Breathing Water is a skill book that increases your Alteration skill, not the alteration spell tome Water Breathing. Yes the names are confusing, but it helps explain why the argonian had it: to study of course. The fact that he was studying Alteration might also explain why he failed Illusions. Just a thought.
Exploring Skyrim's northern coastline with the "Sea of Ghosts" mod installed was probably the worst decision I could have made. Salvaging Pilgrim's Trench when a pack of sharks came up to see what I was doing about gave me a heart attack.
The frozen mage is not the only frozen person in the Elder Scrolls universe. There is a quest in Oblivion in which you find a knight, along with a Frost Atronach, encased in a tomb of ice.
I speculate that non-dwemer battleaxe was thrown at the mammoth later than the original hunting happened. Some young punk was trying to show off, successfully hit frozen animal and after that simply couldn't reach the weapon. :D By the way I'm amazed, how detailed and researched your videos are :)
I absolutely love the amount of effort you put into these, I totally adore the Elder Scrolls series, and the way you produce content to me, is so refreshing, every video whether it’s: Lore, Curious Curiosities, Theories, TES Detective or just update videos in general, they’re always so entertaining and so well made. 10/10, keep up the good work my dude

Ahh this is so relaxing to listen to and watch. I've also played many hundreds of hours of Skyrim since 2014 (and have since bought the special edition) and I'm still discovering new things every time I open the game, definitely one of my favourites. Thanks for doing these I love them!
27:30 I have a theory for this out of place structure. It’s a memorial, a marker for the dead. Maybe an alchemist based on the potions, or just a great warrior if that war-hammer is any indication. Whatever the reason, those artifacts were left as signs of respect like how we leave flowers at a grave. The body is buried underneath the structure.
I'm going to try running a DnD campaign for the first time this weekend, and it's set in winterhold 80 years before skyrim. A few weeks before the great collapse. These videos have been a huge help for inspiration
I wish there was a quest/questline to rebuild Winterhold (maybe with the tech Hearthfire uses), making decisions like whether or not to cooperate with the college and things like that
Fun fact for 27:00, if you download the extremely popular Tools of Kagrenac mod, the dwarven Warhammer is replaced with Sunder. There are bones strewn about and touching the mighty, ancient hammer instantly kills you.
My favorite explanation for the Dwemer mammoth is that the hunting party chased it into the river or lake that eventually became the ice flow of that glaciation, the other option I like is that it was buried in a snow slide which again became a layer in that glacial shelf worming it’s way to the sea
"A few too many, a man overboard, a freak wave, what have you. Two drunk men floundering about in an ice cold liquid tomb, likely drawing the attention of the local slaughterfish that fill this bay and live up to their namesake. Being eaten alive in a matter of minutes by the very creatures they sought to capture themselves, stripped barebone to waft weightless for eternity as two skeletons at the end of a sad story, at the end of the world." I want to play D&D with you
Winterhold has the best auroras in Skyrim at night time. I also love the mage's collage and would've loved to see Winterhold city before the collapse! Great video as always Camel!

Feeling down, had to send home an adorable cat who I became attached to as his owner is back. This was exactly what I needed in my life. Thank you Camel, you're a savior of blue hearts. ❤

