LOL THE DC XYT TO THE SECOND POWER! To Help Jen: - DCAU: DC Animated Universe - DCUAOM: DC Animated Original Movies - Tomorrowverse: The New and Current DC Animated Movie Universe - DCEU: DC Extended Universe aka the Live Action Movies - DCU: The New James Gunn Universe
As far as how it fits i to the last movie, this acts as the introduction of the new timeline where all the characters first meet and at some point the new timeline barry will have his memory of the original timeline restored and give Bruce the note at the end of flashpoint.
You know the fun part? That moment with the letter at the end of Flashpoint happens in the future relative to this movie. In the comics, the war arc takes place five years before the point where Flash returned. Shortly after his return, Flash's memories start to "adapt" to the new timeline, causing him to forget everything about the previous timeline and Flashpoint. So, it's actually the reverse of what you said. He won't regain his memories. When he stopped himself from saving his mother, the changes echoed both into the future and the past, essentially creating a new timeline. It wouldn't make sense if the events in this new timeline only started happening after Barry returned. I hope Iit makes sense, because it's very confusing part.
@@JunTekuTheEngima I mean, you said he would restore his memories and give Bruce letter. But he actually gave him the letter right after he "came back" from Flashpoint, and after he slowly lost his memories of past timeline.

The fact that you guys haven’t done invincible yet is insane, I feel like it’s right I yours and especially Jen’s alley. Definitely worth a watch for when you’re done with dc
Yo! The last movie is a total refresher for you guys ,you're gonna love it because its less hands-on and you get to see the characters fleshed out a little bit more
Seeing as one of the main origins for the Joker is that he was a stand up comic, who not only was forced to become a small time criminal by gangsters but also forced to wear a red hood who then got knocked into a vat of acid when fleeing Bruce Wayne's Batman. Then in a universe where Bruce doesn't become the bat the original joker never gets knocked into the vat. So flashpoint would have a different joker
So for Jen to get a better idea of green lantern for like back story, you guys should watch “Green Lantern: First Flight” very good character representation for green lantern in general but also for how Hal Jordan is supposed to be as a character
Definitely check out Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. It's not part of any extended universe like the DCAMU or the Tomorrowverse, but is part of its own continuity. It's a great watch that is sadly overlooked by newcomers. The animation is stunning, characterisation on point, has a great story and most surprisingly good music. It was made during a time when Warner Bros had bigger budgets for their animated movies and it definitely shows. The biggest selling point of the movie to me however is that it actually felt like a cinematic movie, not some extended episode like the newer ones tend to be. It had a gripping cold open, good buildup, fantastic climax and a satisfying ending. Just throwing it out there in case you ever wanna check out any animated movies with a different flavour seeing that it was made in 2010, before the MCU set the bar for superhero movies and everyone else wanted to copy them by making everything a shared universe.
Fun fact the DCAU is techincally the first superhero connected universe. Also if you want a lighthearted Superman then My Adventures With Superman is perfect for you. That show is one of the best adaptations of Superman ever. Superman & Lois is really good too.
To clarify the point about DCAU vs DCAMU: The DCAU refers to the continuity that includes Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Static Shock. The DCAMU are the separately interconnected movies starting with Flashpoint Paradox.
Definitely check out the voice cast because it's insane with the likes of Alan Tudyk, Jason O' Mara, and Andre Baugher (ya know, Captain Holt of Brooklyn 9-9)
Very excited for you guys to be doing these films. I hope Jen comes to like the Green Lanterns, they're my favourite heroes across all of comics and will hopefully be getting some justice in James Gunn's new DCU
For the most part, when it was released (a decade ago... Wow) but Jen's score is pretty much the consensus for the movie. When the DC films were coming out, they were all most well liked, then this released, which was very mixed, mainly because it adapted the also mixed Justice League New 52 storyline. After this is Son of Batman, you'll get introduced to Damian, the most frequent character in these films.
