks it up & as she does so, an enchanting "whisper", only she can hear, whispers into her mind. Sol Shouts at her again, shaking her loose of this whispering. With senses regained, she beckons osha to follow her. As they pass through area where creatures are, osha says she has an idea. She quickly orders her "hovering/flying" droid to "light up". The creatures above "shriek" then dive to her. Osha "holds onto" flying droid tightly then orders it to fly as fast as possible to sol ! Lon screams at her, but can do little. The little droid dodges between ever thickening clots of tree trunks & branches as creatures gets nearer & nearer. Osha screams as teeth bites into her leg. She desperately tries to kick it off & orders bot to fly faster. Another bites into her arm, but bot zaps it with an extending probe. Osha can feel the poison sinking into her & begins to loose grip. At that precise moment, the bot arrives, just as sol is losing ground. As Osha loses consciousness she orders bot to fly & attach to the back of sith, then slips from the bot to the ground at high speed ! The bot, travelling at high speed, slams into back of sith, sending him forward to the ground. The creatures race in & engulf both !! The bot switches off it's lights as many sink teeth & poison claw into sith. The sith manages to kill a few, but more engulf him, carrying his fighting body away. Sol, caught by the impact of both is also sent flying, but now unconscious !!
Delirious with poison, osha gets up & walks aimlessly into the forest. It's then mae finds her. Not knowing if the sith is still alive & sensing her sister might not make it, she decides to take her place. Dowsing the "front" of her hair in wet, stench bog", she then uses the saber to cut off that part. The muck/slime & stench masks any possibility of saber burn smells. She remembers her tattoo on forehead & promptly uses found saber to burn off tattoo.
I wondered how the flashlight droid stuck to his back, too. They could at least have shown Osha put some glue on it.🤨

Sol points out that Qimir has the hallmarks of a Jedi. Then he says Qimir is "no Jedi," It tells us Sol assumed he was and that he’s puzzled out that his abilities and training have come from a different master.