Oh right I never thought about that the fact that we can get his blessing must mean he is god. But the again his blessing reduced the cool down of shouts by 0% so still arguable
Camel, hey, thank you for another great video, CCC is one of my favorite series on YT! One thing I did want to mention, the apothecary satchel next to the two friends who froze to death always has that copy of Mannimarco:King of Worms in it...or at least it has all of the 40 or so times I have gone to get it on a new file. Thanks again, keep it up, we all love your videos!
I realize this is an older video and the comment may have already been asked, but could the spear of unknown origin at the end perhaps be a weapon of Riekling make used for large prey? You've managed to make the impossible seem 99.9% possible more times than I can remember and it's left me a very open-minded skyrim adventurer. Thank you for making the best game ever even better with each video!
The mystery spear is dwemer, its just horribly out of place. Its from the spear bar gates that drop into the floor in dwemer ruins. I noticed it today after watching this video in the background, and playing in Blackreach. The bars on the lift next to crimson nirnroot guys house are the exact same spears.
the winters gate is actually called "the great arch" as sourced by a less common DLC encounter event where a dawnguard courier is sent to restock a Dawnguard cache. I believe this only happens if you play as a vampire and you are in a specific region and specific point in the DLC quest. There is a note on their person listing cache locations, one "by the great arch in winterhold" or something to that effect
The octagonal flag pole is most likely a recycled "Floor spear" (Seen around nordic ruins. I can only concretely remember the ones at the Dawnstar sanctuary, at the top of the stairs connecting the main entry/coffin/alchemy lab level and the kitchen. Those spears are pulled up while you go get Cicero so that you have to do the long walk around the entire sanctuary to reach him.
Something I noticed in my game today, the "spear" in the mamoth is not actually a unique model but is the metal gate spikes used in dwemer ruins that you need to find a button or level to open, the ones that retract into the ground
Woke up at 3:50 am on Saturday WTF IS THIS!!! Hahah the lord the king our saviour drops a 60 minute video, woohooo good work legend. It’s certainly not winterhold in Australia ey lol another hot weekend. But lord Camel keeping it nice and cool 😎 thank you. Hope you have been well mate.

I’ve always wanted to explore the snowy regions, but as someone who uses frostfall, it’s not exactly easy. Although, there’s something about losing hope as you’re about to freeze to death, only to suddenly find a cave to seek shelter in. It’s an amazing and super immersive feeling. I’ll always prefer the rift though. #RiftRules
With the guy with his leg in the bear trap, everyone seems to think that they’re friends. However, one of them has a book of conjuration, King of Worms, in his satchel. Maybe he was the one who set the trap, and was experimenting on the poor victim. However, he died of frostbite while preforming his experiments.
For the College Apprentice I would like to think he was trying to summon a Frost Atronach or a Frost Thrall but it backfired the spell backfired due to his lack of experience encasing him in solid ice

one of the four old holds... I assume the others are Markarth (since it was built by the Dwemer), Windhelm (one of the first to be built by the Atmorans), and Whiterun (as evident by Jorvaskr which was built by Ysgramor's 500 Companions.)
Man I love this channel, I don't have time to play games, I work on a laptop and this is nice background, almost as good as playing the game, some ways better.
Much welcome video! I play Skyrim with your curiosities and detective playlists on a loop. ... I could probably account for 500 of your overall views. 😀😕
If he actually does consider doing it, then he probably couldn't do Skyrim, maybe Daedric related areas, like the Oblivion realms. But if he does that, then I think it would be best for him to do ALL Elder Scrolls games.

I love Winterhold. One of my favorite holds to explore.
Good video, my dude
one of the four old holds...
HOT DAMN Never jumped into my subs so fast.
Awesome video man :) this is my favorite series on TH-cam
So glad with this new video, really missed you camel!
I gotta idea, you could do ccc on all the acsessable daedric realms
If he actually does consider doing it, then he probably couldn't do Skyrim, maybe Daedric related areas, like the Oblivion realms. But if he does that, then I think it would be best for him to do ALL Elder Scrolls games.
Wow I thought I'd found or heard of just about every curiosity out there, but I had never seen that mage encased in ice before. Thanks!
I could literally listen to your voice forever and be satisfied with life I stg these videos are so calming and interesting
one of my favorite types of videos. I find your CCC videos fantastic please keep them coming
Anyone else find it weird how he pronounced “monolithic ice bubbles” at 1:47 😂 😆
Sounds like Bobbles
I’ll never get over how amazing and well made there videos are
This made my Monday. I always look forward to these!
First CCC Video I saw, but it really sparked my curiosity - Keep it coming :)
This was|is the best, most detailed and descriptive vid I’ve ever seen!!!! I’ve watched it twice now. Amazing and the music was haunting and fit the video perfectly. What song was it exactly? I would love to download it. Ty again so much for this epicness!!!
Omg ive been waiting for this! Amazing work as always Camel!
AYYY much anticipated and appreciated camel!
Camel discusses "The Importance Of Where" while giving Talos a reach around...
In fairness, those statues do make the Ninth look kind of virile.
The pole you mentioned at 48 minutes in has the same mapping and texture as the models they use for the bars on Dwemer doorways that you have to use switches to open
I swear, all of your videos are top tier. Awesome job👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this,outstanding narrative