Love the reactions and can't wait for you guys to see the rest and what's on store. The new 52 verse is personally one of my favorites and I'm sure as you guys will love the movies overall there fun, comical, serious, and just really enjoyable overall. Im super excited you guys are watching these and I'm sure you'll have fun with them. Can't wait till you guys get to Batman vs Robin the court of owls is an an amazing villain and makes a wonderful story/movie. Can't wait to see you guys react to the next one
8:55 funny you asked that, they do in next films after this. they changed up her personality plus replaced her voice actor. the replacement is rosario dawson.
OMG I got the comment of the day! Talk about HYPE! 😊 FYI the Flash did fix what he did in Flashpoint. However it still changed events. Just not as severe. This was how DC rebooted their comics to the New 52. Flashpoint was the cause of it. Oh and Superman and Wonder Woman were in fact a couple during this run.
Well, the good news is the next movie is the start of the Damian Wayne movies. James Gunn's DC Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold, will feature the Bruce and Damian Wayne relationship. Damian is in most of the movies moving forward, but the main ones in his storyline are: Son of Batman; Batman vs. Robin; Batman: Bad Blood; Justice League vs. Teen Titans; Teen Titans: The Judas Contract; and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
I'm glad Holden realized that they're watching the DCAMU, not the DCAU, lol. Two completely different DC Universe series. However, I do wish him and Jen do a reaction to the Batman The Animated Series in the near future.
I’m glad you guys read the comments because I was really hoping you would see that Martha becomes the Joker in Flashpoint. It’s such an interesting, honestly heartbreaking twist on the Batman lore 🥲
Yep; Clark and Diana even have a child in one universe. I believe he is Jonathan Kent II (Hyperman) He has the combined powers of both parents and can travel through time and other realities.
Yeah, the original Flashpoint comic's purpose was to serve as a continuity reset to the New 52, the idea basically being that Barry couldn't fix everything and while the timeline he ends up in is similar, but not the same, such as with the Ezra Miller Movie, it ends with George Clooney replacing Ben Affleck, or in the Arrow version several changes such as John Diggle's baby going from a girl to a boy. At least from a design perspective the New 52 is used as the basis for the DCAMU.
I never thought wonder woman was airhead ... i just thought ice cream doeant exist in the amazon ... its her first visit as a ambassador to the modern world . Just like the wonder woman movie when steve takes her to london .
If you rewatch the Flash museum attack at the start and the letter delivery scenes in Flashpoint the costumes change, but Flash's new design didn't carry over somehow. This movie is also a prequel Flashpoint, but don't get too bogged down in the continuity beyond release dates after this. From what I recall, they tended to contradict or retcon themselves but it'll be fun to see if its noticeable or I was just an irate fanboy when I 1st watched them.
In terms of consistency, this is the true beginning of the animated New 52 movies. So this is the heroes at their youngest technically. And the versions of the characters introduced in this are all the same moving forward.
On Superman and how he acts: in the new 52 timeline Clark’s parents died in an accident when he was I think 15-16 years old. So with dad and mom out of his life then teachings is mildly altered. He still uses his powers for good o help ppl, but he is more cocky about it.
Green lanterns are basically space cops It's referred to as the DCAOU (Animated Original Universe). Me personally, I call it Animated new 52 universe Wonder woman was acting the way she was because at that time, she had only been in the modern world for a few days and was seeing most things for the first time
They didnt use Kevin as Batman in this cause they wanted to seperate “TV Batman” from “Movie Batman”. Kind of like Grant was “TV Flash” and Ezra was “Movie Flash”. Now Kevin does voice Batman in some one off Batman movies, but in the DCAU (ha i said it also) its mainly Jason O’Mara which I really like his voice as the bats.
I just wanna note that Superman isn’t only just the strongest in the DC universe. He’s also the kindest. Superman has this misconception of being overrated and overpowered but he’s a really great character that’s necessary in a world full of homelander and omnimans
If the context is helpful at all, the DCAMU movies are based on the reboot DC did for their comics in 2011 called the New 52. Attempting to give a fresh take on the characters, DC gave the characters slight personality and design changes.
Green Lantern getting humbled and jumped is the funniest part of this movie.

Fun fact: the Flash Museum was built only a year after the Flash was noticed in Central City. They just immediately fell in love with him. Very different than other cities reactions to their hero's 😅.
I really hope this leads to a new respect for dc characters and a new sense of “👏 oooohimsoexcitedtowatchthis” when new dc movies start showing trailers
This week has been a banger of reacts. Thank you guys! ❤
Nothing like a morning cup of coffee and a Holden Hardman video on a Saturday morning. It’s like Saturday morning cartoons.
Hey Holden and Jen I'm so excited for you both to watch the DCAMU each Movie gets better and better
Why am I only realizing now that The Flash (5:34) states his food was a chimichanga? Total Deadpool reference (considering his suit and attitude in this movie)
5:30 the live action and this is based on the first volume of New 52 Justice league, this one closer to that comic with the live action didn’t have them fight darksied.
Though even animated rhey change some stuff like Shazam wasn’t part of the initial league roster. In comics it was aquaman which in live action aquaman is there but they removed green lantern.
8:04 I'm only now finding out, that there was an end credits scene in the Flashpoint movie!
LOL THE DC XYT TO THE SECOND POWER! To Help Jen:
- DCAU: DC Animated Universe
- DCUAOM: DC Animated Original Movies
- Tomorrowverse: The New and Current DC Animated Movie Universe
- DCEU: DC Extended Universe aka the Live Action Movies
- DCU: The New James Gunn Universe
@@localhobo5362 how is that the reverse of my point? what you said was my point exactly- just not with so many words.
@@JunTekuTheEngima I mean, you said he would restore his memories and give Bruce letter.
But he actually gave him the letter right after he "came back" from Flashpoint, and after he slowly lost his memories of past timeline.
@@localhobo5362 I'm fully aware of when Barry gave Bruce the letter, it was shown in the last movie. All I said was this takes place earlier in the new timeline prior to timeline 1 Barry coming out of the speed force and giving the letter to Bruce.
@@JunTekuTheEngima "barry will have his memory of the original timeline restored"

The fact that you guys haven’t done invincible yet is insane, I feel like it’s right I yours and especially Jen’s alley. Definitely worth a watch for when you’re done with dc
They did it on their Patreon
It’s on Patreon it’s not on their channel yet
Yo! The last movie is a total refresher for you guys ,you're gonna love it because its less hands-on and you get to see the characters fleshed out a little bit more
Any chance you will do X-Men 97? It’s quite awesome!
The Dark Knight Returns part 1&2 are phenomenal movies, highly recommend.
The moment you realize this is just the live action Justice League movie, but better...
This movie sucks too tho
Umm ZSJL was fantastic though. This animated film is pretty “meh.”
@@te1013 ZSJL was worse than "meh". It was not a good movie, it was only good compared to the horrible theatrical cut.
They’re both bad versions of Geoff Johns’ Justice League origin
Not a high bar…
Definitely check out the voice cast because it's insane with the likes of Alan Tudyk, Jason O' Mara, and Andre Baugher (ya know, Captain Holt of Brooklyn 9-9)
Can't wait for you to react to Apokolips War. One of my favorite DC animated movies
YES!!! This is what we’ve been waiting for!
Very excited for you guys to be doing these films. I hope Jen comes to like the Green Lanterns, they're my favourite heroes across all of comics and will hopefully be getting some justice in James Gunn's new DCU
The first thing that popped into my head when I first saw Wonder Woman's ice cream moment was Thor's coffee moment from the first Thor movie.
Absolutely love it awesome reaction
Favorite part in this whole movie was Billy saying Shazam before he swung his bat. Idk why but that shi was epic as hell to me 😄
14:19 Darkseid. There is literally no Thanos without him.
You guys have to watch "Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker", one of my favourite Dc animated Movies.
Seeing you guys enjoy these movies for the first time makes me wish I could forget them so I can rewatch them.
8:55 funny you asked that, they do in next films after this. they changed up her personality plus replaced her voice actor. the replacement is rosario dawson.
lanterns are basically dc's equivalent of marvel's nova corps, vastly different powersets but both are a kind of space police.
OMG I got the comment of the day! Talk about HYPE! 😊
FYI the Flash did fix what he did in Flashpoint. However it still changed events. Just not as severe. This was how DC rebooted their comics to the New 52. Flashpoint was the cause of it. Oh and Superman and Wonder Woman were in fact a couple during this run.
Jen need to watch that Green Lantern movie. .
😂
Well, the good news is the next movie is the start of the Damian Wayne movies. James Gunn's DC Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold, will feature the Bruce and Damian Wayne relationship. Damian is in most of the movies moving forward, but the main ones in his storyline are: Son of Batman; Batman vs. Robin; Batman: Bad Blood; Justice League vs. Teen Titans; Teen Titans: The Judas Contract; and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
Can't wait till you see Justice League Dark and Holden, you will love the darkness of it.
glad you're watching this series, excellent series and the ending in apokolips war had me thinking "damn, that was better than avengers endgame" lol.
I'm glad Holden realized that they're watching the DCAMU, not the DCAU, lol. Two completely different DC Universe series. However, I do wish him and Jen do a reaction to the Batman The Animated Series in the near future.
Darkseid came first 1970 and Thanos came after in 1973
I’m glad you guys read the comments because I was really hoping you would see that Martha becomes the Joker in Flashpoint. It’s such an interesting, honestly heartbreaking twist on the Batman lore 🥲
"Hey, Barry? You got a little something on your nose."
"Yeah Baby! Clap it up!"
Yep; Clark and Diana even have a child in one universe. I believe he is Jonathan Kent II (Hyperman) He has the combined powers of both parents and can travel through time and other realities.
After getting through everything, this movie is just the perfect beginning.
LOL DAMN YOU AT&T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, This is Basically the Justice League Movie/ZSJL in 80 Minutes!
I'm hopping they are also reacting to The Dark Knight Retruns in the Future. It is one of my favorites.
Holden: I wish Superman was a bit more like a Boy Scout
Jen: I like that Superman was a square with an edge.
I think they purposefully made all the characters rough around the edges to give them room for growth.
14:01 Check out Death Battle. They have an episode between Thanos vs Darksied.
Green lanterns are basically space cops
It's referred to as the DCAOU (Animated Original Universe). Me personally, I call it Animated new 52 universe
Wonder woman was acting the way she was because at that time, she had only been in the modern world for a few days and was seeing most things for the first time
They didnt use Kevin as Batman in this cause they wanted to seperate “TV Batman” from “Movie Batman”. Kind of like Grant was “TV Flash” and Ezra was “Movie Flash”.
Now Kevin does voice Batman in some one off Batman movies, but in the DCAU (ha i said it also) its mainly Jason O’Mara which I really like his voice as the bats.
I’ll always crack a smile seeing Hal get his ass whooped.
Also note the age range for many of these heroes is around mid 20s. Bruce been Batman if I remember right from the comics for about 3 years.
This series of movies is inspired by the New 52 Era of DC. After these movies is the TomorrowVerse.
I just wanna note that Superman isn’t only just the strongest in the DC universe. He’s also the kindest. Superman has this misconception of being overrated and overpowered but he’s a really great character that’s necessary in a world full of homelander and omnimans
Remember Negan and Maggy being Bruce parents? Zack intended to do the flashpoint story after JL3 😢
I think y'all should watch all of the movies connected to this universe they're all pretty good
If the context is helpful at all, the DCAMU movies are based on the reboot DC did for their comics in 2011 called the New 52. Attempting to give a fresh take on the characters, DC gave the characters slight personality and design changes.
Yeah I wasn't crazy about how Superman was treated at first. But you learn that he was fresh as being Superman. Don't worry they all get better.
This batman is voiced by Jason O'Mara who does a pretty job with the character in the rest of the films you'll see yeah he continues being batman
